Secondry Resource confirmation
Dear All.
We are using Process Order, for some phases we have assigned secondry resources. If my yield quantity is 100 Kg then i require 10 Hr in phase & also in secondry resources while confirmation of phase if i do partial confirmation for 50 Kg system automatically calculate activity of 5 Hr like same if i confirm secodry resource there is no option of yield quantity so that it always consider as 10 Hr so please suggest is it possibel to active yield field in confirmation of secondry resources for calculating activity???
Regards..
Dear Dev123,
If my understanding is correct, then this secondary resources are the additonal resources that are required for processing an
activity when an operation /phase is carried. The system only helps in capturing the cost for performing additonal activities and
not any yield against the secondary resources.
If my understanding is correct then the system does not considers the secondary resources even during order scheduling. You
can check the same in the time calculations during order scheduling.
You can check the same behaviour in the T.code COR6N/COR6.

Hi All,
I am BW consultant.Interested in PLM .Could you please tell about PLM and if I want learn PLM what shall i do? This module comes under functional or technical?
Thanks,
RakeshHi Rakesh,
There are different tracktion for PLM in SAP
1. <b>Product Data Management</b>
which covers Material Management, Bill of Material, Document Managment System, Classification System, Variant Configurations, CAD Interfaces. etc.
Most of the Industries will be using these cross application components for their Engineering Departments.
2. <b>Program Management</b>
Where Entire Program is capture i.e. From Customer Enquirry to the Order execution and till Dispatch.
Here again Project System, CFolder, CProjects, DMS, MM, BOM, Workflow etc can be a part of the PLM
3. <b>Asset LifeCylce Management</b>
This is used in different Scenarios where companies wants to trace there assets
or lifecycle of their assets.
Project Systems and DMS will be mostly involved.
4.<b> Quality Managment</b>
Strictly Speaking PLM Products are used in R& D Department, Engineering Department, Design & Drafting Departments of the Companies/organizations,
Where they try to modify their existing Products, try to Design as per the customer requirements, Try to launch new Product by doing R & D works.
PLM is Mostly used in these Departments of the Organizations

Hi Guys
I am have working on PDM(Team center), VPM(Enovia DPM) and Catia V5 since 2 years now and I am planning to change to SAP PLM. Can any one help me Do i need to Have knowledge in any other things other then PDM, VPM to start up with SAP PLM.
If I want to take p my certification in SAP PLM where can i get it,( Do i need to contact Siemens for it or i can try with some other place)
Your help will be Appreciated
PradeepHi Pradeep,
1.As you have worked in PDM (Team Center), and other CAD packages, you will be knowing the Functional processes/activities involved in the PLM which is very much required to learn and give solutions in SAP PLM.
2. As you must have worked with BOM, Documents, workflows, Organizational hierarchies, Roles & Responsibilities (Draftsmen, Junior/Assist Design Engineer, Design Engineer, Project Manager etc etc) and their authorizations.
3. So with these things it is very easy to learn & work with SAP PLM, if you are currently working in non-sap or any functional domain, you can join any SAP implementation company as a Trainee or Fresher and get trained on SAP
or there are many training institutes which train SAP even for 25-30K without certification. (You will get a fare idea about what SAP is )
Even SAP PLM starts with PDM Objects like, Material Master, Document Managment System, Engineering Change Managment (Versioning/Revisioning for BOM, MM, DIR), Bill of Materials, Classification System (Classes, Characteristics, Object Dependencies etc) all this are PDM Objects in SAP.
And there is Collaboration Projects, Collabortion Folders and CAD Integrations. etc these all together constitutes a SAP PLM

E52 Advanced Communication Manager Lost!
Hello Everyone
Although I am a very very happy person with my E52, I had to reset my phone [using the *#7370# command] ](to refresh it after 2 yrs of continuous usage) and format my microsd (due to file corruption) in order to fix some problems I created on the phone.
Everything is working excellent again , but I have completely lost the Advanced Communication Manager programme!
From what I read it is built in the firmware so how can it be lost and how do I get it back?
I have downloaded the programme from Nokia but it says it is limited version (???)
Any ideas anyone
Thank you allThis resource confirms that Advanced Communication Manager was installed upon memory card in case of E52:http://melonmobile.com/CompanyMenu/News.aspx?news_id=43

Advanced Communication Manager bug!
Hi all,
New day, new bugs. This time i found an irritating problem in Adv. Com. Mgr. version 1.00 (37) which is built-in my E55's latest firmware. The problem is, if you try to create a blacklist by adding numbers manually (not from contacts or logs), you WON'T be able to define same number with 'different' area codes.
I mean, let's assume you defined a blacklist entry like this:
Name: A1
Number: +907851234567
Action: Block
...choose 'option' and 'add' to append list with new entry like this:
Name: A2
Number: +905901234567
Action: Block
...will result in a case that area (region) difference will be dismissed! A1 will be overwritten by A2 because main number '1234567' is the same though area codes are different(590 and 785)! That's not good!
You can try to reproduce the same!
Comments are appreciated.

