Securing payload in message monitoring using SAP note 1370334

Hi Experts,
I am working to implement SAP note 1370334 to PI server.For that i have created :
1. an xml file having actions and roles according to the SAP note and zipped in .EAR file and given to BASIS team to deploy that .EAR file.
2.BASIS deployed that .EAR file successfully.
To test whether the SAP note has been uploaded successfully or not, we asked BASIS to create two 'test user ids' with minimum authorisation.
When I am testing through RWB to see payload without assigning any roles to the created test user, it is showing 'No authorisation'.
But when we assigned role to one test user, both the test user are able to see the payload.But according to the SAP note, payload should be visible to one user only not to the other.
And according to roles assinged in Action.xml file, display authorisation is only from sender service 'A' to receiver service 'B' but message content are visible for all services.
Canm anyone help me why is it happening or where I am going wrong or suggest me if I am testing in wrong way??

is ur mesage ie sxmb_moni in red staus or scheduled status...??
if in scheduled cud be errors with queues ...delete ur queues with tcodes : smq1 and smq2...
and also hopefully u must have configured ur idoc correctly..

R/3 Secure Store and Forward, while using SAP portal for SSO

Hello,
We are using SAP Portal UME for authentication, then SAP SSO tickets to log into the SAP R/3 system. Initially we decided that the end users would have a "disabled password" so that they must use the portal authentication mechanism to get into R/3 and therefore could not log in straight to R/3 system via SAP GUI.
All was working fine until during integration testing when someone tried to use the electronic signature function on a QM t-code (QA11) that prompted for an e-sig. Since local passwords have been disabled, the user could not execute the e-sig.
We do not want to activate local R/3 passwords for the users. Can anyone give some advice or a best practice regarding how to set up electronic sigs in R/3 while using an external authentication source? FYI, we are also trying to avoid using the LDAP connector from R/3 to our LDAP.
Please comment for any clarity needed or comments,

Well, theoretically one could make use of the fact that an NWAS ABAP can act as http client (submitting http requests to the NWAS Java to validate logon data); but that's just a rough idea.

Add "Payload" to Message Monitoring Alerts

I am following the How to Guide on Monitor XI 3.0.
I have set up an Alert with varibales as per section 4.2 - Message Based Alerting. All working well and emailing notifications of failiures.
I have searched Help.sap.com, http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/43/1b9259fb002be8e10000000a11466f/frameset.htm and found I can add specific fields from the payload, but I want to attach the whole message...
Is it possible to add the "message Payload to the notification" as well?? If so,where can find more info on this??

If you want your Alerts to be genearted automatically in the background, then I guess only the container variables available on SAP help can be used.
But if you are looking to use alerts in BPM, then I think this weblog by michal might help you,

How to override security for table access when using SAP Query?

We have a number of infosets which use table join between PA0001 and CATSDB table. To execute a query based on such a query you would need access to table auth group PA through S_TABU_DIS. This was earlier not a problem as SAP query was earlier used by support staff and not end users. We do not want to give S_TABU_DIS with to end users as this amounts to givin them access to all PA tables.
The generated code for the query checks for the condition
"%rtmode-no_authchk = space"
before going for the authorization check.
Thus, ideally the authorization check for an InfoSet can be skipped if we can pass X for this variable from the InfoSet definition. Is there a way to do this?
Would appreciste any inputs to help suppress the authorization check at this point. Thanks.....

well for my part (searching a solution for a query on LTAK, wanting L_LGNUM as an object) i'm out of ideas. i shall have to modify SAP-standard and disable the class and do my own coding in the info-set. no other possibility - i cannot allow S_TABU_DIS for group LA and even if i did, what help would it be - i would have to allow that to all companies in that client having WM - and that would be literally all - i need LGNUM here!

Security confirmation error message when using app store

I just bought both of my kids ipads, when I try to purchase an app from the app store it provides me a security challenge asking me what the first car I owned was and what the first concert I attended was. I didn't remember the answers to these questions, so I logged into my account on the apple website from my pc and created new questions and new answers. However, whenever I try to download from the ipads now, it shows the same questions, even though I have changed my security questions in my preferences to questions other than those. Thus, I cannot purchase any apps for my kids. I've tried powering the ipads down, but that didn't help. I'm not sure what other troubleshooting to try.

Payload different in SXMB_MONI and Message Monitoring

Hi All,
I am facing a problem. My message Payload in SXMB_MONI (after mapping) is different from what i got from Message Monitoring tab of RWB. In the message monitoring some entries are missing from my actual payload.
Payload from SXMB_MONI contains 300 entries
payload from Message monitoring contains 250 entries.
I am not using any module processor. Any pointer on "Why message payload got changed in RWB. ??

Hi Nallam,
The structure is simple like 300 nodes for items after mapping and these are to be inserted in to SAP tables using RFC. But in the Adapter engine enteries found were 250.
The same message when sent again worked fine but we have to find the root cause of the error.

