Secure Page lock icon on browser

I'm calling the worldsecuresystems page for my subscription form page... https:// (etc) - is there a reason the lock icon in the browser isn't showing up?? it would make me feel so good! https://bigriverreport.worldsecuresystems.com/big-river-report-subscription-form

Probably a false positive for you because I see it all secure just fine. BUT
The reasons I can see why..
<link href="http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Kameron:700,400" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
This is not secure.

Will allow this to work on http and https

  • The security "golden lock icon" can no longer be seen. I want it back.

Prior to FF4 installation, when I entered a secure site to make payments or purchases, a small icon (a gold lock) appeared and I was reassured that my info was secure.
It is no longer there and I do not feel comfortable in proceeding.
Is there anyway I can get it back or, at least, an acceptable alternative ???

It's just a pity that more effort wasn't made when FF4 was launched to inform people of such a radical change. It is far from intuitive, and the advice from most providers of secure services is to "look out for the padlock". i.e. it is considered to be an industry-wide standard.

  • How come there is no "Safety Lock" icon when you are accessing your personal bank info?

How come there is no "safety lock" icon picture in the tool bar when your accessing personal banking info. On other browsers, it shows that the Internet line is secure (the Lock icon) is in the address line. There's nothing on using Firefox.

Padlock is no longer part of Firefox; it was removed beginning in Firefox 4. The padlock shows that there is a secure connection but does not supply additional information. You could have made a typographical error and still have been connected to a secure connection. The padlock was replaced in Firefox 3 with the Site Identity Button. • What happened to the lock icon appearing on a secured web page?

Since I upgraded to Firefox 5.0, I do not see the yellow lock icon on the web page indicating it is a secured page, such as an online shopping site where a credit card number or address is entered.

The padlock only shows that there is a secure connection and doesn't guarantee that you are connected to the right server. So you might still be connected to the wrong server if you make a typo in the URL and someone has claimed that mistyped URL.
The functionality of the padlock has been replaced by the Site Identity Button on the left end of the location (address) bar.

  • With Firefox 4.0 I cannot find a lock icon designating a secure site even though it is indicated by "https". Is this an omission or do I need to turn on the feature?

The redesign of the browser for Firefox 4.0 seems to be missing the display of the lock icon that I am accustomed to looking for when seeking assurance that the site I am visiting is using Secure Socket Layer protection for my personal information. I can see the "https" designation in the address line but miss the added confirmation provided by the lock icon. I am running Windows XPPro SP3 and using Classic views instead of the standard XP theme - could this have something to do with it or do I need to turn on an option to have the lock shown?

The padlock has been replaced by the site identity button, for details on using it see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Site+Identity+Button

  • The lock symbol does not appear when I open a secure page in firefox 4.0. Has this been removed?

Previously, using firefox 3.6.1, when I opened a secure or encrypted page, the lock icon appeared on that page.
When I upgraded to firefox 4.0, the lock icon is no longer appearing when I open a secure page. Please confirm whether this has been removed or in the alternative whether there is a way to determine that the secure or encrypted page is indeed secure to use.

  • The old status bar showed a lock icon when on a secure site - where is that lock icon in vers 4?

The status bar was along the bottom of the window. At the right end of that bar, a lock icon would appear when you are on a secure site, like banking or bill pay. With the status bar now gone, where do I see that lock icon?

The padlock is no longer a part of Firefox; it can give users a false sense that a site is secure by not supplying all of the information about a site. Familiarize yourself with the '''''Site Identity Button''''' in Firefox:

  • Where is the lock symbol that tells me I am on a secure page in Firefox 5.0

I just recently upgraded to Firefox 5.0. The old version had a little lock in the bottom right hand corner that signified that I was on a secure page (for banking, shopping checkout, etc). I do not know where to check on the page of this new version to be sure that I am on a secure page before entering the required checkout info.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Safari 8 not displaying lock icon for https secured websites

It seems that Safari 8 (installed with Yosemite) is not showing the lock icon for HTTPS websites.
I can't find a way to see the security certificates for secure websites.
I switched the “Show full website address” setting in Safari's Preferences, but nothing happened.
It's essential having this icon, or any way to tell if the site is secure or not.
I don't see any other option in the menus or anywhere else in Safari to see a sites certificates.

