Security: Mail, "macdotcom", and iChat requests password frequently...
I login as the main user of my laptop and lately Mail, something called 'macdotcom' and iChat requests password access to Keychain. I type in my password but realize that this is a new behavior (have not upgraded lately) and wondering whether this is a virus or trojan horse program?
Why would I need to provide a password when I've already authenticated as the administrator of the computer?
Is this normal? or should I be worried about a trojan horse? How can I check?
So the whole system is essentially becoming unstable. Any help on how to track down the culprit would be appreciated. Thanks!

Mail and iChat don't respond when computer wakes up
Hi everybody,
When I first boot up my computer, mail.app and iChat both work fine, but when I put it to sleep, and then wake it up, neither application responds. I just get the little spinning rainbow. When I force quit, and reopen, I have the same problem. When I reboot, they're both fine again.
I've tried deleting the preference files for both applications, with no luck.

Power down both DSL and Airport, and your Mac (or at least log out).
Wait about one minute, power up DSL, let it pass some configuration routine (may take another minute or so), power up Airport, wait another minute and fire up the old Mac.
Open chat and mail, put it to sleep and wake it up again.

TS3276 Mail keeps asking for my password. How can I resolve this?
Each time I open Mail it asks for my password. I open Mail Preferences and save the password but it looks as though it is never saved. How can I resolve this? I can still access the mail account - I just dont want to have to enter the password every time I open the application.
Who is the provider of this email account? It can be very hard to distinguish between a PW prompt instigated by the Incoming server vs the Outgoing server. What are the recommended ports to use for each from this provider?

Mail, Keychain and security risks
I had a problem with Mail (constantly asking for my password); to resolve it, I made a small modification in my keychain entry POP3. In my case, since I use "[email protected]", I modified pop3.live.com by changing its access control attribute. In the pop3.live.com, and under access control, I selected “Allow all applications to access this item”.
By doing so, my problem with Mail disappeared finally (I have tried almost everything suggested here over a long period of time with Snow Leopard and now with Lion). I concluded that Mail was not the only application using the pop3 entry. My question is: by changing the access of that entry, am I compromising my system security somehow? Thanks.In two basic ways. The other are services like iChat or IM that requires the user to connect to servers via a secure connection.

I have tried EVERYTHING (well, nt everything, I don’t have the fix I suppose).
I found plenty out there and nothing directly correlates with this issue.
I searched on all parts of the errors I got.
This contains an interesting blurb about setting up access for the apppool id correctly.
That’s not the case for me. It works in dev and the same id are used there.

You say its a multiserver farm, do you have more than one web server then?
If thats the case, have you tried accessing the site on each server directly?

I setup my iCloud account on my iPhone 5 with the wrong e mail address, and I don't remmber the password, I reset my tel and erase all the information on my iPhone in order to try to set up a new iCloud account but when I restart I have a problem agaIn , they ask me to put again the old iCloud user account and password, what I can do in order to start the phone when I don't have the correct e mail and I don't remmber the passcode.?
I have the same problem as the emails go to my iCloud account that I cannot access!!! I cannot answer the security questions as someone else must have set up my iCloud account. Nothing seems to work. It would be great if someone has some ideas as what can be done to recover the situation?

Can I use my existing E-mail address to retrieve my password reset through security questions instead of through E-mail. When I try retrieving my new Apple password through reset through security questions? On the Apple id, it will not allow me to do so becasue I forgot my security answers to the question. I'm naming one or two of the wrong vechiles which is what the questions ask me for for security questions.
For icloud do you reccommend that I keep that same E-mail address or create a new one for my iCloud mail aside from my G-mail address name?
I asked support community for the very first time to reset my security questions and it wanted me to create a new user name for iCloud when I already have *****l for my original Apple id.

Are you being asked to "verify" or "validate" your email? See this for reference:

It is actually quite normal, though usually not quick in time sequence. BIS retains your email credentials so that it can check your email services for new emails without generating any traffic to the BB...only when BIS finds new things on the email server does traffic to the BB get generated. Those credentials, stored in BIS, sometimes must be re-validated...some email services mandate it, and BIS prompts you when it is required.
If, on the other hand, this is the same email account and it is quick in time sequence between two validation requests, there may be something else wrong, in which case I would suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT

Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS configuration for the affected email accounts.

Mail and iChat don't launch after Software Update
Since updating the DST updates and Quicktime and Security 2007-002 updates, Mail and iChat do not launch. The icon bounces once in the dock; that's it.
I have repaired permission and checked the disc using Disc Utility from the OS X Install disc.
I also notice that Software Update 2007-002 remains in my list of updates to download and install. But I did it. And when I try to do it again, the install process stops immeately after it starts and the install app quits.OK Jeremy, this may help or may not, but it will do no harm.
