Sections in the same page

hi!i have a subreport with 10 sections and i want to keep 3 of them always together in the same page (if the page free space is lower than the height of the 3 sections together do a page break). How can i do it?Thanks!!

Hi,
I would group those 3 sections together - i.e. group 2A, 2B, 2C. In Section Expert, tick off with 'keep together' on section 2.

  • How to get Report Builder to print a section on the same page

    I have a section of my report that is three bands. A header
    band, the detail band, and a total line band. Sometimes this
    section will get split up and print part on the next page. So
    basically I need for this section to print on the same page. I know
    that I could insert a page break right above the header, but this
    will make my report way longer than it needs to be. I have also
    unchecked "split allowed" for that band also but that didn't make a
    difference. Is there some way to group three bands together so that
    if it is two big to print the section on the current page then
    print the whole section on the next page. It is driving our
    accounting lady nuts because when she likes to verify that the
    totals are coming out right and sometimes she has to flip over to
    the next page to continue calculating.

    you need to create a multi-instrument in the environment next to your audio-instrument,then push a cable from there to your audio-instrument.in the arrange window your multi-instrument will appear in the window where you select the track-type next to the audio tracks, audio-busses etc. these midi tracks now trigger your vsti on the selected midi channel.you have to record your midi now on these tracks and not on the audio-instrument track,because there you only trigger its own channel. i hope i explained it well but i think you have understood what i ment.

  • Keeping heading and detail on the same page

    Hi, I have a report with a group header section and a detail section.  How can I keep the heading section and all the detail section on the same page without starting each group on a new page?
    The detail section will have either 2 or 3 records with some of the objects set to grow if the data doesn't fit on one line.  This results in several changes of group appearing on the same page which is what I want.  However, what I don't want is the header section on one page with the detail section on the next, or the header and some of the detail records on one page with the rest of the detail records on the next.  What I would like is the report to start a new page if the header and all the detail records don't fit on the same page but without starting a new page for every group change.  How can I achieve this?

    you can put the group header and details into a sub report on the old group header section.
    then hide the details section

    My iphone4 has the correct Apple ID in the information settings section and asks me to login to my ID most of the time but when I try to update my apps, it asks me to login with an ID that isn't mine.  I deleted the wrong ID from my itunes but it still won't let me login with my own ID to update apps.  How do I get my iphone on the same page?

    How did you obtain these apps? All apps are DRM protected & tied forever to the account used to originally obtain them. They cannot be transferred to another Apple ID(account), nor can they be updated using any Apple ID other than the one that was used to originally obtain them.

  • How to develp a subreport in the same page of the main report and processed when is called

    SSRS 2012
    Hi guys,
    I am developing a report that includes a subreport.
    therefore The report is made up by 2 sections:
    1) Show a grid (several rows - may be 100 or more - and some columns). It represent high level info  (Each row represent a specific item)
    2) The user click on a Row/column (eg: Item1, to see details that must be shown as graph.
    Here the problem: Searching info about SSRS reporting for subreports, drilldown, nested report and so on, no ones accomplish the requirements for the following reasons:
    1) Subreports: NOT open in the same page. The user must <go back> to see detail for other items, such as Item 2....
    2) Nested and DrillDown: Process data as the Main report (they are hidden and displayed after user action). In my case this leads to performance problem, because: if the main report has 200 objects (it means 200 graphs processed and hidden at the same time
    for the main reports).
    3) DrillThrough and Subreport: The detail data are processed only when the user select the interested item in the main report. Here the problem: the report is shown externally.
    Please, it there any possibility to have a subreport (or anything else) to be executed in the same report as the main report and processed only when the user make action?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Fasttrack2,
    According to your description, there is a main report with more than 100 rows of summary information, when users click the item of the row, the report need to jump to detail information shows as graph. The problem you are facing is that you are not sure
    subreport, drilldown or drillthrough report should be used? You hope to set display detail information in the main report and keep high performance of report.
    In Reporting Services, each subreport instance is a separate query execution and a separate report processing task. Subreports are recommended when there are just a few subreport instances. We should not use subreports inside a group when there are many
    group instances, instead, consider using drillthrough reports. Drilldown reports process all data even when the data is first hidden. In order to improve the performance of the report, we can split drilldown reports into parameterized drillthrough reports,
    because Drillthrough reports do not run until a user clicks the drillthrough link in the main report.
    In this case, we can consider using drilldown or drillthrough report. In drilldown report, when we click a plus or minus button to expand or collapse a section of a report, the detail data will be displayed in place. By using drillthrough report, when we
    click the link in the main report, the detail data will be displayed, we can come back to the main report by click return button in the drillthrough report.

