Secure Link to iTunes Failed: Please Help

I am trying to update my iPhone 3gs from 4.0 to 5.1.1 and I keep getting error 3194, which is a connection error to the firmware server...
I have tried almost everything I have found on the Internet.
Here are the things I have tried:
1. Checked Host File.... Looks Fine
2. Used the laptop... Same Issue
3. Used the laptop on someone else's internet.... Same Issue
4. Re-did all the internet options
I am technically sabby, so I am willing to try anything.
Here is my iTunes Diagnostics:

When i open my itunes store, it says secure link to itunes failed and it doesnt load up, what seems to be the problem here? appreciate all the help i can get, thanks!

Yes, provided all the media is inside the iTunes Media folder, which is in turn inside the main iTunes folder (which is the standard arrangement) you should be able to move the iTunes folder from <User's Music> to any other path and shift-start-Tunes (option-start-iTunes on a Mac) to reconnect to it.
If the media folder has split out to another drive in the past, or media is stored outside of the iTunes Media folder, then things get a bit more complicated. I can go into details should it be necessary.

  • Secure link to iTunes failed

I use Firefox and have been unable to update iTunes. when running iTunes diagnostics, the Network Connectivy Test results say "Secure link to iTunes failed". Can someone help me here?

    Hey there SMoose6,
It sounds like you are unable to connect to the iTunes Store securely. I found this article to help you troubleshoot the message named:
iTunes: About the "A secure network connection could not be established" alert
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1470
In an effort to protect your privacy, iTunes uses the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol when you sign in to the iTunes Store. The SSL protocol uses port 443, the date and time, and other information from your computer to function as expected. The troubleshooting steps below will address the most commonly incorrect information that SSL and the iTunes Store require; this should resolve the issue and the alert should no longer appear.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • Please help? secure link to itunes failed  Windows 7 PC

Hope someone can help? I cannot connect to the iTunes store from my windows 7 PC which is plugged into a Belkin modem router.  There is just a mainly white Itunes screen with the never-ending ‘accessing Itunes bar’ going round and round endlessly. I can access the Itunes store from the Ipod touch used wirelessly. Internet is assessable as normal through Firefox or Windows Explorer with no problems.
I have tried very many things suggested on itunes help, but no luck and the internet works for everything else on the computer. I have run itunes diagnostic and the only red light is for ‘secure link to the itunes store failed’, but the network connection is verified. Clicked on help button next to the red light, but nothing came up.   I checked the exceptions on the Windows Firewall and both itunes and bonjour are ticked.  I also did ipconfig/flushdns. DNS resolver cashe was flushed.
Any idea what can I do to fix this (in very easy step-by step way as am not a computer wiz)?

  • TS1368 I cannot connect to iTunes store using iTunes. 'Secure link to iTunes store failed'. Please help!

I cannot connect to iTunes store using iTunes. I have version 11.0.2.26 on Win 7 pc. I have had no problems until recently. Can't say exactly the problem began as I don't normally use my computer to access the store but my last successful access according to iTunes diagnostics was 28th Feb 2013 (if thats useful?!)
I've run the Network Connectivity Test in iTunes diagnostics and I got the following results:
    - Network interfaces verified.
    -Internet connection verified.
    -Secure link to iTunes failed.
When I click the help button next to the 'Secure link to iTunes failed' message I get the following:
''iTunes Help is unavailable because your computer isn't connected to the internet.'
My pc is connected to the internet. I've checked firewalls. Windows firewall is off. I'm running AVG internet security 2013. Iv've checked the firewall settings on that and iTunes is not being blocked.
Getting kinda frustrated. Can anybody help please???

I seem to have tracked down the problem. AVG Family Safety software was causing the issue somehow. I have uninstalled it and iTunes now working. I will contact AVG for a solution as I now have no way of blocking certain sites.

  • Secure link to iTunes Store failed: HELP!

I'm new to iTunes and purchased my first iPod yesterday night. The first time I plugged in my iPod to sync it, I wasn't able to. At first I had version 10 then it updated. On the previous version I was able to access the iTunes store but wasn't able to sync my iPod. I had downloaded the most recent version of iTunes (10.1) and then this problem occured.
"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. The network connection timed out. Please make sure that the network settings are correct and that your netowrk is connected, then try again."
I've read several different manuals and emailed Apple about it. I've tried a lot of different things to fix it.
    +-change firewall settings+
    +-redownloaded iTunes+
    +-contacted Apple Tech Support+
    +-changed proxy settings+
    +-changed permissions+
    +-disabled firewall+
    +-restarting iTunes+
    +-restarting router+
And several others. Nothing seems to work. I ran a diagnostic review and this is what came up.

    *Internet connection verified*
*Secure link to iTunes Store failed*

What do I do? Any information and suggestions would be very helpful.

i found a solution that worked in my case..i found it in this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2284692?start=0&tstart=0 in texlark's post..i copied and pasted it here:
The Fix (& It's NOT Your Firewall)
    A. Symptoms
When you try to connect to the iTunes Store you may receive the alert message "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occured (-9808). There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."
    B. Resolution
Check your computer's date, time, and time zone. Set the correct date, time, and time zone if needed. If your computer's date, time, and time zone are all correct and you still see this alert message, this issue can be resolved by modifying certain settings in the Internet Options control panel:
    1) Go to the Start menu and choose Control Panel.
    2) Select Internet Options.
Note: If you are using Windows Vista you may need to select Classic View on the left before you can see Internet Options.
Note: If you are using WIndows 7 you may need to change "View by" to either Large icons or Small icons before you can see Internet Options.
    3) Click the Advanced tab.
    4) In the Settings box, scroll down to the Security section.
    5) Deselect the option to "Check for server certificate revocation (requires restart)."
    6) Select the options for "SSL 3.0" and "TLS 1.0."
