Second Request On C4780 Wireless Printing

Hi. Doesn't anyone have a probable solution to this issue? Thanks.
I have a C4780 that I've installed and uninstalled the software twice for already. The computer is a Dell laptop. The printer was previously printing wirelessly with a Mac, no problems. Now at the completion of the software installation, the printer congratulates me for a clean setup and prints a nice color test page. When I look in Printers And Devices, the printer is there with a green check mark all ready to go as the default printer.
I have ATT Uverse service, broadband internet, TV, phone, 2-wire162 broadband wireless router, windows 7 home premium...WPA_PSK authentication, TKIP encryption, and the encryption key. I have a Brother MFC-6890CDW all-in-one that works perfectly as a stand-alone wireless device. Norton Anti-Virus is my anti-virus software.
Problem: As soon as I hit print for any document, I get a "Printer Error" and I can't print anything. Can someone help me with this?

  • Setting up a second computer to our wireless printer, may I use a different network

I want to set up a second computer on the wireless printer but do not want to use my personal network, but would like to use the guest network. May I do this? And how

Simple answer, no, you cannot do this.  Two reasons:
    1. The guest network will not, in any way, talk to your personal network.
    2. Most guest networks insist on isolating clients from each other on the guest network (unless you know otherwise).

  • C4780 Wireless printing Problem

Hi. I am not overly technically minded, but need some help with a problem, if possible.
I purchased an HP Laptop and C4780 Printer in February, and have been running them wirelessly without any trouble. However, recently, the printer has stopped responding properly. The symptoms are as follows:
    - Not responding to print job requests promptly.
    - Once it starts printing, will print a bit, then stop and wait a few minutes, then print a bit more.
    - But will then give up, having printed only half the page.
The wireless network is all fine, as I have a few other items on it which are working fine.
It appears to be fine if USB connection is used, but we specifically wanted to be able to use this wirelessly.
Also, the alignment page has never been able to be detected on setting up the printer. It prints fine, but nothing else. I've ignored this so far, as it has not prevented us from using the printer in any way. But just seems strange.
    Many thanks,
    Andy

OK, great, just what I needed to be able to help!

  • Receive network unavailable on c4780 wireless printer

I have recently installed an Airport Extreme and cannot get my C4780 printer to connect to the network wirelessly. Have verified the printer is working correctly via a usb connect to my iMac. Have downloaded the HP suite of applications to support the printer. Have installed and reinstalled software and drivers several times. Message when I attempt to connect to one of the listed networks is that the "Network Unavailable" however they are 3 feet from each other.

I looked up the specifications on the HP printer and found that it does not support "n" wireless.....only "b/g".....very surprising....and I could not find anything about what types of wireless security it supports.
So, you are probably going to have to drop down in performance on the AirPort Extreme to allow the HP to connect and experiment to find a compatible security setting for the HP.
Open AirPort Utility - Click Manual Setup
Click Wireless just below the row of icons
Hold down the option key on your Mac while you click on the Radio Mode selection box and select the following Radio Mode:
    802.11 n only 5 GHz --- 802.11 b/g
Temporarily, change the setting for Wireless Security to None and click Update to save the settings.
See if the HP will connect. If it will, then you have the correct Radio Mode setting.
You will now need to experiment with different settings for Wireless Security to find a compatible setting for the HP.
Open AirPort Utility - Manual Setup
    Click the Wireless tab
Wireless Security = Try WPA2 Peronal first, then WPA/WPA2 Personal, if WPA2 Personal will not work.

  • C4780 Wireless problem

I have bought yesterday a C4780 wireless printer. After almost 2 hours trying to install it, I gave up. In the middle of the process, a got a window message saying that the printer couldn´t be found. I´ve tried so many time to plug/unplug the USB cable, but it didn´t work. The interesting is that the printer appears in the list provided.
I´m using a level one router with window vista. Another problem is that my SSID wasn´t found.
    What should I do?
    Thanks

OK, you should have the wireless on at all times.
Please print a Wireless Network Test from the front of the printer.  Let me know about its self-tests (pass or fail) and its IP address.

  • Trouble setting up wireless printing between my Macbook Pro w. Mountain Lion 10.8.1 and my HP C4780 Printer

    Hi all,
I'm having a frustrating problem trying to set up the wireless printing between my Macbook Pro 13" to my HP C4780 printer. I had no problem installing and configuring this before on my previous computer, a Macbook. However, when I got my new computer (the Macbook Pro), my wireless network wont show up when I try and install the wireless capability during the printer setup. I had to buy a new router and set up a new network around the time I got my new computer, so I wonder if this has something to do with it. My wireless network is a WPA/WPA2 personal, but so was my old wireless network with the old router and I didn't have a problem installing the wireless. I thought I might not have had the most up-to-date driver for the printer software, but I do. So, i'm stuck! Any thoughts??

