Second Apple TV does not see network

i got an additional apple tv that has refused to see my network i have tried restarting both network and apple tv....changed location to see if signal strength was the issue .. but still only one of the apple Tv sees my network can anybody help!!!

DHCP is enabled on my network
Where? Do you have a router or some other network configuration? Could you describe a bit about your network? If you use a router, do you have its firewall activated, & any features like MAC filtering in use? Is the router's IP Address Pool (the range of IP addresses available for DHCP) restricted to just a few addresses or something unusual like that?
Are you certain the network name you entered is correct (no leading or trailing spaces or anything tricky like that)? If your network is password protected, are you entering the right password?
Can you be more specific about the error message -- does it really say "network (0)" for instance?

  • Apple TV does not see other iTunes

My Apple TV and my iTunes get along great. A friend showed up with his iTunes (on an XP PC). My iTunes and his work fine together, we are both on 7.3.1. So I know network, sharing and connections all are fine. itunes is working as it should for both of us.
But the Apple TV does not see his iTunes to stream. It is supposed to be able to steam from 5 other iTunes, but my Apple TV only sees mine (the one it syncs with). Note that it can also stream from mine just fine.
    Any ideas?

This may reflect my lack of understanding.
His iTunes does not see the Apple TV at all. It does not show up in his iTunes. There is no "devices" list and no Apple TV.
However, even if it did, if you register the Apple TV with another iTunes, doesn't that mean the Apple TV is now going to sync with that new iTunes? Don't you only want to register the Apple TV with one iTunes? I assumed it would stream with any iTunes on the network (up to five).
But we are not there yet. His iTunes does not see the TV and the TV does not see him.
I double checked, he is looking for Apple TV in his settings.

  • Previously networked computer does not see network

I recently exchanged my Airport Extreme for a Time Capsule. My iMac picked it up immediately. Another networked iMac has been a little bit of a problem, since it occasionally gives me a message that it is not connected to the internet, despite the fact that the network shows up. Through trial and error I can usually get it back on track. My biggest problem is the Powermac G5, which always picked up the network, and which does not see it at all. I entered the name of the network with the password, and got a message that there was an error connecting to it. No network at all shows up in the drop down menu for Airport. What am I doing wrong here???

You might try the three suggestions in the second message of this thread:

They may not help, but they're easy to try and shouldn't hurt anything.

  • PC itunes does not see network

    Hi all,
My MM can see the itunes Airport speakers, but the itunes does not see the speakers (the dropdown menu at the bottom of the interface) on my PC laptop. It used to, but since I switched routers it doesn't anymore. Any idea to configure the PC itunes?

    fixed itself it seems.

  • AirPort in Intel iMac loses connection and does not see network

I bought an Intel iMac in the summer of '06. I had no problems connecting my airport card to my house wireless network which uses an AirPort Extreme Base Station.
In september I brought my iMac to college and used an AirPort Express as my base station. I had no problems other than that the computer did not automatically reconnect to the network upon start up.
In december I returned home and configured the AirPort Express (located on the main level of the house) to extend the network of the AirPort Extreme (located upstair in the bedroom next to my iMac).
Lately the iMac loses connectivity to the wireless network randomly while the computer is on, even in the middle of using it. Not only does it lose the signal but does not list my network when i click the airport signal icon on the top bar of the screen. Once in a while it will have it listed but will give me an error when trying to connect. The only way I have of fixing the problem is to restart the computer.
I know the airport base station works fine and the network is still there becasue I have a PowerBook G4 that I will put right next to the iMac and the PowerBook will still be connected to the network.
    Can someone help?

I have a very similar problem. My machine's airport connection has always been a little flaky, but it's always gone on working. However, yesterday I turned on WEP 128 bit encription. It now connects for a few minutes and then I see the signal strength gradually die until it goes off completely. There are then two ways to get it back working: 1. close the lid, then open it again; 2. tun off the airport, then turn it on again. When I do that the signal strength suddenly comes on full after about 3 seconds. The G4 iMac I have doesn't suffer from this problem. I am using a netgear access port as the base station.

  • Apple TV does not see either of my Windows 7 PC's

My Apple TV says I need to enable Sharing in iTunes but it is already enabled.  Neither my apple TV nor my iPhone 5 recognize my PC iTunes library.  It all worked fine last month but something has changed recently.  I have iTunes 11.1 and ios7.  The internet has much to say about this problem but I cannot see any workable solution. I have been through all of the networks checks and all is fine. When I display the PC's network map, it fails to show the Apple TV. Strangely, the Apple TV can find and play my music library but will not see my computer when the icon is selected.  Any help would be appreciated.

In my last update, I said that changing the compatibility mode corrected the Home Sharing issue but turned out to be problematic and not really solving anything.
I now tried another fix which has worked completely.  I think I have seen this fix elsewhere.  I went into the network LAN card and turned off TCP/IP Version 6.  Now the Home Sharing icon appears on my iTunes app and also on my iPhone.  It looks like Microsoft may have turned it on during one of its patches.  At this point, nothing really needs version 6 so should be no harm in disabling it.

  • My apple tv and my macbook share the same itunes e-mail address type login.  The apple tv does not see my macbook.  I have been into itunes and set home sharing but I still have no access to my music or pictures.  any ideas?

