Secure Zone & Muse

How do you set up a secure zone using Adobe Muse. I have tried BCgurus, but it doesn't work. Can someone help me?

It depends on how far you want to take it, I understand Muse is very limited with the module and tag use. IT cant do full on sites. You can use the admin to set things up and do as much as you can in Muse but you may need to use another actual coding app to do more.

I having a lot of trouble in the following task I need to do in Adobe Muse and integrate in Business Catalyst.
1) I need to create a contact form page (with username and login)
2) I need that this contact form integrates with BC to store my subscribers infos
3) Then, I need to create a login and username page that when my client logs in, the info that he previously filled in appears to him (as a My Account page).
4) Of course, this My account page must a in a secure zone area, but each client should have his own personal My account page.
Is this possible? I think it is. (Muse Theme site is an example)

Answering the questions :
1) Publish the site to BC and then create a form on BC end , assign to a secure zone ( which you will have to create ).
2) You can register users in your site using same form.
3) Use login form in page where user can login , landing page for secure zone can be made as web app page. Web app needs to be created for customer accounts and in layout you can use different tags to show cases information which user has submitted etc.
4) Web app is the way out.

Secure Zone Log In Box issues (when published from Muse)

I can't log in to one secure zone when I publish the log in box from Muse. When I put the same log in box on a page in Business Catalyst, I am able to use it to log in. However when I take the log in box code and publish from Muse, it keeps denying access. All other log in boxes for other secure zones on the site are working but they have been in place for a while. Has something changed with a newer version of Muse?
Is there a work around for this (like the way webforms made in BC now have to published in BC and submitted to prevent deletion by publication from Muse)?

Please share the link to the page where the form is placed , along with test user login details, so that we may further look into this. Also a screenshot demonstrating the issue you facing would be of great help.

Adobe Muse and Secure Zones

I have an Adobe muse site that I am trying to add a secure zone too. I have done everything I need to add the secure zone. I even set up the form with a user name and password. My problem is when i take the HTML code for the form and insert it into my adobe muse site and upload the site the form is deleted from the Business Catalyst portal. So the secure zone exists and I am able to log in with a user name and password that was manually entered in the portal. However, if you try to fill out the form on the site after hitting submit you will notice that the form says its not longer valid, I'm guessing because the upload from muse deleted the form from the web forms manager. Any help is appreciated.

JD, you need to follow these steps to avoid your forms getting deleted when publishing from Muse:
Create the Web Form in BC
Add it to a page (any page, even a blank page)
Submit the form once
Now if you publish from Muse, your web form won't get deleted anymore.

Help with secure zone/ forum registration

Im having difficulty grasping the secure zone concept and ive spent days watching videos and reading online so I hope someone can help push me forward.
I built the site with Muse, and im using dreamweaver and the BC site (older view) to help edit. I have a creative cloud subscription.
First I want to create a registration page to collect custom information on users, for example: The site is about traveling, so I want users to be able to select which countries they have visited, upload a photo, and control their own profile.
I want this user information to control the forums, their own blog, and their own photo galleries.
I'm not afarid of doing the work it till take to get this done but I dont understand if I need to use webforms, or web app. The forums module has a default registration page that is very basic, can I use that for a template and just expand it?
Also I attempted to make webforms and use them, however when I publish my site live again in muse, it seems to delete any forms I made in BC, do I need finish using muse and stay away from it now that the basics are complete?

You can not do that in BC exactly. It is not designed for that sort of site.
You can not use the CRM to build that sort of thing.
You will need to build a blog with webb apps and allow them to submit their own and edit their own web app items. For the forums you have a login for the forums but you can not have their own indevidual forum.
Photo gallery - not using the BC module and will again have to be a web app and limited.
To pull that into a public profile you again can not use the CRM as showing their CRM information is ONLY when THEY are logged in. You would have to replicate their data in another web app. And pulling them together will be hard unless you know ajax etc and still complicated.
You probably better off using a different platform to achieve what your after. Coming from Muse and what that outputs as well your going to have a hard time of it. You can not use Muse to publish if you want more stuff like this because it will just do an all in one publish. If you do stick with BC you have to now Ditch Muse if you watn to do any of this right and more.

Secure Zone expiry by article value not by date

Hello Everyone,
We have been researching the BC tools along with Muse and love what we have found so far.
One request/feature we would like to explore...
Is it possible to calculate a members Secure Zone expiry by value rather than by date?
The reason I am asking is because a request has been raised that:
We apply a 'value/points' to a page/article (e.g. 2 points for a small article and 10 points for a long report).
When a member views the page, that 'value' is deducted from their 'total points' .
As a member uses up their pre purchased 'points' they would need to purchase more to see more articles in the secure zone.
Any comments on feasibility or other solutions are welcome.

You can not do this in BC out of the box and 100% not through Muse.
You would have to build a combo of custom CRM fields for logged in users and possible API work to know total point values of content etc. But then if they are things like pages, blog, web apps the new API's are not for external API access just yet.

