Sections in WEBi

Hi Friends, I need to have 3 sections based on different dimensions, Like Section A, Section B , Section C which contains vertical Table with all the required dimension.measures for the report.
The problem is that, I had set in properties of each section to hide the section e.g hide section A if Section B is empty and Hide section B when Section C is empty and Hide section C when block is empty but still report is displaying the text for dimensions set as sections even though there is no data.
any help would be really appreciated

If I'm understanding your workflow, this was raised to our development team as :
ADAPT00427988 - The section is displayed whereas it is considered as empty and the property "show section when empty is unchecked".
It was closed as being by design. You can raise this as an enhancement directly with our developers at http://ideas.sap.com.

Issues with Sections in WebI report

I am working in BOXIR2. I created a WebI report where I created sections on almost all fields of the Table. I need to create the report as book which almost 58 pages. I am getting following issues.
1) When I run the report some of the sections are appearing several times in the same page.
2) Some of the Fields are not completely seen in the report.
3) The values in some sections are displaying "MultiValues".
4) Also, in the prompts, I need to give one value as "ALL" which will fetch all the exiting values for that field (58 values) and display the results each in one page.
Please let me know how to avoid these issues.

1) Copy the existing object and paste in the same class.rename with all.Like my object is 'Department Name'.second object is 'Department Name with All'.Edit 'Department Name with All' and add (union select 'ALL' from dual) in the sql and checked the check box do not generate sql.
2) Go to the insert and tab and select the condition. create condition like this.and parse the condition.
(@Select(Department\Department Name) in @Prompt('Department','A','Department\Department Name',multi,free)
OR ('ALL') IN @Prompt('Department','A','Department\Department Name with all',multi,free) )
3) use this condition in the report and you can hide the 'with All' object in the universe so that it can not visible to the users as this is specfic for the All condition.

Creating section in WebI results in time-out error

For a certain report that I've created I recive a "Your Web Intelligence session has timed out. Log out and log in again to InfoView. (Error: WIJ 77778)" error when I try and create a new section. Has anyone experienced this error and know of a solution/workaround?

Free Text section in Web App Designer

I'm creating a dashboard through Web Application Designer which contain queries and charts to be used to show monthly financial results. The user would like to include a 'comment' section where they can show the explanations of the results (such as why Actual Revenue is lower than Plan, etc). This comment section needs to handle free-form text so that user can enter any length of information. Furthermore, this comment section has to be dynamic based on what month the Dashboard is executed for. So, if they executed it for Jan 2007, the comment section should show the explanation for Jan data. If, they execute it for Dec 2006, the comment should show the explanation for Dec data.
If any of you can give us pointers or guidance on this, it would be much appreciated and points will be rewarded.

Sections of web pages are in Portugese despite settings being English.

hello steve, is this only happening on google's sites? if so, please either reset your language preferences at https://www.google.com/preferences?hl=en or [[Delete cookies to remove the information websites have stored on your computer|clear all cookies]] from google.com.
otherwise please also check your language preferences in firefox > options > content > languages and make sure that firefox is set up to directly connect to the internet ("no proxy") in firefox > options > advenced > network > connection - settings...

Website listed in the "never allowed" section of web browsing in parental controls still comes up!

I have listed YouTube.com on my list of websites to never allow for my daughter's user account on my MacBook Pro, but it still allows it! I am updating to mavericks OS right now - hoping it's a bug that will be fixed.
Please help if you know what might work. I bought a Mac because of the parental controls, which are apparently useless!

You might think that if you change "Website Restrictions" under the "Content" tab > to "Allow unrestricted access to websites" that it would bypass the proxy server > entirely. Unfortunately it does not.
Why would you think that? There's not a single commercial cache engine or proxy I'm aware of that works that way. If a site isn't restricted the proxy server simply passes the traffic instead of restricting it. It doesn't change the routing or proxy on the guest machine.

Refresh of Data in Xcelsius from Web Intelligence Results

I am new to the forum but not to Business Objects/Xcelsius. I attended the SAP Sapphire Event last May and spent time in the Business Objects lab. Two Product Managers demonstrated how I would be able to refresh the data in an Xcelsius dashboard using Live Office by retreiving results from a Webi document without refreshing the Webi query.
For example, my Webi document contains 100,000 result rows. I want to be able to select a dropdown in my dashboard and have Live Office retreive only a subset of the 100,000 rows. This being done without having the Webi query being refreshed from the database. The Webi query would be refreshed nightly.
The Product Managers advised that this functionality would be available in Service Pack 3 or before. As of now I cannot find out how to make this work. Any help or information would be appreciated. Thanks.

