Second Input Language Flag Option?

I switch between writing in British English and Korean on my Macbook Pro. When I have the keyboard set to English, the UK flag appears in the menu bar, like so:
When I change to Korean, there is no flag, merely a symbol, as follows:
Is there anyway to change this to a flag?

You would have to go into system/library/input methods/KoreanIM.app and see if there is an image file you could change there.

  • Change keyboard input language without changing spotlight shortcut

I have bought a macbook air recently and installed a second input language. Instead of changing the input language manually each time I want to have a shortcut but the system seems to have only one option which is the "command+space" shortcut, the one for spotlight. This means that I can not have them both at the same time. Help please!

I am trying but i only get to check/uncheck "command+space" on both of them. My question is how to do it manually?

  • Is B1-750-1527 able to support Chinese Input Language? Didn't see that on the option.

I was not able to find Chinese as input language in the Language and Input option.  Is this tablet not able to support that.

    Chris:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Why not just use direct name forwarding, giving them the URL for your published site. To find out what that URL is select the site in iWeb and use the File->Visit Published Site menu option. When you get to the site copy the URL from the browser's URL window and use it.
If you plan on publishing additonal sites but not give them a domain name then the use the following URL: http://web.me.com/youraccount_name/site_foldername/index.html. Then if you publish a second site to the MobileMe account it won't conflict with the domain name site.
That's because when you publish a site to MobileMe an index.html file is created in the iDisk/Web/Sites folder pointing to the index.html file in the last published site's folder. Since the default URL for MobileMe is http://web.me.com/youraccountname/ (the index.html file is not necessary for the default address) it will open the last published site. If you have only one site them there's no problem. If you have multiple sites it can be a problem if you're not using the CNAME process. I prefer the direct forwarding method as it gives me more control.

  • I cannot change my input language from multitap to suretype.

I've tried going to language under device options and switching the input language, but under input language options there is English (United Kingdom) and English (United States), no "ensure multitap" or "ensure suretype." I tried going to the body of a text message and email and opening the menu and clicking on "change input language" but once again my options are English (United Kingdom) and English (United States), no "ensure multitap" or "ensure suretype." I also tried going to the body of a text message or email and holding the * key for 2 to 3 seconds and still nothing happened.
I just got this new phone two days ago and when I inserted the battery and turned it on it was on suretype. This is what I wanted. Last night I locked the phone when I went out to dinner and when I unlocked it after dinner I went to reply to a text and it was in multitap mode although I never changed it. Now I can't change it back. Please help!
    [email protected]

To switch from multitap to suretype and vice versa you need to be in a field where you can type text.  Then hit the menu key and select "Enable SureType" or "Enable MultiTap."

  • Is there a way to permanently change the input language in the login screen?

Whenever I start my iMac with Mavericks, after the boot is complete and the login window appears, I have the change the language in the top right corner from US to DE, else I can't type in my password. Mavericks does not remember this setting, next time after startup I have to do it again. The original owner of this Mac was using US as input language, so I guess that's where it's coming from. This extra step of changign language only takes a few seconds, but many times I forget it and try to enter my password but it will not work. There must be a console command or somethign that can fix this? Thank you!

I managed to find the solution myself. If anyone is interested, just follow those steps here:

  • How to change input language from english to spanish

    Hi guys,
I have the British flag and Spanish flag options in top right but when I click on spainish flag and type in spanish it corrects in english.
How can  make it so i can type in Spanish or English.
    Thanks,

In OS X the spell check and correction do not relate to the keyboard you are using.  They are set in system prefs/language & text/text/spelling.  Or in the app under Edit > Spelling and Grammar (in Pages it is Inspector > Text > More > Language)

  • Issue with Full Screen & Input languages (Mavericks 10.9.1)

I have two issues with the latest (Version 8.0.24308) Microsoft Remote Desktop from the Mac App store:
    1. If I tick the connection entry "Start session in fullscreen" option, after connect the desktop slips upwards like on the screenshot (below on the link)
    2. The default input method switches to Latvian after connect (never used Latvian anywhere...).
    On my Mac:
    - System language: Hungarian
    - Input language: Hungarian
    On the server:
    - System language: English
    - Input language: Hungarian (default) + English
+: the app doesn't supports Retina display resolution :(

    Hi,
    1. The version 8.0.24308 offers updated functionality for full screen mode to users of OS X 10.7+:
OS X native: The native full screen feature for the Mac OS X version.
Custom: The custom full screen mode enables the multi-monitor feature in order to provide a better experience for users of Mac OS X versions 10.7 and 10.8.
Important information for users of 10.9: if you have disabled "Displays have separate Spaces" in Mavericks
(System Preferences > Mission Control) go to Preferences > Resolution in the Microsoft Remote Desktop client and configure the setting using the same option.
Please try the OS X native mode and see how it works.
    2. The OS keyboard locale, is suggested to the remote PC. Therefore, please check the keyboard locale.
    Hope this helps.