  • How to share the same QUERY among report, chart on the same page? and more

    Dear HTMLDB experts,
    I am absolute rookie to this tool, so I have some questions need you all's help.
    (1)
    When I build a page with a spread sheet and a chart on the same page, they all use the same query to get the data. However, I have to type in the SQL twice in spread sheet(report region) and chart's attribute sections. It seems so dumb, does it really run the same query twice, is there a way to share the same query?
    i.e. SELECT name, timestamp, value FROM foo WHERE name = :P1_NAME? (by the way, is :P1_NAME case sensitive?)
    (2)
    In the same chart, if I have two series from two columns of the same table, I have to write 2 queries, one
    select null, timestamp, value1 from same_table
    and
    select null, timestamp, value2 from same_table
    Is it possible to use one query: select timestamp, value1, value2 from same_table and define the series on two value columns of this single query? It's really no point to run two queris.
    (3)
    In a chart, when the query has ORDER by clause, it seems the chart is not showing up.
    So instead of using the query below
    SELECT null, to_char(ts,'mmdd') ts, value
    FROM same_table
    WHERE ts >= TRUNC(SYSDATE) - :P2_DAYSAGO - 1
    AND name = :P1_NAME
    ORDER BY ts
    I have to use a walkaround query
    SELECT null, ts, used
    FROM
    SELECT null, to_char(ts,'mmdd') ts, value
    FROM same_table
    WHERE ts >= TRUNC(SYSDATE) - :P2_DAYSAGO - 1
    AND name = :P1_NAME
    ORDER BY ts
    Further more, it seems :P1_NAME in the same subquery is not working for the chart, i get xml parsing errors in SVGviewer, however the same query works for the spread sheet area, I am really puzzeled. Not sure whether it's dumb tool or dumb me :-)
    Appreciate your help!

    For this particular issue, I found out that neither is the tool dumb nor is me. It's SVGViewer messed up with the firefox browser, after I rebooted the computer this morning, problem is gone. I didnt reboot after I copied SVGViewer dll and zip file to firefox plugin directory yesterday. Never had that pain with IE and Netscape, oh well :-). So please ignore this section, however other questions are still unsolved puzzles for me. Thank you all if you can share some light on those questions.

  • How to cause a button to compute a text field on the same page?

    I have a button called "Generate Hash" and I want to have it compute a text field and display it on the same page with the results of a simple sql query:
    select 'P'||substr(Sys_guid(),1,10) from dual;
    Is this a difficult thing to do?

    Hello Patrick,
    Nope - not hard at all. Create a Process on your page that says:
    :Pxxx_HASH_VALUE := 'P'||substr(Sys_guid(),1,10);
    Then in the Condition portion of the Process, Set the section labeled "When Button Pressed (Process After Submit When this Button is Pressed)" equal to the button you wish to use for the compute.

  • How to remove links pointing to the same page?

    I have PDF documents with Links which point to sections referenced (e.g. link of text "Section 2.2" points to the actual page number of "Section 2.2"), but as the links are created from cross-references during rendition from Word to PDF, there are cases that the destination page number and source page number of the links are the same (e.g. links of text "Section 2.2" on page 9 are created with the destination of page 9 which is the actual page number of "Section 2.2"), I want to remove all these links, but I don't know how to get the destination page, I check the API reference and find that "PDLinkAnnotGetAction" may work , but I don't know how to use it, could you check me codes below and advise ? Start by reading the PDF standard (ISO 32000-1) to understand Actions vs. Destinations.
    Then for each annot, you'll want to see which it has (and in the case of an Action, if it has more than one).  Then you need to parse the action or dest to see what it is and where it goes.  If you don't like it, then you'll delete it.

  • Multiple branches to the same page

    A few questions about branches...
    1. Having a branch back to the same page with a 'when button pressed=Submit', another branch back to the same page with some other button-press condition, etc are all redundant, right?
    It is sufficient to have just one unconditional branch back to the same page, right?
    2. What is the difference between branch type 'branch to page or url' and simply 'branch to page'? Does the former cover the latter, so why do we need two types?
    3. Anyway, when I choose the latter, there is a checkbox below the page number for 'branch to page using redirect'. What does this mean?
    4. I have always seen the 'On submit: after processing' branch point being used. When would the other branch points be used?
    Thanks

