  • Secure Download Manager not starting download? (Dreamspark)

    Hello,
for the past days I've been trying to download Windows 7 64bit (German) from Dreamspark. The download worked fine until it hit 45% and just stopped. No error messages or similar appeared. ( I've downloaded Windows 8 with no problem a couple of weeks ago,
so the problem is not my firewall / antivirus / settings..; tried different Systems.)
I've deleted the already downloaded files and restarted it, tried to download different files and even asked two friends to try to download something, unsuccessfully.
The problem is obviously on there end, not mine. Any ideas? I've been waiting for support for about 2 days..
    Thank you

I have very same problem with Secure Download Manager:
    - Download stucks on 0%, there is data transfer but there is no progress
    - Download starts, then after while of downloading ( about 30 minutes) it stops (complete lack of any data transfer) and then starts again or not. If it finishes downloading i get CRC error and SDM ask to download file again
    - Download starts (or is stuck at 0%) and i get error:
"The download cannot be completed. If a location selection is available for this  product, select another location. If no location selection is available, the download may fail to complete because no Internet connection was found, the  Internet connection
was lost or a firewall or proxy server exists between the client station and hosting location. Please try again later."
    From SecureDownloadManager.log [Download] [Error] OnErrorMessage FileKey 1 http://software.dreamspark.com/dreamspark/POLISH/pl_windows_7_professional_x64_dvd_x15-65829.01.sdc 503
The error repeats when i try again, but if it eventually starts to download i get CRC error at 100% and SDM ask me to download file again.
    Notes:
    - It happens both with my antivirus and firewall enabled and disabled (Microsoft Firewall is disabled)
    - I have Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421, 9.0.11
    - I have fully enabled javascript and activeX
    - My Java and Flash plugins are up to date
    - I tried to use diffrent internet, errors happens both at my home and at university campus internet
    - I already tried to download sdx file again, delete previously downloaded files and start again, reinstall SDM and reconnect internet, reboot my computer, clear cookies and browser cache.
    - Of course my internet connection is fully working, all other programs are downloading and uploading data flawlessly, only SDM that im forced to use is having problems.
Im from Poland and since few days (i wanted to download something again) it completly is not working. Its great to have access to so many programs but its sad i cant download anything because of that Secure Download Manager
I used "contact" form on onthehub site (that i use to order and download SDX files) but no response, today i send mail to
[email protected] and waiting for response. Is there any other mail i can send my problem to? Its getting really annoying i have access to so much programs but cant download any because of this Secure Download Manager :(

  • Secure Download Manager not working on Windows 8 PC!!

I want to download Visual Studio 2013, I have downloaded the Secure Download Manager but it will not run. I have installed the download manager, and there is even a shortcut option on my desktop. When I click on the desktop shortcut, or even if I right
click to open, nothing happens. I have uninstalled, and re-installed Secure Download Manager several times, still to no avail.

  • Secure Download Manager

    Hello,
i'm student and have permission to MSDN AA.
When i use SDM (Secure Download Manager) i have problem with my computer. For example "Start download" and than finishing 70-80% of download my computer hover and influence memory to 3.99 GB / 4.0GB and some time i can't work with my computer.
It's disturb my, why it's to slow my computer and increase memory......

    Hi all,
I've found a possible solution for extremely slow download speeds.
A possible cause under Windows Vista, 7, 8 is TCP/IP version 6 and/or QoS enabled in your network adapter.
If you encounter a slow download, e.g. 10% of what you expected, then try the following:
First of all, closing opened applications is recommended.
Open Network Properties (Start > Network > Rightclick > Properties)
Open "Adapter Settings" at the left side of the dialog
Locate the adapter that you are currently connected with your Internet. In most cases this is the "Local Area Network" or "Wireless Network"
Rightclick > Properties on the adapter
Disable the checkboxes in the dialog for "QoS" and "Internet Protocol Version 6"
    Apply dialog with OK
Rightclick > Properties on the adapter, then "Disable" (you will loose internet connection)
Rightclick > Properties on the adapter, then "Enable" (you will soon be reconnected)
I don't use an english version, so some names may vary.
You can easily undo the steps again, just enable the checkboxes again.
    Effects:
Before the increase, my Windows 7 setup (3 GB) download didn't finish within 15 hours.
After the increase it finished 7% of the whole download within few minutes.
    Side effects:
Disabling TCP/IP version 6 will probably have no effect on > 95% of all computers.
Disabling QoS (quallity of service) may have effect on some computers (approx 10%) causing worse performance duriing realtime conversations such as Skype, video conferences etc.
I am a little bit of disappointed from Microsoft in using that Secure Download Manager. This is not the quality and experience that I know and expect from Microsoft for so many years. Nevertheless, special thanks
to Microsoft for the great products.
    Best regards, Kadir

  • Secure download manager is a huge fail, why?

I can't believe, that Microsoft uses such a crappy download manager!!!! I'm downloading windows for 24h now and it's still not downloaded. How is this possible? Why don't you guys just put a normal download for the iso file or make a torrent? It would
be way faster and way better than this crappy SDM. I restarted SDM like 1000000 times and it still won't start downloading windows. Why is this so? How can a huge company like microsoft make such a bullshit download manager? If my file will get downloaded,
i could bet a million bugs, that it will be full of errors which have been caused by all those interruptions during downloading. Shame on you!

