Second AirPort Express Basisstation not found after update

Hello!
I'm trying to set a second AEBS in client mode (as defined on http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=108040), because I want to use it for AirTunes while I'm connected to the Internet thru the other AEBS I've had.
I'm following the instructions founded in the support-sites: I do a hard reset for my second AEBS and then configure it with the AirPort Utility (latest version) to use the existing network of my first AEBS.
Everything is ok *ONLY if I let the network unprotected*!
As soon as I try to use some kind of protection (thru WPA/WPA2 and password or by hiding the name of the network or even restricting the computers aloud to access the network thru the MAC-adresses), the second AEBS couldn't be founded anymore after the update.
I've tried this from my MacMini PPC running Leopard and from a pre-latest MBP running Tiger ... both succesless!
Do you have any advice?

I disconnected one of my apx from power and now
I'm not able to configure it.
After updating the APX, the Airport Admin Utility cannot find
it anymore...

I tried to search for this issue but never found the solution. In the meantime, it drives me mad......so please do respond if you know the answer.
Here is the problem. I have a WDS setup for our home, time capsule as base and several airport extremes (AX) for the wifi net through the house. In addition there is one AX for iTunes and I have one setup for the printer. Untill last week everything worked just fine. However, after installing a new printer, the printer AX blinked amber. I performed a reset and went through the setup, my AirPort Utility found it right away. I followed the steps for setting it up to join my current wireless network (usb printer). However, after the message: "The settings for this AirPort Express have been successfully updated. You can close this window or wait for this AirPort Express to restart" , the AX restarted, I finally got a message telling me there was an error joining my network. So I closed the ultility, resetted the AX and went through the process again. Unfortunately, the same result. Tried to connect the old printer, same result. Tried another AX, same result. Tried connecting it with a LAN cable, same result. It all goes fine untill right after the restart phase. NExt the AX is not recognized.
As nothing has been changed in the meantime, I have no clue at all what might be the problem. Anyone ????

Airport Express keeps dropping out after update to Mavericks

I have just updated my fairly old system (iMac 2008) to Mavericks and experience has been mostly positive. However the Airport Express that I have been using for years as a network client to play music from iTunes on my hi-fi has now stopped working reliably. It constantly drops the music every few seconds to the point it is unuseable. Generally the green light (on the Express) stays on but for long drop-outs (say over 3s) the orange light starts flashing, then the green light comes back on again.
The only things that have changed are software updates. The iMac has been updated from 10.5.8 to 10.9. iTunes is now 11.1.3 and the Airport Express asked for a firmware update so I did that too. No new hardware has been added, no new RF items have been introduced to the house, nothing has changed position.
The Airport Express is model no A1264. The wireless router is a Netgear model from VirginMedia.
This is really frustrating as its the only job the £80 airport express has to do and now it doesn't.

Using TimeCapsule with a Comcast modem AND Airport Express. Way slower after updates! What's up?

I've been running this set up for two years now without a hitch. Comcast Modem to TimeCapsule by Ethernet. Then TimeCapsule to Airport Express via WiFi. It used to work great because my TC was far away from my family room and the AE extended my network flawlessly.
After Mavericks and IOS 7.06 installations on my devices (iMac, Macbook Air, iPhone, and iPad) my wifi seems to be moving at half speed. I've rebooted the Comcast Modem and TimeCapsule. I guess I should reboot airport express as well. But I doubt thats the problem. I was thinking of asking Comcast to change out Modems but this is a new problem only since updates. What should I do?
Any ideas?

Power off the entire network.....all devices....computers, printers, modem, TC, mobile devices, etc
Wait a few minutes
Start the modem first, and let it run a few minutes by itself
Start the TC next and let it run a full minute
Keep starting devices one a time about a minute apart until the entire network is powered back up

Airport Extreme and Airport Express are not found on the Airport Utility. Internet still works. Huh?

I have an Airport Extreme serving as my wireless router with an external hard drive connected to it. I also have an Airport Express in another room connected to a stereo for Airplay. Neither can be found on the Airport Utility (v5.5.3), but wireless internet still works. This happens often, with both reappearing in Airport Utility for short amounts of time periodically. What's the deal? Both the Extreme and Express are less than 6 months old. It's a bit frustrating not getting tunes when you have everything set up right and not being able to use Time Machine consistently.
All recommendations appreciated.

