It's often only a problem of the service dependencies. SCVMM starts to fast, SQL server on the same machine in not initialized yet. Here are working service dependencies to ensure SQL server is initializes before SCVMM starts.
You can set the service dependencies directly in regedit (as always: be careful modifying the registry ...)
Here is the content of a reg file setting the dependency.

Hello,my windows Vista will not run anything, no antivirus', no system restore no administrative tools. I'm getting the message,"The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it."... No system recovery at boot-up, I press F11 at boot up and the only service that won't start at boot up is system recovery. On a Microsoft Web site I found the following information. It says it is for Win 7, but it might help you trouble shoot and maybe find out what is going on in your Windows Vista.

I am setting up SCVMM 2012 R2 in a production environment. Whenever I restart the SCVMM virtual machine the VMM service doesn't start automatically, I have to manually start it. I checked the VMM logs and in the event viewer i find the below error,

I added the 'VMMSVC' account as db_owner and sysadmin and also NT_Authority\System with same permissions still the service doesn't start on the start up.
I googled a lot and I find the threads with the error containing "General failure" but not with the above. Can someone please help me to find out why this error is occuring.

Cannot start VM - IDE Emulator Failed to Power on with Error 'The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.'

HI all.
New install of 2008R2 on HP DL-380 G6. I have created (several) VM's none of which will start. If I remove the IDE Hard Disk and add a DVD of the OS ISO, it will boot and start the install (although with no HDD).
It seems like the IDE controller is working ok - it is what the DVD drive is using, but it cannot mount a VHD. The error indicates a driver is not working (although the DVD on IDE works fine) so something to do with VHD? I can attach the VHD
in disk management, so it does not seem corrupt - again I have tried with both dynamic and fixed VHDs.
Full error is:

Did you try to disable the services , if they are exsit :
HP Smart Array SAS/SATAEvent notification
HP Insight storage agents
Then restart your server .

Server 2012 R2 - Complete WSUS Installation Issue - The service cannot be started...

Hi all,
installed SCCM 2012 R2 CAS on a 2012 server. The SQL is off box on a server cluster. I've installed WSUS through the 'Add Roles and Features'. I configured it to have local storage for the content and a remote DB instance (called SQL1 on our cluster). All this
worked well and the install completed as expected. I checked the SQL cluster and the "SUSDB" database was created ok.
As a final step, i went to Tools in Server Manager and launched Windows Server Update Services. This brought up the 'Complete WSUS Installation' dialogue box. I entered the exact same DB info as i had done when completing the initial install of WSUS:
Yet when i hit 'run' the following message returns:

Since i'm pretty sure i need WSUS working correctly to use it for SCCM, can anyone suggest what my problem is here? I'd assume it's falling down because the 'ConfigureWebsite' job can't start but what service does that need to run?

Did you install the Web Server role before installing the WSUS Server role? Is the Web Server role already installed? If so, is it installed and configured in a compatible manner with the WSUS role?

Is there a solution to years old error message "Cannot create a system restore point [service cannot be started in Safe Mode (0x8007043c)]" I have been trying to create a restore point or image on an external hard drice, but I get the quoted message
and the system is NOT in safe mode. I have reviewed all the previous suggestions on this forum to no avail. Are there any new suggestions. My computer had Windows 7 installed and I have no source to re-load the OS. Ralph

So actually you're not in safe mode (not black background, no "safe mode" on the left-bottom of the screen), right?
I think something is causing your PC thinking itself is in the safe mode, run sfc/scannow and chkdsk /f/r, check if the two tools can find any error.
Or perform a startup repair in recovery console, check the result

PCMCIA Wlan card is not detected: Error 1058: service cannot be started

PLEASE HELP!
I am running WXP Pro for over 2 years and I have been connecting to the internet via a wireless pc card in my laptops PCMCIA slot with no problems. Suddenly last week it started to randomly disconnect and reconnect, and now it has gone off completely.
I bought a new WiFi card and still didn't work. I have checked the device manager and the PCMCIA cardbus driver is working fine as is every other device. The wireless card driver and some other network related drivers fail to start no matter what I try and how many times I try. I have tried another laptop and both my old card and the new one work fine.
All the device driver that I try to start have the error
"Error 1058: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it."
The card driver is installed, just not starting, it's like the laptop cannot detect or see the card in the slot
Please help; I am having trouble finding anyone with the same problem after a week of searching the web.

