The devices you need to purchase is Routers, pix firewall or ASA.The best way to configure the routers and PIX using the documents in cisco.com.

Unable to follow links in pdf document which use asynchronous pluggable protocol on Windows unless we disable extended security completely (Reader 11.0.7) - is there any other way round this?

We have a pdf document which contains links of the format appname://some/path.
This is using Windows Asynchronous Pluggable Protocols which we have defined in the registry so these links should launch the application with the path as an argument.
If we disable enhanced security in Reader 11.0.7 then this works - otherwise it just fails to do anything.
With enhanced security on, we get warning and select trust this site for all pdfs.
Adobe then stores the first part of the path i.e. for appname://some/path it will store path in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\11.0\TrustManager\cDefaultLaunchURLPerms].
Don't get warning after that but the application still doesn't launch if enhanced security is enabled.

Apologies was mislead - it's not enhanced security which is causing the issue, it is protected mode.

1. selected the radio button "form"
2. Gave the name of my new sapscript form
3. mentioned IMPORT
4. ran the program.
5. During the program i selected the file (.txt) from where the form would be uploaded from.
6. Object was created and activated .
In ur case , u r saying that it is asking for the development clas, so please provide the same...
It's nothing but the package name...
If u dont have idea regarding the development class., save it to "$tmp" (as a local object)..That will be done...

How do I remove the outdated flash from the latest and greatest "secure" Acrobat Reader XI?

I read that the version XI is enhanced with better security in mind. Great all for that.
But what I also see is the included version of Flash player is outdated. Not so good.
So how do I blast this flash plugin part of the installation into oblivion?

You could try to rename the current npswf32_11_4_402_287.dll and use that, but as you note it’s probably not tested with APE (a wrapper that allows Flash to be used in our C++ applications) or in Reader… It’s really up to those product teams to take the latest releases and incorporate them into their builds.

Security of reading e-mail over gprs

Hi there,
when you use WLAN with your mobile and read e-mail you can enjoy the WPA(2) encryption. But what about security, when you are on the road and have to use e.g. GPRS? Yahoo e.g. has no pop3 encryption, so the pop3 password goes plain text over the air... Or am i wrong? What is the security level offered? I am not worried about reading e-mail from Google GMAIL, because pop3/ssl encryption is mandatory for GMAIL. But, what about GPRS connection using a service like Yahoo mail that does not use eny encryption? The password goes plain text into the air...

DEVELOPERS PLS READ - SIDEKICK 3 - NEEDS AN ISYNC PROFILE

guys - we need an isync profile for the sidekick 3... Pls let me know if there is a reason for there not being a profile already... If tmobile or danger or dragging there feet send me the story and i will blow them up on the danger or phone forums... this is ridiculous to have a pda style phone that you cant sync...

There are likely substantially less than 500,000 Sidekick mobile handsets deployed in the US, more than 80% of them in the hands of T-Mobile subscribers and the balance fielded by Suncom. That's not a very large market, particularly when it is layered over the universe of Mac OS X users. The intersection of those two groups is likely well under 50,000 potential users, most of whom do not synchronize with anything but the Danger/Suncom/T-Mobile servers.
The Mark/Space product did not actually synchronize the device to a Macintosh desktop or portable computer directly. Instead, it synchronized iCal and the Address Book to the web-based servers maintained by Danger or the carriers. While it's a great idea, Mark/Space could not justify continued development or support of the product, so it's difficult to imagine how anyone else other than Danger or a carrier like T-Mobile could do so.

I have been reading thru the posts. Alot of people giving 3dmark2001,2003,aquamark scores that semm very low to me.
With my p4 2.8 not overclocked at all and 2-3-3-7-1 ram in dual channel
I score 3dmark2001se 18400-18700
aquamark 3 44000-44800
3dmark2003 6000-6200
What am i missing here ? I am not overclocked with a p4 2.8 .
I am seeing people with amd 1mb 3400 and top noych memory posting scores that a newbie like me would laugh at . Should i send this stuff back or is this possible that such a high end chip and ramm scores alot slower then my mediocre setup.
Pls explain if you can or prove me wrong somehow. In my signature is what i have ordered ands its due to arrive friday. Should i send this back and wait or am i missing something and are people scoring high benchmarks. I havent seen any please feel free to enlighten me or tell me what,who , when, and why ?
I saw a post saying he scored 8000 in 3dmaark2001 se . I got that score with an old X2 caRD AND I THINK AMD TBIRD 875 OR SOMETHING(BEEN TOO LONG).

I very much like what i have ordered(the graphics card is in my current system now). But not downing MSi or any board. I had the impression that a 3200 would smoke over my current system(at stock).
Thinking very hard atm about what to do . I dont know. I want benchmarks. i dont overclock cause i dont have the money to fokr out on parts every 5 months if something fries.I might mildly overclock ...... I am very confused atm thats all. TimeCapsule security information - READ THIS before copying data!!!!

