Second Interview Tips!

Hi all,
I was actually interviewed by a Java company (position is Software Engineer Mobility - Java and Oracle) during our university career fair programme. That went around 30 minutes. And they showed the interest in my strength. Then I was called for a technical interview and after that the interviewer declared that I've successfully passed the techical interview and to wait for the reply from the HR.
So just yesterday I was called again for another interview, when I asked them, they said it's discussion based.
Hence, I've done all the research and back ground reading I can do to make my standing strong there next week. I've properly review my first two interview questions as well.
But I just need some tips and ideas to prepare for this discussion based interview. By the way, the company is from East Asian Region, more to Chinees touch. I'm from Indian continent, non chineese.
Thank you. I really do want this job and wana do my level best to get the job.

Hi,
I don't know that those tyes of interviews are like over there. I live in Sweden and I have held lots of interviews and the interview that you are describing is usually an interview where they want to find out what type of person you are and if they want to work with you. It's usually not a technical interview.

One of the better companies I worked for had a written test as part of my interview. Mostly associate developer-level stuff.
Another company simply asked "do you know LabVIEW"? I said "yes". That was it.
    Both companies made offers.

    Hi,
I can tell you about my experience in different process.
I usually have a first interview with the recruiter/agency this first interview is quite general, he usually review your CV, job history,... the recruiter ask you about your interest or motivation for that process, if you are willing to travel, reallocate, etc.. your salary expectations and your knowledge in the different modules. This is the easier interview and if everything is ok, the recruiter will tell you for next steps, probably about the project, the employer, etc...
In the second interview normally is with the consultancy company, with the manager and an experience consultant that usually asks about technical questions, they ask for example, how to setup a dual accounting process with SLA in GL, which reports you would use to reconcille AP/AR and GL, how many segments do you need to setup in GL for a specific business situation, how to load assest in FA, which are de accounting steps from buy goods until you account the AP invoices,...
In some cases you have also a final interview with customer just to get the final approval, but the really important one is the second interview.
    Good Luck ;-)

  • How to speed up tool tips ( hints ) ??

    hi folks
does any one know how to speed up tool tips in mac ??
if u go to any tool in any application in mac and hold your mouse on it for a second , a tip will be showen telling you something on this tool
in mac i have to wait 2 - 3 second so i can see the tips
    why ??
    hope to find answer

I believe the default time for Cocoa apps is 2 seconds in Leopard. You can speed this up with a Terminal command. Launch Terminal, then copy and paste this command and press the Return key:
defaults write -g NSInitialToolTipDelay -int 100
That final number is milliseconds, so that should be rather speedy. It will also speed up the display of the location when you mouse over your Spotlight results. You may have to restart to see the change. Don't know what, if anything, you can do for Carbon apps.

  • Voice Memo on iphone 5 has started to cut out at the 25.40 mark.

I have been using the voice memo function on the iphone without any issues with it recording to any length desired.
I use it to record interviews and podcasts. However, last night, without warning, it has decided to just stop recording at the 25.40 mark. At first I thought it was something that I did but then during a second interview, it cut out at exactly the same time again.
I have recently updated to IOS7 but have used the voice memo since without problems so I doubt its the update that has caused this.
    Anyone know of any fixes?
    Thanks
    A

I have a 5c, and here is how I was able to trim a test recording:
    1. Open the recording file in Voice Memos.
    2. Tap "Edit" at the bottom. It's between the arrow-up symbol and trash can.
    3. On the right side, near the bottom-right corner you'll see a blue box with a round blue dot at the top-left corner of it, and another one at the bottom-right. This is the Trim button. Tap it.
    4. You should now see the recording with the "wavelengths", a vertical blue line (with a blue dot at top and bottom), and on each side a red line (also with red dot at top/bottom).
    5. Touch the left red line and you'll notice you can touch/drag it to the beginning point of your desired portion of the recording.
    6. Touch the right red line and touch/drag it for the recording's end point.
    7. Hit the Play button to play just the trimmed portion, making sure it's what you want.
    8. Once it's what you want, touch "Trim". Up pops "Trim Original" or "Save as New Recording".
On emailing it, go to the trimmed copy and click the arrow-up symbol, which will allow you to either message or email it.
EDIT: I found you can name your recording file to what you want by tapping the default name of it. A cursor will appear where then you can delete and retype a custom file name. Great for emailing so you recipients will know what it is by looking at it.

  • Why the same function ToolTipText behaves differently in Jar and in Class

Hi All! In my applet I use two similar statements from javax.swing:
    jListTeaSortSelect.setToolTipText("To stop the alarm just click over here.");
    jProgressBar1.setToolTipText("To stop the alarm just click over here.");
Both work correctly when I run my applet from classes.
Problem: When I run it from jar, composed from the same classes, second tool tip does not appear.
I have no idea on where to get a hint to the solution. Could that be that the problem is caused by other graphical components or by the layout of the container?
The applet and JAR in question with source code can be found on
http://www.kobylkin.net/TeaTimer.htm , and the source code is included below in this letter as well..

