Second Window Appears in 11.03 with iPhone Connected

Every time I have my iPhone connected to iTunes 11.03, a second, unwanted iTunes window will appear. There is no controlling the window as in that I cannot close it, resize it, minimize it, etc. The only way to close it is to un-minimize the player and then close it, minimize it, etc. However, sure enough, a few minutes later, it will reappear.
This never happened in earlier versions and nothing has changed. The iPhone is simply charging and am just working on other apps as normal.
I have check for updates unchecked.
This only happens when the iPhone is connected.

I was hoping an update to my iTunes and iOS would have changed something but nope. I am now on iTunes 11.1.0.126 and iOS 7.0.2. Same problem but something strange has happened. Now when I attempt to sync a TV show to my iPhone, iTunes initially shows it being added to the purple Video section of the usage bar. But once the sync is done, the size of Video reverts back to where it was and the increase actually goes into the blue Audio section of the usage bar, after it finishes syncing. When I expand my iPhone view to the left I still see the show under "TV Shows" though. And I still don't see it in Video nor Music on my phone. But I found it interesting that even though iTunes initially added it to the Video section of the Usage, it puts it under the Audio section once it's done syncing.

Hi Brett, thank you for answering!
I believe I have it set up to sync with iTunes, because for the first time today I plugged in my iPhone to my Macbook Pro and iTunes and iPhoto started up... I then saw "syncing with iPhone" on top of iTunes.
Is there a setting I need to configure (on either my iPhone or the programs themselves) to have it sync with my address book and calendar?

  • Windows 7 Won't work with GT704WGB - Connects, but can't access internet or ping router

    Upgraded my Verizon DSL.
I replaced an old WireStream DLS router and NetGear wireless access/router with Verizon's GT704WGB.
After  I replaced it, Wireless connections from Windows 7 no longer work.
    Help. Any ideas?
    1. The GT704WGB installation seemed to be easy and successful.
    2. I have 3 devices and 4 operating systems
        a. An iPhone - It connects to my wireless network and works fine.
        b. An Acer lap-top running Windows XP service pack 2 - It connects to my wireless network and works find.
        c. An Hp Pavilion lap-top running Ubuntu Linux
             i. It connects to router via cable and works fine.
ii. It connects to router wirelessly and works fin.
        d. The same Hp Pavilion when booted to Windows 7 doesn't work wirelessly.  :-(
             i. It connects via cable to router and works fine
ii. When I disconnect cable and connect wirelessly IT DOESN'T WORK. :-(
What happens is Windows reports the the wireless adapter has connected to the network, but says it is NOT CONNECTED TO INTERNET. Further I can't ping the router, 192.168.1.1. I have checked the IP4 properties and settings for the adapter. They seem
    fine.
    1. Adapter has an address on the network.
    2. DHCP is enabled.
    3. Gateway is provided automatically  by DHCP
    4. DNS is provided automatically by DHCP.
Pinging router gets no response. Attempting to resolve a name, www.google.com reports unable to resolve name.
All of this works perfectly when directly cabled to router.
Any help with how to troubleshoot this would be appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Solved my own problem. Sorry for the spam. :-)
Windows does not support multiple gateways. I had foregotten I had a 2nd wireless access point/router plugged into the network (Cisco/Linksys E1000). That router had been working fine in combination with old SpeedStream DSL router from Verizon, but apparently it introduced a second gateway address which was in conflict with GT704WGB.
    Solution:
    1. Unplug Cisco E1000. Reset it to factory settings by pushing red button.
    2. Plug Cisco E1000 back into network.
    3. Use Cisco CD and setup.exe to "install" E1000.
    4. Use Cisco CD and Cisco Connect to reconfigure E1000.
    5. Done.
All devices working with all OS's including Windows 7.

  • PowerBook runs HOT with iPhone connected

Has anyone else observed their computer running hot (fans rev up real fast!) while their iPhone is connected? I'm still waiting for "the new at&t" to get my activation unclogged, so maybe it's just because my iPhone is still in a pre-activated mode, but whenever I connect it to my 12" PowerBook G4, the computer starts heating up and revving its fans like it is working REALLY HARD. A check of the Activity Monitor shows that the CPU is below 10% and there are no unusual messages flooding the console.log or system.log ...
    Anyone else seeing this?

Yes, my PowerBook revs up even when both it and the iPhone are idle (screenlocked even-- the iPhone not the PowerBook!)
But you have a point.. maybe the problem has something to do with the PowerBook's power management chip. I'll try following Apple's PMU reset procedure tonight when I get home. While I'm at it, I'll try an Open Firmware reset too.
    I'll post my findings..
Thanks everyone for your help on this!
My fiancee's iPhone connects to her 1.25 GHz 12" PB
without the rev-up problem most of the time. But it
does rev up when it's doing anything remotely
computationally intensive, like resizing photos. If
yours is doing that just from being connected, that
is strange. What is the internal temperature of the
PB? (There are some programs and dashboard widgets
that will tell you, I think - not sure what
thermometers the 12" PB has.) Maybe you have a vent
    blocked or something.
This might be becoming a question for the 12" PB
messageboard - maybe it's a general problem with
high-drain USB devices on some models?
Have you tried hooking up the iPhone through a
powered USB hub? That would perhaps isolate if it's
a current-drain issue. Maybe this is a symptom of
other power-supply problems with the PB.