This behavior can occur if the service is disabled or if the service is disabled for the hardware profile that you are currently using.
To enable the service do this:
1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Services.
2. Double-click the service that did not start.
3. Click the Log On tab.
4. Verify that the service has not been disabled for the hardware profile that you are using. If it has, click Enable.
5. Click the General tab. Verify that the service has not been disabled in the Startup Type box. If it has, click Automatic to have it start when you start the computer.

and ist is workign fine with netbeans. when we tried to deploy to tomcat
it is showing error as given below:

ADAM Service cannot be started on edge server - cannot uninstall the role and ...

Hi,
after a storage failure, some files seemed to be damaged on exchange 2010 edge server
it said it could not connect to DC and i realized that is because ADAM service stopped
I tried to start it but encountered a weird error (0xc000000) some thing like that
so i found that adamntds.dit is corrupted
I issued this :
C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\TransportRoles\data\Adam>eseutil /p adamntds.dit
it said integrity check ok but after that again ADAM does not start and says
this service started and the stopped ... (the famous message we all know)
1- now is there any way to fix it?
2- is it reasonable to use the other edge server database file on this one (we have two edge servers) or it is non-sense
3- according to this

I would like to verify if you have a backup of ADAM directory.
If yes, please put it on the server and try to start the ADAM service.
If no, I recommend you recover the ADAM directory as the following steps:
1. Use esentutl /g.
2. If Integrity check is successful, use this cmdlet: esentutl /d.
3. Use esentutl /r edb.
4. If above steps fail, use esentutl /p adamntds.dit. Then delete all files in the directory except for the adamntds.dit. (Note: Before you delete the files, please take a backup for them.)
5. Try starting ADAM service.

Oracle 11g XE: Some services cannot be started

Hello,
I installed Oracle 11g XE on Windows 7 Home Premium.
In Windows Task Manager --> Services, There are the following services:
    OracleJobSchedulerXE (Stopped)
    OracleMTSRecoveryService (Stopped)
    OracleSeviceXE (Running)
    OracleXEClrAgent (Stopped)
    OracleXETNSListener (Running)
The status of three of them are stopped. I tried to start them from Windows Task Manager, I got message: The operation could not be completed, Access denied. Could someone tell me why they cannot started? What these services used for?

You should be able able to access the database if OracleSeviceXE is running. If you can't access the database check the alret_XE.log and post last few lines from the file.

Cannot Start Security Center

When I try to start my Security Center service, it says that it is unable to.
When I search in "Services" Security Center is not found in the listings.

In most case the issue is caused by the infection of virus.
So just like britishdhez said scan your computer.
But before reformating your PC, we can firstly try the methods below.
Try importing the wscsv registry a healthy machine.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\wscsvc].
Before importing it, please back up the registry key first. Just find the key and right click it, choose export and save to desktop.
After importing the correct registry, please follow instructions in the KB provide by
britishdhez and start the security service.

OracleDBConsole service cannot start

Hi all,
I installed Oracle 11g software on a Windows XP SP2 machine with 1 GB RAM.
I then used DBCA to create a db and in the end of the db creation the following error raised:

After many attempts to use emca to create the EM repository, I noticed the problem is in starting the OracleDBConsole service. This service cannot be started by Windows. When I refer to the Even Log, I see the following error: "Process exited abnormally during initialization."

One thing to check is whether you have got 2 listeners. The first listener would be created successfully, but the second will fail because Oracle will try to allocate the same port it gave to the first listener to the second listener.

NB200 - action centre cannot be started

for the last weeks i have not be able to open action centre on my laptop, i get a message that action centre cannot be started.

Are you running some security software that block the start of action center? Just try to disable the security software and try it again.
Furthermore check if security center service is running. You can check this in Windows Services (Start > services.msc).

Windows Security Center will not turn on and seems to be missing.

My brother in law's laptop had some malware which I have gotten rid of. After I cleaned it up I went to start his Security Center since the Action Center (windows 7) said that Windows Security Center Service is turned off. When I click "turn on now" it
says it cannot be started. I tried doing it manually by going into services and clicking on Security Center, but it isn't there. My laptop is also Win7 and I confirmed that it is normally there but on his it is missing. Is there a way to install it or fix
