Security needed while opening the PDF Report
Hi All,
I have developed a report for HRMS, salary PDF report.
My scenario:
1) I have registed my report in concurrent.
2) while the report is opening PDF report, it should ask for any kind of password to view the report.
I want to achive this kind of secnario. can any one help me in this.

Hi All,
Iam having an issue while opening the PDF-Attachment in which iam sending it as attachment to the mail.While opening the PDF iam getting the error that "Aodbe Reader could not open the document because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged(for example,it was sent as an email attachment and was'nt correctly decoded)".
The function-module "SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1" is getting use to send the attachment.
First iam converting the internal table data into PDF and then am sending the mail with PDF-attchment.

Asmitha.Even i had a smilar problem. The reason is perhaps the data in internal table doesnt get converted into PDF corectly. In my case i had to convert into PDF and download on local machine. Attching below code for it.Maybe u can get pointers to your problem.

Erroe while opening the "Finanacial Reporting Studio"
Hi there. Iam getting the error while opening the "Financial Reporting Studio'. The Error is "Runtime Error '429'. ActiveX component can't create object"
Is there any clue to get rid of these. But I can open SQR reporting Studio and Interactive Reporting Studio. I did not istall the "hyperion Financial Managemnet System 9" on my system....... is it the problem or is there any other issue..

Error while opening the PDF preview
Hi,
While opening the form in the PDF preview, i am getting a pop window with a message saying, 'Cannot find 'c:\.\Adobe Examples\request_de.xml'. Make sure the path or Internet address is correct.'. When i click 'ok' it is giving a blank window. Do i need to install anything for that?

Adobe Reader 7 to 8.1 its preferable.

Check u r Adobe Lifecycle Designer (ALD).
Adobe Lifecycle Designer 7.1 and above is preferable.

In our product code we are trying to display the PDF Reports, using the xdo common region.
Previously we were writing the pdf reports direclty onto the response direclty.
This displays the report onto the browser but if navigate throw browser back button, it doesn't displays the report as the response stream is empty while navigating through back button.
So to solve this issue, i tried to write the report using the OAHTMLWebBean and xdo common region. Here is the code:

Problem while opening the BI reports in Portal Favourites
Hi All,
While trying to add a BI report in Portal Favourites, I am able to add the reports in portal favourites but when I click the reports(inside Portal Favourites) to open it , it will not open the reports but opens the very first page of the portal which we get after login to portal.
Please tell me how can I open the respective reports which I added in portal favourites.

Problem while opening the PDF File in Enterprise Protal
Dear All,
I have uploaded a PDF Document of around 30 pages in KM and made an iview to view that document but when i click on the iview the document is not opening properly and after sometime the Portal/system is getting hanged.But when i open the pdf document with less number of pages it is working fine.
I am using EP 7.0 and Adobe Reader 8.1.
Any help or suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Facing the Error while opening the PDF Document generated by Adobe Forms

I have created an Custom Adobe Form and calling this form through a Custom Program and generating the PDF and could able to download on to my desktop but when i am tyring to open it i m facing the below Error.
"There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired" .

WebInterface Server - Error while opening the PDF file
Hello,
We are using webinterface to display the MSDS genearated.
Our customers use the link provided to them for displaying the msds.
We imported a few MSDS ( CG36 ), which are in PDF format & displayed successfully on the webinterface server.
However the newly generated MSDS ( Create Report ) from SAP EH&S system are not getting displayed on the webinterface server. We are getting following error message:
Error reading resulitng document from filesystem. Class:
COM.td.ehswww.results.EhsDocument.
Method:getResolvedDocument().This error could have been caused by a misconfigured filter.ini.
We checked and found that the filter.ini file is same on both quality & production system.
We are able to generate & display the report successfully on quality webinterface server.
Problem only appears on the production webinterface server.
We also tried to search for the SAP notes on this issue.
But we could not find out any relevant note for our issue.
Any help in this regarding is highly appreciated.

We checked on both quality & production webinterface server.
The Tomcat service is not executed with any specific user.
The system is working fine on quality , we are getting errors only on the production.
We also identified a strange behavior on the production web interface server.
We are able to see files under following menu path:
There are error files getting generated.
I guess these error files are getting generated while converting the rtf file to pdf file.
The resultant PDF file is not getting generated and hence system is giving the error on the webpage.
Can you guide us as to why these error files are getting generated .? What can be the root cause of this issue.? and How to prevent this.?

I have to send order confirmation thru mail as a pdf attachment as soon as order has been saved.
I have written the code and assigned to output type.
Here I am getting an error opening a converted pdf file with Adobe Reader
The error message reads:
Adobe Reader could not open "filename.PDF" because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been corrupted (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
Any help would be appreciated.

VRhello, i have the same problem as VR's. The pdf file sent to my email is not able to open. You mentioned that this is only supported by early releases of Adobe. But anyhow, I followed your advice to have my spool converted to PDF, instead of OTF to PDF. But I get this error: Spool request 23595 contains no ABAP list data.
What exactly my transaction does is that, it makes use of a sapscript layout via VL02N using an output type. I retrieve the OTF data in CLOSE_FORM function module. OTF is then converted to PDF via SX_OBJECT_CONVERT_OTF_PDF, then send via email through SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1.
When I view the sent PDF file in my email, It cannot be opened.

Error While opening the BI Report in Production Portal

I have a Report that is working fine in BI Development Server Portal, but when i am trying to do the same in Production Portal it is showing Errors like:
->Fiscal year variant P3 not expected.
->variable 0FYEAR could not be replaced.
if you have an idea please share your idea with me, why it is showing error and what i need to do this.

I had checked both the settings are fine as you has suggested i.e
->make sure that you have transferred fiscal year variant related settings to BI by-->
RSA1 --> Source Systems --> context menu --> transfer global settings.... and
->Also check table T001 in BI, variant for fiscal year is maintained there or not.
but it still showing the same error. Any more idea ! Please share with me if you have any....

Why does reader freeze while opening some pdf files and others open instantaneously?
I use pdf files created from CamScanner and shared from DropBox. In DropBox, many times (over 50%) while opening the PDF the process freezes and the error message is Adobe Reader is not responding. If you close the program, and re-open the file, it opens fine. I have saved these files to my computer and the same issue occurs. The files are 100-500kb, so I do not think size is the issue. I have reinstalled Reader (11.1.10) and there is no improvement.

How to open the pdf document from KM through Link to URL UI element
Hi All,
I have Link to URL UI element in webdynpro java layout - on click of the link we need to open the pdf document from KM respository.
KM Document location : irj/go/km/docs/documents/RHPortal//USA/A/Test/Employee_details.pdf.
Once this is transported to Test and Production portals , we need to retrieve the KM document from the respective portal location through the Link to URL UI element .

Example:

Bind that attribute to the reference property of the LinkToURL element.