Task and resource management - Task confirmation from supervisor
Hello,
we are implementing TRM. We would to like give to th supervisor the possibility to confirm task using monitor. This can be useful in case of downtime of mobile devices.
Currently it's possibile to confirm from the alert monitor only the tasks with status force confirmation (status = 7). In this case from a WM pont of view the picking is already cofirmed and through monitor it's possibile to confirm the task and so the putaway from WM point view
So we need to develop a functionality that confirm task indipendently from the TRM status and WM status..
I found the function LTSK_TASK_CONFIRM but it seems that doesn't work.
Have you any suggestions for the functionality or sample code to launch the function module LTSK_TASK_CONFIRM?
i think it's very strange that SAP hasn't developed a method in order to confirm a task and then TO without using mobile device.
Regards,
AndreaHi Andrea,
Why don't you just use tcode LP00? You will log on to your device/resource element as if you are logging on to a scanner. This tcode then simulates the scanner screens on your SAP terminal and you can confirm all tasks as per correct scanning functionality.
Cheers,
Hein -
Network resource wise confirmation
Dear All
Is it possible to confirm production on resource network? Such as I have a plant that contains three parallel resources producing same product. I want to create a single process order and enter Goods movement for individual work centers production.
Please let me know if is it possible and how to do it?
regardsGoods movements are done for the order; there's no way to distinguish between the individual WCs. The only way would be to have the manufactured material batch managed and enter the WC info in the classification of the batch. Not recommended, if you have other options.

Change in resource in Confirmation
Dear All,
Scenerion is at the time of Confirmation actual operation is done on diffrent resource that planned resource in Process order. If i confirm the process order using the actual resource(A) which is diffrent from resourcer (B) in process order, system is booking cost for the resource (b). I couldn ot getting correct cost .How can correct this.
And is this the right procedure?

How to load the resource bundle message on confirmation popup
hi every one
i am using java script confirmation message on my delete button.
this is my sample for that one
<h:commandButton action="#{createCurrency.removeCurrency}"
onclick="if (!confirm('Are you sure to delete this value?')) return false" value="#{messages.Delete}"/> i need to load the "Are you sure to delete this value?" from resource bundle.
is there any way to load above message from resource bundle.
thiagu.mIf you're using JSF 1.2, you can add the bundle config in your faces-config.xml file like this:
<resource-bundle>
<base-name>mypackage.i18n.MessageResources</base-name> // i18n is shorthand for internationalization
<var>msg</var>
</resource-bundle>
<locale-config>
<default-locale>en</default-locale> // or whatever locale you preferred
<supported-locale>...</supported-locale> // other locale defined here if you need them
</locale-config>Then create a property file called "MessageResources_en.properties. In this file, you can define something like:
{code}
MSG_CONFIRM=Do you wish to delete this value?
// add other messages here. Syntax is: key=value
{code}
Then reference the bundle's message in your form as per normal:
{code}
!confirm(#{msg.MSG_CONFIRM}))
{code}
I haven't tried the above codes but it should help you get started.

MRS (Multi Resource Scheduling) - Show operation status in Planning Board
Because the current MRS thread is some long and complicated I chose to move this question into a seperate thread:
Initial question:
Like many companies, it is not unusual at my customer for their Planners to create orders with multiple operations, particularly since many orders require different crafts to perform the work. When the Planning Board is launched and Planners lok at work scheduled for the past week they want to be able to see at a glance which operations have been completed and which operations, perhaps from the same order, have not and may need to be rescheduled. Their preference is to select "final confirmation" when using transaction IW41 and thereby set the operation system status to CNF when the work on an operation has been completed. They then want to somehow use this CNF operation status to drive something visual in the graphical Demand layout display and Resource layout display to enable the Planner to see at a glance that the operation has been completed. I've tried several approaches with configuration of abstract statuses and the user interface profile without success. My customer's interest in being able to see the completion status of an operation in the MRS Planning Board makes a lot of sense to me. I'm hoping someone can help me with a technique for modifying the Planning Board so that it displays the completion status of an operation in a visual way.
Response from Varun Verma:
Hi Mark,
The problem at your customers end is nothing new.
What you can do ( many other customers have done it in similar way ) is:
1) you integrate the status CNF into MRS.
Check the customizing: Basic Settings -> Assign ERP Objects -> Status
2) configure in MRS that for status CNF, the assignments and demands (only in item work list or Hotlist) is colored to GREEN (or any other color)
Check customizing: Set Up Scheduler Workplace -> Workplace Profiles -> Define User Interface Profiles
Thus the users will know visually, that the green colored assignments are already completed.
By the way, in your work list you can also filter the demands based on their status
Regards
Varun.
Followup question:
Varun,
Thanks for the response. I thought I had tried this but perhaps it's because in the UI profile I had not entered something in both the status groups for assignments and the status groups for demands. I have a bit more testing to do but it appears that the demand status now gets updated from the operation status of PCNF (linked to abstract status WORK_START) and CNF (linked to abstract status WORK_STOP). I also get a red bar (C4) for PCNF and a green bar (C1) for CNF. Do you have a better status group I should be using in place of C1 and C4? Status groups C1 and C4 give me a bar but it doesn't look like the demand bar with a outline and alphanumeric description of the demand, it's just a colored bar.
I know the work list can be filtered based on their MRS "planning" status, however, it doesn't appear to permit filtering by the status of the operation unless I add the operation status as an additional field in the worklist. Is there something I'm missing here? And even if it did, my customer wants to be able to see the CNF status indication in the Demand layout and schedule using the work centers so the worklist is not being shown like it is in the Resource layout.
Mark
Edited by: Mark Scott on Aug 10, 2009 3:35 PMHi Mark,
Well I assumed that you have confirmations integration active !! But I guess not because you say that the status is not integrated always.
What you need to do:
1) I assume you have SP05 or later.
2) Implement the user exit: CONFPM05. In the implementation of this exit you need to call FM: /MRSS/RSG_PM_ORDER_CONFIRM
3) Go to customizing: Basic Settings --> Assign ERP Objects --> Status
-- Here, define an abstract status (MRS Status) for confirmed and partially confirmed
-- map it to R3 status CNF and PCNF.
After this, whenever you enter confirmation for PM order from transaction IW41, the status will be integrated.
Now you can use the MRS statuses defined in step 3 to configure the colors.
Implementing the user exit CONFPM05 might require some technical input. But it is easy. Just a few double clicks and copy paste.
Contact an ABAP developer for the same.
This should solve your issue.

