Security Deposit Check

I activated my service in Feb 2013, and had to pay security deposit of $400, since I'm a student. And since I'm a student, my dad is paying bills for me. After 1 year, just today, I received a check from Verizon that said "security deposit refund." The problem is that the check is in my dad's name, and it is void 6 months later. My dad is abroad and is going to visit me at September. I can't do anything with this check. Is there any way of getting refund in other method?

Nope. Take it to your dad's bank. They shouldn't have an issue with you depositing a check with his name on it in his account. Then call your dad and have him send you the money.

    I recently received my refund check for being with Verizon for a year, but the check is $163.87 lower than I was expecting. Why is there such a huge discrepancy between what Verizon took as a security deposit, and what I've received back? There is no explanation of this anywhere. I double checked my original paperwork and can't see anything relating to the withholding of partial deposit.

    Was your bill due? I believe it should pay that months bill.
    It could also believe what you thought was a deposit was also a device purchase included.

    My scenario is to create a downpayment request, make a payment and it should get cleared with the actual receivables.I created a Down payment request through Manual posting.Did the payment for the same. But during my final bill it doesnt get cleared with my actual receivables. I have done the required configuration for Down payments in posting area 1010 with 3000/0010 alongwith clearing restriction '5' and also maiantained them in SAP Utilities -> Invoice Processing -> Item Selection in Account Maintainence as well as Bill printout but unable to acheive the same.
    Moreover, I checked my Security deposit also. It is getting cleared but still remaining as a down payment item. Event R401 is also active.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Also check the Clearing configuring for invoicing has the Account Maintenance Clearing Variant defined:
    Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable ->Basic Functions ->Open Item Management.->Clearing Control->Define Specifications for Clearing Types->Define Specifications for IS-U Invoicing
    Ensure that the Final Billing Clearing Types R42 and R43 are assigned the Account Maintenance Clearing Variant.
    In addtion, extend the Interval Days in Item Selection in Invoicing to be 999 days. While Due dates should not matter for credits, some functionality respects the due date.
    If all this fails, make sure your Event R401 is not bypassing any standard logic that is contained with the IS-U standard Event ISU_EVENT_R401.
    Also, make sure that your account is not a multi-contract account. There are dependencies during Move-out/Final bill for Security Deposits the Release can occur only if all contracts are moved out.

  • Security deposit issue: customer service saying it is never possible to get it back

    To anyone who might be able to straighten things out here,
    first of all, I am not asking for a security deposit back right away. I was just asking for a possibility of getting my security deposit back and on which condition I can get it back. However, when I called up (800)-922-0204 and spoke with counselor after waiting half-an-hour, she told me I am unable to get security deposit back at all since it is non-refundable to anyone. I questioned her why is it called a deposit in such case, and she kept on insisting that security deposit is something I pay in the beginning to open up an account and it cannot be returned at all. I was puzzled since the guy at the retailer shop and he told me I can probably get the deposit back at some time later and check the estimated date to get the deposit back if I called the number specified above and talked to a counselor.
         So I checked up the answers posted up in this forum and figured out that indeed security deposit is returned after certain criteria is met. I was really irritated and upset, but that's something I have to deal with, so I'll pass on that. Following are my conditions on Verizon account and I hope someone can tell me when I can possibly get the deposit back and/or where I can get such info.:
               I first opened up my account in Verizon 4 years ago with $400 deposit (Aug. 2014). Then, as a Korean male, I had to go back to my country to serve      in military service that I had my account suspended for about 3 consecutive years. (Thanks to the Verizon retailer who helped me out at Oakdale Mall.)      The first condition to get the security deposit back was "to have 12 consecutive monthly bills paid without delay (No suspensions while doing so)" and I      know it was not done since I suspended my account at around 10th month (June 5th, 2011). I re-activated my account with a different phone and a plan      on Aug. 30th, 2014 and the guy at the Verizon service center in Vestal, NY told me to check when I can possibly get my security deposit back.
    Sorry to leave such a long message here but I guess I am not good at summarizing things here. Please take the pain and help this poor kid out.