Go here and download all the manuals and read them on how to set up your printer.

  • Can I use a second Airport Express unit to printe wirelessly?

I have an Airport Express unit connected to my amplifier and my modem in order to listen to music wirelessly.  I would like to use my Cannon ip4300 printer the same way.  Can I use a second Airport Express unit to connect the printer to my modem?  If so, how is it done?  I am concerned about a conflict between the two Airport Express units.  Thank you.

I do just this with a ip4200 printer - you "extend" the Airport network with the second Airport then plug the printer into the USB port, (you could plug it into the USB port of the first Airport as well)
In the Airport utility (use 5.6 or 5.6.1) select the Printers tab and it should be there.

  • Slow wireless printing on HP Photosmart C4780

I am using the following hardware:
    HP Photosmart C4780
    Macbook Pro OS 10.6.7
    iMac OS 10.6.7
Linksys E2000 router (previously Netgear router)
When using the C4780 driver the wireless printing from both Mac computers is very slow and often won't finish on large jobs.  This was so frustrating that I went to using a long USB cable to print which worked just great.  I finally got fed up and went from an old Netgear router (802.11 b) to a new Linksys E2000 router.  The problem remained.
I read through the forums on this site and found that several people had success by using older HP Photosmart drivers.  I started with the HP P1100 driver and that worked great but color printing was poor quality.  I then read further that people had better luck with the HP Photosmart 2700 series driver.  I have switched both computers to this driver and things seem to work OK.  Printing is normal speed and I may be imagining things but I think the scanner capability hooks up quicker also.
Someone at HP thought it might be a router problem.  How could that be?  I am on the 2nd router from a different company and fixed the problem by changing the driver only.
    Here is my question:
Does HP have any plans to fix their HP Photosmart C4780 driver to work properly with OS X?  Given that I bought my printer with my Mac from the Apple online store I would think this is a priority but it has been months and no solution has showed up on any of the forums I have found.  Any help would be great.
    Thanks!

OK, first are you positive that the HP software you loaded on your Mac is compatible with 10.6?  That is a common mistake that has special, non-obvious ways to correct.
You could try to set a static IP address if the software is not an issue.
Please advise on the software and we will go from there.

  • Extremely slow wireless printing with HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m

I'm seeing extremely slow print speeds when printing wirelessly from a Mac or a Windows XP system to a new HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m printer. The printer begins printing immediately when I request a print, but it only prints one line. It will then take about 15 minutes to print the rest of the page, printing each line after a very long pause. Demo page printing doesn't exhibit this problem, only documents from programs like Word 2008, Safari and Firefox (tried firefox on PC and Mac) are affected.
If I connect to the printer through a USB connection it prints fine, so this problem appears to be with wireless printing only.
    Printer: HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m
Computer: Mac mini (Late 2009 model) (also tried a Windows XP laptop as a comparison, using latest drivers from HP's website)
OS: Mac OS X 10.6.2 with all available updates installed
Computer connection method: Wired Ethernet connection to wireless router
Printer drivers: version 2.2.1 (Apple supplied, HP drivers never installed as system shipped with 10.6)
Wireless router: Apple TimeCapsule (Early 2009) 1TB, running in a/n and b/g modes on 2.4 and 5GHz. TimeCapsule is in bridging mode as the DSL modem handles DHCP service
Encryption: WPA2 Personal, no MAC filtering or hiding of the SSID.
IP addressing scheme: All addresses are handed out by DHCP server with no reservations of any kind
The TimeCapsule is sitting three inches from the printer and the printer indicates full signal. Connection of the printer to the wireless network and setup of the printer on the Mac went without a hitch. Only when printing a test document did we discover the problem. The wireless network is behaving as expected when accessing the Internet from both Mac and Windows devices (tested with a Dell laptop running XP and a MacBook running OS X 10.6.2), so I don't see any overall problems with the wireless network.
    Attempted remedies:
    1. Rebooting and powering off, waiting, powering on computer
    2. Resetting the print subsystem, turning the printer off and on again and reinstalling the printer
    3. Unplugging power from the printer and letting it sit for several minutes before trying to print wirelessly.
    None of these worked.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the DSL modem HW.  There might be an issue with how print data is being routed though.
Please try the second experiment where you blank-out the default gateway and DNS entries from the printer's internal web configuration page.  Open the printer's internal web page by browsing to its IP address.  Select Networking and then Wireless (802.11).  Under the IPv4 Configuration tab, select Manual IP:
For Manual IP Address, use the existing printer IP address.
For Manual Subnet Mask, use 255.255.255.0
For Manual Default Gateway, leave blank.  This is important.
    Select Manual DNS Server:
Leave both the Manual Preferred DNS Server and Manual Alternate DNS Server fields empty.  This is important.
    Press Apply.
Turn off the DSL modem, the printer and all computers connected to your network.  Wait 60 seconds then turn on the DSL modem and then turn on the printer.  Then turn on the computers.  See if this corrects the printing speed.

