Second site displaying with first site's URL...

I have 2 sites that I'm creating and having purchased 2 seperate domain names for them I have successully uploaded the first one (BRAINCHILD GRAPHICS) which is now being hosted on mobileme. However, I'm having a few issues with getting the second one (GKR CREATIVE) uploaded and thought I'd bring something quite interesting that I've discovered to light:
When I 'visit' each of my sites whilst in iweb, in the address panel I get the following for both sites:
BRAINCHILD GRAPHICS: http://www.brainchildgraphics.com/BRAINCHILD_GRAPHICS/HOME.html
GKR CREATIVE: http://www.brainchildgraphics.com/GKRCREATIVE/Welcome.html
I could be wrong but should gkr creative be displaying as brainchildgraphics? and if so, why isn't it? Could this be the cause of my problems with uploading GKR CREATIVE?

All sites in one account can be reached via the personal domain name if you add the sitename to it. The short personal domain name goes to the topmost site in the iWeb site organizer, or perhaps the most recently published site if they are being published separately.
Also the "visit" function in iWeb is not always realiable. Use browser bookmarks for the urls for your sites to test what is happening with them.

How to get ALV Display with First column alone in sort

    HI,
You can build Internal Table and send this to the parameter "IT_SORT".
    eg:
"the sorting Internal Table structure is as whown below.
    DATA:  t_sort_info type slis_t_sortinfo_alv.
    "Build the Sort Internal Table
      t_sort_info-fieldname = 'CARRID'.
      t_sort_info-subtot = 'X'.
      append t_sort_info.
      t_sort_info-fieldname = 'FLDATE'.
      t_sort_info-subtot = 'X'.
      append t_sort_info.
Then pass this "IT_SORT_INFO" table to the Function module "Reuse_alv_*". (Note send the body of the Internal table only like "<b>IT_SORT = IT_SORT_INFO[]</b>".
Here i am making ALV output sorted on CARRID & FLDATE.
You can specify only the First Column name for sorting.

  • Why my email notification give me name of second task same with first task?

I create this workflow using SPD :
     If current item:Status equal Submitted
assign task to user (user need to complete the form given by admin)
then start approval process on form with approver
this workflow work correctly however, when I create second task, the e-mail notification that I received give me the first document name. for example, at first, I create 123 as documents name. then after the item being approved, I create another task for
user. the email sent to user and also me, is first document name which is 123, not the second task name. why is this happened?
    Cik Benny Lullaby

    Hi,
From your description, you create two tasks on one items. In the received email of the second task, it shows the document name but the second task name.
Please check that whether you have set the
Title of the “approval” task as the name of the second task.

  • Second site has the same URL as the first

Another plea for help! I have abandoned iWeb08 and reinstalled iWeb06. My main website works fine and is published to http://web.mac.com/brianswebsite. However, when I try to publish a second site, it goes to exactly the same place and overwrites my first site. How do I redirect the second site and prevent this happening please? If I can't resolve this issue, I will have to find another way of producing my second site for a local charity.

That's strange because all pages have the same value (top and bottom padding = 0px, width = 780px, height = 430px, header = 0px, Footer = 150px) but the are not the same length.
What is the maximum height you can put in?

  • Two Sites Published With iWeb...Viewers Get Error Message With Second Site

I have used iWeb to create two web sites. I believe I have done so properly, using File>New Site to begin creating the second site. After publishing, I can visit both sites from within iWeb.
Curiously, the message panel that displays after successful publishing indicates the same URL for both web sites. Obviously, that's wrong. That address will open the first site properly (after automatically adding additional characters to the URL during opening), but is incorrect for the second site. As an alternative, I have visited both sites from within iWeb, and copied the URL from the browser window as the "proper" address.
When I use the copied URL's in my own browser, I can navigate to each of the websites properly. However, when I give those URL's to someone else, they get an error message that the second site cannot be found using the URL for the second site that I obtained using the "copying" technique described. That's the case even though both URL's work properly from my computer and browser.
Any suggestions as to what might be wrong?

Mount your iDisk and go to the iDisk/Web/Sites folder and delete your friend's site folder that's there. The example below shows many site folders in the Sites folder.

