Secret code that unlocks hidden content

Folks - Itunes promotes their Star Trek Itunes Extra as having a "secret code that unlocks hidden content" however, after downloading it there was no information about any such "secret code". I wrote to the The iTunes Store support team who informed me they "do not provide support for offers related to secret codes or hidden content embedded within iTunes Store content." So who does? Is this false advertising? Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks in advance!

In at least some cases, the code in the body of the email unlocks an attached document which contains the actual redemption code. See if the email you received has an attachment, and if so open that and enter in the code from the email when requested.
If there was no attachment, contact Mac App Store Customer Service and let them know about the problem. They'll probably issue you a new code as they have for other people with the same issue.

That's not how unlocking an iPhone works.
The carrier the phone is locked to submits a request to Apple, wh updates their database. When that is complete, you restore the phone with iTunes to process the unlock.

Can you change the default code that targets a new window to change the content in a div tag instead

I created a database for store locations. I was able to display the list of stores. Here though I don't want the list to show the number in front of it... I still need to find the CSS to edit my results for this one. However, more importantly, I don't want to open my results in a new window, I want to be able to target a DIV tag instead.
This is the code that is created to display the list of stores.

Currently it opens a blank window. I'd like to target a div tag on the right of the list area where the store info can appear.
Perhaps the gurus at adobe can upgrade this feature? Target DIVs instead of new or blank windows, or using frames. Below is the screen of the links created from the DB.

How to code support pages that manage portal content?

I have a portal that is using static pages, dynamic pages, etc. It is working pretty well, except for the fact that I update the content to be displayed using TOAD. I want to set up an admin secured area to use web based forms to update content. The forms in Portal are, well, clunky. For example, I have a dynamic page that uses a view that has three rows and four columns to get data from. I need a form to update this data on a daily basis (instead of TOAD). I could do this with a JSP page directing to a servlet that writes the data, but how does this get integrated with portal and portals security?
I've looked at the JPDK, but I am not trying to create a portlet. I want a regular webapp that updates Portal content with security driven by portal.
Is this possible?
Any examples?

Quick Look Index View and PDF hidden content

I have come across an odd quirk of Quick Look in which the Index View is different from the regular view. The Quick Look Index View of two or more PDF files will show hidden page or image content, while the regular view of the individual files will not.
The hidden content consists of one portion of the text covered up.
Preview does not show the hidden content of an individual file, but QuickTime does.
Is this inconsistency of Quick Look a bug?

Maybe I was not clear in my initial post. Index.html is not the file I want to see inside Quick Look. Index.html file I'm talking about is part of code BetterZip plugin is using to show Zip content. It is located in the Resource subfolder inside plugin. So my findings are related to html parsing issues Quick Look engine is doing inside plugin.
Once again, I'm not talking about HTML quicklook plugin that is already built-in to show HTML files, but BetterZip plugin that is designed to show compressed file contents (e.g. zip, tar, ...).
Does someone know if there are some changes in the behaviour of Quick Look engine or if there are some bugs in Quick Look engine for Mavericks 10.9.0 that parses internal plugin html contents incorrectly (or to load external html resource files)?

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

So now I went back to the screen that orginally asked me for my Apple ID and passort, and instead of entering my Apple ID i entered the email address associated with it and the new password. It now tells me "You can't sign in because your account was disabled for security reasons. To enable your account, reset your passwort at iforgot.apple.com"
I have now changed my password twice and it still doesn't work.
Until I get this resolved my tablet is useless.

I'm new at flash- as this is the first project I've done in
flash, and the problem is...
I put the file in a simple HTML file in dreamweaver, and i
published the files, tested them on my computer, and it's great-
the size fits enough so that no scrolling is needed.
However-
I asked a friend to test it- and on his computer you are
required to scroll both vertically and horizontally in order to see
all the content on the 100% flash website.
My question-
Are there any codes that can resize the swf file or the HTML,
based on screen resolution/browser [however- we tested in the same
browser]

Hi Gorka, thanks for your post! Here is my problem in as
small a nutshell as I can manage! The site I'm creating depends a
lot on animation of characters around the screen so this all has to
be done in flash, I drew the Frame of the site in Flash and a lot
of the buttons etc will be flash although I have to use some jpegs
as buttons on the top of the site as well as a lot of other bitmaps
(product shots etc.) in the content welI. I had to reduce them (and
size all the other bitmap elements) in photoshop to exactly the
size they will appear in the content well in flash. Even the jpeg
buttons I created, I had to output two different sized versions of
the same image for each button, as if I enlarge the image even
slightly in flash for a rollover state, it looks awful.. now it
looks great but the resulting swf is huge! My main concern at the
moment as I said, is what way I can output the swf so that it will
fit perfectly into any browser window without having to scroll, and
keep the quality of all the bitmap elements, and the client is also
worried about having huge areas of white space around the frame of
the site. I'm very interested to know more about the 'stage class'
you mentioned, i haven't come across this before, just before I got

I just traded my Macbook Pro for a 27" Core i5 iMac. I wiped the iMac when I traded and I brought it home to do a full reinstall. I booted holding the Option key down and noticed this iMac had a recovery partition I opted to use the recovery partition to reinstall. To my surprise it was Lion. And the cd was snow leapord. I was cool with that and signed in and used the computer all day. Then sometime while I was sleeping a obnixious alarm went off on the iMac and there was a box to enter your system lock pin code to unlock this mac.
Priding myself on doing all repairs on my own since my primary job is reinstalled and virus removal. Long story short I could not access anything no matter what I tried. I ended up calling apple care and asking what needed to be done they explained I needed to bring it to a apple authorized store and they would have to unlock the firmware.
Do you guys know what they are talking about or is there anything I can do before driving 100 miles to my nearest apple store. I find this rediculous.

I did indeed did wipe the system clean at the owners house, I went home with what I thought was totally clean hard drive, there was a recovery partition I did not see until I got home. This recovery partition was indeed tied to the original owner which I did not know at the time. I assumed it was like any old windows recovery and it was clean and made reinstalls a dream. Well long story short I had the snow leapord cd in the drive and ready to go until I seen this recovery partition and I opted to use the **** recovery and I reinstalled registered and signed into everything and used the computer all day 12 hours probably. By the way the recovery partition that was tied to this guy was lion.
So then I left the computer on and went to sleep. Late last night an alarm went off and that is when I saw the enter the pin to unlock this mac. I have tried holding the C when I boot up, I have tried holding the Option key when booting up. I have tried resetting the pram. Nothing can be done. I can get to another lock screen by phsically unplugging the power cord then booting up holding the option key. That will bring me to a screen with nothing but a lock and a line that I can type some kind of admin password. Nothing I have with work. I tried, root, admin, administrator, my password I used when I set lion up. Nothing!!!!!.
At this point this machine is more or less 100% useless, the only option I can see is to bring it to a authorized apple retailer and have them fix it. I did bring it to a local apple store. And they said they could probably fix it, but I would have to pay them between 50-100 dollars. The repair guy said something about getting the info from the ram. I just laughed and left.
Anyway this is like a BIOS lock, you cannot get to terminal, cd, to any boot options, you cannot reset anything at all. It's a full lock.