I bought my TimeCapsule yesterday, spent all night (literally) copying data off some old usb/firewire drives and then was struck by the "Not everyone on my network should have access to all of this stuff!" moment.
I had been reading these posts - and realize that I was going to have to be the one to bite the bullet and experiment with security.  I have it working - and it seems to work just fine.  Here's what I did.
The timecapsule install program guides you through setting the device up. But ... what it does not do (BAD BAD DEVELOPERS!!!!  I want to hit you with the stupid stick!!) is tell you about security.  I assumed, like others that have posted here, that I would be able to set security permissions on different folders just like any other Mac drive. NOPE!  Doesn't work. You have the options at the bottom of "get info" on the drive folder, but .. it doesn't do anything!!!
All is not lost though read on.
Relaunch the airport utility (Applications->Utilities->Airport Utility) select your TimeCapsule device, and this time select the "Manual Setup" button at the bottom of the window.
At the very top you will see a blue disk on the toolbar labeled "Disks".  When you select that you will then have three things to choose from - Disks, FileSharing, and Accounts.  Click FileSharing.
You will see a dropdown called "Secure Shared Disks". By default it will say "With disk password".  Select "With accounts".  You will get a very ominous message that says (paraphrasing here) that if you do this you will loose all existing data on the drive.  You know what?  It means it.  You do.  Gone.  All gone.  I copied data all night - and now I have to do it again. Did I mention how mad I am at the people at Apple and their extreme oversight about this?  The "wizard" should have provided a LOT more information about security - or at least their documentation.  But I digress.
Once you have picked "With accounts" and clicked "OK" on the scary message, select "Accounts".  TimeCapsule will not automatically pick up on the accounts on your mac or anyone elses.  You have to enter them here.  But it's really no big deal, when users connect the first time they can save their info so they don't have to do it again.  Anyway - put in all the accounts and passwords you think you might want - you can add more as needed later.
At this point the utility restarts TimeCapsule.  Once it comes up connect to the drive (select it in finder and then "connect as"). You will be prompted for an account name and password - you know what to do here.
Now here is what you will find.  Remember the disk folder that was visible to anyone and everyone when you first set TimeCapsule up?  Well, it's still there.  But empty (actually, I think the data is still on the drive but you can't see it and I have no idea how to get it back).  It's now, more or less, a "public" folder for everyone to share (that's where my Itunes library will go) And there will be another folder - with your account name on it.  Guess what?  It's private just for you (actually for whoever is logged on with the respective account).  No one else can even see it.  I have been testing this with four different accounts and it works great!  One account will be shared by two people (a collaboration area of the drive) while at the same each will have their own private area (virtual, not physical like a partition) on the drive.
So now I am going to start copying my data (again!!) to the appropriate account folders.  Oh, there is NO admin who can see all of the accounts.
I really hope this helps someone.  I was more than a little frustrated at 4AM this morning and hope I can prevent the same for someone else.

The NAS units are Fantom Drives Mega disks. Here are some things you should know:
Pros:
Dual drive units. Can either be striped to give 1TB or RAID 1 at 500g. RAID 1 doesn't seem to slow them down.
Web interface - Obviously written by Chinese but understandable and functional.
Company support for questions has been ok. I wouldn't say great but probably better than Apple. Twice I was able to talk to a human about how to achieve something.
The iTunes server is virtually automatic. There is a public/music directory. Anything placed in there is automatically served. I decided to point my actual iTunes library to that location. Now when a song is added for any reason the server picks it up immediately.
Cons:
Power cords are bad. The unit is best left in a remote location where nothing can touch the power cord.
Some people have had failures of these units. I personally have not. They work fine and as advertised.
Because they use a different file system it is possible to have filenames on the Mac that won't work on the NAS. I've run into this. The result is the file simply will not copy over. Change the name and it works. Avoiding key unix chars in the filename helps and keeping it reasonably short.
My experience:
I have pounded these NAS devices with multiple copies from multiple machines and they just seem to work. Once connected they just continue to remain connected.
Like I said above I point my iTunes directory there. On reboot I have to reconnect to that drive before I start iTunes as I've been too lazy to setup any kind of auto-reconnect. Honestly I don't reboot that much so I haven't worried about it. But once connected iTunes just works perfect.
The accounts seem reasonable secure. I setup an account for a buddy and put some files in it and gave him FTP access. He was unable to get anywhere else but his directory. He could see the other directory names but could not move to them. Same result when he was here locally.

How to handle Table control (pls read question)

I am writing code for CA21 Tcode , i am getting values into table control using P+ successfully but problem is i have to select 1st entry in table control and it will go to other screen and come back and select 2nd entry ....like that it will do until all entries in table control is over .
Can any one pls send any code for this logic.

