Security archiving
We turned on security archving for adapter engine in our system... And we have configured messages with S/MIME security settings.
Files are getting generated in XI_SEC folder of the archive... We were unable to read this file from Unix level and not sure how to view/read from application layer.
Do we need additional configuring? We are not able to view the security archiving files and as per SAP documentation, we need to see security tab for Messages in adapter engine (which is also not visible). Any of you have implemented security archiving? How do we validate that security archiving is working as expected?
We can see some resources being archived (in the Archive monitoring), but not sure what messages are archived and what information is archived/stored in security archiving.
SAP is in the process of providing a OSS note to provide security archiving for SOAP S/MIME messages.

Hi,
Since PI 7.1 there is support for the storate of SMIME messages in
the 'Security Archive' ( accessible via RWB ).
We have been looking for more technical information regarding this
store as we have a couple of questions:
- could any SMIME message generated by any adapter be stored in there
or is it a specific behaviour of the SOAP Adapter (using some built-in
coding)
- is there any API available which could be used by custom adapters to
also store messages in there

Hello,
I've made a few searches on the forum but haven't found the answer yet ... so here it is: I have some files (.ppt, .jpeg, .mov, ...) I'd like to burn on a DVD as an archive but in a secure manner with encryption. Is it possible ? If yes, how ?

PS: I'm still waiting for Leopard Family edition !!You can password protect files by making an encrypted disk image using Disk Utility. I "believe" you can then burn this encrypted disk image to a DVD/CD to accomplish what you are looking for. After burning the disk, be sure to test it out.

PI: Sender Mail adapter: archive incoming email
Hi!
Our task is to archive the incoming email unchanged - in the file adapter I have the possibility to store the processed file on a different location. Do I have this possibility also with the mail adapter?
IMplementing a Module bean is not possible in our case as we use sMIMe security and the framwork does the signature checking before calling the adapter modules and also removes the certificate attachment from the incoming data.
Any help would be fine!
I have heard of "Security archiving" - can be found in the RWB when selecting the adapter engine - does anybody hav experience with this?

On the STATUS tab itself, you will a lot of other options, like - Repeat Ping, Repeat Self-Test, Communication Channel Monitoring and so on. At the same place, you will find option for Security Archiving. Once you click on that, a new window will pop-up. There you can configure your archiving options.

If you want to encrypt e-mails and give them a digital signature in the corresponding receiver agreement in the Integration Server then Security Parameters are used.
Persist Duration is used for security archiving.

RemoteOperationException: ERROR: Wrong password for userWhat is wrong ? We are sure of user/pwd given.
It is administrator/pwd of Windows.
Must we do something in Local security settings of windwos server ?

Have you gotten the error; "RemoteOperationException: ERROR: wrong password for user" with Oracle 10g? If so, it is probably because the OS user that you are trying to login to the Oracle Enterprise Manager with has not been setup to allow the user to logon as a "Batch Job." To resolve this issue:
Go to "Control Panel" -> "Admin Tools" -> "Local Security Policy."
Within "Local Policies", go to user "Right Assignment."
Add the user to "Logon as a Batch Job."
The logon problem should now be resolved. This is for trying to run Oracle 10g on Windows 2003 Server.

Hello All,
I have installed PI 7.1 on Solaris with Oracle DB...Installation went fine but i am unable to see the Adapters whicg are installed..i have imported the .TPZ file also..
When i got to Runtime Work Bench and click --> DOMAIN <SID>
--> Integration Server --> in thiese ther are four components in whcih Integration engine <SDID> and Business Process Engine <SID> are in YELLOW, Mapping Runtime <SID> and Adapter Engine <PID> are in Green...
Any reason for those yellow marks>???
when i click on Adapter Engine <SID> and in that except "Repeat Ping" and Repeat Self-Test everything (Security Archiving, Background Processing, Communication Channel Monitoring, JPR Monitoring, Engine Status and Message Prioratization) is showing me an Error:
"Error in compiling [/mdt/channelmonitorservlet] in application [sap.com/com.sap.xi.mdt2]" .. the application is the same for all the errors...i have followed correct post installation steps and have also checked NOTE on RUNTIME WORKBENCH but still i am facing the problem...
AS i am unable to see anything in Adapter Engine <SID>, how can i confirm what adapters are installed??

Click on the Component and you will get a log below showing why the status is a yellow triangle (component Status Containes Warning).....please note it is a warning and not an error.....even as of now my IE is showing a Yellow Triangle

Hello!
I'm using an Oberthur token for Digital Signature and my computer crashed after I have signed a document, but before I input de password for the token. Now the signature is not valid and I cannot erase it. The only options I have for that signature are: Validate Signature, View Signed Version, Show Signature Properties...
Can somebody please explain in detail to me how can I erase this signature tor esign the document? I'm using the latest Adobe reader version! Thank you!The point is that this is trivial to achieve for anyone, even if the file is locked after signing.
They just need to keep a copy of the unsigned file, delete the signed one, and replace it with the unsigned file. So such protection means nothing.
Repudiating signatures is a very bad thing, but it can only have real meaning if someone or some process knew about the signing. Otherwise, it's like someone signing a piece of paper, and destroying their signed copy without showing it to anyone; it's as if it never happened, and nothing was gained. If on the other hand a person has received the signed file, or a process has securely archived it, then removing a signature has no repudiating effect on the copy.
It can be hard to convert paper-based to electronic-based workflows where files can be freely duplicated, shared etc.
Clearly, though, if a person can sign a file, then others can act on that signature, and then the signer can still edit the original signed file, there is a big problem, not just of repudiation but of auditability. -
Hi Experts,
I have small doubt regarding SMTP Mail Adapter settings.
Right now i am sending files in attachment to the Users through SMTP.
But now User needs in MIME type for which i can see settings in Security Parameter.
I can see is S/MIME, when i flag that i can see Duration like Days, hours, minutes, seconds.
Could you please tell me what is the significance of it.

SAPEU component install fails - caf.eu.gp.model.eap

I am currently testing the instaltion NW7 SR3 SP14 for rollout and this error stops the process:
The install runs fine until it comes to step 34/ 44 (UT ep, epcore, WebAS), and then stops when it
tries to deploy a sub comonent of the SAPEU_14.SCA archive.
I've played around with the recommended VM memory settings with no result.
SAP has the following note that identifies this spesific error but with no solution:

With the SR2 install you could remove the component from the deploy list and deploy it after, but SR3 does not
deploy the same way.

Display the value of stocks per month
Dear all, A user asked me if it was possible to display the values of stocks or the quantity of stocks per month for the current year? I tried MB52, MMBE, MB53 but there is no field to select a period, MC.B, MC.9 but the results can not be displayed
