Security Compliance Manager - version 3.0.60

Does anyone know if this version of Security Compliance Manager supports Windows Server 2012 R2:
3.0.60

Hi sayerdi,
As this question is related to Security Compliance Manager (SCM), for quick and accurate response, I would like to recommend that you ask the question in the SCM forum at
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=compliancemanagement . It is appropriate and more experts will assist you.
Additionally, there is a similar thread about SCM for Windows Server 2012 R2 for your reference.

  • Applying recommend settings from "microsoft security compliance manager 3.0.60.0" to a standalone Server using LocalGPO.wsf on Server 2012 R2

    Hello
Can someone please help me with the following question.
I have a standalone Server and need to apply settings from SCM, I can see how to do this following the instructions in the following article
    http://windowsitpro.com/security/q-how-can-i-apply-security-baseline-i-defined-through-microsoft-security-compliance-manager
The problem is  the LocalGPO.wsf that ships with the above version of SCM does not run on Server 2012 R2 (only Server 2012)
    my question is,
is there a later version of LocalGPO.wsf I can use that works on Server 2012 R2 ?
    Thanks

  • Upgrading from SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition [ENU] to SQL Server 2008 Express Edition OR HIGHER for Microsoft Security Compliance Manager

I have downloaded the MS Security Compliance Manager, which is in two parts:  MS SQL Server 2008 Express Edition & the SCM. The install instructions state the the server needs to be install before the SCM.  So as the install continues I get
an error message, which cancels the installation.  So, I am trying to install SQL 2008 EE separate from SCM.  My question is:
Can I upgrade from my current SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition [ENU]
directly to SQL Server 2008 Express Edition (or higher)?

So as the install continues I get an error message, which cancels the installation.
And which error message did you got?
SQL Server Compact Edition is something different then SQL Server Express (or Standard) Edition, you can't upgrade it as you asked for,.

  • Microsoft Security Compliance Manager V3 and create GPO

I have created a GPO backup from the compliance manager for Windows 7 SP1. I am trying to find documentation for the exact process of importing these settings into a newly created "blank" gpo. In review of the Backup.xml file, I can see that
it references Contoso.com (the generic MS domain for examples, etc). Is there a clear documented process for configuring the template then creating a domain GPO? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hey everyone, can someone point me in the right direction here.  I am running the GPOMSI.MSI app in the SCM 3.0   When I try to do an export of Local Group Policies I get an error message stating its not compatible.  I have searched for an
update, but cant find it anywhere.
    Thanks

    Hi,
According to the screenshot, it seems like compatibility problem, What's the type of your system?
In addition, you can refer to the link below to view its compatibility list.

  • Policies missing in SCM Windows 8.1 Security Compliance Baseline v1.0

    Hello,
I have installed SCM 3.0.60 (downloaded from this link:
Microsoft Security Compliance Manager) on a Windows 8.1 Virtual Machine. Because I could not connect my VM to internet at the moment, I imported the Windows 8.1 Security Compliance Baseline (downloaded from this link
SCM Baselines for Windows 8.1, IE 11 and Server 2012 R2 are now live!) and the baseline attachment in SCM. The import process ran well and I then created a custom baseline based on the Win8.1 Computer Security Compliance 1.0 baseline (using the Duplicate
action in SCM). During my customization I have noticed that some policies were missing from my custom baseline. After verifying the original baseline I have noticed that the policies were missing in it also. I connected my VM to the internet and clicked on
the Download Microsoft baselines automatically action in SCM. SCM downloaded additional baselines (Office 2013, SQL Server 2012,...). I was expecting the Win8.1 baseline to be updated but it was not. The policies are still missing and I cannot complete my
customization. For information the missing policies that I've noticed are the following:
    Under Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\File Explorer
All policies are missing except "Configure Windows SmartScreen" and "Turn off Data Execution Prevention for Explorer"
    Under Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Sync
your settings theses polices are missing:
     --> Do not sync
--> Do not sync app settings
--> Do not sync browser settings
--> Do not sync desktop personalization
--> Do not sync on metered connections
--> Do not sync other Windows Settings
     --> Do not sync passwords
     --> Do not sync personalize
Under Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\KDC these policies are missing
--> KDC support for claims, compound authentication and Kerberos armoring
     --> User forest search order
--> Warning for large Kerberos tickets
--> Provide information about previous logons to client computer
It seems that theses policies are not present in the Package.XML file that is included in the Windows-8.1-Security-Compliance-Baseline.cab.
Does anyone ever experience the same issue?
Anyone know if there is an updated version of the Windows 8.1 Security Compliance Baseline ? (the version downloaded from the link i supplied above is v1.0)
    Regards,
    François

    Hi,
in this blog, it is just related to Internet Explorer, not the lock screen camera, it can be found at the GPO.

  • Installing Security and Compliance Manager on Windows 8.1

    Hi
I am trying to install Security and Compliance Manager on my Windows 8.1 workstation.  The install is trying to install SQL Express 2008 which seems to not be compatible with Windows 8.1 and that is were the install ends.
I tried installing SQL Express 2012 and then running the install but it looks like the database is not installed.
Is there a new version of Security and Compliance Manager that addresses this or does anyone know how to set up SQL to accept Compliance Manager?

Open Regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
Delete this key under Session Manager "PendingFileRenameOperations". Restart the installation and it will work fine.