    Vikas,
    1. No, they are not "all redundant" nor is any
    individual one. What if your page is submitted in
    some way other than by one of the buttons evaluated
    in the branch definitions?
    Right, thats why I said "It is sufficient to have just one unconditional branch back to the same page, right?". Why is it not sufficient to have just 1 unconditional branch? That would cover all the cases. Each page process can then check for whatever conditions it needs?Ummm, you say "Right" to my rebuttal and then you restate your original premise -- that logic eludes me. Let me offer this: Ponder my question, exactly as I wrote it, and consider self-submitting items, tabs, javascript, fields that submit the page when you hit Enter, etc., then it might make more sense. I don't think I can help you with that last part "Each page process..." even if it were an actual question.
    2. A Branch to Page (aka direct branch) calls the
    target page directly from accept processing without
    using a URL redirect. The other type redirects.
    Maybe this has nothing to do with HTMLDB, but whats the difference between "directly from accept processing" and "redirect"?Fair question. When you submit a page, wwv_flow.accept processes it. When it finishes, it evaluates the branching logic to determine what page you see next and then either redirects to that page (to f?p=...) or calls wwv_flow.show in the same database session (direct branch).
    3. That's a way of creating most branches as URL
    redirect branches when the developer isn't paying
    attention. Uncheck the box to "really" create a
    direct branch.
    You seem to be implying that a "direct branch" is not really desirable in most cases? Why? (I guess your answer to my question above will clear this up for me)Well, they're usually not the best choice. You end up with "wwv_flow.accept" in the browser location window after the branch and using the browser's back button to go back to those requests gives you that annoying "page contains POSTDATA" message. Those branches can be useful if you want to stay in the same database session for page processing (after submit) and the subsequent page view, such as in the case of inline validation errors where package state is maintained. The checkbox (default checked) technique is to require developers to really think about a choice that may have been reflexive.
    4. Please read the User's Guide.
    I did. Lets take them 1 by one
    a. On submit, before computation: The docs say this is to be used for a Cancel button. But wouldnt a javascript:document.form.reset() do the same thing?A Cancel button that submits the page does just that, it submits the page, allowing session state to be saved and any logic on the page to be performed before the correct branch is taken. You ask whether that javascript would do the same thing. The same thing as what, the Cancel button? No!
    b. on load before header: "...displays another page instead of the current page...". But then why wouldnt I just create a branch of some other branch point with that "another page number" in the first place?Because sometimes it's better for page X to decide to go to page Y before doing much of anything than for N callers of page X to make the same determination.
    I guess I am having difficulty understanding the concept of a "branch point". As you said elsewhere, a branch doesnt contain any logic, it doesnt call anything, it just branches to some page/url.Where did I say that?
    So, why have all these different branch points? What advantage does having this fine degree of control provide us? (as opposed to always 'on submit: after processing'?)Your proposal about reviewing various branch points was "Lets take them 1 by one", but then you skipped three of them. Please read the entire section on branching, create pages with all possible types of branches and a variety of buttons and conditions, experiment extensively with them and let us know if it's still unclear. I think you'll find, over time, that all features
    in HTML DB are there for a good reason. The developers found a need for them developing real applications. Where capabilities were missing, features were invented and added,
    where features seemed useless, they were dropped/deprecated. The tool you see today has been evolving for years. I think it's unreasonable to expect to be able to
    appreciate the value of every single feature until you've been using HTML DB for a couple of years.

  • How to display the JSP output in the same page....

    im new to JSP..... can anyone tell me how to display the output of a particular JSP page in the same page itself...... if anyone could send a small sample code it will be very useful for me....

    Krish......

    Hi Robert -
    When you say you are writing a template-based Renderer, do you mean that you are creating a custom look and feel and replacing the header Renderer? If so, I'd recommend instead simply creating your own template (not template-based Renderer), and reference your template directly from your uiXML pages where you want to insert the timestamp.
    You'll probably want to write a method data provider which calls System.currentTime(), convert the result to a date, and then use Java's date formatting capabilities (see java.text.format.DateFormat) to produce a user presentable String that you can return from your data provider.
    For more info (and samples) on templates and data binding, see the "Templates and Data Binding" section of the "Includes and Templating in ADF UIX" help topic:

  • Passing parameters between portlets with in the same page

    Hello,
    I have created a Form and a report. The form allows a user to make some selection values, and then upon submit it passes the selected values to the report to query the database. The results from the query are displayed in a new - seperate - window from the form. Is there anyway to disaply the report results on the same page as the form that called the report? I guess I am trying to have a page with 2 portlets (a form, and a report). I want the user to be able to make a selection from the form portlet and pass that selection to the report portlet within the same page.
    Thanks,
    McKell

