Security Reports - Scheduling daily retrieval

Hi,
I have two questions regarding security reports.
I do Not have Planning audit trails activated(client does not want that.) But I Do need a daily report of all the changes that the Hyperion admin does to the roles and provisioning of groups and users.
Q1.
Of the 3 reports-Security Reports,Artifact Reports,Config Reports ,that are available in Shared services, it seemed that the 'Security Reports' was my best bet as it made me select what I wanted reports on.(eg. Directory Managemet,UserProvisioning in Select Tasks).But when I run the report I see repetitive lines of useless info
eg:
Performed on Performed by Application Artifact Type Artifact Name Task
05/17/2011 admin@native Shared Services User admin@native Authenticate
Attribute Name : Host Info
New Value:UNKNOWN
Access control report only gives me the user/group access and not the changes that were made to them. The Security team at the bank would want to monitor the activities of the Hyperion admin and see what changes were made by her.
Which report shoould I use to get the required info?

How do I automate the generation of reoprt such that the members of the security team get the report in their emails daily?
I would appreciate any help that I get on this.

Hi,
are we talking about a single report object here or do more than one report objects (Have the same problem)?
Is the empty instance been scheduled with the same user as the one you use to view the report in the infoview?
Have you checked for any error messages in the log files residing in the logging directory in your BOBJ installation directory?
Have you got any service packs (latest SP = SP4) installed on your BOBJ server?

Our BO reports are scheduled to refresh daily early mornings 2 - 6 AM and around 280 reports run daily. We want to know list of failed reports daily and measure run time differences for each report in different days and run time for all 280 reports.
1. List of failed reports (to check if same reports are failing daily)
2. Total run time for all reports
3. Change in run for each report on different days.

Crystal report scheduling error

Hello,
We are getting this error Intermittently, "login error. [CrystalEnterprise.DiskUnmanaged]: [Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.]" when we schedule crystal report to file location. I had checked the user name and password and access to the file location, they are fine. We have scheduled this report to run daily, but somedays it throws the above error and somedays it runs fine. Any ideas please?

Security report

Hello,
I was asked to put together somewhat of a draft for a "security report", but I'm unsure as to what values might be useful to report. I'm sure many of you out there have done something similar in the past and I'm not asking for complete ready-made scripts, just ideas as to what to include. I'm thinking failed logins, maybe specific user login, maybe include information about latest CPU version?
We are already using an overall database report showing space usage, alert log messages, invalid objects and such. The security report should complement this.

-login time detail after business hrs or failed login attempt.

Report scheduling question

I have a couple of ARD users who would like to schedule reporting to their own machines.
Although they are ARD admins, they are not admins of their desktop Macs. All report scheduling options are greyed out for these users, even though 'Full access to all features' is selected in Preferences > Security.
Can only desktop admins (rather than ARD admins) change report scheduling?

Hi Sol
That is correct. The user and responsibility are only used during the session when the user is connected to the database.
Whenever a scheduled workbook is run in an APPS-mode environment the user running it will be APPS. This user is a database user and does not log in with a responsibility therefore the FND_GLOBAL.RESP_ID will not be set.

Report Schedules after downtime

Hello everyone,
I am Running BO XI3.1 sp3. If I have 1 report scheduled to run daily at x time and I take the SIA (which governs my CMS) down for 2 days. When the CMS comes back online, will the CMS & the report scheduler process the report to run two times or will it just run once to catch up?
Example:
Report XYZ set to run on Su, M, Tu, W, Th, F, Sa.
SIA/CMS offline for F, Sa
SIA/CMS online on Su.
Will the CMS & Report scheduler process 2 instances of report XYZ or will I just have 1 report?

You will not get instances of friday and saturday.
You will get an instance on the day your cms starts.

When I said develop I meant a custom ABAP report with the help of Developers. You can also try option of developing a ABAP query by using table BSID, but this may be difficult if the requirement is to list multiple days as columns (seven days as seven columns). I am assuming the Customer numbers will be rows in the report.

Well, distribution groups don't really have a concept of "in" or "out". They only serve to distribute messages sent to them -- unless you're asking to know who was a member of the distribution group at the time a message was sent to the DL.
Message tracking logs hold the information you want, though. You'd have to look for EXPAND events that reference the distribution group and take the sender's e-mail address from that event. If the DL is a simple one that's not a member of any other groups
you could also look for RECEIVE events sent to the e-mail address of the group and get the sender's name from that event.
You can use Powershell extract the rows of data from the logs, but you'll have to write the code to get the data out of those rows and into a format you want. Perhaps LogParser could be useful in place of Powershell?

Error on open the Report Schedule Page from other application

Hi,
I want to open the only "Report Schedule Page" of the InfoView from my application. For this I am using the following url -
http://servername:8080/businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/InfoView/CrystalEnterprise_Report/schedule/get.do?objId=526
The problem I am facing is that sometime the Report Schedule Page open successfully and sometimes it gives the following error -
HTTP Status 400 - Invalid path /InfoView/InfoView/logon/logon was requested
type Status report
message Invalid path /InfoView/InfoView/logon/logon was requested
description The request sent by the client was syntactically incorrect (Invalid path /InfoView/InfoView/logon/logon was requested).
Apache Tomcat/5.0.27
Please help me in resolving this issue?

Hi,
first of all it is neither supported nor recommended to embed or call single components or pages of InfoView in other applications. You would have to write your own schedule page using the BO SDK.
The problem you are facing looks like the component you are calling does not get or find a valid session to the BOE system in the desired place. But even if it would (sometimes you are seeing that) I doubt that it would work to schedule a report using this mechanism as the further requests when pressing the OK button will call other parts of InfoView then, which will probably cause other problems. So try to use another solution as stated above.

Error while exporting security report to Excel

We are using SAP BPC 7.5 MS sp07 version
In our application , particular user is unable to download/export the User security report to Excel.
I am able to do it successfully.
User encounters following error:
Unable to download …ed.ReportViewerWebControl.axd from servername.com
Unable to open this internet side. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found.
Please try again later.

How to add "Team leader" field in standard BPC security report

BPC Expert,
We are using BPC MS 5.0 version.
There is a checkbox in the security setup to make someone a "Team Leader" when you add him/her to a team and this checkbox determines who can post data and who cannot. When we run the user report we see which team the user is in but we do not have visibility to whether or not they are a "Team Leader" which is what business owner needs to see to approve user access.
I figured out "dbo.userteamassign" is the table which hold team leader value. Can anyone please tell me all the steps of adding team leader field in the standard BPC 5.0 security report.

Thanks for the response. I know associated steps to declare business user as a team leader but my original question is "how to add a column in standard BPC security report that says who is team leader or who is not".
Do you know the Dtx package that is responsible to supply the data to Standard BPC security report? We can enhance standard data package to pull/display extra "Team leader" column in standard security report.
