Which OS are you running? if it's 2k/XP, check your CPU utilisation when you scroll a web page... you may find it hits 100%--> causing your MP3s to skip. It also sounds as if you've got IRQ sharing (no APIC :D) .....

ACE Module: How do I confirm that sticky is working?

I have implemented stickiness using source and destination IP address. It doesn't seem to be working consistently. When a client connects to the VIP, I see the connection when I do 'show conn' but when I do 'show sticky database' the database is empty. I've used multiple forms of the 'show sticky database' including but not limited to 'show sticky database client ipaddress', 'show sticky database type ip-netmask both', etc. Am I looking in the right place? Are there other commands that I can use to confirm that stickiness is working?

Hi Barb,
As a first step in troubleshooting your issue of stickiness you can issue the following command:
sh resource usage all. The output should look as follows:
sticky 118303
The 11803 is the current amount of sticky entries in use.
Do it before you attempt a sticky connection and see what the count is.
Then attempt a connection and do the command again and see if the count has increased.
If it has than the feature is working. If not than you may have a configuration issue.
Please post your configuration of the sticky and the policy map associated with it.

Unfortunately, there is pretty much nothing you can do. Only the owner of the account used to lock it can remove the lock. If you can't contact whoever you purchased it from, or if they can't or won't remove the lock, then it's a brick. There is a very real chance that it's stolen.

Could someone who has dns set up correctly confirm that this test works?

and you are taken to Apple's page then you probably don't have your DNS set up correctly.
Can anyone confirm, who has their DNS set up correctly, that attempting to visit that link does not work for them please?

Right, thanks for that info. I don't understand what all the code stuff is at all, but I do understand this:

I'm still confused though. In that article/test in part of its explanation of DNS it says:
If you encounter some applications that continue to work, it may be because they are set up to go directly to an IP address, bypassing the need for DNS service.
Surely typing in http://17.254.0.91 into your browser is a way of making your browser access apple's site *bypassing DNS*? -- because you're using the IP address irradicating the need for changing a name into an IP address. The way to test if DNS is working, surely, is to try and access apple's site via www.apple.com? Not http://17.254.0.91.

If I buy a second-hand iPhone that is locked on EE, can I unlock it so that I can use on my 3 contract?

Looking to buy a new handset to replace my old stolen one. I've found one that is listed as being locked on EE, but my contract isn't with them. Can I get it unlocked in any way? I have the IEMI number if that helps to make sure it's not also a stolen phone.

Only EE can authorize the unlcok so you would need to verify it with them as nobody here would know.

Can u confirm that this will work for duplicates?

I have a LARGE number of duplicate tracks (different mixes, different compilations, etc.) in my iTunes library. I want to keep all of my tracks but I don't want all of the duplicates to show up in my library window. After some experimentation, it seems that I can delete selected duplicates from my library, but have iTunes NOT move them to the trash. That way, the tracks are still on my disk and I can always import them again should I want to, but they will not show up and will not count toward the "size" of my iTunes library.
Is this all correct?

if you have itunes set up correctly it should not matter what songs are in it, I have all my music in home folder- music - itunes - itunes music.
if you then go into itunes and delete the songs you dont want but keep the files they will remain in the itunes folder within the finder.
the way you were asking is as if you have two copys of each song, one on your itunes folder and one elsewhere on you hard disk with is using up a load more space.

Going for Second Hand

Some of my friends use to ask me to buy a second hand Nokia mobile phone for them. I use to check some shops for abovesaid. How can check those mobiles which is in good condition? the Battery works better or not? How long charge will stay? How can make out mobile phone is worth for buying as a second hand?

There will always be a risk involved with this, you should always make sure the phone is fully working with a sim card before you buy it, make sure it connects to the network.
It's hard to say for certain about the batteries, but they're not expensive to replace, so I would always suggest they 'prepare' to have to buy a replacement.
If it looks or sounds too good to be true, there's probably something wrong with it.
Also, one of the other risks involved with buying second hand, is that there's nothing stopping the previous owner from reporting the handset stolen afterwards, which will result in the handset being barred and unusable... It's up to you at the end of the day, I would always try and go with a new handset.Message Edited by richcowell on 20-Aug-2006

How to confirm that XDB database is installed properly

are there any th;umbrules/ ways to confirm that xdb is working fine? To my understanding, its more related to converteing oracle db data (comound data types) into xml .... is this right? We need to convert LCRs to xml and are getting exceptions:SQLERRM:: ORA-31021: Element definition not found; debugging which said taht xmlddb should be installed.
We are using oracle 10G R2 (10.2.0.4) db (only db and no app server or etc).

Why not use DBCA? It can install all major DB options. Other then that, the script is catqm.sql:

Careless? Possible, but unlikely. Most likely the phone was stolen from the first owner. It would be a VERY careless iPhone owner who did not erase their personal information from a phone before selling it, and to do that it is necessary to disable Activation Lock. while you are with the person selling it to you, ask if you can do a complete restore of the software settings->general->reset->reset all
reboot the phone to factory settings and see if that fixes the problem. if not, i wouldn't buy it unless they are selling it to you for less than $50. wifi is crucial for keeping data low and using features like facetime

You need to find out who the carrier was in Switzerland and see if they will unlock the device. The carrier with the lock is the only one that can authorize the unlock. You may need to check with the original owner and see if they can get it unlocked by the carrier if you do not qualify.

The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required.
If you cannot get this information from the seller
Removing a device from a previous owner’s account
You need to return the Device for a refund, as you will not be able to re-activate it.