  • Help with second site!!!  Please read

I have a quick question and "how to". I created a second site for a class (site 2) that I teach. The first site (Site 1) is my personal webpage. I have transfered the whole "domain" to my new work computer and want to only have/publish the class site (site #2) on the computer. If I delete the other pages off the iWeb page (ie delete all of site1) will that permanently erase that material? Or am I OK b/c it is still on my computer at home. Any thoughts on how to do this right?

Maybe I can simplify the question. Can I delete the site 1 pages without erasing them permanently?

  • Second site... what am I doing wrong?

I have searched for this topic, but cannot find anything dealing specifically with what I am having problems with.
I have made a second site. I have tried to upload and I can not see it in my browser. All I can find is my first site.
NOW HERE IS THE KICKER, unlike others who have had this problem with .mac, I am trying to upload it to my server at work.
Also, my first site is a podcast and takes a while to upload, so is it possible to upload ONLY my second site?
    Thanks
    Randy

I assume you are developing your two sites within the same Domain file. Therefore, when you use "Publish to Folder" in iWeb, both of your sites would be published into the same folder. So you would end up with 3 things inside your folder. An "index.html" file and then two folders representing your two sites. Now, inside each of these two folders, you should see that each of your sites has its own index.html file. So when you upload your sites, you should upload these two folders to the appropriate location. In order to see one site or the other, you would have to specify their URLs with the following format...
    http://www.yourserver.com/folder1name/
    http://www.yourserver.com/folder2name/
Before you probably uploaded the outer index.html file as well as the site folder to your server so that all you had to type was...
    http://www.yourserver.com/
...and you would get to your first site. The problem is that with more than one site, that outer index.html file always points to the default start page (whichever site is listed first in the iWeb Site Organizer). Now, it's fine if you uploaded it...just know that you have to use the following URLs...
http://www.yourserver.com/ <== this defaults to the first site
http://www.yourserver.com/folder2name/ <== this would bring you to the second site
Hopefully, this is clear to you. Try out the second URL and see if you can access your second site. I'll bet everything is fine.
If any of this is useful information to you, please do me a favor and mark my reply as "solved" or "helpful" using the little buttons that you see in the title bar of this reply. I would appreciate it. Thank you.

  • Cannot "visit" second site.

I have a personal domain website and I am trying to put together a second website but not with a personal domain. When I "publish" the second and then "visit" I get my first site instead. I am able to reach the site with the url.
Also, am I correct in saying the second site cannot be a private site?
    RJN40

Do as Old Toad suggested and visit your site using the MobileMe URL.....
    http://web.me.com/username/sitename/
Then bookmark it for future visits.
If you want to be able to visit the second, and subsequent sites, using the Visit button you need to build them on separate domain files. See....

  • Second Site not showing up, why?

I have made a second site and published it along with republishing my first (happened automatically).
My first site is www.fowlplaygoosepatrol.com, the second is www.fowlplaygoosepatrol.com/BorderBay_JunctionFarm
I cannot see or visit the second site. Tried refreshing, changing browsers, even another computer.
Tried to change the order of sites. No difference. I bought both domains and have a redirect in place from www.fowlplaygoosepatrol.com to my .Mac account, I have the second domain ready (borderbayjunctionfarm), but have not instituted the redirect yet since it doesn't seem to be working. No matter what I do it goes to the original first page of FPGP.
I am using iWeb 08, though the original site was done on the first version. It was updated when I first opened it in 08.
Any help would be appreciated. Also the Google maps would not take my address, it kept defaulting to Apple's address.
    Thanks,
    Greg

I can open your first & second Site:
    http://web.mac.com/greggel/FowlPlay_Goose_Patrol/AboutUs.html
    http://web.mac.com/greggel/BorderBay_JunctionFarm/FARM.html
When you want to visit a site, select the Sitename in the iWeb navigation pane on the left and click visit site.
Just focus on iWeb and dotMac.
All these GoSillyDaddy forward marquerading domains and wotnot only complicate matters.

  • I published a website using iWeb.  I began using iWeb to create a second site and now I can't find my original site's work on my Mac.

I published a website using iWeb.  I began using iWeb to create a second site and now I can't find my original site's work on my Mac.

