Is it working now?
If it affects more than one phone, there may be an outage in your area.

You may not like the answers your getting but they are correct. This is a user-to-user technical support forum. You're not addressing Apple here. All anyone here can tell you is what is possible. What you want to do is not possible. Apple has not made any official statement about why they do not allow this. Speculation about Apple policies and decisions is a violation of the terms of use to which you agreed when you signed up for this forum.

  • Security flaw with E1200 router (and surely more)

After tinkering around with my E1200, I have found that if someone was to crack an access point's pre-shared key, such as mine, they would also have the ability to crack the routers webpage as well. By downloading the Linksys Connect application, entering the SSID and PSK, you have complete controll over the entire network.
I am not sure if this is what is supposed to be intended, but I can see it going a lot of bad ways if someone was to brick a businesses AP at the press of a button.
    Spoiler (Highlight to read)

I agree that it is possible. You can change the router administrator password manually on the router UI. When I did that before, it caused the Cisco Connect to fail, which I believe the reason is because the settings are no longer the same in the UI and in the Cisco Connect. I found out that you can go customize the router password on the router's interface. Then, go to Administration tab and customize the router password. Save it and the admin password should be overridden.

  • Adobe Read X1 security flaws

In a recent issue of Computer Active, I noticed that you had released a patch for eight security flaws discovered in Adobe Reader.  I tried to apply this fix via Computer Active's suggested link, but could not.  I have checked Adobe Reader X1 on my computer but the help just says there are no updates.  Could you please advise me where to find the fix in order that I may ensure my system is not at risk.
    Thanks.

  • I switched from an iPhone to a Droid and can't receive texts from iPhones now, help?

I switched from my iPhone 4s to a Droid and I do not have that phone anymore. I can not recieve texts from anyone with an iPhone and can not get in contact with my girlfriend or siblings now. I think their phones are trying to send their texts as iMessages to my phone that does not recieve iMessages. How can I just delete my Apple account and recieve texts again?

Sounds like you didn't turn of iMessage on your iPhone before making the switch.  If you registered your iPhone with Apple using a support profile, try going to https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do and unregistering it.  Also, try changing the password associated with the Apple ID that you were using for iMessage.

  • How to track calendars with multiple devices apple and droid

I have a iPhone 5 and iPad but would like to find a way to communicate my calendar with others using apple and droid products. How would I do that?

Sync your calendar with iCloud, then share it publically as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a9479.  This allows non-iCloud users to view the calendar (but not edit it).

  • I dropped my Iphone 5 which resulted in it shattering and the screen was still on but it was black with only a white line through it so I couldnt access the phone however I switched over to my Droid and now I cannot send or receive messages?

I dropped my Iphone 5 which resulted in it shattering and the screen was still on but it was black with only a white line through it so I couldnt access the phone however I switched over to my Droid and now I cannot send or receive messages and I cant turn off imessage because I cant see anything on the screen.  Help?

Then the bottom of the support document states that if you do not have access to the device (which unfortunately because of the screen issue you do not) to contact Apple Care. That is what you need to do.

I don't know how the Longevity is in these Sim Trays as they double as a Volume Rocker so having one or Two on hand would be a nice thing when & if the one in the Device goes bad..  I found this company that's carrying the replacement so if you need one I'd say give them a Call or Call Motorola and one can be sent if in stock to you Quickly with a small fee for S & H
Here is the Company that Handles them.. there may be more that has them but I found this one Enjoy b33

  • My MacBookPro uses OS X 10.6.8 - do I need to upgrade to avoid the recent security flaw, and if so, must I upgrade to OS X Mavericks?

I use OS X 10.6.8 on my MacBook Pro - do I need to upgrade to avoid the recent SST security flaw?  And if so, do I need to upgrade to OS X Mavericks in order to get the recent Version 10.9.2 fix?

There's an article here that addresses that question. You don't need to be running Mavericks for a security update, but you need at least Lion according to this:
    http://www.macrumors.com
    It's the second article.

