Security of RFC, password setting?

Dear all,
I wanner know should the RFC connections be secured in such manner that any user who makes use of a connection will be prompted to enter a user name and password??
The RFC can directly log on to another R/3 system from table RFCDES if the password field is blank or *?? Is it right?
By transaction SM59, how can I know whether the password was set for a connection?
What does the "Saved" or "is initial" of  "PW Status" mean?

No, password needs to be synced from both sides.

Try with "Test connection"

I noticed that CLIENT FIELD under "Logon & Security" - "Logon" IS BLANK, and curent user is checked. PW Status "is initial"

    I'm a corporate user with a very large company that is using Microsoft Hosted Exchange services actually hosted by Microsoft employees at their facilities.  I called Palm support and they were clueless and zero help.  The lady pointed me to some Palm KB article that I had already read and only remotely had anything to do with my problem.  I see nothing on this error message in the forums and google searches. Sprint has even replaced my palm pre due to other reasons and the same error occurs after I configure the exchange account. I'm also seeing the error when I configure my account on my wifes brand new pixi. Both our pre and pixi already have exchange accounts successfully configured on our phones that are hosted by sherweb. The sherweb exchange accounts work without issue. I have tried configuring this microsoft hosted exchange account 5-6 times with the same result. It accepts my configuration information and adds it to the list of available email accounts in the pre. However, it keeps popping up this message stating "Security policy error: "Exchange... Tap for details" (with a yellow exclamation mark). Then it says "Security Policy Error" The account Exchange (first part of my email address) is disabled because security policies cannot be set." "Leave it disabled" or "Remove Account". I know something is working because it enforced a Password or Pin policy on to my phone which is not required unless this account has been added. I can also see it in the "Mobile Devices" section of web outlook when I login. This is the place in web outlook where you can see the last time the device synced, where you can remote wipe the phone etc. If anyone has any idea how to resolve my issue please post. Any ideas? I'm fresh out of ideas on this problem and very frustrated with Palm Developers. Just another example of poor development and testing practices by Palm. I hope they correct this issue on subsequent releases but I am only marginally optimistic that they will ever get this exchange mail support to the level necessary to support large corporations. What I do know is that my Microsoft Hosted Exchange account works fine on a Windows Mobile phone and a iPhone 3GS (confirmed by other coworks who have configured their phones using our exchange services). As a result, I have no choice but to blame Palm for this problem instead of Microsoft. Palm please fully support microsoft exchange mail users!!!!

    From my understanding of EAS and PDA devices, if the server as a policy to enforce and the device cannot provide that policy then the server will not allow the device to connect. The KB I gave you has a listing of what policies the devices supports, if your server supports more than that then it could deny the connection. As for what the iPhone does and does not do we cannot answer that due to we are not iPhone.

    Hi,
    My c3745 printed "No password set" when I tried to get to the enable mode. So, I tried to do password-recovery, but it is always in the user-mode mode despite the attempts to type "Cntrl-Break", "Alt-b", "Cntrl-C" during the initial reload.
    It failed to go into the Rommon mode, is it has to do with "no service password-recovery ..." being set? What else can I do to solve the problem?

    you have forgot enable password and want to do password recovery with "no service password-recovery" command set. this command will enable ROMMON security which disable access to ROMMON due to which you are unable to go into the ROMMON mode.
    There are only a few methods mentioned in the below URL which you can use to recover from a lost password, but all of them destroy the start-up configuration.

    Open the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences and disable automatic login, and then go into the Security & Privacy pane and set the computer not to log out after a period of inactivity.

    I have a macbook pro which had a firmware password set on it (security-mode = command).
    Update asked me to install updates and one of them was an EFI update. I proceeded and the macintosh booted just fine.
    I've tried changing the firmware password, and removing the password without success so far. It's almost like the nvram terminal command does nothing as far as security is concerned.
    Help would be appreciated!

    Apparently the newer macbooks use a different utility than the older macbooks.
    setregproptool will ask for the current password, and nvram is not used for these anymore.

    If you've never set them then are you able to log into your account via the 'manage your Apple ID' button/link on http://appleid.apple.com, click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of the page that you are taken to, and can you then set them on the right-hand side of that screen ?
    If not then is there a reset link beneath the two questions that show on that screen ? The link will only show if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account.
    If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.

    I tested on my computer that is running Windows 8, but I havenot encountered the same issue.  Could you please test the following thing.
    1. Disable Require Password after wake up in Power Options.
    2. Manually make the computer into Sleep Mode by the Power options in Charm bar rahter than close the lid.
    3. Wake up the computer and check whether the issue persists.

    I just got our iMac back from the Apple store after having the Seagate hard drive swapped out. I restored from an external hard drive. However, when I try to log in, I get a message "Password set to blank by AppleCare". No old passwords work. What does this mean?

    Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
    Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
    Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
          left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
            the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
          the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
                because it is three times faster than wireless.

    I have numerous files that I authored in Acrobat Pro 8.0 and secured with a password to access various functions. Both in my original files that I have maintained and were also sent to others and then renamed by the recipient, my previously established password is not accepted. I need to unprotect these files for further use. Any ideas on the problem? Each of these problem files were created with the problem password prior to installing the V8.25 update this year. Other  files that I have created since and password protected have no problem accepting the correct password.

    Thank you for the response. This process that we are looking to do is necessary. We have 400+ OLD PDF forms that currently are printed by our print shop and then manually filled out and scanned into our system. The current process requires a clinician to log into our scanning system, identify a patient chart, and then identify the type of report they are scanning in. This process is time consuming with possibility of errors (wrong chart selected, wrong form, etc.). Plus, we have to stock up to 400 forms at each location.
    We don’t have the funds to convert 400+ complex forms into electronic submissions where the form fields are discrete and file accordingly. So, what we have come up with to save costs of a new system and reduce potential errors is to add a barcode to each existing form.
    Basically, each form will get a barcode and a javascript function in the onload event to process and parse passed in link parameters.
    So when a clinician clicks on a form link in our EMR system the form will load passing in the patient acct. number and form name into the link parameters (all on our local intranet) so it will get embedded into the barcode on the form. They will then print the form fill out the data (or have the patient fill it out) and then drop it in the scanner. Our scanning system will automatically see the barcode and file the form under the correct patient and form folder based on the barcode info. (A scanned image of the form will save to the patient profile).
    Ultimately we would like to convert all of these forms to electronic signature/submission but we do not have the funds or the time to do this.

    In implementing SCCM we discovered that the 'ctrl+alt+del' button for the SCCM Remote Control client, will not work, unless we enable the 'enable software Secure Attention Sequence' GPO setting with 'Services and Ease of Access Applications' set.
    Our info sec team is looking for some reassurance that this introducing a lot of risk to our orgnization. Does anyone have any guidance they can provide for this?

    As you mentioned In Configuration Manager 2012 does bring the 'ctrl+alt+del' back which required enable the 'enable software Secure Attention Sequence' GPO setting.
    by default, only Ease of Access applications running on the secure desktop can simulate the SAS. If you set this policy setting to "Services and Ease of Access applications," both services and Ease of Access applications can simulate the SAS.
    When services or other application simulate the SAS, since services or application which could launches at logon it takes risks.
    We suggest you refer to system center configuration manager forum because you might get more useful suggestion there