If you're publishing directly from iWeb 3 to your FTP server then you'll have the following in your accounts root directory:
    Site 1 folder
    Site 2 folder
    Site 3 folder
index.html file from last published site directling to the last published site.
If you want to keep Site 1 as the primary site you'll need to publish it one more time to the server so you get it's index.html file uploaded.
Now you'll have to publish Sites 2 and 3 to a folder on the hard drive and use a 3rd party FTP client like Cyberduck, YummyLite or Transmit  to upload only the site folder (and not its external index.html file with it).
The url to sites 2 and 3 will be:
    http://doman_name.com/Site 2
    http://doman_name.com/Site 3

  • OAM Second Site Issue

I'm running into an issue with OAM forcing users to re-authenticate to the application they are logged into when I access a second site protected by OAM.
I'm using the same forms authentication scheme setup for both sites. I access site 1 first and log in. Then site 1 has a link that pops up a new window that takes the user to the second site. The user gets logged in automatically to the second site without any issues. But when I try to do anything in site 1, it forces me to re-authenticate.
I've read on metalink that if the shared secret is corrupted that this could occur, but I regenerated the shared secret and restarted all the OAM components but still run into this issue.
Both sites are in the same domain. Is there something I need to do with the policy of the authentication level?

Thanks for the response. Both sites are using the same webgate, and timeout is set pretty high since this is dev. The authentication level is the same as is the directory store.
I'm using the same form login auth scheme for both sites. I'm going to try creating two different form logins and adding the redirect to see if that will help.

  • Second site-can't find it

I created a second site on iweb and published it. But, I can only visit this site through the "visit" button on iweb. If I go to my page on .mac, there is no sign of the second site. And if I put in the address that iweb gives me, it directs me to the first site.

    Kathryn...
Max is on the right track here, but I believe he has left out an important part of the URL. The correct URL format is as follows...
    http://web.mac.com/username/iWeb/nameofsite1
    http://web.mac.com/username/iWeb/nameofsite2
    http://web.mac.com/username/iWeb/nameofsite3, etc, etc...
username = your .Mac account username
nameofsiteN = whatever your sites are named
Your previous short iWeb URL: http://web.mac.com/username only leads to the default start site, which (if you've got all your sites together in iWeb) is the one listed at the top of your Site Organizer listing in iWeb. If you want another site to come up when your short iWeb URL is entered, just drag another site to the top of the list and publish.

  • Adding a second site

I want to add another site using iWeb. I currently have my personal site up but want to add a new business site with a domain name I purchased. How do I add another site without changing the setting of my personal site?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Does your personal site have a domain name? If it does then add the second site in iWeb so it appears just below your current personal site. When ready publish (I'm assuming you're publishing to a MMe account, correct) the site.
Since a MMe account can have only one site using CNAME forwarding you will have to use URL forwarding for the business site. Forward the domain name to http://web.me.com/YourMMe_Account_Named/SiteName with or without domain name masking.
If your personal site does not have a domain name then move the business site to the top in iWeb and publish. Now you can use the CNAME method of domain name forwarding because only the top site can use CNAME.

  • SEO friendly site search urls

We have the site search module set up but it returns unfriendly looking urls for all the results despite us having SEO friendly urls for each catalogue and product. Is there some way to rectify this?

I found this question while trying to solve a somewhat related question.
We needed the urls for the pages to be clean when they arrive at the page in order to drive some specific scripting.
    Basically:
    page loads
    script checks the page's url
if the path matches a certain parameters, perform a certain functions
The issue we were running into, was that when people came on to a page from the search results page
the url would look like this:
          http://www.website.com/Default.aspx?PageID=45247074&A=SearchResult&SearchID=3759787&ObjectID=35247074&ObjectType=1
which prevented the scripting from working correctly.
The work around we came up with was using the {module_breadcrumbs,} module in a hidden span on the page and having our script key off of that.
It certainly wouldn't help any SEO issues but if you were solely looking to make the page display it's human friendly url, that module and some relatively simple JS would work.

  • Original site gone after publishing second site

I recently published a temporary site with a password to view it in addition to my main web site. I later deleted the second site, but now my main site is not on the web. The sign-in page for the temporary site has replaced it, even though I've deleted the second site from iWeb. How do I get my original site back? I publish to Mobile Me, but with my own domain name. I tried republishing the entire site.

First clear your browser's cache (Command+Option+E for Safari) and reload your site.
If the above didn't help, mount your iDisk and go to the iDisk/Web/Sites folder.  There look for a file titled "index.html".  Delete it.  Go back to iWeb and republish the entire site.