  • Problems with AOL e-mail and Droid Charge

Problems with AOL e-mail and Droid Charge
After setting up my AOL email account on my Charge, it has been syncing new messages ok, but I've been having other problems:
    - Syncing AOL mail: I have the Charge set to sync 50 emails (set up the same way as my Comcast Account) but the AOL account pulls up the last 50 old emails and delivers them to the phone. (Comcast does not do this). If I delete these old messages, it just pulls up the same amount of even older mail. Very frustrating. Because of the 2nd problem below, some of these messages were actually deleted on my AOL account before I realized what was happening. It seems I have to just keep 50 old mails on my Charge to prevent this from happening. Any ideas?
    - Second problem (kinda related) Deleting Old Mail: When I delete AOL emails I have read on the Charge, they are also deleted from my 'old mail' folder on AOL and sent to deleted mail. This is not how it worked on my BB Storm2. After deleting them with the Storm, the AOL mail would show them as read and put them in 'old mail' unless I told the Storm to delete them from the server. I cannot find any "choice" option on the Charge. I hate this because the "deleted mail" folder on AOL dumps its contents much more quickly than the "old mail" folder. How do I stop this from happening?
FYI, both Comcast and g-mail are working as they should.....
    Thanks,

    Dear Richs10,
As to the second problem, I have seen this before in other threads. The only solution I can come up with is to delete the AOL account and set it up on the phone from scratch. The reason for this is that the ONLY time you are able to see the option for leaving email on the server (or removing them) after reading on the phone is during the account setup process. After the account is set up, there seems to be no way to access this setting again. Kind of dumb, IMHO, but that seems to be the case.
If you need step-by-step walkthrough of the account setup, PM me.

  • How do I delete my email address that is paired with my Droid and replace it with another email address?   thanks!

How do I delete the email address that Veriozon Wireless rep paired with my Droid and replace it with a different address?

The easiest way would be to go to menu>settings>accounts & sync, select the account (I'm assuming you're referring to your gmail account, so select google), then press the remove account button at the bottom.  You may lose all your contacts and other data associated with your google account, possibly even your apps, so be aware of this beforehand.  You can then add the new account from the accounts & sync menu.
If you are willing to completely start over with your phone, another alternative would be to factory reset it (menu>settings>privacy>factory data reset).  This will return your phone to an out-of-the-box condition, and you can use a different gmail address if you like.

  • What's the difference between "Droid" and "Android"?

The Droid Charge commercial claims that this is VZW's first Droid that does 4G.  but the Thunderbolt runs the same exact OS, and did 4G first.  What makes it a "Droid"?  The obnoxious bootup sound (which I have disabled, BTW )?  I can't think of anything else.  Is Samsung TouchWiz "Droid", while HTC Sense is Non Droid?  If it is just a marketing gimmick, then at least be consistent, VZW.

    DbG2514 wrote:
The commercial is more meaning it is the first Samsung Droid that does 4G on the verizon network. Like the Thunderbolt was the first HTC Droid to run on the 4G network. Motorola will have their first phone and LG has the Revolution.
    If that makes sense lol
All phones running Google's OS are Android, only a select few for Verizon are Droid-branded.  Droid is nothing more than a marketing term that Verizon uses for specific phones (Droid 1/2/3, Droid X/X2, Droid Pro, Droid Incredible, Droid Charge).  You get the Droid Eye boot animation, droid sounds and the hope that you'll actually get updates with it being a Samsung.   The Charge is the first "DROID" to run on Verizon's LTE network while the Thunderbolt was the first phone period.  It's been said that the Charge wasn't initially going to be a Droid but it was renamed so they'd have a "Droid" LTE phone since the initial LTE Droid phone (Bionic) was delayed due to redesign.

  • Security Flaw on iPhone???

    Critical iPhone security flaw found
Fortify Software, a security firm, has uncovered a critical security flaw in the Apple iPhone which could lead to phishing attacks.
Because the iPhone only displays the first few characters of a URL in its Safari web browser, phishers could easily hide a fraudulent URL at the end of a link without the user even knowing it.
Even worse, the iPhone connects the browser and the phone in such a way that it may be possible to embed scam telephone numbers into a site to make the phone automatically dial the scam number.
Let’s hope Apple is working on a fix for this one because that is some scary stuff. Now, if you input addresses yourself and use bookmarks, the chances of being affected by this are relatively minimal. That said, watch out for strange emails and Google results — you can’t always trust that either.
Anybody read this? Any comments or thoughts??? Valid?

It's hardly a new flaw since disguising URLs in links has been common practice for some time. However, while the browser does indeed only show a limited number of characters from the URL being opened (more if in landscape mode than portrait) to get to the URL at all the user would either have to enter it manually, or encounter it in an email or web page where the full URL should readily be discovered.
It seems probable to me that over time, security holes will be found as in all accessible and discoverable devices on the internet. Based on experience with Apple and MacOS, I would have confidence that genuine weaknesses found in the iPhone will benefit from security fixes as expeditiously as possible.
