Second screen - big delay in develop mode.

Hello,
I got a two Display Setup.
There is a huge delay when editing the pictures in Develop Mode from Screen 1 and 2. Its almost 2 Seconds delay to every change.
How can that be changed so its quicker.. I actually do not need the small image on the 1st sceen.

I tried opening it with Reader installed on the same machine and no change in time delay.
Independent of the file size I get the same delay.
I'm using AES 128.
After some debugging, I conclude that the delay is ocurring when the client waits for the server to send back the key (I think).
I sniffed the TLS traffic between the client and server and there is clearly a time lapse of more than 10 sec between the first exchanges(which is sending
information from client to server) and the last exchanges (getting info back). Do you have any clues on this ? What might cause the delay in response from the server ?

Hello,
I got a two Display Setup.
I like to have the current selected Image in "Develop Mode" Fullscreen on the big display and all the sliders on the smaller second Screen togeather with the overview of the Library.
How is that possible?

I've seen that in the past with other versions of LR. It usually means that your previews database has got messed up. Deleting all previews, previews.db and root-pixels.db, and clearing the acr cache, and then creating new previews solved it for me. It took a day or two (65K previews)

Developer Mode password lock screen bug

My dad and I just stumbled upon this bug that we wanted to let the community know about, should anyone run into a similar issue. Feel free to submit it as a ticket to the BB10/QNX development team as well.
I put my dad's Z10 into Developer Mode to do some testing, and used a basic 4 digit password that I use all the time. Once finished I turned off developer mode and turned off his screen using the lock button.
When he turned his phone back on, he was not able to log in using his own password. So we tried the developer mode password that I had used, and it also didn't work. He tried every possible password he's ever used, and one by one we watch as the password attempts countdown climbed.
At 6/10 we did a battery pull in the hopes it would start the counter over again. No such luck, it booted back up to 6/10. However, the counting then stopped. Password after password we entered, both repeats and new ones, it stayed at 6/10. We gave up and typed in "blackberry" to wipe it, but it didn't respond either. Connecting it to Link was also unsuccessful for a wipe, it was as if the phone was brain dead.
So in one last ditch effort we did a hard reset using the top and bottom volume rocker, and when the phone booted up he tried his lock screen password once more..... boom 7/10.... so then we tried my temporary development mode password and..... VOILA, we got into the phone.
Shortly before I enabled developer mode the phone was updated to 10.2.1.

It's hard to say if this is an actual bug or not or perhaps you just inadvertently changing the password to the developer one without realising, causing the several missed attempts including a possible mistyped developer password.

In Firefox now there is a 5 second screen delay in keyboard entry appearing on the screen (in Gmail). Much disk activity during this delay. This began about 10 days ago.

I'll wait. I think it is clear that the problem goes away when I restart laptop, and also after changing and accepting settings in Control Panel -> Keyboard. But next fn + func. key will again cause default settings

No audio when with second monitor attached and using Extend, Duplicate,or Second Screen Only modes

When I attached a second monitor via HDMI cable and try to use Duplicate, Extend, or Second Screen only display modes, I can get the video to display and run but I get no audio unless I set the notebook display settings to P/C Only mode. I really want to use the second screen for PowerPoint/Presenter View and play a embedded video (along with the sound). Even if I try to play a YouTube video I can only get audio when in P/C Screen Only mode. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,
Please disable HDMI sound to force audio back to the laptop or use different conection such as VGA or DVI. To diable HDMI sound, please right click speaker icon > playback devices > right click and disable HDMI sound.

Try disabling the GPU option: Preferences>Performance tab.
Probability is that some other app has enabled a setting (FPS?) on the graphics card which causes Lightroom a problem. So disable the setting in Lightroom first, to get you going again, then you can try to figure out what needs to be changed on your system to get it working again.

Downloaded Lightroom 6 and when my catalog got pulled in i can see the pictures, but when i try to go into develop mode i geta blue screen... how do i get rid of this??

Try updating the GPU drivers from the manufacturers website, in the meantime disable GPU processing and Develop module will show.