  • Juniper Java Secure Application Manager does not work with Snow Leopard

Anyone else having issues as well? I'm not using a client - its basically the Java based application manager for VPN connections to work (so I can remote desktop to my work PC).
Once logged in, it gives a "Restart your browser" error.
    Thanks for your help

OK - so I got it to work. Here's what I did. Let me know if it works for you:
I wasn't able to follow the instructions exactly as noted in the original link I posted above.
The terminal command, specifically wget would not work - there is no wget.
I manually downloaded the Java 1.5 version, by following the link (just clicked on it). I 'unzipped' it and moved it into the library/frameworks/JavaVM.framework/versions folder.
So now the 1.5.0 is not an alias (as it is by default in SL), but the older version of Java.
I then followed the instruction related to changing the order in JAVA PREFERENCES.
The final stop - and I think this is key, is that I forced Safari to start in 32 bit mode. You can do this by going to Applications, highlighting Safari and hitting CMD-I. Then check the 32 bit option.
Start Safari, go to the appropriate URL and login. The Java Secure Application Manager should then start as it used to do in Leopard. You should be all set.
Hope this helps - let me know if someone has questions.

I'm working on the Cisco Works Network Compliance Manager.
I would like to add a device which is behind a firewall.
For this I use the option bastion host to authen. on the firewall and
to get access to the device self.
The problem is the firewall is not listing  to the port 22/23, it a different port number

Is it possible to change the port  manually in a configfile, as the webinterface has no option for this  ?
I use the version 1.7.1 the latest one.

Both Prime and LMS can do baseline compliance, after a fashion. LMS's is much more mature in my estimation. Prime is more around the lines of deploying templates.
The regulatory compliance functions as of now are in only LMS's Compliance and Audit Manager (CAAM) function. It's quite useful, matching the baseline compliance features.
An LMS license is included with PI, but it does need to be on its own server (or separate VM).

Sorry you are having problems. First of all try Fifrefox's safemode.
*[[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]]
If that works post back for further advice.
Next step, if safe mode did not work.
<u>First: Try a clean install, (you have had a none standard version installed previously)</u><br /> that involves deleting the program files. Then if necessary try troubleshooting by creating and using a clean empty Firefox profile.
    See
    * this recent post [/questions/940399#answer-377134]

    <u>Second: try a New Profile</u>
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager#Creating_a_new_profile
    * this will be an additional profile, it is still worth backing up any existing or currently working profile on a regular basis
**[[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]]
    * Until you are absolutely confident about the repercussions I suggest
** always use an empty folder when creating a new profile
** never delete or rename profiles, just disable or remove shortcuts
** after creating a new test profile open it and check for any addons or plugins that may be have been included by default

  • Juniper Secure App Manager doesn't launch

Does anyone know if JSAM still requires Java 5.0 and Safari 4.0.3?
I had been looking at the below thread, as Juniper's plugin won't load for me (running Java 6 and 4.0.4, tried running in 32-bit), still saying "secure app manager could not launch"
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2155339&tstart=117

The Juniper SAM still requires Java 5.0 for me. I upgraded Java last week, and JSAM failed, so I went back to using the old version of Java and it works fine again.

  • Secure Download Manager

    Hello,
i'm student and have permission to MSDN AA.
When i use SDM (Secure Download Manager) i have problem with my computer. For example "Start download" and than finishing 70-80% of download my computer hover and influence memory to 3.99 GB / 4.0GB and some time i can't work with my computer.
It's disturb my, why it's to slow my computer and increase memory......

    Hi all,
I've found a possible solution for extremely slow download speeds.
A possible cause under Windows Vista, 7, 8 is TCP/IP version 6 and/or QoS enabled in your network adapter.
If you encounter a slow download, e.g. 10% of what you expected, then try the following:
First of all, closing opened applications is recommended.
Open Network Properties (Start > Network > Rightclick > Properties)
Open "Adapter Settings" at the left side of the dialog
Locate the adapter that you are currently connected with your Internet. In most cases this is the "Local Area Network" or "Wireless Network"
Rightclick > Properties on the adapter
Disable the checkboxes in the dialog for "QoS" and "Internet Protocol Version 6"
    Apply dialog with OK
Rightclick > Properties on the adapter, then "Disable" (you will loose internet connection)
Rightclick > Properties on the adapter, then "Enable" (you will soon be reconnected)
I don't use an english version, so some names may vary.
You can easily undo the steps again, just enable the checkboxes again.
    Effects:
Before the increase, my Windows 7 setup (3 GB) download didn't finish within 15 hours.
After the increase it finished 7% of the whole download within few minutes.
    Side effects:
Disabling TCP/IP version 6 will probably have no effect on > 95% of all computers.
Disabling QoS (quallity of service) may have effect on some computers (approx 10%) causing worse performance duriing realtime conversations such as Skype, video conferences etc.
I am a little bit of disappointed from Microsoft in using that Secure Download Manager. This is not the quality and experience that I know and expect from Microsoft for so many years. Nevertheless, special thanks
to Microsoft for the great products.
    Best regards, Kadir

Setting up file shares on a Mini Server with 10.8 server.
How can a group of users share access to a volume, while managing versions of a file (other than saving with a new file name) and preventing two users editing a file simultaneously and overwriting each other's work?

Bridge determine if an image has cache by scanning local database in the local user data folder.
You can try enabling export local cache. This might also meet your request.
    1) Open Edit > Preference dialog.
    2) Select Cache section.
    3) Check Automatically Export Cache To Folders When Possible.
This will export cache to the folder where the images stay in. And Bridge will automatically import this cache to central cache when a new user access to this folder.
