Second page of downloaded apps is locked. How do I get it unlocked?

New ipad user...For some reason our second page with some downloaded apps is locked up. Can't open any of them the apps. First screen is all accessible. Can't figure out why or how to fix.

Then try a reset. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart.

You could also try quitting open apps to see if that helps. Double tap the home button to bring up the task bar, hold down on any app icon until the icons begin to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the corner of the icons to close the apps. If you have a bunch of apps in the task bar, close them all. Then tap the screen (outside of the task bar) to close the task bar. Restart the iPad as described above.

Are these Apps restricted perhaps? Do you have restrictions set on your iPad? I don't use restrictions so I don't know that much about how it affects apps. Go to Settings>General>Restrictions>On ...? If you can restrict those apps maybe that is why they will not open. Turn restrictions off.

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then the steps half-way down this page give you a reset link on your account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting that track from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

hi philly, thanks for getting back to me, especially on such a busy day.
I don't think that's quite the issue though. I bought an album and it appears in 'my purchases' within the itunes app. Yet, in order to listen to the music, i must use the 'music' app and in this application, there are only three tracks displayed at any one time from my downloaded album.
I can 'download all' from the 'my purchases' section but that still doesn't help, it just keeps the last three tracks downloaded in the music app.
I have the 'icloud' enabled and wondered if it had anything to do with that.
i have successfully downloaded another full album totally into the music app, but this first album is causing me problems.

For other items you need to get them from whee yuo got them the first time.
The iPod backup that iTunes makes does not include synced mediai like apps and music. If those ore not in the iTunes library on the computer on which you performed the update they are lost.

in order to restore your songs and apps, you should just reconnect to itunes and sync your data. your phone ran a backup before it upgraded, and you can also do a restore. but the key is still to go to your itunes and sync back to your phone what you wanted there in the first place.

Some apps that you download on your iPhone may possibly be to new for the iPod touch 2nd gen. I have a iPhone 5 and a iPod touch 2nd generation myself. If you plug his ipod into iTunes and restore it from a backup of your iPhone than it will download the paid apps and music that are compatible with his ipod. Hope this helps.
