Security info propagation across weblogic servers
Hi,
I have a requirement wherein my biz layer needs info abt logged in user profile. the web layer authenticates user using weblogic internal ldap and calls session bean of biz layer. In the biz layer i m able to retrieve the loggedin userid using sessionContext.getCallerPrincipal(). But i do need more info like user_preferences,emp_id as well. Is there a way of setting these attributes in Context obj which gets propagated across weblogic servers transparently. Otherwise i need to modify all my session bean api to accept userPreferencesDTO as additional parameter.
Please advise,

You do not have to do anything to propagate identity between the two
containers. As long as the user is authenticating first..
There have been a number of issues with the propagation, so be sure to stay up
on the service packs.

I just read your article about "javax.transaction.HeuristicMixedException"
problem on WDJ.
In the article, you said this case applies to WLS 6.1.
I'd like to know does this applies to WLS 7.0?
If not, what is the mechanism in WLS7.0 to cope with such problem?

The same arguments that I ran through in the article apply to WLS 7. The
solution is diferent, however since WLS 7 has no "system" user per se.
Take a look at http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs70/adminguide/managetx.html#1050458
for the description of what you need to configure to get cross domain
transactions with WLS 7.0

Weblogic servers directory not getting created in the domain directory
Hi
I installed weblogic 12c(12.1.1.0) and then ran the config.sh to create the domain/managed servers directories.
After the config.sh completely ran I am not seeing the servers directory under the domain directory. All other directories like config, bin are present under the domains directory.
If anyone can let me know for weblogic-12c if they have come across such a issue during installation/configuration please reply to this thread.

Weblogic servers directory do not gets created after domain creation or even managed server configuration. It will present itself only when you start the managed server for the first time, that is when it initializes all security attributes, diagnostic attributes (if configured) , etc..
Perform server start and then check if it gets created or not.

Security sandbox and accessing multiple servers
I own the domain kitfox.com, and need to have my WebStart application access servlets on my host server. However, I would like to distribute my servlets across many servers so that the load is balanced. I would also like to do this while keeping everything in the security sandbox (ie, I don't want my users altering their permissions).
If I define several subdomains so that apple.kitfox.com, banana.kitfox.com and cherry.kitfox.com point to three different machines, does this violate the security model?

http://www.kitfox.comThe sandbox restricts outgoing network connections to just the server the application (or applet) was loaded from. So for your app to be able to access apple.kitfox.com it would need to be loaded from apple.kitfox.com. However, the "same" app when loaded from banana.kitfox.com will register as a different app with WebStart.

BEA Weblogic 8.1 running an application
-Both Weblogic servers are running on the same machine (different ports obviously), IIS is on a different machine on the same network.
I have the website currently configured so that jsp files and several servlets are forwarded to the 8.1 server. So: http://mysite.com/hello.jsp or http://mysite.com/myServlet will properly forward to the 8.1 instance.
What I want to do (and have been unable to do so thus far) is to setup IIS such that http://mysite.com/myServices will forward to the 6.1 instance.
I’ve tried to setup the 6.1 iisforward and isapi dll files in a separate folder with their own ini file but I get an Overlapped I/O operation is in progress whenever the 6.1 iisforward.dll file is loaded. (Application Protection is set to High)
Any suggestions?

How can I list all the domains configured for Weblogic Servers?
I saw a note, which says the following:
"WebLogic Server does not support multi-domain interaction using either the Administration Console, the weblogic.Admin utility, or WebLogic Ant tasks. This restriction does not, however, explicitly preclude a user written Java application from accessing multiple domains simultaneously."
In my case, I just want to list all the domains, is that possible by using any scripts?

AJIf you use WLS Node Manager and the Config Wizard was used to create the domains, then the list of domains should be in a location like this:
<MIDDLEWARE_HOME>\wlserver_10.3\common\nodemanager\nodemanager.domains
Enterprise Manager Grid Control also has support for multi-domain management of WLS in a console. -
Issue with updating Security Info on my Microsoft ID
I am stuck in a vicious circle trying to sort an issue with my Microsoft account.
I need to remove an old, defunct, email address and add a load of new security info however, depending on whether the date format on the page I keep being directed to is UK or US, either the updates haven’t happened or they won’t
be happening until next month – which seems ridiculous!
I’m trying to sign up for a Windows Store developer account to publish a Windows 8 app. I’m using my MSDN subscription to register for this (for free) but there is a step I can’t get past because it insists on sending a code to
my old email address – to which I have no access. It is picking up this address from my Microsoft Account Security info – however, I updated this info weeks ago. This is the screen I see (I’ve blurred out some of it as it seemed foolish to publish all my security

It says my old address will be removed on 03/04/2013 and my new info added on that same date. Does anyone know if this is UK date format 3<sup>rd</sup> April – in which case it’s a long wait or a US date 4<sup>th</sup>
March in which case it didn’t happen? I’ve tried phoning 5000 and the Microsoft Customer support lines but neither of them have a clue where to start. They just keep asking me if I’ve forgotten my password – which I haven’t.
Does anyone know how I can resolve this? My only option at the moment is to wait until 3<sup>rd</sup> of April and see if anything changes – which is not ideal.

Why do I have to enter all security info to download a free app AFTER I enter my ID?
Downloadinf a FREE equalizer app and enter my Apple ID. The icon appears on my screen, then I'm "told" I have to enter all of my security info for the download to actually occur.
TextFree assigns me a phone number just by downloading the app; why would a free music EQ require all of my info?Ok I can understand the reason for additional security but the questions!!!!! When was I first kissed, which is my least favoutie car, what was the first album I owned. I have no idea yet I'm required to enter answers for storage and recall later.

The 'send reset info' only shows if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account. I have situation that I need to display the application names and version number of ear/war/jar files that got deployed on weblogic servers using WLST or any simple way to do that.
Scenario: I have 2 manged servers MNG1 & MNG2 and I had deployed google.1.4.5.ear, web.4.514.war & xxx.jar files and targeted to MSG1 & MSG2.

Here i have developed a Simple JMX Code which displays the Application Name, It's Current Status and The Application Version. Please let me know this is what u wanted?

i have find the some of the difference .
the Oracle ADF SRDemo Application (ADF BC Version) version from "Help > Check for Updates" is 10.1.3.0.82.
the Oracle ADF SRDemo Application (ADF BC Version) version from your link is 10.1.3.0.36.2.
i always think the higer version is bettter the lower one,but this make an exception

I've been using sound studio to get my audio from old records (not available on CD) into some of my productions...in order to get them to be aiff files for use in FCE. Now that I have a new mac, my version of sound studio is too old. Should I now be