  • Office 2010 Windows 7,  Notes not syncing with iPhone 5 using WiFi

My Notes on my iPhone 5 will not sync to/from Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 using WiFi.  Works only on USB cable   Using itunes 11.2.2.3
Do not want to use iCloud, except for Find My iPhone.

Update: I reset settings on the phone, then synced with no results.  Then, I wiped all the music from the phone, then resynced with my selected music.  This time it all synced.  I am not sure which step fixed the problem, but it appears to be fixed for now.

I sync iPhone at office without any issue (only outlook notes and applications), but plenty of issues when I try to sync at home with Windows 7 (mainly music, videos and photos): Error -69999, can't sync: too many archives opened, can't find the file... Most times I lose all the applications and info in iPhone and must start from cero.

  • Solve for Windows 8.1 Running iTunes with iPhone 5

After SEVERAL hours of trying (and failing) to get iTunes (v. 11.1.5) to recognize my iPhone 5, I think I FINALLY found a solution!
    1) Go to your Control Panel and find Uninstall a Program
    2) Delete EVERYTHING that is associated with Apple Devices (Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support, and Apple Software Update)
    3) Uninstall iTunes
    4) Download and SAVE (do not "run") iTunes64setup (iTunes 11.1.5.5). This one specifically says it is an update that "resolves an issue with typing Japanese text in the iTunes Store and fixes a  problem that may cause iTunes to quit unexpectedly when a device is connected."
    5) Reboot your computer
    6) Go to your Downloads folder and install iTunes (v. 11.1.5.5). I had my phone plugged in during the install - not sure if that made a difference or not.
When I opened iTunes, everything reappeared like it used to, including my sync and backup/restore options for my phone.
Hope this helps SOMEONE!! Because I had tried pretty much EVERYTHING out there on all the discussion boards.

This apparently would be possible if the server is running the HP ePrint Enterprise server. HP has an app that then allows an iOS device to print to it. There may be other, similar services, though I haven't found any. Perhaps someone else will know.
This is the iPad forum, by the way.

First, you should have continued the discussion on the original thread. Users here do not get some type of notification when you use their name, unless it is a thread they have been contributing to.
Second, you will not get someone from Apple here, this is a user to user forum. While I cannot answer your question, I'll see if I can get Linc's attention in a forum area for senior users.

  • SSRS 2012 - Windows Server 2012 R2 issue with OLEDB Connection String

Hoping someone can help. As stated above, we are running SQL Server 2012 with SP1 on Windows Server 2012 R2. When I create a Data Source as follows in Reporting Services, I receive the following error message. Any thoughts on why this fails? The same data

    Hi ABAA101,
According to your description, when you use csv file as data source in SSRS 2012 report, you got the error message.
I tested the issue in my local machine, due to some policy restrictions, I could not install Access in my local machine. To workaround the issue, we can use the connection string like below:
    Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=C:\\report;
    Extended Properties="text;HDR=Yes;FMT=Delimited"
The csv file is stored in report folder in C driver.
In Query text box in the dataset, we can use the query like below:
    Select * from new.csv
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Windows Server 2003 and problem with SSL connection (TLS)

    Hi,
We are forcing a problem with SLL/TLS connection on a machine Windows Server 2003 SP2.
We spent hours trying to solve it without any result.
    SYMPTOMS
No SSL connection can be established in any application since last year, e.g.:
we cannot do any windows update, because there is a time verification over SSL on the windows update website (there is an error that the time is incorrect while it is up-to-date)
we cannot open any website in Internet Explorer over https
when we try to connect to the SQL Server (database SQL 2008 hosted on the same server) with Management Studio it fails with an error: "A connection
was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the pre-login handshake.(provider: SSL Provider, error: 0 - Could not
    contact LSA)(Microsoft SQL Server)"
in a custom applications which sends requests over https we receive an error: "Could not establish trust relationship for SSL/TLS secure channel"
Everything seems to point at some SSL problem somewhere deep inside Windows.
We installed several patches, but without any result.
    Can anybody help?
    Regards,
    Dawid

    Hi, thanks for answers,
    - In IE both SSL2.0 and TLS1.0 are checked. We tried to disable TLS1.0 - with no results.
    - In  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\Schannel both SSL2.0
and TLS1.0 are enabled. We also tried to dislable TLS1.0 on the Client side - with no resuts.
    - In
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL EventLogging is set to 3, so it should log warnings
and errors. But we cannot find any related logs in EventLog
Unfortunately we are still in the same place.

  • When closing 2 windows(with multiple tabs each), system restore does not properly restore the second window's tabs. Is this a bug in the new update/any ideas to fix?

I regularly use 2 windows with multiple tabs each and session restore would work to get them all back, but after this latest update the second window does not restore properly, with the first tab not visible on top(only in drop down menu) and the add a tab button now on the left(instead of right). The add a tab button is not really concerning other than it indicates other problems with the tabs on tab of the 2nd window. Not having the 1st tab visible is frustrating, because I can not move it or as easily navigate. Also, the tabs on top of the 2nd window that are visible no longer have the "x" to close visible unless that tab is selected. I'm assuming this is a problem with the new release/update, since this is the first time I've ever encountered the problem, and I've shut down and restored Firefox a few times to make sure this was a recurring problem and not a one-time deal. Any ideas on how to fix would be welcome(other than perhaps cramming my tabs onto one window or sucking it up XD).
