Security question in adobe reader

I downloaded a PDF to adobe reader then saved it, now when I try and view it, it is telling me that the file is secured and "acrobat (which I do not have) does not allow connection to: (a specific website)". I think I inadvertantly said no to a question that popped up on my screen about allowing this particular website to do something (?) when I fist opened the file. I think that the website might be mentioned in my PDF. I think I may need to take the security off of this website, so that I can view the PDF. How can I fix this? The help section directed me to enhanced security and then sandbox-then I was lost??? I also deleted the PDF and re-downloaded it and the same thing is there. Help me, please. Thank you.

To reset the warning go to Edit - Preferences - General and click on "Reset All Warnings".
However, you can't remove a security policy using Reader, but I don't think that's required here.
Just click the button described above and then re-open the file and allow it to connect to the server. It's probably a part of a DRM protection policy that requires to communicate with an online server before allowing you to open the file.

In general, you can provide feedback or make feature requests in this forum.  The Adobe Reader Touch team closely monitors the posts in this forum and the customer reviews in the Windows Store to determine which features to support in future releases.
Alternatively, you can send your feedback via the Reader Mobile Blog post below by Dennis Griffin (the product manager for Adobe Reader mobile products, such as Adobe Reader for iOS, Android, and Reader Touch for Windows 8).

  • How do I change my security settings in Adobe Reader to allow me to add my electronic signature?

I am trying to fill out a job application that requires me to type my signature, but it will not enter.  When I go to File-Properties-Security, it says signing is "Not Allowed".  How can I change this to allow signing?  Thanks you so much.

  • How do I open a secure document in Adobe reader using my iPhone 5

I Am trying to pay a bill using adobe reader. I understand how to open a document from my emails with the app, but once I open the document in Adobe reader it is still secured and will not let me enter in my account  info to pay the bill. How can this be fix?

Adobe Reader mobile products (Reader for iOS, Reader for Android, etc.) do not support commenting or form filling with secured (hence, encrypted) PDF documents.
Please use the desktop version of Adobe Reader on your Windows or Mac computer to fill in the secured PDF form.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Security password for adobe reader XI

    Hello!
My laptop is a windows xp and I have adobe reader XI.
I'm not able to set up a pasword to protect my adobe reader files.
    Can anyone help with this?
    Many thanks!

I've tried firefox. I already cancelled my subscription of adobe acrobat which i've been told to be the only adobe program I could set up a password for.
I'm not able to download nothing at the moment. I have avast internet security 2015 having stopped it, turned off the firewal  but i'm still not able to download any programme. Avast might be blocking my downloads of adobe products. Can you help with this new problem?

  • Security Warning in Adobe Reader beim Öffnen eines pdf-Links

    Hallo zusammen

  • I need to access the security features in adobe reader XI

I have done what it said to do in the help section but I cannot change the security features. I need to make a document unprintable.

You can't change security with Adobe Reader. The instructions you found are probably for Adobe Acrobat.

  • Questions regarding Adobe Reader Extensions for Adobe Livecycle.

    Hi,
I'm relatively new to Adobe products, having just started to use Adobe Livecycle over the last couple of weeks. I've produced a set of interactive forms for field engineers to use. When completed, they will submit the xml data via email. However, there will be numerous occasions where they will need to stop in the middle of data collection and come back at a later point to finish, hence the need to locally save the information before submission.
I understand this is where Adobe reader extensions would come in, unlocking this functionality.
At the moment, i'm a bit of a loss on several points regarding how reader extensions work and i was wondering if anybody could fill in the gaps:
    1. Are they seperate modules that bolt in into the main Livecycle application?
    2. As these forms will be used off line, i would like to set the permissions to the pdf locally. From what i read, Reader Extensions is a server product. Is this correct, or can i use Reader Extensions to set these permissions before publishing the adobe form?
    3. Where can i get hold of Reader Extensions and how much do they cost? I have been reading information on similar topics on this forum (dating 3-4 years ago) that say reader extensions are comparitavely expensive to a Adobe Pro/Livecycle licence. ($50,000 upwards) Is this correct? If so, is there a cheaper alternative to achieve the same outcome?
I hope someone can shed some light on these points!
    Thanks in advance.
    Rob