  • Iphone does not "see" network

friend visiting my daughter.  her new iphone does not locate my daughter's wifi.  my daughter is connected to it with mer macbook.  the phone "sees" other networks in the areas.  why not this one?
PS  had her shut down phone and then turn it back on.  no effect.
had her enter the network name in "Other," but it still could not locate it.

    it is not hidden.
    N (airport extreme base station)
other devices, including my iphone, have connected to this network recently.  as noted, my daughter's macbook "sees" and is connected to the network.
the network is up and available.
the iphone can detect other networks in the vicinity, also detected by the macbook, but not the one located 20 feet away.
has to be something regarding that iphone, right?
    device has been restarted.

  • OEL6.1 in VM manager does not see network card

I installed OL6.1 as a guest machine in VM manager. I started the install process and when I got to the network configuration it would not let me click on "configure network", it was greyed out. I thought that was a little bit odd but I just thought that I would configure it later. Once I got to the desktop of OL6.1 i checked for the eth0 settings but there was no eth0 at all. The OL6.1 did not even know a network card existed, but I tried to add it manually and still it did not see anything and would not connect to the internet. Has anyone seen this problem before? Thanks.

I will try to answer to the best of my knowledge your questions but I am a bit new at this. I downloaded the OEL 6.1iso media from Oracle site, I then imported it into the resources section in VM manager 2.1.
I then used the create new Virtual Machine and selected the server pool.
I selected the ISO file with OEL 6.1.
I gave it a name, memory size, console password.
Below that I can see the Virtual Network Interface is selected and it shows Bridge xenbr0.
It is showing Fully Virtualized machine not paravirtualized mode. As far as I know I did not install in Xen HVM or with PV drivers.
That is about all I did. Then I started the machine and when through the install process but it did not see the virtual network device.

  • My Apple TV does not see any wifi networks after 7 update.

  • Disk utility does not see network drive

I am trying to partition two NAS; however, they do not show up on disk utility but only the internal HD and a second external drive connected with USB.
I would appreciate ideas how to resolve this problem
    Thanks

The Disk Utility isn't supposed to list network drives in its sidebar. Network drives can only be partitioned through disk images or software provided by the drive's manufacturer for that task(if any).

  • Wine Does Not See Network Printer

I have an hp wireless printer setup on my network. I added it in hplip and it is showing up on CUPS and works fine from everything in Arch.
This is what CUPS looks like:
Driver: HP Envy 4500 Series, hpcups 3.14.10 (color, 2-sided printing)
    Connection: hp:/net/ENVY_4500_series?ip=192.168.2.242
    Defaults: job-sheets=none, none media=na_letter_8.5x11in sides=one-sided
When I try to print from Wine using Notepad, an error message pops and says
"Before you can perform printer-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer. Please install one and retry."
This is the error that displays in the prompt:
    fixme:winspool:WINSPOOL_EnumPrintersW We don't handle PRINTER_ENUM_CONNECTIONS
Everything I have read says if the printer is on CUPS, wine should see it automatically. I am using the 64-bit OS. Any ideas?

My printer is also on wi-fi.  In the past (under os-x) I always had some problems with the scanner - generally I would get a message "Failed to open a session on the device".   It happened infrequently, usually after several days of having my mac on.   I could fix the problem by login-out and in again or by changing to guest and then back again.  However, with Maverick the problem with the scanner and error "failed to open a session on the device" always occurs.  I can't print either - the printer queue says it can't connect to the printer.  To answer your question regarding HP software... there is no HP software for the mac.  I am using the MAC device drivers that were loaded when I connected my printer.  I can print from my iphone/ipad through airprint... but can't seem to print from my mac with maverick.
I did logout and login yesterday to finally install the printer drivers.  But today - I can't connect to the printer. BTW all other computers and devices can print to this printer.

  • Apple TV does not see iTunes Library as on

I have been using ATV for a few months now, I sync photos to ATV and stream music from my computer using iTunes. When I go to sources, I see my library in a greyed out letters and all attempts to connect tell me to turn on the computer and launch iTunes, all the above are on.
This is a new problem after update of software.

I've updated both iTunes and the ATV software. I can now do the uTube thing fine.
I want to sync photos and stream music from same computer. This worked until I did the above updates.
From the ATV, I see my computer to sync photos, but when I want to stream my music from the same computer, the library appears in ATV as a source but it is GREY, as if the computer is not on. The computer is on and running iTunes. When I change my library name in iTunes, the ATV shows the new name, but still greyed out. This is new behavior in the new software. I was able to both Sync photos and stream music from the same computer in the past. Now do I have to turn off sync to stream music from the same source?

  • I am trying to install a second airport express to extend my network. When I use the aiport utility it does not see the second airport express.

I am trying to install a second airport express to extend my network. When I use the aiport utility it does not see the second airport express.

Suggest that you perform a Factory Default Reset as follows:
    Pull the Express from power
    Wait a few moments
Hold in the reset button and keep holding it an additonal 8-10 seconds while you plug the Express back in to power
Release the reset button and allow 40-45 seconds for the Express to restart
Apple's instructions to do what you want are here:
It will often help to temporarily connect an Ethernet cable from your Mac to the AirPort Express for the setup. Once the Express is configured, you can disconnect the Ethernet cable and move the Express to the desired location.

Although an AirPort Extreme is shown as the extending device in the example, the setup for an AirPort Express is exactly the same