I'm not sure if Safari was updated since your question, but today the lock icon is in the address bar right next to the address

  • Self secured page not working in multiple sessions of same browser

    Hi
I have created a selfsecured page by making security mode of page 'selfsecured' and adding validateParameter() in page controller.I didnt do guest user/resp setup as I want user to manually provide user id and choose responsibility,XLA_LINESINQ_GL_DRILLDOWN is a seeded function so no changes there.
I am seeing very inconsistent behavior.
1)At some times when I invoke function through url
    http://rws60180rems.us.oracle.com:8049/OA_HTML/RF.jsp?function_id=XLA_LINESINQ_GL_DRILLDOWN&jeHeaderId=64524&jeLineNum=1&jeSource=Payables&searchType=customize
I get error "You are not authorized to access the function SLA: View Subledger Journal Entry Linesfrom a GL Journal Line. Please contact your System Administrator."
2)On other times url works and user is taken to Ebs R12 login page, after providing login credentials user is able to view the page. But If I invoke same url or url with different parameters in different tab of browser or different window of same browser, get following error.Basically user can invoke this function and use this url only one at a time which is not practical in real world
"You are trying to access a page that is no longer active.
    - You may have attempted to access to this page directly by bookmarking the page or copying the URL. This page does not support bookmarking.
    - The referring page may have come from a previous session. Please select Home to proceed."
Am I missing something in my implementation? Are there any fnd profiles which control page behavior.Does OAF support that self secured pages successfully open in multiple browser windows.
    Preeti

    Hi,
Is there any specific requirement to make the page as self secured, as most of the self selcured pages are build for guest user account. If there is any, kindly share.
Now lets talk about the behaviour of the pages in different scenarios
    1) I get error "You are not authorized to access the function SLA: View Subledger Journal Entry Linesfrom a GL Journal Line. Please contact your System Administrator."
Comment: As OAF pages does certain initialization like setting org_id, language etc based on the login user. But as you are trying to access the page by directly hitting the URL on browser, this might be one of the reason that you are getting above error.
    2) On other times url works and user is taken to Ebs R12 login page, after providing login credentials user is able to view the page. But If I invoke same url or url with different parameters in different tab of browser or different window of same browser, get following error.Basically user can invoke this function and use this url only one at a time which is not practical in real world
Comment: As there is an active transaction and session for the browser, so it won't allow you to start with another transaction. But still can you try to do the same in another machine. Some of the browser allows you to have different session.
    Regards,
    Gyan

  • Locking/password securing pages documents

Is there a way to lock or password secure pages documents? I am starting to journal in pages and I'd like to keep the files private. I know there's a way to restrict privileges for other user accounts but I'd like to be able to password secure the file on my account as well. Is there a way pages would allow me to do that?

passing a record id in the url is not a problem as long as
    you use
<cfqueryparam> in your queries to prevent sql injection
    attacks. passing
sensitive info in url (usernames, passwords) is not a good
    idea at all.
you may also want to set the scriptprotect attribute of
    <cfapplication>
tag in your Application.cfm to appropriate value ("all" is
    good).
on your hosting server they should have robust error
    reporting turned
off - if they don't consider finding another host...

  • Where is the FF4 "lock" icon that indicates secure and encrypted transmission?

Prior to FF4 upgrade, a 'lock' icon would appear on bottom of screen to indicate when of if transmission was secure. With FF4 this icon never appears (or I don't know where to find it). Does it have a new location? Is there some way to have it return for those sites with which transmission will be encrypted?

The lock has been replaced by the [[Site Identity Button]], which will tell you whether the connection is encrypted ''and'' the identity of the web site on the other end of the connection.
The reason for this change is that it is important to verify identity, not just security. The "lock" icon could be misleading, because an encrypted connection is not actually secure unless the identity is verified too.