    Hi,
Have you checked the issue in safe mode with networking?
I would suggest you perform clean boot to see if any third party services are causing this issue.

  • Download manager error

    Hi experts
The Basket Content could not  be read .The following exception occured:null

    Hi Srinivas,
If you are using a proxy in your company for accessing internet then you need to give the same proxy there. If you proxy requires a user name and password then you need to mention that also there (Not the S-user id, but the one which you use for accessing internet).
If you are not using any proxy for accessing internet in your company then no need to maintain that.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Error message is 'The Request Error : 400' with SAP Download Manager

    Hello,
The authorization object SWDOWNLOAD (download software) is assigned to the My user ID.
But I could not download below that file.
    SAP_ABA 710 (4~8)
    SAP_BASIS 710 (4~8)
    PI_BASIS 2006_1_710 (4~8)
    SAP_BW 710 (4~8)
Error message is 'The Request Error : 400' with SAP Download Manager
I logged on to SAP Service Marketplace, software download area /swdc.
I have created objects in the download basket and have received approvals (->Maintenance-Optimizer) where required.
I start the SAP Download Manager and the objects from the download basket are visible in the object list of the program window.
After I choose "Objects for Download", the system starts the download.
In the info-line (in the lower part of the window), the system displays the message 'Processing object...' and then 'The request failed: 400'.

    Hello,
In these cases the following things should be checked:
1.- Please be sure that you are using the latest Donwload Manager version
2.- S-User and password should be active
3.- Specify the proxy. Please refer to SAP Note 155954
4.- It might be that you are not licensed for the product you want to download.
If the checkings above are correct and the problem is still alive, I would recommend you to open an SAP customer message under component XX-SER-SAPSMP-SDM providing the following information:
1.- The exactly software product name and package or stack number you try to download.
2.- Attach to the message the results of the trace file generated as per note 574885:
574885 - Download Manager: Generate trace file for analysis
    I hope this helps you.
    Regards,
    Blanca

  • I get an error trying to install the download manager prior to downloading my new DW CC. Any ideas?

    Operating system - Windows 7 (64b)
    Computer ASUS
Running Windows Security Essentials and a couple of malware scanners
Are there any special requirements to get this download manager to install?
I have Carbonite backup that was in progress, and I paused that. Also turned off the malware scanners.
Here's the message I get "Adobe Application Manager is corrupted and must be reinstalled. Please contact Customer Service, which evidently doesn't exist except in these volunteer forums. Not impressed so far.
    Message was edited by: bethjinkerson
I resolved this myself. Instead of installing the application manager, I needed to install Cloud Desktop. That seems to have allowed me to install Dreamweaver.

  • How to fix Adobe App Manager error code -60 Download appears corrupt but only for Photoshop CS6 app

How to fix Adobe App Manager error code -60 Download appears corrupt but only for Photoshop CS6 Creative Suite Cloud App. Many attempts were made to install Photoshop CS6 with Adobe Application Manager without success. Every other Creative Suite Application was successfully downloaded. I keep getting Installation Failed when attempting the Photoshop install. How does one correct this?

Thanks Jeff! So, it totally appears as if it was a network issue. The corporate network where I work is quite likely the culprit. Where I was thrown off is that since I have admin rights on my computer, I can install software. But using Adobe Application Manager to install Adobe software wasn't working. And to make matters worse, there didn't appear to be any way to install Acrobat Pro for Mac without using AAM. The workaround that I used previously was to install the trial versions of Adobe software, and then just register them using my username and password. But the workaround for being able to install everything using AAM was to bring my computer home and download from my home network.

  • Download Manager - failing with error 400 Bad Request

Each time I try to download some patches from the download basket I get this error: The request failed: 400.  Download Manager says the files are Partially Downloaded but the downloads never complete (they just cycle round one after another attempting each download before failing).  The connection to SAP ssems to be made correctly (see trace file extract below)
I'm running JRE version 1.4.2_12; download manager ver 2.1.130.  I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling JRE & download manager (numerous times).  Does anyone have any suggestions about what might be the cause?

Yes - I've checked the address w're pointing to & have rechecked several times with our network people re: the proxy.
The trace seems to show that we're certainly making the initial connections to SAP OK - it just gives up after a few redirections.

  • Download Manager on my PC giving useless error

First, let me apologize if I am posting this is the wrong place.  Doesn't seem to be a single forum for Download Manager issues.
OK,  I uninstalled DM and installed Java 1.4.2_12 as per "Installing the Download Manager".  I then installed DM and chose this flavor of Java to use (I also have 1.6 on my PC for some Oracle/HP apps).
When I fire up DM to get at my basket I get the wonderfule descriptive error:
"The basket contents could not be read.  The following exception occured:
    null"
I tried removing what I had in my basket and readding it.  Same error.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Vince

    Hi,
This happens if the DM is not able to connect to SAP SMP. This is not the issue with the DM but its the issue with the proxy settings in your machine.
Make sure that you have entered the correct proxy settings in the Download Manager Configuration in the View menu and then try again.
    Good Luck...

    Go to the '''[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ Mozilla Add-ons Web Page]''' {web link}
(There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a download manager.
You can also get a separate program that can do the downloading
    leaving the browser free.
