Secure connection error pops up on every website. How do I disable it?

keep getting certificate warnings on all websites.

Some firewalls monitor secure connections and send their own certificate instead of the certificate from the web server.<br />
You can check that if you click through the steps and get the certificate and look at the issuer.<br />
In such cases you need to install the root certificate of that firewall to make Firefox recognize the issuer of the certificate or disable monitoring secure connections (port 443).<br />

  • I get "secure connection failed" pop-up (dialog) every 3 secs! ugh!

To connect to WiFi at a certain location, the router is setup to first automatically send me to a login page before I am allowed to go anywhere else on the internet.
All fine and dandy, except that I usually leave GMail open in my browser, which is setup to ping it's server evry 3 sec or so! When the GMail ping is redirected to the WiFi login page however, I get a stupid pop-up dialog telling me that the security certificate (of the WiFi provider) is for a different server than GMail. DUH!
This dialog blocks my entire browser functionality in the background, even as I'm in the middle of authenticating myself into the WiFi server.
Bottom-line, Mozilla/Firefox makes me continuously close dialog boxes instead of helping me get faster on the internet. I cannot add an exception for the case where I'm redirected, because ANY webpage would be redirected, so I'd need an exception for everything.
Now, the WiFi provider and GMail could definitely modify some settings to prevent this, but in the end it's not their problem!
My browser should not block me with pop-ups I MUST click on, at the worst it should just take me to an error page until the problem is fixed (i.e. I am logged in to WiFi).
I know this is a Firefox bug (since ~ year 2000 if I'm not mistaken), so PLEASE tell me how to get rid of this pop-up dialog at any security risk for me whatsoever, because I'd rather connect to internet unsafely than not be able to do it at all!
    P.S. I already have in about:config
    browser.ssl_override_behavior;2
    browser.xul.error_pages.expert_bad_cert;true
    ... to no avail!

Long before I had this prob. I corrected my system time that showed 6 years back to 2005 year. The prob was solved. Hope this helps u too.

  • Why do I keep getting a constant safari secure connection error?

why do I keep getting a secure connection error?

I kept getting an error message everytime I tried to go into any kind website.  Nothing was "secure"......or website could not be verified.....or certificate was outdated.  After looking into other people's messages I discovered that the date on my computer was wrong.  It reverted back to 2010 after the latest update.  I changed it back to the current date and now I am no longer getting this message.  thanks for your time.

it also says : Secure Connection Failed
An error occurred during a connection to sis.granby.k12.ct.us.

The page you are trying to view can not be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.

unfortunately the fiddler2 issuer in certificates might be a sign of unwanted software present on your pc that is intercepting secure network traffic. please go into the system control panel and uninstall programs like BrowserSafeguard, BrowserSafe, SafeGuard or other software that sounds suspicious and didn't get installed by you intentionally.

afterwards, run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

  • MacBookpro Receiving pop up warnings: Error: Unable to establish a secure connection to pop.mail....etc. because the correct root certificate is not installed. Help needed please.

My Entourage is very slow and 2 Error pop ups (above) are showing. Additionaly, a warning about the start up disc being full. I decided to back up to an external HD.When backing up I was surprised to see 9.4GB in the catagory named 'Other'. Ive probably got too much junk stored here (unless it could be imovie files?). If I could see what was in 'Other', and delete what I dont need, this may be the answer to freeing up more space. The next big file I have is under 'Pictures' which is 1.7GB. I have never downloaded any video or Youtube stuff.
This is my first experience on this forum.

Apple in their glorious wisdom did not update the root certificates for users of 10.5, only for 10.6 and later.
You'll need to make some changes, open your Keychain Access in your Applicaitons or Utilitties folder.
Delete the compromised DigiNotar root certificates, also change the KeyChain Access preferences > Certificates to
    Best Attempt
    Best Attempt
    Require Both
Because the Certificate Autorities themselves are being attacked, you need the most recent and varied source of valid certificates so your comptuer does the best it can to verify the site your visiting is legitiment.
Also make sure the time and date on your computer is accurate and updated with Apple's time severs, allow any such time requests out your outgoing firewall (aka LittleSnitch)
You might decide to upgrade to 10.6, it's the best OS version for users of Intel Mac's, strips out the PowerPC code your not using and improved video drivers for better graphics performance. It should run most of your 10.5 software with just minor updates at most.
Please backup your data off the machine (not TimeMachine) before doing anything as you might need to wipe the drive if the upgrade doesn't go correctly.

However OS X Lion 10.7 is a radical change, won't run your older software or drivers and likely be slow on most older hardware. I'd advise against installing it, buy it with a new machine instead.

  • As of today I get "This connection is untrusted" message for EVERY website, including all the ones that I've bookmarked and been using for years.

It's not an exception problem, as I get it on all the websites I try to visit and all of these have worked for years.

Who is the issuer of the certificate?
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
*Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
*Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer of the certificate.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.
If <b>"I Understand the Risks"</b> is missing then this page may be opened in an (i)frame and in that case try the right-click context menu and use "This Frame: Open Frame in New Tab".
*Note that some firewalls monitor (secure) connections and that programs like Sendori or FiddlerRoot can intercept connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.
*Note that it is not recommended to add a permanent exception in cases like this, so only use it to inspect the certificate.

  • Disable/Hide Data connection error pop ups in InfoPath 2010

    Hi All ,
I am trying to hide/Disable Error Messages Shown by data connection error. I do not want user to see the error , rather I would check through rules and query the Data source again.
Is this scenario possible at all.
For ex: I have a data connection to user profile server , if it gives and error on form load , I do not want to see the error popup instead i will query the data connection again.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Nandini

    Hello,
what would you expect to change between the first call to the data connection and the second call?
How would you "check through rules"?
I don't think the error message can be suppressed. If you don't want to query the data connection on form load, untick the box in the data connection settings.
    cheers, teylyn

  • Flash Player pops up on every website I search using Explorer

About a week ago, every time I opened Explorer, a box appeared from Internet Explorer Security stating "a website wants to open web content using this program (Adobe Flash Player), on your computer.  Allow or Not Allow".  Doesn't matter if I allow, not allow or just click on the red X to close out, the box continues to reappear.
I have uninstalled all Adobe programs and reinstalled them after disabling my Antivirus and Firewall settings.  After installations were complete I enabled my settings again and ran a scan on the new programs.  This did not solve the problems as said box continues to reappear.  I have also had Adobe Shockwave Player do the same thing.  I also attempted to restore to an earlier time of 2 weeks before this problem started but my computer would not allow me to restore back to that point.  I am also not able to download videos using my realplayer or windows media player, which I 'assume' requires the Adobe features.  Can you please help?   Thank you.

    Hi Pat,
Thank you for your response.  I checked Explorer and my setting is at medium high, just as it has always been.  I have disabled all of my add-ons and now don’t have the problem of the boxes continually popping up but now I am unable to download videos and music.  Could it be that Explorer is corrupt and should I reinstall it?  How do I uninstall it?  Appreciate your help.

  • Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at "Every Website" but IE and Safari work just fine.

    Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at google.com.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
    moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
    connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Just after closing games installed on my computer, my firefox browser is automatically activated and takes me to that company's website; how can I disable this

These games are downloads from various websites (myfreegames.com; gametop.com; freeridegames.com; others) and the action is always the same - as soon as I exit or close-out a game, Firefox immediately opens, and connects me with that particular game company's website. There must be some way to disable this. Please help.

To Tylerdowner - thanks for the info; I was afraid there'd be nothing in the Firefox program itself. I'm guessing there must be something embedded in the game program file that is triggered when I close the program. Anyway, thanks again for the help.