Reader Extensions can be bought as a module in LiveCycle. There is a subset of RE functionality that exists in Acrobat. The ability to save locally is part of Acrobat. In both cases you woudl RE the form before distributing it, hence when the user gets your form they are ready to go. You can download a trial version of the server product. As far as pricing goes you woudl be better to talk to an Adobe salesrep as there are discounts for certain situations as well as different pricing options. If you decide tp gp the Acrobat route you ar limited, by licence, to distribute your form to a max of 500 users.
    Hope that helps

  • Question:  Uninstall Adobe reader 9.1.3?

Adobe Reader is not working properly - Having difficulities opening pdf files.  How can it be uninstalled, so a current version can be installed?

    MichaelKazlow wrote:
Under Windows you can use the Control Panel to uninstall. On a Mac, just drag to the trash.
That doesn't do it completely, Michael. Dragging the app only removes the app. Preferences,, plugins and .plist files remain in the Library folder.
There's an app called "AppZapper" that removes all asociated files, much like the Adobe Cleaner, and then emptying the trash removes ALL Reader files.

my files.  it appeared one day unwanted and un-announced, like a bum on my doorstep.  i use Skype extensively.  its an extra step to click on the Adobe window to shut off the pale blue color, so i can read the page clearly when my Skype window is open.  i have to do it for every damned page, and it's a pain.  the problem occurs when i'm not on Skype, too.  HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a work station with low RAM and have tried cutting off apps to conserve it.  However, now I have to ask what may be a "dumb" question:  Are there any Readers with extremely low RAM requirements, but as close to fully functional as the "real" application?  Thanks for any help possible!

1 gig of RAM, Windows XP, 74 gb, and I'll take a look at the ftp site.  The

  • Adobe Reader document security properties miss-match

    Hi,
I've created a document with document assembly allowed and form filling diss-allowed. Infact it's security bitmap mask is:
    011011011100 or -2340
So you can clearly see that:
bit 9 is off, signifying form filling is NOT allowed
bit 11 is on, signifying document assembly IS allowed
Problem is I'm seeing this in adobe reader:
    So my questions:
Why is there an inconsistency between the two dialogs?
Why in the first dialog is form filling allowed?
    Thanks in advanced!
    Andy.

If you are using your own software, I would think that your question is not directly related with Adobe and/or Reader.
I have to disagree, perhaps you didn't see my first post with my two specific questions?
Why is there an inconsistency between the two dialogs [in adobe reader]?
Why in the first dialog [in adobe reader] is form filling allowed?
So to re-iterate. I've created a PDF with a bitmask (which you can see in my first post) which, to the best of my understanding and interpretation of the PDF spec is correct and valid for a PDF that should diss-allow form filling. This part should really not be in question, unless of course I've interperated the PDF spec wrong and the bitmask is wrong. Either way, the bitmask shows that form filling is not enabled. In adobe reader, the first security details screen says that form filling is enabled. My question is simple, why? Also, why is it inconsistent between the two properties forms?
Anyone have any knowledge about these two security dialogs in adobe reader?
    I hope this helps!
    Thanks a lot!
    Andy.

  • Security question prompt bleeds out of box, can't read it., Security question prompt bleeds out of box, can't read it.

I'm having a bit of a problem entering my id and password, and I'm invoking the security questions.  I have two.  And the second is so long it does not completely appear in my iPhone (4S) question box.  I've forgotten what the question might be so I can't even guess as to the answer.  Any ideas how to see the whole question? I tried turning the display but the bounding box does not enlarge.  Thanks

Go to appleid.apple.com, click on the blue button that says 'Manage Your Apple ID'.
Log in with your Apple ID and password.
Go to the Password & Security section.  You will be shown two of your three security questions.  Answer them correctly, and you'll have access to that sub-page, where you can choose new security questions and answers.