The reason for that issue is the frequency (radio band) hopping of the station.
On your AP-Extreme
Enter the manual setup
Disable Guest Network if not desperately needed
Set a dedicated name for the 5GHz wireless (wireless -> wireless options)
Eventually change the radio mode (if no 802.11b/g systems in your home) to "only 802.11n (5GHz) - only 802.11n (2.4GHz)" by holding down the option key *alt* while clicking on the drop down.
On your Mac
Disable (switch off) wireless
Enter system configuration -> network -> wireless
Uncheck "Ask to join new networks"
Enter advanced options and check that your wireless name is in the first position of the list. If not, drag it with the mouse to the first position.
Click apply
Join your wireless again and try to connect to the 5GHz name (SSID) because the 5GHz will improve the connection speed of your Mac remarkably.
Eventually you might change the settings on the Express too.
Check the location of the AP-Extreme.
It should NOT be placed: On the floor, in a corner, behind furniture, near metal objects, life high voltage wire or cordless phone bases.
It should be placed: As high as possible (up on a shelf or ceiling mounted) with a maximum line of sight to all stations, even thru walls.
If your home situation allows that, try to use the 5GHz band only. If you own a iPhone this must use the 2.4GHz radio.

i updated my mobile software from 4.60 to 8.63. after that i start using the chat/im built in application but it says "APPLICATION NOT FOUND". I even tried opening it on menu then messaging then chat but it really doesn't open. what may cause this? what should i do? thanks.

You u need to 1st BACKUP EVERYTHING
then perform the Firmware Upgrade
then RESTORE your packed up Programs and Data ...
or just goto the Ovi store and find some free chat apps and reinstal them,
its cheaper to paste the links it sends your mobile into your phones browswer and surf using Wifi Connection to download apps and themes. good luck

Files on 60GB iPod not found after updates to 1.2

Before I restore just thought I would check. My iPod is conflicted as to what is loaded. Problems occur after update of iTunes 7.0 and iPod updater 1.2.
Manually update is set. iTunes 7.0 says I have 6.0GB of Audio, 13.82GB of Video on a total capacity of 55.68GB iPod. However it also says I have 54.84GB of free space? All music and video files appear with the ! in iTunes, which means file not found.
However, all titles of the files appear on the iPod as if they were still there but just not readable? From the iPod's settings, under About, it shows I still have 1250 Audio file, 98 videos but 54.84GB of space available. If I try to play files in a playlist, it just breezes through the album art and titles like it can't read the files.
Reset, reboot and reinstall does nothing.
iPod is unusable, should I wait for another update?
Should I just restore and loose some stuff that was not backed up? (stupid on my part I know.)
Or does anyone else know of a possible trick I could try?

Server not found after updating firefox. HEEEEELLLPPP!!!!

Im using windows Vista. 3days ago, I launched firefox setup3.6..exe internet connection and mozilla worked fine.
when i restarted my laptop, I just can't connect to the internet- it says SERVER NOT FOUND but I am sure Im connected (my brother's laptop is)
so I uninstalled my NORTON,
i also UNINSTALLED my MOZILLA and reinstalled it.
stil NOT WORKING
checked my firewall... checked mozilla TOOLs- use no proxy

Did you empty your browser cache before typing in your url into your web browser?
Did you type in the url directly rather than clicking on the visit site button?
Have you actually published your site?
Are you using iWeb built in ftp? If you are then perhaps try publishing your site to a local folder from iWeb and using an ftp client such as Cyberduck to upload your site to your server.

Some kde aps not found after update

I just did a massive (1gb) update last night (I know update more often!!)
Most things seem to be fine, except several kde aps aren't found. Konqueror, dolphin and kopete are the ones that don't work so far. I searched the forums but didn't find anything. What's up? I assume it has to do with the new kde-meta-* packages. Anyone know how to fix this?
I checked via pacman and the proper packages seem to be installed..

I should have been a lot more wordy on my last post.
Almost all of the time that you get file no found errors for stuff that's in the PATH is because there's a mix of binaries for different architectures (64 bit and 32 bit in case of Arch). Although, with KDE stuff it would be strange to not get wrong ELF class errors. Did you enable any new repos recently?

IPod not found after update to 9.0.3

I updated my iTunes to the latest version (9.0.3)and ever since, I have not been able to sync my iPod. In fact, iTunes won't even recognize my iPod and when I conncet the iPod to my computer iTunes completely freezes. Also when I connect my iPod, my computer opened up the F: thinking that's what it should do when the iPod was connected. I used the troubleshooting on the support page and changed the drive letter, but it still didn't work. I've also tried the suggestions of uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, and still nothing, and I've tried restarting iTunes, and of course...nothing. I see others are having crazy problems with the update. Am I to assume this is an update problem, or is there perhaps something wrong with my iPod? If/when Apple fixes this, will there be a good chance the iTunes will recognize my iPod again? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Airport express not found after setup

I have a maddening situation. At the beginning of setting up my airport extreme, the computer has no problem finding the wireless device. However, after the A/E is configured and added to my current network (linksys router), the computer can't find the A/E anymore.
What's going on?