  • Where to see Terminated Applicants against a vacancy ??

    Dear Friends,
We are using Oracle iRecruitmnet for recruiting. Lots of candidates apply for one vacancy. And HR puts candidates in different statuses like fist interview, second interview, offer and so on.
Also HR termibnates applicats against a certain vacancy.
No I want to see a report where I can see all the terminated applicants against a vacancy.
I have tried it in Core HR (Recruitment Administrator) but I could not find one.
Please let me know, if by any way I can see terminated applicants against a vacancy anywhere in the application.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sabyasachi

    Thanks a lot Thierry.
I was wondering whether it is possible by people folder. Like List Peole by Assignment (View -> Lists ). I have tried out though, but no success.
To my surprise in the list of values for Status 'Terminate Assignment' is there. When I select that, and click on FInd, no data is retrieved.
Is this a functinality provided by oracle to see terminated applicants ? Or I am doing any mistake.
Please have a look into this.
    Regards,
    Sabya

    My suggestions:
. Try to use UNION ALL instead of UNION. If you can eliminate UNION all together and flatten the query that will be even better.
    2. You are using the function in a select statement xxdl_eam_util_pkg.xxdl_eam_get_resource_code(pf.person_id, bd.department_id)This will slow the performance. Try to get rid of this. Function calls in select are expensive.
    3. Dont use the parallel hint and optimize. It wont get you consistent results.
    4. Use of per_all_people_F is expensive. The UNION again complicates things. per_all_people_f has to be scanned 2x times.
    5. Where does the application get the values for department id? Whether user inputs a value or whether it is hard coded . Most likely user will input value and each time it may be different. If that is the case, then you may be hitting bind peeking. There is not much hope for this. Not much can be done. Whatever you do this can happen. Only way is to pin the plan if you can use literals instead of binds. But that is not possible I think.
    6. AND DECODE(bd.disable_date,null, sysdate,bd.disable_date) >= sysdate
    AND DECODE(br.disable_date,null, sysdate,br.disable_date) >= sysdate
    AND DECODE(wo.disable_date,null, sysdate,wo.disable_date) >= sysdate
Those statements, if you can rewrite would be good. If there are indexes on any of those columns, they are more than likely not used.
    7. Are the outer joins really required. If not required remove them.
    8. There is a 'WITH' clause in 10g . Try to use that for your subqueries or main query where applicable. It will save some I/O.
    9. Try to tune without any hints. Remove the first rows as well and see the difference.
I know that the sql is definately bad and can be rewritten but I am not able to exactly write it for them.
    Any inputs or thoughts?

  • Apps in AIX?

    Hi Gurus,
Could I get some interview tips from Oracle Apps DBA in AIX?
I know EBS in Windows and Linux, What are the differences in the AIX for 11i/R12 installation, check services, check disk space, paching, cloning, copy, config.txt path, other path, net configuration, hostname and domain name configuration, etc?
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi,
Could I get some interview tips from Oracle Apps DBA in AIX? I agree with the above. If you are familiar with one Unix flavor you should be able to answer the questions of Oracle Apps database on other platforms.
    Thanks,
    Hussein

  • Keep plugins in separate folder

I apologize to many, if not most, of you who probably already practice this tip: install plugins into a dedicated folder.
The only reason I'm posting this rather obvious (at least to me) suggestion is that I've read about several instances of people "uninstalling" plugins or otherwise modifying them on here.
I've had this habit for many years now. It makes it easy to share them, makes upgrades/re-installations smoother and it is very simple to disable them for troubleshooting. If you disable the selection of the dedicated folder, you can compare performance. IF that solves your problem you can tilde them all out and re-enable them one by one to find the specific conflict.

    seconded. good tip harold.

  • Using colours in mail

    Hi Forum,
I'm looking at using Colours to flag mail in Mail. firstly, i know i have done it before but i simply cannot find how, when i create a new colour palette, how I changed the colours?!?!? i can create the palette, i can create a new colour name, but i cannot then change or assign a colour to that new colour name. any ideas?
secondly, any tips on how to use Mail to flag differing accounts for different reasons? I have 2 business accounts A, and B, in both I want to flag the mail with its own colour, easy enough, A can be red, B can be blue. i then need to flag different e-mail with each account for different reasons but similar in each account.
For example, in A, i need to flag the email from that accoutn to be blue, then i want to have a smart folder to sort certain types of email, say:
    To Do: Urgent
    To Do: Not So Urgent
    This Months Expenses
    Last months Expenses
i can use a flag, but if i use just the colour flag for this account to match the email colour, Blue, only one flag for 4 uses needed. how do differentiate the task above?

nobody knows how to edit the colour pallette in Apple Mail? at all? is it harder than i imagined?
