Security Questions in Different Language

All of the emails and security questions I get from Apple are in different languages. How can i change this? Please help!

#1 and #2
can be done, if you upgrade to Solaris 10 and edit /etc/default/passwd (see man passwd)
#3:
well, should work. At least you can set how long a password is valid (see man passwd).
#4:
#5:
Can be done with if you use something like MS AD or LDAP for your naming service, don't think Standard Solaris can do it. Even if you of course can use the PAM framework to create a PAM module which does this, or search the net to see if someone have done it already.
Thinking of it, it might be possible in pure Solaris as well, but if it is haven't done it. Perhaps someone else knows.
#6 and #7:
possible, again, if you upgrade to Solaris 10. In Solaris 10 you can lock an account after X amount of failed login attempts by editing /etc/security/policy.conf and make sure that LOCK_AFTER_RETRIES are set to "yes".
By default this feature allows the user to try and login 4 times, after 4 bad login attempts the account is locked. The amount of retries can be set in /etc/default/login .
The time can also be set in login, sort of.
The latter file can also be used to specify when to log the failed attemt to syslog.
See (on Solaris 10):
man login
man policy.conf
#8:
If you are refering to the root account; in the same way as any other account i'ld suppose. Even if you have to be more careful. The root accounts might not be used very frequently, and when you have to use them its probably an emergency..

Need to answer security questions to access new iPad, security questions are different than what I originally answered.

    Doubtful.

  • Backed up using i-cloud now can not restore because security questions are different from apple account?

i just purchased a new i-touch for my son becasue he smashed th old one. I purchased it at the apple store and the tech told me to back info up utilizing i-cloud. I did that inside the store. I am trying to set the i-touch up using the i-cloud backup but when i get to the security question part, the questions are different from my apple account. I then get an error message saying server error. I called apple and they did not seem to be much help.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Contact Apple through iTunes Store Support, and explain that you have forgotten your 3 security questions, that you can reset your password, but doing so doesn't reset your security questions.
Explain that after resetting your password, you are still asked for the answers you have forgotten, before you can gain access to My Apple ID > Manage your account > Password & security, which is where you need to be to change your answers.
Remember, support will receive hundreds, if not thousands of requests per day, some from people trying it on, others with little explanation and others that are written extremely poorly. Take the time to explain your situation properly, be precise and concise, brief but comprehensive.

  • Making a purchase for the first time, security questions are different to what I've set up?

    Hello,
My friend has recently gifted me a $10 for my app store. After redeeming it, it says I have $10.00 Credit, which I assume is a good thing. Now, with this money he has sent me, I am trying to buy a Gem Pack in the game 'Clash Of Clans', this costs $9.99.
I click purchase and it tells me "Insufficient Remaining Store Credit" where it also says "Tap Continue to Sign In". After typing my password in, I am led to the account billing settings where I've got the 'none' option selected as I have not put any credit card details which shouldn't be a problem as I'm trying to buy with the money my friend has given me.
I click the 'done' button where it then tells me "confirmation required" where I then click 'buy', but then it comes up with "Verification Required".
Putting in my password once again, it asks me for security questions. Here lies the problem. It usually asks me one question I know, and another that I haven't put in before. Usually "What's your dream job?" comes which I've put the answer to as this is a question I know. But, after it usually asks me either "What was your first pet's name?" which is a question I haven't put before.
I've tried going to appleid.apple.com and changing and resetting my security questions multiple times, even to match the questions that are asked and it gives me the same result.
"You've typed one or more security questions answers wrong".
Please help, this is getting on my nerves. If this persists, I'm afraid I won't be buying from iTunes much.
    Cheers,
    Jack.

After resetting your questions you've tried logging out (tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store) and back into your account on your iPad to see if they then tie up ?
If they don't, and resetting them yourself doesn't make any difference, then you could try contacting Support and see if they can help with what's going on.
Normally when needing to contact support to get the questions reset you need to contact Support in your country : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
You could try the same contact method for your problem - or you could try contacting iTunes Support via this page, but as it's related to security questions they might just point you to the above : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ , click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
For the $9.99 purchase and your $10 credit, if you are in the US then you need to add on your state's sales tax to an item's listed price

  • HT5312 my security questions are different than the ones I picked

    help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then steps 1 to 5 on the page that you posted from should let you reset them : go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account, then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use

  • How do I get my gmail account unlocked, it has been hacked and even security questions changed. I can't access the account to change the password.

Someone used one of my two gmail accounts to send emails to both of my gmail accounts and one of my yahoo accounts - using all my contacts on the three accounts - saying I was in Scotland and needed money, please send it. I have changed the password on my other gmail and the yahoo accounts but the email account used to send that message to all my contacts I can no longer access, appear to be locked out. Even the security question is different than the ones I established. A friend did respond, was emailed back that I as at the Raddison Hotel in Edinborough and he called that hotel to be told I was not registered there. So - what do I do now? I've been told by yahoo that is it a browser problem. I have not heard back from google. Help!

I gave in and am now using IMAP but I still find the behaviour a bit wierd...

  • HT1918 Changing my security questions?

For some reason my security questions are different from what they should be. Is it possible to just change them?

If you can remember their current answers then you can login here and change them : https://appleid.apple.com
If you can't remember their answers and you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.

  • Security question verification email is set to a different email than my apple ID

Oddly enough, the Itunes store will not let me purchase new msuic without verifying my account now, even though I made a purchase on this computer about a week ago. It wants me to verify via my billing information and security questions. However, I can only remember one of my secert questions, and when I attempt to reset my security questions via email, it appears that the verification email is sent to the wrong address - not to my apple ID email. The email is sent to a .au email instead of my .com one. Just to be clear, I do not own or have access to the .au email address.
Can someone point me in the right direction to have this problem resolved?
    Thank you for your time.
    Justin.

The reset link will show the rescue email address that you have on your iTunes account - it can't be the same as your primary email address (not alternate email addresses), so it will be different.
You won't be able to change the address until you can answer your questions, you will need to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset you can then use the steps on this page to change your rescue email address for potential future use : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5620
Or, if it's available in your country, you could change to 2-step verification : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570

  • App Store Security Questions Wrong Language

Hi I am experiencing a problem on the app store. I try to buy something off of the app store and it asks me to answer two security questions. The problem is the security questions are in spanish. I dont know what they are saying! How do I change the language? And also know I tried to answer them and my account was restricted for a while -_-

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • When i want to change the security questions they sent an email to a different email address then the alternate email addresses

when i want to change the security questions they sent an email to a different email address then the alternate email addresses

The reset link will send reset info to the rescue email account that you put on your account - alternate email addresses are different email addresses, they are not used for resetting questions.
If you don't have access to your rescue email account (you won't be able to change it until you can answer your questions) then you will have to contact Support in your country (and which is therefore on your iTunes account) to get the questions reset.

If your country isn't on that page then try this form and explain and see what they reply with : https://ssl.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html
When they've been reset you can then change your rescue email address for potential future use (but it can't be the same as any other address on the account) : Manage your Apple ID primary, rescue, alternate, and notification email addresses
Or if it's available in your country you could change to 2-step verification : Frequently asked questions about two-step verification for Apple ID