Secure payload in RWB

Hi All,
I am working on payload hiding in Message Monitoring. I followed the SAP Note:1370334. By using this process i am able to hide the payload in message monitoring. But i m unable to edit any objects in ID. I need to to edit the ID objects.Do i need to add any other role to the user to get the access to ID. Could you please let me know how to resolve this problem.
Lets say i have two users TEST1 and TEST2 and i assigned a new role to the TEST1 user. Test2 user also not able to see the payload in message monitoring. Plz let me know how to resolve this.
It would be a great help for me.

Hi Soumya,
The RWB related users also have one of the three security roles called Display, Modify, and Payload. You may remove the Payload related role and it won't be visible further. Check section 7 of the guide

Activating Message Overview Message Monitoring

Hello,
We recently moved our XI system (3.0) towards SP21. Now we want to activate new way of message monitoring using the message overview. As stated in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/80243b4a66ae0ce10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
note 1031773 describes how to activate the message status overview. However when i search for that note. The note is not (anymore) available.
An SAP note with the number requested could not be found.
Somebody a clue where the note has gone? Or can somebody tell me what are the steps to take to activate message-overview monitoring?

Hi,
It is better to raise a new OSS. Sometimes, with a new solution or incorrect solution , some of the OSS notes actually gets cleaned up or deleted.

Automating Communication channel and message monitoring

Hi,
Right now i am trying to automate communication channel monitoring and message monitoring for SAP PI. Kingly suggest me how can I go ahead and which language I can use(java or dot net) ?. I will be needing to generate a report for every half an hour about the status of the communication channel and for successfull and failed messages. Kindly assist on what criteria I can use.

As far as i know there is not easy way to acheive it by calling some webservice or chacking DB table. I developed some tool in .net by calling direct webpage using HTTPRequest class

SAP System inconsistency for Inbound delivery / MIGO and a "sap note"

Hello Friends ,
After following SAP instruction on how to remove the inconsistency between posting GR through MIGO (Inv. mang.) and the reflection of the goods movement status in the inbound delivery document - done that using sap note 570991
the problem is that the system start behaving in a weird way throwing unjustified Error messages for any suggested goods receipt using MIGO with reference to inbound
for example after creating an inbound delivery document and trying to post it via migo , an error will pop up
- Inbound delivery storage location cannot be changed to here Message no. VLA316
the thing is i didn't even maintain any storage location entry up to that point and yet i cannot post any stock !!
also another error like
- Inbound delivery batch cannot be changed to *** here
which doesn't make any sense because there is not batches in the inbound document !!
i think this behavior is coming from the "Document Flow Update for Stock Postings" inbound indicator at the shipping parameter at client level customization
i need help on how to overcome this annoying SAP Bug/Problem specially i am in a post go live critical situation

The messages you mentioned were introduced to avoid inconsistency between inbound delivery and IM, through the note: 1050944 - GR for inbound delivery using inventory mgmt as of ECC 6.00
If the messages are issued incorrectly, then you may check for SAP notes (I couldnt find anything relevant) or raise an OSS ticket to SAP.

XI Message Monitoring - Mapping custom fields for search in monitor?

Is it possible to map a reference field so that searching for a specific message is more user friendly?
For example, we produce hundreds of outbound SHPMNT04 messages each day. Would it be possible to map a field such as E1EDT20.TKNUM (Shipment Number) to a field in the monitor (SXMB_MONI) such as "Outbound Reference" so we can easily search on this field?
Currently we use a combination of WE09 and IDX5 to find a specific message. Obviously, this is cumbersome and time-consuming.

there are at least two ways
the first one is to use Trex search for xi + standard
the second one is described in this weblog + but remember that
without indexing this will take long to search like this

Unable to find messgaes in Message monitoring.

Dear All,
When trying to search messgaes in Message Monitoring using - Adapter Engine, I am able to find only todays messages and not previous days messages. Previously I am able to find past data using Free entry. But this problem is occuring from last 2 weeks.
Could you please suggest the possible ways to solve this issue...

this can be due to two things...
either no interfaces have been processed during that time or archiving jobs have been enabled for 1 day....
check in Moni if there are any archive jobs scheduled ..go to sxmb_adm and select define interfaces for archiving and deletion..and check the days specified over there also..addition to adapter engine archive jobs...

Help for not released SAP Note 1179482

Dear all,
I have some problems with transaction CLOCOC (Message TK430 - Cient & has statut 'not modifiable').
I found solution using SAP Note 1179482 but this SAP Note is not released and no more available.
We do not want to use tranport request for CLOCOC transaction.
Some still got this SAP Note or some information about the solution?

Message Monitoring - Search XML tags

Hi
Do you know if there are any search tools in XI v3 that enable the administrator to search messages that go through XI by the data within the tag name.
For example,in the message below I would want to search on the data held in the tag <Order> i.e. 1111.

1. standard: TREX - with TREX you can search very quickly and it's a standard feature (from SP15)