Problems rebooting: "couldn't lock for reboot: Resource busy"
Hi there,
I'm having trouble rebooting my Xserve G4. The server has been up for 128 days, and a previous admin had installed some software updates, and I recently applied several new ones including 'Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 5', QuickTime 7.6.6 and Safari 4.0.5.
It appears it's been trying to reboot ever since the first set of updates, but is not able to. What is strange is that even after having applied the updates mentioned, Server Admin still lists these same software updates as new, uninstalled updates, and asks me to install them.
Also, the CPU usage is running at around 60%, and diskarbitrationd and kextcache seem to be the main CPU hogs.
I have tried asking the machine to reboot through Server Monitor, and it fails, stating:

Schedule lines - Confirmed quantity issue
Hi
I have a make to order material which is purchased from a vendor. A purchase requistion is automatically created every time it is quoted in a sales order.
In a particular case, I had 1 such material which was not in inventory and which could be used while delivering a particular sales order. I posted goods reciept using movement type 501 - E and received it as a part of sales order stock.
Now when I go to the schedule lines screen in the sales order, it shows confirmed quantity as '0' (See screen shot below) and therefore I am not able to deliver this sales order.
Availability check is configured as in the following screen shot
[http://i44.tinypic.com/290swwg.jpg]
How can I get a confirmed quantity of 1 in the schedule line. Why is not SAP recognizing 1 in sales order stock?
Please help me with this issue.
Regards,
KetanKetan,
The config is acceptable.
SAP generally does not let you enter confirmation quantities manually.
This issue is that you have said you have RELEVANT (sales order relevant) stock on hand, and you cannot get a confirmation.
Now you are saying when you do the ATP check, it does 'nothing'. I am going to assume that you have already checked that the item of the sales order is not rejected.
Normally, during an ATP check, you should have gotten a proposal screen, which will show that 0 or more pieces are available for confirmation. If only zero is available, the system only will give you an icon on this proposal screen which says 'Continue'. You still should get this screen! Since you haven't gotten this screen, There is probably one of three things wrong. Either you have something missing in ATP config, or you have an authorization issue, or you have a userexit that is interfering with the ATP check.
SD ATP settings and config is not simple, and neither is debugging a userexit. This is not an MM issue, this is SD. Consult with your SD team to determine your next step. Or, if you have no SD resource, you should probably repost this message on an SD forum.

Resource Center - Need to change a Local Resource to an Enterprise Resource
The Resource Record for a resource was accidently deleted. This resource was still assigned to active project tasks at the time of the delete. A new Resource Record was created but it has the resource as a Local Resource. How can I move
this resource back to the Enterprise Resource Pool?
As a Local Resource the Assignment Owner field on his assigned tasks are not populating, so he cannot see any tasks on his timesheets. Also, the resource cannot be assigned to any new project tasks because he cannot be added to the Project Enterprise
Pool.
Attempted to remove the Resource Record that was created using Delete Enterprise Objects -> Resources and Users but since the resource is Local and not Enterprise his record is not showing to select it for delete.
Would the Admin Restore->Enterprise Resource Pool and Calendars functionality put his original record back in place? I understand only one version of this backup is kept but that should be the version we currently have. What data might be
lost using this functionality? Any chance other users would be adversely impacted?
We are using Project Pro 2010Hi Dennykat,
As mentionned in your previous post, restoring the resource pool should work, since it is restoring resources with their metadata and with the exact same UID. Thus the deleted and restored enterprise resource should have everything back (assignments, timesheets...).
Since I never tested such as process, I strongly advice to test it in the dev environment on a simple test case.
I remember that if also adviced you to recreate the enterprise resource and type in the resource sheet on one of the resource's project the exact enterprise resource name (exact same syntax), so Project should ask you when saving if you want to replace the
local resource by the enterprise one. Can you confirm that it didn't work?
Hope this helps.
