Secure a web page with mod_ldap or similar method
Hi, I need to secure some areas of my site with http basic auth. modauthzldap.so does not exist.. How can I do this on a Leopard Server?
The pages are on a Leopard server being served up from the installed apache. What are the directives to control access to a location? I want to use the local leopard ldap.
Typically you do something like:

Does the ext directory have the php_oci8.dll? In the original steps the PHP dir is renamed. In the given php.in the extension_dir looks like it has been updated correctly. Since PHP distributes php_oci8.dll by default I reckon there would be a very good chance that the problem was somewhere else. Since this is an old thread I don't think we'll get much value from speculation.

Because it doesn't recognise them as valid addresses - just as the error message says.
Firefox is similar : Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (fhp) isn't associated with any program.

How can I print web pages with HP psc 2175 printer?
Hi,
I'm having difficulty printing web pages with my HP psc 2175 printer. The printer spits out many pages before the actual page I want printed and then at times it doesn't print all of the section desired.
In fact, when I copied one page the other day, saved it as a pdf file to my computer, opened the file and the document still would not print.
Anyone have any idea what could be happening?
LeeI have a strange issue - I am also using HP Envy 100 410A and its prints fine from iPad2. But when I try to print from my Gen 1 iPad, it goes thru the motions (shows the printer, allows to select which pages to print, double sided print etc.) but the printing actually doesn't hapen.
Any suggestions?

Have published iweb site for five years with no problems and just opened a new site and get -
404: Page not found
This error is generated when there was no web page with the name you specified at the web site.-
Troubleshooting suggestions:
Ensure the page you are linking to exists in the correct folder.
Check your file name for case sensitivity . Index.htm is not the same as index.htm!
Temporarily disable any rewrite rules by renaming your .htaccess file if it exists
is the problem with
iweb or with hosting?
One Apple tech started to fix Iweb and had to end session and the next said problem with hosting at Network Solutions as it published
to local folder. NWS has checked sttting a few times-
Any help would be extremely appreciated as trying to fix this for about five weeks

I would like to print chinese web page within netscape browser in Solaris 9 Traditional Chinese OS, the print out result is garbage code on the paper not correctly chinese fonts.
I can print out correctly the chinese document create by StarSuite 7.0 on Solaris 9 OS environment and also the chinese web page is correctly display within Netscape browser but for printing is abnomal result.
Can someone point me to how to do print chinese web page with browser in Solaris 9 environment ?

i have encountered this problem before and i remember downloading some fonts package and installing it. u could google search your question and it should provide the solution.thats how i stumbled upon the package.

Why in the world would Apple make the track pad LESS useful in OS Lion? I hate that I can't g back to the top of a web page with a singe swipe. And of course all the other gestures are totally reversed. IMHO, this was not an improvement.
No one here works for Apple.
Go to System Preferences > Trackpad > Scroll & Zoom, and uncheck Scroll direction: Natural. -
Adding keywords to a web page with Dreamweaver 8
Hi,
Does anyone of you know how to add keywords to a web page
with Dreamweaver 8? I want the link to the web page shows up when
people google the keywords. I pulled out the instructions from
ehow.com and followed the instructions by using the HTML Keywords
function in the Insert menu. I tested it on Google website by
entering the keywords but it did not work.
Any clues would be helpful.

How do I make it possible to have the background image/pattern/colour etc. of a web-page included when I "print" to PDF?
Whenever I print a web page with something in the background other than white it's missing in the PDF file. This happens in my daily-use browser (Seamonkey), but also in Safari. However, in iCab (http://www.icab.de/) the background is included in the PDF file, so at least it's possible in MacOS. I just can't find any settings for it.Yes, this worked! Thanks!
Another neat trick I found is that you can save the different settings. Just go to the "presets" part of the print menu, then save the current setting. For example by naming it "PDF printing with background".
Then turn off the background colour/image/pattern and save it as a new preset (e.g. "Print (to paper)").
That way you don't need to waste lots of ink, but at the same time you'll get the complete web-page with background and all when you save it as a PDF file. Just remember to select the right preset before you "print". -

I started setting up a web page with IWeb.
Several proplems so far:
1) Auto Play box checked for music, but music does not start when page is opened.
2) Can't get Quicktime "start/stop" slide to start and finish a section within a long piece of music (classical for example). How does one work the slide bar to do this?Yes the audio file plays on the iWeb page when I click the play button. I even made sure it played both without the “little boxes” that surround the icon (don’t know the technical name for those), and when I click the music icon without the little boxes.
I did note that the iTunes window that appears when I open the Inspector is not highlighted until I click the music icon and those little boxes appear. Then the Start/Stop, Auto Play, Loop, and Show Movie Controller are highlighted — and work properly.
One other thing. I see that the iWeb icon I am working from says “Domain copy.sites2.” Does that have a bearing on anything? -

Thanks for your reply. The certificate authority require the CSR file before issue a signed certificate. If this is a signed certificate for IIS web server, I can create CSR from IIS. But I cannot use a signed certificate created from CSR of IIS with Sybase Web Service. The below steps are what I have tried.
1. I use CreateCert.exe with /r parameter to create CSR and private key.
2. I sent CSR to a certificate authority and they send back a signed certificate.
3. I have to combine a signed certificate from #2 with private key created from #1. Then use that file to specify with -xs{https …when starting the service.
Are the above steps what I have to do? If so, do I need to redistribute createcert.exe to my customers who want to use my application and how? Why I cannot use the signed certificate created from CSR of IIS?

Using a Word web page with iWeb
I want to create a web page with Microsoft Works, and then import it to my iWeb application. How can I do this?

Open your word document
Click file > save as web page > save to location of your cboice…in my case, on the desktop for easy access
Right click on the file, and click open with, choose textedit….it hopens the html code, just to make sure it’s right
Upload that to your idisk in the “sites” folder
Log into .mac account via the web
Click on “homepage” subtab at the top of the screen
Click “add new page”
Click “advanced” tab on the left hand side
Click “external HTML” (the only option for pages in “advanced” tab)
Click the file you just uploaded to idisk sites folder, then click choose
It will show you a preview of the page, and then click publich..
Get the URL, and link to it from your iWeb site…they’ll n ever know how you did it -