  • Cannot print wirelessly w iBook G3, D-Link router, Brother wireless printer

I am having problems printing wirelessly from an iBook G3.
The printer is a Brother HL-2170W printer. It is a wireless printer, designed to print wirelessly with 802.11 b/g interface.
My network is simple: Two Macs, a G4 Quicksilver and a G3 iBook 700, both connected via a 802.11b router (D-Link DI-614+). The Quicksilver is connected to the router via wired; the iBook is connected wirelessly via an original Airport card. I run OS 10.2.8 on both Macs.
The printer prints fine to the G4 Quicksilver either when connected directly to the Quicksilver or when connected to the Quicksilver via the wireless router's Ethernet port.
I can "force" it to print to the iBook by enabling print sharing on the Quicksilver, but the Quicksilver has to be awake continuously for this to work, and it is a pain. The problem appears to be how to configure Rendezvous printing to work with the iBook.
Can anyone please help? This is the second time I have requested help for this issue. Thank you.

Does the older OS X version in use support bonjour (aka rendezvous)
and was this hoped-for configuration working together wirelessly?
The printer's drivers may prefer a newer OS X version, too.
Does the printer's software give you a fairly good control panel or
printer utility access in your Mac OS X system? You may be able
to configure some aspects of the printer's wireless function... Or
you may need to install software in the computer that won't see
the printer as a wireless item. This is sometimes a gray area.
Newer drivers may address some concerns, but also may only
be available for newer OS X versions; so 10.2 may lack support.
The Brother web site offers a driver and basic instructions here:

    Bonjour - Frequently asked Questions:
    http://developer.apple.com/networking/bonjour/faq.html
I know the AirPort express and AirPort extreme models (earlier than
the current 802.11/n+g series) would work well with iBook G3 and
both Jaguar and Panther, to USB print over a local wi-fi network.
Perhaps some searching by appropriate words may find some
other discussions or user forums on this topic, here & elsewhere.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Resolution - Printing HP LaserJet & Linksys Wireless Print Server WPS54GU2

    Hello Guys:
After trying to figure out for 10 days and calling HP, Applet and Linksys support, i finally am able to print to my printer.
I have iMac running Tiger 10.4.8. I have a HP LaserJet 1012 Printer connected in a USB Port to the Wireless Print Server WPS54GU2. This is what I did to get it working.
    First install the following drivers:
    1) Go to http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/hpijs/ and download hpijs-foomatic-2.0.2.ppc.dmg and espgs-7.07.1.ppc.dmg file. Install hpijs first and espgs second.
    2) After that Go to Server Preferences, Double click on Print/Fax.
    3) Click on the "+" sign, select Line Printer Daemon - LPD
    4) In the Address field, enter the IP address of your print server.
    5) In the Queue name (This is very important). I used L2 for USB. You can try P1, L1 as well. Not sure how you have connected to the print server. For me L2 worked. I had tried using L1 and P1 and it didn't work for me.
    6) The Name field should automatically be populated.
    7) In the Print Using, select HP and then select "HP LaserJet 1012 Foomatic/hpijs" as the printer or whatever driver you have for your printer.
    8) Click on Add
And now open up text edit or something and you should be able to print.
let me know if there are any questions.

Try Repairing permissions (Disk Utility). Then restart, then add again.
What do you mean by the printer doesn't show up - the driver (print using:)?
You can try the generic HP Photosmart P1100 Gimp-Print driver that comes in OS X.

  • Hp - photosmart e-all-in-one wireless printer cn731a- nothing prints??

    HP - Photosmart e-All-in-One Wireless Printer  (CN731A)
Went through setup on Windows 7 64-bit, printed the test photo, came out great.  Thought everything was good to go.  Later, when trying to print a document, it wouldn't print.  Computer popped up a message saying "Successfully printed" but when I went to the printer, there was nothing there.  I tried running a wireless network test on the printer's screen, and once that page printed with the results, immediately after that, the document I was trying to get finally printed.  This was an early Christmas gift for my parents, & my mom just informed me that she tried to print again today, but nothing happened on the printer.  I am out of town now and am not able to troubleshoot on my own on the printer like I did a couple days ago so came here for advice.. Any idea what the issue might be? Did I maybe miss a step after doing the test print of the photo?  Any ideas would be appreciated!

    Hello,
    Try the below steps ..
While the printer is ON, Unplug the power cord from back of the printer.
Disconnect all the cables that are connected to the printer.
    Wait for 30 seconds.
Plug in only the Power Cord. ( Printer would Power on ).
Try making a standalone Color copy of a document . If it fails to print a copy, then it could either be an issue with the Ink cartridges  or the Printer .