Upgrading secure zone

Hi all,
I am looking to create a free trial secure zone and let users upgrade to a paid secure zone after 2 months.
When i pre-populate the fields with their username and email (the user will be logged into their trial account to access this form), when they submit the form, does business catalyst automatically add the new secure zone to the existing account, such that the account that the current user has will be subscribed to 2 secure zones?
Also, is it possible to program it such that the system will automatically send a notification via email when the user's subscription is about to expire? Like 2 weeks in advance,,

Set expiration dates for Secure Zone Memberships

We run an online exercise company offering memberships with access to exercise videos so users can exercise online - we sell memberships by the week, month, or month to month memberships. We also sell a beginner courses. The site has been built in Adobe Muse, integrated with Business Catalyst.
For the time-based memberships we have inserted a snippet of code in Business Catalyst that limits the amount of time members have access to the secure zone where we keep the videos - this is tied to the form members fill out when they purchase. The issue is that when the entire Muse site is republished or just the page with the form - the code disappears. So we have to go into each form and reinsert the code. This has been going on for quite some time. Below is most of the code we've been using - which we found in Business Catalyst Forum Section a couple years ago:

If you are using BC secure zones then you can setup the expiry date from BC end only, regarding the code that you are using , I believe you are trying to use specific form for secure zone sign up and limiting the expiry date.
Regarding form code being stripped off, are you submitting the form once from site front end and then also code is stripped off ?

Secure Zone

Hello, My BC only has 2 options within Site Manger (Web Forms and System Emails). I want to create a Secure Zone on my Muse site (published via BC). I've just watched the BCGurus tutorial videos about how to do this but I don't have the Secure Zone option in my Site Manager - why not? How do I get it?

The adobe forums for Muse seem to suggest that a BC secure zone can be inserted into a muse site. What are the limitations of Muse when using BC?

Secure Zone Help Needed

I want to add a secure zone to my website so I can create a members-only section to the website. I created it in Adobe Muse and am hosting it through Adobe Catalyst. I am trying to follow the instructions provided here: http://kb.worldsecuresystems.com/kb/add-secure-area-your-site.html . However, I do not have a link in my Site Manager that says "Secure Zone" like the instructions say I should. The only two links in this area are "Web Forms" and "System Email". I have the webBasics account. Do I need to upgrade to have a Secure Zone?

Secure Zone Customer Activity Tracking

I'm new to Business Catalyst, so this may be obvious to some of you, but I have a question about tracking customer activity on my Business Catalyst site. I can track logins into Secure Zones, but only whether/not the customer has logged into the site.
What I'd really like to do is track a customer's usage of the site - in other words, I'd like to see what a customer's activity looks like on the site. So if a customer goes from Home (secure zone login), to About, to whatever other page. I suppose how much time they spend is too granular, but if I could figure out how to track their site usage, it'd really help me with a client. The only way I can see how to do it on my own is to require users to log in to every single page, which compromises far too much usability.
So, how about it? Is there anyone that can provide a suggestion, either using the BC interface, or using some other type of tracking mechanism?

BC can't do that out of the box. You may want to use Google Analytics for that.

Why do I get these messages "logged in but not to a specific secure zone"

Could anyone please explain why this messge would appear on the dashboard
'username' logged in but not to a specific secure zone
instead of
'username' logged in to Member Only Area secure zone
On this website, customers can only log on to a secure zone, and there is only one secure zone.

Thank you for your response.
There are only two places users could log in, and none have ZoneID=-1
I tested both options with one of my own (non admin account) login, and none produced the above message.

both ZoneID's are the same
What is weird though, only one specific user account is generating that message.
At this stage the user has not complained about not being able to access his/her data yet.
My only concern was that this could be a possible security risk.

How to use single web form for multiple secure zone signup?

I have multiple secure zones in my website. I want to sell membership of secure zones to users of my website. I want, users signup for multiple secure zone of their choice and submit payment. Is it possible if can you please explain a bit or refer me to an doc about it.

I realize this isn't likely, but do you know of a way to allow the user to select the secure zone to be registered (e.g. from a list of multiple secure zones or entering ID of one sz into a text input) from within a single web form? I wonder if this can be passed in through a parameter in the action URL or through a special system field.

How to create a Payment Form for access to multiple secure zones

I'm trying to create a Payment Form that allows the user to select from a dropdown of videos, each of which represents a secure zone page with an embedded video.
What I can't figure out -- and tech chat can't help -- is how to redirect the user to the correct secure zone for the video they purchased.
Videos are are streaming, vimeo embeds, not downloads.
Anyone know how to do this? Can post link to test form if you need it.

This can be done for already available list. Have a look at the following steps:
Create an Empty SharePoint Project, then right click the project, add SharePoint “Layouts” Mapped Folder.
Right click the project name, add New item Application Page, then add the custom code there.
Under Features, add a feature, right click the added feature then add an event receiver, override the FeatureActivated method to set the new edit/new form as the default form.
How to set new form as default form:

To add a custom list form, the best way I think is using SharePoint Designer 2010, it’s very fast.
