Secure one consolidation area - authorization question

Hi,
I want to secure one consolidation area within an SAP SEM Sandbox (on Netweaver 2004 basis) for the consolidation workbench (ucwb).
The background is, that i´ll have on consolidation are for traiing purposes with a showcase (that i want to secure) and the other consolidation area´s can be used for sandbox purposes.
I try to find the correct authorizations object to avoid these one cons. area from changes, but I don´t find anything.
Do you have some idea´s, which authorization object(s) I can use for this purpose?

thanks for your answer. But how can I control the authorization check for the consolidation area? Which elements are responsible for this authorization check, that I have to assign to the users, which are not allowed to change the consolidation area in the consolidation workbench, or is this authorization check only valid within the Consolidation Monitor?

One computer, 4 authorizations for same song on it: what's with that?

I have only used one computer and my iphone for the itunes I have purchased but when I went to play a purchased song iTunes said I had to authorize it on this same computer. Then iTunes said I only had one autorization left. This problem is likely due to the fact that I had to resore my itunes from a windows live onecare backup after reformatting the c drive. Is there a way I can always have the songs I originally inported or downloaded into this specific computer recognize themselves as authorized always on this computer one time? When I resored, iTunes set the songs up in a differnt iTunes directory than it was formerly in. All my other mp3s moved around ok. Can somebody help me with this? I'm not going to buy this stuff over and over again nad if I can't get it to work, I'll download elsewhere than from iStore.

WARNING I just received word from the IBM CERT Team that the security for Microsoft Live has been breached. Their recommendation is to have nothing to do with it until Microsoft is able to redo the security. At the present time the hackers are to defeat the Microsoft Live security one third of the time.

I had my itunes software on my laptop with the songs on a portable hard drive. The laptop was stolen, the portable hard drive was not. I installed itunes on the new laptop and pointed to the music on the portable hard drive and it is telling me I am not authorized to play certain songs although I have authorized the computer. Also when I try to snyc my iphone it is saying it is going to erase all the songs on the iphone and replace them. I have purchased songs on the phone that are not in my itunes.
How do I resolve this?

Have you tried to play one of the songs in iTunes? It should then ask you to authorize them.

De-authorize the computer in question.
Then authorize the new computer.
Or de-authorize all computers and authorize only the ones that actually exist.

I kind of worked out the you need to pull out the page id out of the URL and display it that way, but it fails if you have more than one page (you could check across all pages that are part of the secure zone I guess).
Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Using more than one Business area in the same report

Is it possible / recommended to use more than one business area in the same report.
For example, I have a sales (business area sales) report on one tab and a rebates(rebates business area) report on a second tab.

Possible: yes
Recommended: no
This can certainly be done and Discoverer will not prevent you from having reports that use different business areas as you describe.
However, for management and security purposes it does not make for ease of use. As you know a user has the ability to share a workbook with another user. If they do this then ALL reports within that workbook are shared. If the receiving user does not have access to one or more of the business areas then some reports will run and some will not. This can be very confusing to an end user and a possible nightmare to administer.
My recommendation would be to have a workbook per business area and not mix.
If there is more than one business area per functional area, for example sales and returns, then so long as the users have access to both business areas then you could use a common workbook.
Personally I would not even do this, so my strongest advice would be to have all reports in a workbook written against the same business area.

I want two members of our staff to be able to add and delete names as user come and go (we are a K-12 school). At the present, the only way they can do the job is to enable them to have security like an admin.
This isn't good because I need to create a couple of "high-level" folders and if these two have admin privileges, it defeats the purpose of creating a secure environment.
Is there a way to make it so that access is limited on Console One (we are running the latest version like that came with the upgrade to Netware 6.5 sp 8) or will I need to use iManager. If I have to use iManager, how do I go about seeing up limited permissions.

Also factor in that when you use an Inherited Rights Filter (IRF) you cannot filter out the "Supervisor" right so its best not to use it unless you absolutely need to or you are troubleshooting something. Your designated administrators will be able to do what ever they need to do with create and delete rights. Avoid "Add Self" as well unless you really understand how it works as it could leave you with security issues to handle after the fact.
Its also tempting to assign read and compare rights to "All Attributes". This makes many delegated administrative tasks easier but if you keep secure information in your tree like SSNs you won't want unauthorized users having access to them.
Also, always test your work by assessing the effective rights one object has to another when you're done to ensure you get the expected results.

In this client, we have two company codes under one controlling Area
Will there be any authorisation issues (ie getting the information of other company code date) in Co reports (z reports, standard reports, report painter)?
Any thoughts on this is helpful for me.

HI,
Authorization is a flexible tool used to have control as per organization policies.
For your specific requiremnt u can set the profiles with Technicals persons help with the desired authorizations . Authorization can be set for single company code or multicompany codes as per our requirement.
You can make a authorization profile/s and assign the desired roles.

To design supply area one storage location can be assigned to several supply area however one supply area cannot be assigned to several storage locations.
2whether the TR can be created automatically when release the production order if the produciton order is in the plant B.
To create TR automatically you have to configure at movement type & storage type level.

Consolidation process at a specific consolidation area level

We are implementing SEM BCS 4.0.
In this release is possible to work with original financial statements in all the perimeter and also consider the manual adjustments only in each consolidation unit/area individually. That is, we donu2019t want to use the cascade consolidation process (postings at a lower consolidation area level are updated/considered at upper consolidation area) because we only want that each adjustment only affects the specific consolidation area and not the upper ones.
Is this possible? We do not know any configuration to have this method available in this release.

For me it's a little bit strange requirement. In order to achieve this you just do not need the consolidation system at all.
If you, anyway, use the BCS system, then use the flat cons units hierarchy: a fictitious head with all your units underneath. Do whatever operations you need and do not use reporting from the head, only from the units.

SEM BCS - Error in Consolidation Area

When i save my consolidation area, there is an error message.
it is "Syntax error in GP_ERR_UCDTYPE, row 8.880".
The Diagnosis said "Component called REFYEAR already exists".
I can not found "REFYEAR" in my system.
I am using info cube 0BCS_C11.

Though I am not an expert in this area I have found the following information with a similar problem in another customer that maybe useful:
"On the basis of your problem description it seems that you assigned in
the data basis maintenance the `SEM-BCS info-object catalogue` for
characteristics and key figures to the two info-object catalogues (on
the first tab strip of data basis maintenance). This makes the trouble.
Please read the F1 help carefully and if you need an extra info-object
catalogue, then please create one. Please note that the SEM-BCS standard
info-object catalogues are NOT appropriate for this purpose.
F1 help:
"InfoObject Catalog for Characteristics
InfoObject catalog of the SAP Business Information Warehouse to include
additional characteristics.
Use
You use this field as follows:
In a data basis, the InfoObject catalog contains the quantity of
additional fields that can be selected on the Additional Financial Data
tab page for investments and equity.
In a source data basis, the InfoObject catalog portrays the definition
of an external field catalog, which can be used in a method of the
category Flexible Upload, if a data basis was allocated to the source
data basis."
In order to remove the info-object catalogs you can use the transaction
UCWB01.
