Security of the new homehub 2.0

Hello there ,
My mum and dad have had the new black home hub 2.0 for a couple of months. I myself have one now. I spoke to my mum today and she said a neighbour's son had been up and down their close with some handheld device (my words not hers), and discovered someone on the close had insecure broadband connection. Apparently it was them.
Now I set up their wireless network some time ago and, i'm no expert, but i needed the wireless key in order to do this. My dad is a bit useless when it comes to anything that feeds off electricity these days, is there any way possible he could have made the network insecure?
Bit concerned, it sounds like a confidence trick to me, but if i suggest this to my parents then of course they're more likely not to believe me, you know how it is!
So i would be grateful for any learned advice before i race round with my baseball bat,

Also theres every chance that the insecure wireless SSIDs were infact BTFon and BT Openzone
(they get flagged up as insecure but need the primary email account name to gain access)
But to be safe, enter http://bthomehub.home/
Click A-Z (top right), then H, then Home network
Enter the password
On this page look for any odd wireless connections to see if the little sod has connected to the hub.
(as a side note; the hub2 has WPA & WPA2 encryption by default - it can be cracked though)
If there are any odd connections (I'd do this regardless), Click Wireless (in blue banner),
navigate to security and change the WPA Encryption key and click apply.
ALSO CHECK that WPA & WPA2 encryption is selected, if not tick it and again hit apply.
You'll need to reconnect any wireless devices using the new key.

TS1398 My wireless router failed and I had to purchase a new one. My security on the new one will not allow me to use the same password. I entered a new password, but of course it is not on my ipod or ipad mini . How can I enter new password ?

My wireless router in my home has failed. I purchased a new router, but it will not allow some of the characters which I used for my old password. Therefore I cannot access the internet with my ipad mini or my ipod touch. I am unable to change the password on either device. I really don't have an answer for that one. I guess that while trying to get things working correctly, I would use the most basic monitor I had which in your case would be the Eizon using the Thunderbolt port and adaptor.
When you boot into Safe Mode the startup is quite slow, but you should get the Apple logo and then the spinning gear below it (release the SHIFT key when it appears.) Then after a little more time you should see a gray progress bar appear below the spinning gear. When that disappears the computer will startup to a login screen.

My DVR security sofware that I access remotely uses a "dvr .ocx" file....when I try it in Firefox , either the latest non beta (3.6.1.5) or the new beta version (4.0 rc) it will NOT work as it says the plugin is missing... it works in IE 8,but not IE9...

My machine is Top of the range (my Company builds them so it had better be :) )
Amd 1100t , 8gb ram , Windows 7 64 bit etc, etc...
The is not a hardware problem , but a software problem with FF...Any help would be appreciated as I hate using IE 8 for anything at all :( but I have to keep it on my machines just to run my remote security cameras at my Computer shop ???

As I own a Computer company I am fairly computer literate but cannot find a plugin that allows this to work in Firefox.... but I would have expected it to work in the new Firefox :(

I do agree that ''something'' needs to be done better with regards to plugins for Firefox, but I do disagree with you as to whose responsibility that ''something'' is.

When I set up the icloud I was using my then email address. My email address has now changed.
I tried to access under the old email address to change it to a new email address but I couldn't remember the security questions and as I can't access the old email address, I can't change it. So to solve the problem I set up a new account under the new email address. The only problem is my iphone is still asking for the old email address password which doesn't work.
How do I connect my iphone to the new account as it wont let me delete the old account on the iphone without the password (which as mentioned above doesn't work)?

How to reset your Apple ID password.

this is all greek to me. WHAT IS STARTTLS? On the first page of Apple set up there is a TLS certificate and it is marked NONE- should I change it to the long APPLE CERT option? The next page under ADVANCED: THERE IS A BOX SSL MARKED. Then IMAP Path Prefix - I put stmp.gmail.com.. is that right? Port 993 can use this one? as 456 doesn't work and 587 said it wasn't safe. Under AUTHENTICATION I used PASSWORD. Should I have used external client cert TLS?

How do I secure a PDF that has been signed so that it can't be opened in the new Word

Hoping someone can help. As the title suggests I need some advice in securely locking a PDF after it has been signed.
I know how to secure a PDF document so that it can't be opened in the new version of the Word 2013.
File > properties > Security and pick password protect
Then open Word and down the bottom left hand corner click 'open other documents'
This then attempts to open the PDF and if secure it will fail to open if unsecured it will open making the content fully editable
However when you sign a document you can't secure it by going file > properties > Security and pick password protect.

The content is fully editable - how can I lock this????????????????????????????

Hi Garetch,
You could encrypt the file first, but set the permissions to allow for signing. After that you can sign the encrypted file (you just can't encrypt a signed file). As long as you get the order of operations correct (encrypt first, sign second) you will end up at the same place you are trying to get to.
