Security questions reset not working

I am trying to change my security questions because I forgot the answers to them but when I click on "Forgot your answers? Send reset security info email to j•••••@yahoo.com" I never get the email to reset them. My email also does not start with a 'J', my email is the same as my UN on here and my alternate email also starts with a D. I just bought my first iTunes gift card and was hoping to buy some stuff but this has stymied me in every way.

The rescue email address is not the same as your primary email address on your account nor your alternate email addresses . If you don't know what your rescue email address is (you won't be able to change it until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you could try contacting iTunes Support or Apple to get the questions reset.
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then try Apple ID Account Security
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then answer the 2 questions that appear on that screen to check/update your rescue email address for potential future use

    Should come up as "Forgot your answers? Send reset security info email to <First letter of address>•••••@<domain>" not 'mymail'.
    As you can only see the first character and domain, it is impossible to tell if there is a typo in the Email which could be sending the Security Question Reset to a random Email address instead of yours.
    You'll need to contact the Account Security Team. You can request a callback so that the call cost is covered by Apple by using getsupport.apple.com. Check it's showing your country at the top of the page) and select the following options:

    Enter details and click Continue to enter the callback into Apple's system
    NB. Don't forget that as it shows the country code (+44 for UK, +353 for ROI), you need to drop the leading 0 from the beginning of your mobile number or area code!

    I put a 100$ in my account, when I came to buy it asks me for the security questions although my password is correct. When I answered the security questions, it says it is wrong. I tried to change my security questions by send a recovery e-mail but the e-mail address it is sending to is not mine (its other than the alternative e-mail) I can't change the security questions and I can't use my credits to buy apps. what should I do to fix this problem?

    If your device is signed into an old ID of yours that is an earlier version of the ID you want to sign in with, do the following:
    If you are using iMessage and FaceTime, make sure you are signed into these services with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
    Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless you are using iCloud Photo Library).  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

    I need to reset my Apple ID password, but it says that my security questions were not answered correctly.  The email address associated with the questions to reset the answers is no longer available to me. It is my old college email.  Does anyone know how to change this email? The unavailable email is not in my list of emails approved in my Apple ID settings.

    You cannot and need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

    We are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, we won't know why. You've checked the spam folder on your rescue email account as well as the inbox ? If it's not there either then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.