I mirror my Imac to the TV screen using Airparrot.
Why Do I see A big delay bitween the Imac and the TV screen?

My first thought is are you doing any user authentication? If you add an access policy for a subnet do you still get the 30second pause on non-cached sites?

Develop mode before and after shortcut for 2nd monitor?

I'm working in Develop mode and am trying to find the before and after shortcut for my 2nd monitor? the "\" shortcut works only on my main monitor. I am using my 2nd smaller monitor for color correction hence the need for the before and after option on my 2nd monitor.

I think, but I'm not sure, the only way to do that is to move the LR main screen to that second monitor. The before and after view always happen in the main LR screen.

Dynamically loading VIs on RT target in development mode

I am trying to cut down on memory usage in my RT application, and one of the methods I am exploring is replacing some of the larger subVIs with VI Server Call by Reference nodes. My problem is, I want to be able to debug the VIs in question when running in development mode, and it is my understanding that I can't debug a VI called dynamically. If so, I'd like to be able to switch between calling by reference (when compiled as an executable) and including as a subVI (when running in development mode).
I realize I could just throw an App.Kind property node on the block diagram with a case structure containing the subvi for "development mode" and the Call by Reference node for "Run-Time Engine", but my understanding is that the subvi will still be loaded into memory when the calling VI is called (by virtue of placing it in the block diagram), even if that case is never executed. Please feel free to enlighten me if I am incorrect about this!
If I am wrong about debugging dynamic VI calls--if it is possible to probe/highlight execution on a VI running by reference with the VI Server on an RT target--then I can skip the above issues and just call the VI dynamically all the time. However, I am then faced with the additional problem: how to I call a VI by reference on a remote target if the VI in question is not stored on the target's hard drive? When I compile the startup.rtexe, I can set the VI in question to "Always Include" and set the destination to within startup.rtexe, so I know the path to specify for the Call by Reference node. However, when running in development mode, where do I point the reference? The VI is saved on my Host PC. I assume when I deploy the main RT app in development mode, that the VI is then stored in memory on the RT target. So, in the latter case, what path can I use?

First of all, you can debug a VI called using a Call by Reference node. One trick is to programatically open the front panel before you do the call by reference. In addition, you can place a breakpoint in the diagram to force the block diagram open.
Second, dynamic calls can cut down on the amount of memory used at one time, but it doesn't come for free. Because the VI isn't loaded into memory until a reference to it is opened a large Vi can impose potentially significant delays while loading into memory.

Nano screens are delayed when clicking through

My Nano has had this issue and I don't know if this is normal or not. When I click through screens, often the next screen is delayed in popping up like a hesitation. I think it is more noticeable when a song is playing.
When I click the next screen it sometimes hesitates, then the whole screen appears redrawn. Is this normal operation for these ipods? I think I only am noticing it recently.
By the way I just updated to iTunes 7 and restored my ipod to factory settings. But I haven't seen any difference.
Also in previous versions of iTunes, if your library was bigger than the ipod a dialog box came up asking if you wanted iTunes to automatically create a playlist for you. There doesn't seem to be this option in 7, only a box that says there isn't enough room!

For the messages in iTunes when your library is too big: That could just be a software change in iTunes related to the new way to update your iPod in iTunes 7.
For the lag: How long is it taking? The iPod might not respond instantly, but it shouldn't take longer that 1/2 second to 1 second to respond if the iPod isn't doing anything. If it's doing something (you just disconnected it from the computer, loading notes, sometimes music, etc) then there might be a short delay.
The iPod shouldn't be stalling to the point where it stops in between switching menus.

My iPad IOS software is 8.2 and my Apple TV software is at 7.1. The TV displays the Apple Menu. The “Settings” does however displays the General menu allowing me to see:
Apple software: 7.1 (7003)
Apple TV: Model No. A1464, Part No. MD199B/A
Signal Strength shows 5 circles.
It does not display the iPad screen but when I use the BT Sport App I can hear the sound but there is no video. I have searched the internet for a solution to no avail. The problem first arose when the IOS was at 8.1+ but it worked correctly briefly when I updated to IOS 8.2. Can you help please?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
Restart your mobile device.