WebIntelligence Input Controls are a way to enhance and customize user experience with report filters, they are therefore based on report filters and the feature is more focused on user interface & experience rather than exposition outside web intelligence.
Anyway, AFAIK, report filters are not available from Live Office report parts, you can only filter content with prompts, which requires the document to be refresh from the database, which has a direct impact on performance and scalability for consumers.
However, if you are with WebIntelligence XI 3.1 SP2 you have the alternative to publish from WebI Rich Client, report elements (any table or chart) as web services (called BI Services).
This tool is based on Qaaws technology, and share some of its features (main being that is uses the same Xcelsius Data Manager connection), it exposes a large part of WebI interactions to external consumers (esp. Xcelsius) : report filters, drill, prompts.
Besides this tool provides a set of call input parameters to tune web service consumption for best performance and scalability, enabling to leverage WebI document management features like scehduling, publishing and refresh, so consumers can balance performance with real-time data.
More information is available from WebIntelligence Rich Client user documentation from section sharing webi content with other web applications.
I recommend you install the latest fix pack (SP2.5 and above), as some initial fixes were required to ensure full compatibility with Xcelsius.

Error in WEBI report and MDXTEST when using Dimensions in Prompt

I am using BOXIR3.1 SP2, SAPBI 7.0
I m creating a webI report (Universe is on SAP BI Query.) which include following objcets in Query section of WebI pannel:
Business partner, Account Class, Total Arreas count.
The Condition pane of Webi Includes Prompt on object "Account Class".
When I run a report, I get List of values for Dimension Account Class, when I select one of available value eg: Commercial Customer,I get Following Error.
A database error occured. The database error text is: The MDX query SELECT { [Measures].[4EITIDWAFWLLZD2ONIAVCKD56] } ON COLUMNS , NON EMPTY CROSSJOIN( [Z_BPATNER].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS, { [Z_FCACTBP__0UCACC_CLAS].[Commercial Customers] } ) ON ROWS FROM [ZFC_M07/Z_FC_M07_Q002] failed to execute with the error Value Commercial Customers for characteristic Z_FCACTBP__0UCACC_CLAS unknown. (WIS 10901)
I tried running same query in MDXTEST editor of BI. I got same error!!!
Then I tried changing the MDX Query as:
SELECT { [Measures].[4EITIDWAFWLLZD2ONIAVCKD56] }
ON COLUMNS , NON EMPTY CROSSJOIN( [Z_BPATNER].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS, { [Z_FCACTBP__0UCACC_CLAS].[COM] } ) ON ROWS

Then it worked Fine!!! If you observe the change is in the value of Prompt Account Class [Z_FCACTBP__0UCACC_CLAS].[COM]
By default Dimension object in Universe shows text value, but when I changed the MDXQuery with Key value (This is one of the value of value is for [Z_FCACTBP__0UCACC_CLAS].[Level01] object in mDX test Editor.) It works fine.
I wonder How do i solve this problem!! List of values available in dimension cannot be changed at universe level.
Please let me know if any solution for this exists.

I am creating the prompt on the dimension "Account Class" at WebI level.
The Technical name of this object is: [Z_FCACTBP__0UCACC_CLAS].[LEVEL01]
Also,
I confirmed that Index Awareness is applied on this dimension as [Z_FCACTBP__0UCACC_CLAS].[LEVEL01].[TECH_NAME].
This Dimension has detail object called "Account Class (Key) "and "Account Class (Medium name)".
MDXtest editor in SAP, shows me text as well as [ Level01] values:
Eg: Account Class InfoObject has values "Commercial Customer " (This is text value)and "[Z_FCACTBP__0UCACC_CLAS].[COM]".
COM Refers to Commercial Customer .
So In WebI when I use Dimension "Account Class" as prompt, I get Text value of this InfoObject which is "Commercial Customer ".
and MDXQuery Fails. But when I modify this query in mDXTEST Editor with value as "[Z_FCACTBP__0UCACC_CLAS].[COM]", It work fine.
I donu2019t understand the reason, since this problem is with almost 90% of Dimension object.
When I delete this object from universe, and refresh the universe then webI works fine.
But, if for some reason I refresh the universe again, the Dimension object as a prompt doesnu2019t work!!!
This error occurs every time I refresh the universe.
We are in UAT phase and soon to go Live!! We cannot afford to delete the object every time I refresh the universe.
Please let me know your inputs.

Webi does not pick correct Data

Hi Guys,
I have a webi. The Universe for the Webi is based on Bex Query. I see correct Data in Bex Query but when I create a webi report it does not pick correct data.
I have checked following points already:-
1] No Resstriction at Query Level
2] No restriction at Universe Level
3] No Filters/ Restriction at Webi Level.
Can anyone suggest whats happening?

Hi Ray,
It happens sometimes that data gets aggregated over all the dimension objects present in the 'Available Objects' section in webi.
Try to pull only the characteristics present in the row section of the bex query say 'X' and measure in the column section of bex query say 'Y' into the results pane in the edit query window in webi.Then run the report and check.
This will give you the idea about aggregation.

It is working exactly as advertised. Because it matches both groups, it includes both preludes/codas.
To exclude one, you have to make it not match the pattern defined in your jsp-property-group.