    First of all, I assume you have a misprint and you opened your account ~4 years ago in August of 2010, not 2014(1 month ago).
    Next, it appears you had your account suspended for 3 years after completing only 10 months of service and have recently re-activated the account.
    If the above information is correct in your case, I would assume you will get your deposit back 12 months after reactivating your account without any further suspensions and/or late payments. So I would guess you will be eligible to get your deposit back in August, 2015.

  • Security Deposit Amount from customer should not be deducted

    Hi,
    client requirement is Security deposit from Dealer(Customer) should not show the balance of amount of Invoice of the Dealer, It should be shown seperately and not show the balance after deducting Security deposit. This security deposit is returnable to Dealer.
    So, all the invoice raised to customer and credit memo should be shown different amount without deducting from Secutiy deposits.
    For example If Rs. 1lakhs is security deposit
    there r 3 invoice of debit against Customer say 60000. In customer line item it should not show the balance of Rs40000. It should show only 3invoice amount of Rs.60000 and it should show seperately Rs.1lakhs.
    IS Thereany configuration of this scenerio.

    This is what expected to do.
    That is the reason SAP has provided with two check boxes in FBL5N.
    If you select only normal items you will be shown INR +60000
    If you select both normal items and special GL items, you will be shown INR 40000- (-10000+60000)
    If you select special GL items it will be shown -100000
    There is nothing special you are required to do.

  • Security Deposit Payment and Clearing!

    Hi Experts,
    We have an requirement when the cash security deposit is processed/released in SAP ISU it should hit the liability ledger account and not the bank clearing account.
    As per SAP standard functionlity when the cash security deposit request is initially posted it will have only A/R account associated with it as it is a statistical item with the main and sub of 0020/0020 and when the actual payment is received we post as an cash security deposit payment with the main/sub as 0020/0010 through assignment in the posting area 1010.
    We have maintained the 0020/0010 in EK02 with the liability account assocaited with it.
    Though it reads as cash security deposit payment as it is still posted through the payment lots it hits the bank clearing account associated with the payment lot and not the ledger account associated with the main and sub of 0020/0010. I checked the posting area 1010 and it didnt allow the G/L account to be specified during down payment clearing.
    I am not sure if there is a way to handle this but our requirement is to capture this cash security deposit payment in different liability ledger account and not the Bank clearing/Cash in transit account.
    Any thoughts on how to go about it and fix this issue will be highly appreciated.

    Hi - I recommend you document the expected postings, because when the security deposit is made, you are debiting cash, right?
    Here would be the expected postings as an accountant when the security deposit is made:
    Debit Cash
      Credit Liability
    When security deposit is released, then the following should occur:
    Debit Liability
    Credit cash
    So to me the assumption that it shouldn't post to the bank clearing account is incorrect; it should as cash transactions are occurring, right?  I recommend documenting the requirements with the accountant.

    I am trying to post a cash security deposit from transaction FPSEC1 and getting the error "Document header does not have a reconciliation key".But I don't see any reconciliation key field in the screen.
    Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem.

    Financial accounting -> Contract accounts receivables and payable -> Basic functions -> Posting and documents -> Document -> Define default values -> Maintain Reconciliation Groups for Default Values
    check weather the origin 13 - cash security deposit included or not.
    Financial accounting -> Contract accounts receivables and payable -> Basic functions -> Posting and documents -> Document -> Define default values ->Origin Keys with User-Dependent Default Values

    Hi, I got a paper document called "security deposit refund"
    and I guess, I'm getting back the amount of $411.51 for having paid on time the whole year.
    What do I do with this? Do I go to the bank and get the money or go to Verizon Wireless store?

    Is it a check? if it is then I assume you can take it to a bank. If not you can't.

    I've been in contract with verizon about a year or so.
    I'm wondering how am I going to get security deposit and what kind of form does it come through. Does it come through mail?
    Is that the only way to get it? If mail was returned because I was out of country, am I losing the deposit?
    I hope they can tell me when can I get the deposit back:(

    You should get it in the form of a check. Also you only get it back after a year if you've paid your bill in full and on time every month. If not it'll be another 3 months

    HOW DO I CHECK TO SEE IF I HAVE RECEIVED MY SECURITY DEPOSIT.