    Hi I received this info from an OSS named Mahantesh. I thought it was very helpful information for passing portlet parameters between a form and a report within the same page.
    Please check these steps to pass parameter from form to report:
    This article is based on demo tables EMP and DEPT.
    1. Create a report RPT_DEPT using the query 'Select * from dept where deptno= :deptno'
    2. Create a form FRM_EMP based on EMP table.
    3. Edit the form FRM_EMP => 'Formatting and Validation Options' section => click on DEPTNO field
    => Give the value for the 'Link' (under 'Display options') as 'javascript:runrep()' where runrep is the name<br>
    of javascript function that we are going to create later.
    4. In 'Form text' section, in the 'Footer Text' add the code for the runrep function as follows.
    <script>
    function runrep()
    var formObj = document.forms[0];
    var deptno;
    for (var i=0; i < formObj.length ; i++){
    if (formObj.elements.name == 'FORM_EMP.DEFAULT.DEPTNO.01'){
    //FORM_EMP is the form name
    deptno = formObj.elements[i].value;
    break;
    var url="/portal/page?_pageid=38,1,38_31678:38_31787&_dad=portal&_schema=<br>
    PORTAL&deptno=" + deptno;
    //modify the url according to your environment.<br>
    window.location=url;
    }<br>
    </script>
    5. Modify the URL in the above code with your page url on which form and report portlets have been placed.
    6. Goto Page properties => Parameters tab (Parameters and Events option should have been enabled at Pagegroup level).
    7. Create a page parameter and map it with report portlet parameter.
    8. Now run the page, enter deptno or query the form to get the deptno and click on the link next to deptno field. You should get report with corresponding deptno on the page.

  • Displaying database results on the same page

    I am relatively new to dynamic pages and have only just
    recently created a PHP SQL setup using Dreamweaver CS3. I have no
    issues in displaying items from a recordset on a page. I have even
    used the "Master detail page set" function in CS3 to have a small
    selection of records from my recordset on the page as reference
    points to then open up a detail web page showing all the records
    for that item. But this is not what I want to do.
    I have used CSS to created a two columm page, which I have
    then saved as a template (left sidebar and then main content on the
    right). The scenario is that the database has membership details. I
    want to be able to have the membership numbers displayed in the
    left sidebar, with the main content of the database record for that
    member displayed in the main section of the page. If I click on a
    different membership number in the left column I want the main
    content to change and display the records for that member.
    I guess what I am trying to say is I want the "Master detail
    page set" functionality but rather than opening a seperate web page
    for the detail, I want it displayed on the same page.
    As I said, I am new to dynamic pages. A way I thought of it
    being done was to use frames but I don't really want to do that as
    it means making up a whole new set of templates. Is there a simple
    way of doing this?
    Thanks in advance

  • Two sliding panels/w tabs widgets on the same page?

    I would like to use two of the same widget (Sliding Panels/w
    tabs) on the same page.
    How can I get two instances to function independently and not
    break each other....?
    I edited the sp_withTabs.js file by duplicating the first
    section below copying it, modifying it, and then pasting it below
    as the second section:
    // Turn the slidingPanel region into a real sliding panel
    widget.
    Spry.$$("#slidingPanel").addClassName("SlidingPanels");
    Spry.$$("#slidingPanel >
    div").addClassName("SlidingPanelsContentGroup");
    Spry.$$("#slidingPanel .SlidingPanelsContentGroup >
    div").addClassName("SlidingPanelsContent");
    sp2 = new Spry.Widget.SlidingPanels('slidingPanel');
    // Turn the slidingPanel2 region into a real sliding panel
    widget.
    Spry.$$("#slidingPanel2").addClassName("SlidingPanels");
    Spry.$$("#slidingPanel2 >
    div").addClassName("SlidingPanelsContentGroup");
    Spry.$$("#slidingPanel2 .SlidingPanelsContentGroup >
    div").addClassName("SlidingPanelsContent");
    sp2 = new Spry.Widget.SlidingPanels('slidingPanel2');
    This actually gets the second instance to function properly,
    but now the first instance is "frozen".

    Chapman, i know its been a while
    but where on the JS file is the part you changed?
    I cant find that in mine
    check out my page:
    http://www.pupr.edu/department/industrial/students.asp
    Im trying to do that same thing, but a sliding panel inside another one.
    The one inside isnt being recognized as a slliding panel, im thinking its the same problem you were having.
    If you need me to copy the .js file let me know!
    This is working with the Spry Sliding Panels Widget

  • How to keep vertically arranged fields to print on the same page?

    Hello,
    my report contains fields that are vertically arranged. I want the report to print all the fields on the same page and  not if the page is too small at the end that the half of the fields are printed on one page and the rest on the next page. But there should be more than one data sets on one page (it is no solution to generally make a page break before the fields - it only concerns the end of a page).
    Is there a printing mechanism to anchor fields together?
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    kind regards
    Monika Anna

    1. Are these vertically arranged fields within the same group?  If so, you can try right click on the Group section, Select Change Group, and then Go to Option Tab and select Change Group together.
    2. Otherwise, if you want to fit certain amount of rows into one page, then you can write your own running total and Set New Page when that running total reach eg: 20 rows.