  • OS Language Vs. Input Language. How they can coexist?

Hello everybody.. I'm dealing with a Language conflict..
My Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard works in English, but my Input Language (almost everywhere: MS Word, Textedit, Browsers, ect.) is Italian.
Here I have a problem: when I write in italian, the OS automatically use the English Grammar Test and signs as wrong almost every words!
To avoid it, I must turn the OS Language to Italian.. but I'd like to keep the OS in English (even with Italian input language).
    Is it possible in someway?
Thanks a lot if you can help me.
    Alberto from Venice/Rome

    Hi Alberto,
Not sure how many Apps this works for, but say in Text Edit...
In TextEdit, you have the option to run a spell check session in a different language. To do this, go to the Edit menu and choose "Show Spelling and Grammar" from the "Spelling and Grammar" submenu. With the checker open, choose the desired language you would like to use from the menu at the bottom of the window.

  • Changing input language freezes the system

    Hello,
when switching from one input language to the other in a time period of one minute or less, the system freezes for 30 seconds and sometimes even more.
Has anyone ever had such an issue?
Any ideas what causing the system to freeze?
    Thanks in advance,

I wish there was a native one for MacOS X
For what it's worth, there are some available via CocoAspell and OpenOffice 2.

But I am stumped about your freezing problem....
I wonder if you would have the same issue with a different polytonic keyboard. Here are a couple

  • Word input language change?

how do i change the input language to something else besides english like to french or something? is there any way to do this?
    2 GHz MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

how do i change the input language to something else
besides english like to french or something? is there
    any way to do this?
In OS X, if you want to use a French keyboard layout, go to system preferences/international/input menu and check the box for French, plus the box for "show input menu in finder." Then select French in the "flag" menu at the top right of the finder and type away.
To see which key does what, use Keyboard Viewer, activated just like a keyboard layout.
However, you don't need to do this to type French, Spanish, German, etc., because the US keyboard layout can also do it. Here is a list of how to make accented letters:

Is there any shortcut to change input language through the keypad insted of getting into the differnt manue levels?
    Regards,
    wmomran.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I had the same problem but found the solutaion by chance.
    1. On the lowest row of keys push the second one on the left (arrow upward). It is "Shift" if I am not mistaken.
    2. Immidiately after press nearest key to the right "Sym" (not simulteneously)
Window with languages should pop up.
Those who have had experience with E-71 know, that this function is available when you have opened a new sms or e-mail. But it does not work in an ordinary waiting mode.

Make sure the two things available:
    1. Embed fonts option enabled.
This option is available in Designer->File->Form Properties->Save Options panel
Important: This will work only for PDF files (not for XDP)
    2. Adobe Reader Extended Languages support font pack installed on the target machine the Hindi font is not installed.
You have to include the hindi font in ADS . Refer to SAP note 1565508.

  • Adding a Input language

    Hi,
I am looking to add Spanish as a input language, it is not listed on my phone.  Is there anywhere I can download it or add it. I have a Curve 8900 on UK O2, I've tried O2 and they were not very helpful.

You can install other languages through the BB Desktop Manager if you have it installed on your PC. It'll be an option under your "applications" section.

  • Chinese has vanished as Input Language

Around 24 hours ago, my macbook froze while typing something in simplified Chinese, using the desktop WeChat application. On rebooting, simplified Chinese has now vanished from the toggle menu, but more alarmingly, Chinese (in all its forms) has vanished as an option for Input Language in System Preferences. Macbook has been rebooted on numerous occasions since but no change. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Adding Arabic Language as input Language

I have always had Arabic as part of my BB Z10 default languages. Recently my phone crashed and i reinstalled the software release 10.1.0.4181 however this time i lost the option to add Arabic as an input language. How can i re add Arabic, can someone please help?
    Thanks
    T

If you want your OS menus and dialogues to appear in Arabic, go to system preferences/language & text/language and move Arabic to the top of the list and logout/login.  If Arabic is not on the list, use the Edit button to add it.
If it is something different that you want, provide more detail.