Can't update Mac OS and Ipad (yes on this forum, pls read)

I know most people are tempted to reply: "Post on the iPad / iTunes forum", but the issue is with Mac OS X 10.6. Here are the 2 issues I am having:
1- Mac OS Updates, from printers to firmware, to itunes , safari updates. Everytime i run software update it fails saying it can't install the downloaded updates (not a lot of info here), but if I manually download the .dmg from apple's site, and run on terminal sudo installer .dmg , it works....
2- Iphone / ipod / ipad updates. They all fail after the 4.2 (or 4.1 for that matter) finishes downloading with can't decompress file (error 1403)
I verified disk, no issues. I verified and fixed permissions. all good now, BUT issue 2 still happens. I don't thing that is a way to manually download 4.2 for the I's, i would try that.
The same devices updated ok to 4.1 on my Mac. The issues are on my mother-in-law's mac (same Macbook version and OS. 10.6.5)

I'm with Kappy on this one - if the manually downloaded combo updater can't be installed by the usual method there's something seriously wrong. Typically the Mac OS doesn't need to be reinstalled if there's a problem - I've found that most problems can be traced to an issue in the user's account so my first step is to see if the problem follows me to another account. So try downloading the combo updater in a new user account and installing it. If that doesn’t work then reinstall the OS.
Just to reiterate Kappy's point, reinstalling the OS won't erase your data or applications. Some programs place their registration information in the root library and will need to have their serial number reapplied. If you own Adobe products I'd recommend that you deactivate them first. However, I just did this myself on my work desktop and forgot to deactivate Photoshop CS5 and even it worked as soon as the Mac rebooted into its new clean OS.

Serious filevault problem, delay, pls read & help

Hi, apologies for the long message but my problem is really a trouble over a month or two! Here's the cause: My battery was exhausted (because of using studio program required to be a lot on power adaptor), put my mac on sleep for a couple hours, then opened to shut down but cos of battery was with X symbol, it suddenly shut down. Next time tried to log in to my admin account -was the only account on mac & with file vault on cos of my work-but displayed msg "you can't log in to your account at this time". Master password lost note & didn't try over once to write in case of lock(failure). I did my homework here & then did the following but nothing solved my problem:
1. reset admin pass by root, made another admin account, then changed original admin account password. When logged in ,noticed there was a sparse image of my home folder. I tried to open it via disk utility, displayed msg " are you sure to open, may damage your system", clicked open, then displayed msg "no mountable file systems". I had a strong belief my data hadn't gone for good.
2. Also tried method of how to repair or verify your home folder, from utilities, users described changed permissions etc, nothing.
3. On disk utility I tried & changed the sparse image to read/write one no compressed, still the same disk size of data but again when opening displayed msg "no mountable file systems".
4.By the way I verified & my HD had a minor repair so I did repaid to HD as well.
I deleted original admin user, recreated it again with same name & password.
I did also archive & install just in case of minor repair corrupted anything & preserved my previous system.
5.Cos my HD is 120GB couldn't turn off vault, so I saved sparse image to external disk, deleted from mac so to turn off filevault, then copied sparse image, same procedure, zero result.
6. Turned on filevault again, tried to reopen sparse image and/or converted one, nothing same message.
7. Last effort, to turn off filevault-notice sparse image is 76.5GB- had to remove items to save somehow disk space I moved applications I didn't use to external disk, even previous system so 19GB were available but not enough.. Then I moved everything back to original place & repaired the disk again.
If I erase & install all over again Tiger & recreate the same admin account, then turn on, off filevault??
I will upgrade to leopard or snow leopard, it'll be easier somehow to open a sparse image then?
You are my last attempt for solution, as I said my HD is 120GB, I've said every personal data on external disk, is there anything left to open or try otherwise to turn off filevault or no trouble cos my data are gone for good so to give up & go on?
I can't waste more time to it, really delays my work, can you help me?

Client security fingerprint reader as master web password

From the reading I have done and the Flash video I watched, I understand that I can use the fingerprint reader on my laptop as a master password. I am most interested in this for my online passwords (firefox). I can't find an article with a simple explanation or a step by step guide to do this.
Can anyone help me out either by explaining it to me or by pointing me in the right resource direction? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Well, it must work better for you. First time every time? For me it works but I frequently lose patience with it needing several goes it and have to enter a password manually just to get past it.
Keep an eye on lastpass.com; a coming release will support fingerprint readers, then you can use it for everything.

Secure file reading/ writing

I'm looking for a program that can write and encode and read and decode data... My teacher said there is a class in the Java library that has an encode method, but I wasn't able to find it. Does anyone know of anything that might help me?

Basically I wanted to make a program that keeps track of bank account info (just for practice purposes). The problem I see before I even start is that all I know how to do is read/ write a text file. I wanted to be able to store user names, passwords, and account info and I don't want the information to be so easy to access/ modify by something like Notepad

I've seen this reported in the Mac Forum and the solution was to go to the iTMS home page, then scroll down to the bottom and change the flag to your current location.

I agree but I found this article off of my iGoogle home page. It is linked to from LXer.com.
I weighed your concerns prior to posting this topic but IMHO the amount of people we send there from these forums will be insignificant to the amount of people who will find this in searches and from other sources. The comments that enlighten those to the errors in the article will be much more valuable then ignoring the article completely.
But again it free will is a great thing so click or do not click based on you own personal preference.