  • Security Deposit Clearing

    Hi Experts,
    In our project we have the requirement that Security Deposit will be posted at contract account level , but payments may come with reference to Contract and even then the payment should clear the SD on priority basis.
    In standard I have checked that if payment is posted with reference to contract then SD is not getting cleared as it is posted at contract account level.
    Can you pls advise whether this is possible through standard config or enhancement is required for this.

    I dont think your requirement is possible by standard configuration settings.
    However, going thru your post, wht I could gather is that any payment coming will clear the SD line item first.
    So in that scenario, make a seperate clearing variant for SD, you can use the main tr for grp characteristic.
    Now in the grp rule, plug in a custom FM using clearing rule 8,
    In the custom FM, write the logic that, if any payment is coming against the contract and an open SD line item exist at the CA level, then retrieve the contract account for the same and clear the debt at the contract account level.

  • Security Deposit - Horrible Costumer service

    Let me tell about my horrible story in with verizon Service.
    I have taken verizon triple play two year plan and cancelled my service within 1 month of satisfaction period and it has been two months and i have not recieved my security deposit i have paid.  i have been contacting the costumer service departments and been transferred one to other departments from months on and nothing has happend. 
    Did anyone faced the similar issues?

    I apologize for the lateness of this reply; we have been extremely backlogged through the holidays and are trying to get caught up.  I can certainly understand your frustration at being on hold with our Destin, FL store for so long, only to be hung up on.  Once is bad enough, but for it to happen a second time would certainly have my blood boiling.
    While the stores can definitely be extremely busy at times, we do expect our stores to make every effort to answer their phones in a timely manner.  I sincerely apologize that this was not your experience and I will be providing this feedback to the stores upper management for their review.
    If I may make a suggestion for the future, you do also have the option to check BestBuy.com for product availability at a specific store and may even be able to place an order for in-store pickup to ensure that you have it ready to go for you when you get to the store.  This may help you avoid some of this potential frustration with any future items you wish to check the availability on in our stores.

  • Security Deposit - Refund time changed?

    Good afternoon,
    I just got off the phone with a Verizon representative and I was told my security deposit will not be refunded until next year in January? This is unacceptable, and I want to know who I can call or speak with to get this settled. When I took this plan from my moms account to take the bill off her hands in January of 2014 the woman I spoke with told me I had to pay a $400 non-negotiable security deposit, even though I have been with Verizon Wireless on this very same phone number since I was in 6th grade, mind you I'm now 21. She told me this would be refunded as long as I stay true to my bill and pay my bill on time for the next 6 months, that it would be refunded to me in 6 months. Being that I'm 21 $400 is a serious amount of cash for someone barely getting by and just moving out, and I did this all because I wanted to help my mom out and take the bill under my own name. I want my refund back, this is month is supposed to be the 6th month deadline for when my deposit is refunded. If you have phone logs you can check I welcome you to do so, as you WILL find out I was told that I was getting my deposit back in 6th months. This is completely unacceptable and I feel like I've been lied to. I was banking on this deposit coming back so that I could purchase a vehicle to get back and forth to work, and now that is apparently out the window? Who do I need to speak to so we can resolve this issue. Who do I call? Contact? The billing line straight up told me it won't be available until January of 2015, that is well beyond 6 months.

    YES! It is CERTAINLY NOT OK for us to be told anything except for the CORRECT INFORMATION!
    I guess you guys should revisit your spiel when new accounts are being opened.
    Like Kenneth, I was also told that I will get my security deposit after 6months, but when I read the T&C, I saw that it will be refunded after one year. I wish I recorded my conversation with your agent when I was opening my account back then. It will be a good case. Anyway, rules are rules and we have to follow what it is written on the T&C.
    I hope Verzion will look into it and look into the spiel that your agents are using.

    I am creating a request for security deposit by transaction FPSEC1. In that I have maintianed interest key as "03-Exemption of Interest on Security deposit"
    A statistical entry is getting posted in business partners account.
    After that I am creating a check lot and posting payment against the above security depost request.
    In the payment document generated by check lot the interest key is getting changed to "04-Interest on Security Deposit".
    Please help me why the interest key entered in security deposit is not transferred to payment document. Any how this interest key is automatically determined in payment document.

    Perhaps you should check your customizing for main/sub of 0020/0010 in table TE305.  That is the new item generated by the payment receipt.