Corruption in LR Develop mode

Greetings,
I'm on a Mac Power PC running OS 10.5.5 with 6.5 GB RAM on LR 2.1. I am shooting with a Canon 1ds III on SanDisk Extreme IV 4.0 GB cards.
Sometimes I get a rainbow-colored corruption on part or most of an image while working with an image in the develop mode. I recently upgraded to LR 2.0 and was hoping that it would clear up what was happing in LR 1.0 but it has not.
The only good news is that when I restart the computer and then relaunch LR, the corruption disappears before my eyes. In other words, when the image is "loading" in LR's develop mode, the same corruption is there momentarily but then vanishes once the image has fully "loaded."
Any thoughts?
Let me know if I can provide more information as I'm sure I have not provided enough. I have a screen capture I can email (or post if I knew how).

I can't get your first link to work but what I get is a square or rectangular-rainbow-digital gobbeldigook usually starting from the lower right corner of the image covering anywhere from 5% to 90% of the image.
At the moment, I'm exploring the possibility that mine is RAM-related. I'm able to recover the flawed images after a restart. This points me to a problem with my Mac or the LR software. I could be wrong so take this with a grain of salt.
Anyway, I purchased online (for a buck and change) "Memtest OS X". It checks your RAM for errors/flaws. After running the program, it turns out I have a bad RAM chip in my desktop machine and so I have of course removed it. So far, with working all day today on post, I have had no problems (knock wood). This is by no means final in my mind however and I'm going to continue to cross my fingers and hold my breath for a little while every time I open an image in the develop mode of LR.
I hope this might lead you somewhere as well. I'll report back later after I've had some time to test the waters.

Want an option to having a REAL full-screen view when in writing mode in Word (as there was in 2003)

For the present Word version (365) I have not found a way to be able to use the entire/total/really full screen estate when using writing mode in Word. (Perhaps there is a way, not discovered by me yet?) But what I want both in Word 365 and foremost in the
next iteration of Word, is the option to choose - when in writing/editing mode - the entire screen real estate, with NO columns on each side of the screen and with NO Ribbon or other stuff on top and nothing at the bottom of the screen either.
This must be possible to establish as an option?!
The Word 2003 had such a feature, but it (completely?) disappeared as an option from 2007 and later, as far as I can see, and this lack of being able to choose using a totally blank screen, from bezel to bezel, with no other things than what you write on
it, is for me and many other writers, who often also use a machine with a rather small screen, a significant missing feature!
As I see it, the real estate that is "given away" to give space to the two vertical columns (to give a for me the unnessary and unwanted "impression/illusion" of having to deal with a sheet of paper placed on the middle of the screen),
this real estate should instead be used as a typing "place". In other words: Many writers and others would really like to be able to use ALL the screen from left to right and from top to bottom to be filled with letters and words!
Can and will this technically be done? So that we again (as in 2003) can be given the option to choose (real) full-screen view?
I would really like to get some positive feedback from developers and decision makers in the Word developer team at Microsoft about the possibility of re-establishing this now seemingly missing option.

IMac 21,5 2010 3,06GHz Second screen no max resolution

Hi there,
I have an iMac 21,5 3,06Ghz 2010-model. And an LG Flatron w2261VP. I want to connect this LG to my iMac, but when i do it gives a max res. of 1600x1200. This is not the native res. for this screen, the native one is 1920x1080. But when i select the 1600x1200 the screen goes black and says "out of range". However, when i connect the LG screen to my MacBook Pro 13" 2010 the screen automatically uses the 1920x1080 resolution and works flawlessly.. The resolutions i can select on my imac for my LG are: 640x480, 800x600, 1012x768, 1152x870, 1280x768, 1280x960, 1280x1024, 1344x1008, 1400x1050 and 1600x1200
I'm currently using the 1400x1050, can't select the higher one; screen goes "out of range"
I use a mini-displayport to VGA adapter.
My question is: Is it even possible to use a second screen with my iMac? Why does it work with my MacBook Pro and not with my iMac? Is it a bug? Do i need a DVI of HDMI? Anyone else suffering this problem?