Displaying UMLAUT characters in WEBI report - Need Confirmation in Settings

I am using BOXI-R2 in Windows machine. I have done the below settings in BO configuration files.
My WEBI report shows no data to display when there are UMLAUT German characters (for example) in the data. Japanese and English characters are displayed in the report properly.
Settings:
1. Arial Unicode Font installed.
2. fontalias.xml - Default section font is Arial Unicode
3. i18n.xml - Arial Unicode MS entry available
4. defaultconfig.xml - <CUSTOM_GUI_FONTS VALUE="Arial Unicode MS"/>
5. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/ORACLE - NLS_LANG = AMERICAN_AMERICA. AL32UTF8
6. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/ORACLE/HOME0 - NLS_LANG = AMERICAN_AMERICA. AL32UTF8
7. cs.cfg - <Parameter Name="Unicode">UTF8</Parameters>.
8. oracle.sbo - <Parameter Name="Unicode">UTF8</Parameter>
9. sybase.sbo - <Parameter Name="Unicode">UTF8</Parameter>

My WEBI report is using generic odbc connectivity to sybase. After some changes to the above settings report displays UMLAUTS properly with the below change.

Please let me know whether this is the correct change to be done for this issue. Also what is the reason UMLAUTS are not getting displayed when i use UTF8.

Hi Ven,
You have created a report level prompt like
Transaction Date Between "Enter Tran Date(Start):" and "Enter Tran Date(End):"
1.Drag two blank cell on report.
2.click on one blank cell and on formula editor type following formula.
=UserResponse("Enter Tran Date(Start):" )
This will show you start date in the cell.
3.Similarly in another cell type the following formula
=UserResponse("Enter Tran Date(End):" )
This will show you End Date in respective cell.
Do revert in case of any queries.

Error in BI Mastersystem and WebAS ABAP Settings

We are facing below issues, and we ran the support desk tool.
When im running support desk tool, i'm receiving the below error and able to enter the credentials to get the configuration checks.
Here im facing few errors.
RFC connection using properties in Portal System Landscape to ABAP backend has failed. Reason:
com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception:Issuer of SSO ticket is not authorized
You can enter the connection properties manually (button OK) or proceed to the check message result screen (button CANCEL)

Inserting a blank page in webi

Hello All,
I have created a webi report with different sections in report.
My requirement is to insert a blank page before each new section in webi.
E.g If I have report with section Country and Region, then first blank page would get inserted before Coutry-->then country data would get displayed--->Again a blank page gets inserted and then Region data would get displayed.
What would be the way to achive this requirement?

Hi Chinmay,
You could use relative positioning and place the second section far enough below the first so that it prints a blank page in between the sections. You might have to play with it some. It will also depend on how you are printing the report - PDF or other.
You may also want to check the section property "Start on a new page"

MODIFYING WEB SITES TAB BUG - Anyone else?

This isn't a how-to thread as such, but I'm using Mac OS X Server 10.4.11 and I have many websites that I'm hosting (27 at the moment, mainly subdomains).
The nature of my business is that I need to keep adding subdomains the more users I get, and this is where the buggyness drives me nuts:
IN THE SITES SECTION OF WEB SERVICES:
When I modify one of my domains, and hit save, the list suddenly updates, and instead of making the changes on the domain I was working on, it changes the domain before (or after .. not sure). This means that I will always be in a stupid cycle of guesswork on changing domains. For a company such as Apple who base it's image on Ease of use, this is a JOKE! Even MS Server doesn't do blatent blunders like that!
My technical background makes me wonder whether there is something wrong with the httpd file that is messing up the update .. But I think some better programming from the apple engineers should have prevented this from happening in the first place.
If anyone else has experienced this and figured out a way to fix it, please share .. It's really doing my head in.. I think Apple needs to get on to this... They can't surely leave OS X Server 10.4 with a bug like that can they? I'm so seriously thinking of migrating to Windows Server as I've never seen interface glitches or bugs, and that's a sad thing as I've been a hardcore MAC fan for more than 15 years ..

I'm not sure if it helps, but I run significantly more than that number of sites on my servers and have never experienced the problem you describe.
I don't, however, rely on Server Admin for managing the sites, instead I manage them directly via /etc/httpd/sites/
This isn't because of a problem in Server Admin, per se., but rather a fact that I rely on Apache features that Server Admin doesn't handle (such as rewriterules) and therefore I need to edit the files manually once they're created.

I am incharge of a integration project between EBS 11.5.10.2 and CRM On Demand via web services
1. Assumptions:
Not to use additional architecture (Ex. Fusion Middleware)
2. One of the requirements is: From CRM On Demand to invoke a EBS web service to see and update item´s stock.
3. Advances
We already developed EBS web services to see and update Item´s Stocks
We need to consume the EBS Web service developed directly from CRM on Demand, but we haven´t found a way.
In CRM On Demand Panel Administration there is a section for web service integration but just for exposing CRM On Demand objects and functionalities, but not for consuming another application´s web service.
Mean while we are developing a web service client (web application) to consume EBS web service just for demonstrating its functionality to see and update EBS item stock.
I will appreciate your help!!!