The following are Apple's instructions for setup using the Airport Setup Assistant, which is different from Airport Utility, but most of the steps are the same. Some are important for your installation, such as "do NOT select extend the range of my Airport..." and entering your network password correctly. Some steps, like plugging in the Airport, you probably already figured out
Since your router is a Linksys product, after the Express is set up you will no longer be able to see it using Airport Utility. The reason is that you set up the Express using its wireless network (Apple Network xxxxxx), which is subsequently disabled after setup. Once you're done and you click Update you'll be using your Linksys wireless network. Airport Utility only recognizes Airport networks. You didn't create one with your Express nor do you want to given your desired setup. If you need to use Airport Utility to configure the Express again you'll need to perform a hard reset.
If everything's right and you have checked iTunes Preferences > Devices "look for remote speakers connected with Airtunes" option you should see a new menu appear in the lower right of the iTunes window.
If this doesn't work, try disabling your router's encryption temporarily to simplify things. Reset the Express and run Airport Utility without a password this time. You may also need to modify your Sharing > Firewall settings too.

Plug AirPort Express into a power outlet.
On your computer, join the wireless network created by AirPort Express.
Open AirPort Setup Assistant. Mac users: Find it in /Applications/Utilities/. Windows users: On the Start menu, point to All Programs and click AirPort.
When you see the Introduction screen, click Continue.
Select "Set up a new AirPort Base Station" and click Next.
When the AirPort Setup Assistant confirms that it has found your AirPort Express, click Continue. (If >your AirPort Express wasn't found, click Try Again.)
Select "Connect to my current wireless network."
Be sure that "Extend the range of my AirPort wireless network" is not selected (this option is used >only for WDS).
Click Next; AirPort Express Assistant will scan for your existing wireless network. Once it finds it, click Next again.
Choose the correct network (there may only be one) from the Wireless Network Name menu. If the wireless network is password protected, you will be prompted to enter the password. Enter the password and then click Next to continue.
Note: If you have difficulty with your password, you can get help with joining a third-party WEP-protected network.
Enter the name of your AirPort Express.
Tip: If you don't know the name, it's what appears in iTunes as the name of your AirTunes remote speakers.
Click Next.
Assign an administrator password for AirPort Express. This password can be different from any network password, and is used for just changing settings on AirPort Express.
The Summary screen outlines the configuration options you've set. Optionally, you can click Show Passwords to review the administrator and network passwords. Finally, click Next to update AirPort Express with your settings.

HP 6700 all in one wireless printer, got the latest Comcast router. None of which connect to my computer wirelessly. Which do I throw away the printer, router, or Mac? Help

Explain that you are using a Mac, anticipate the inevitable groan, and wait patiently for their resident Mac expert to return from vacation.

I can not open Airport utility on my iMac after updating to maverick 10.9.4 . Error Message:[You can’t use this version of the application “AirPort Utility.app” with this version of OS X. You have "Airport Utility.app"5.4.2] It also will not allow me to install "airport Utility 6.3. Does anybody has a fix for this?

Re-run Software Update and see if there is a newer version of Airport Utility. I suspect your router or iMac may be too old to use Airport Utility 6.3 . As a work- around if Software Update does not work then try reading this article and see if the suggested solution help you.

Please do following checklist:
1. Check that the J2EE engine is up and running (e.g. log in with Admin)
2. Check that the following application is running:
     Visual Admin => Cluster => Server => Services => Deploy
     Select "Application" and look for "sap.com/tclmctcutilbasic_ear
3. Try to continue installation
It could be helpful to apply the patch for CTC as per note # 938261
before restarting.
and also try to add more memory allocation.
If issue persists,
- I'd like to know which installation DVD/CD number being using ?
- The contents of the LABEL.ASC file.
- The installation guide reference and title used for this install ?
- SAPINST version ?
- Oracle version/patch level ?
- Operating system version/patch level ?

Need Help...my wireless airport express will not work with my update of snow leopard

after installing snow leopard on my macbook pro my airport express will not work...or will connect only for a minute at a time.

If you mean by "airport express" the square airport router you plug in and has a usb port then run the Airport Utility located in your Utilities folder to set it up again. If AU doesn't see it you may need to do a re-set of the AE.
