Security Requirements Template for BOE XI3.1
I'm looking for the "Security Requirements Template" document, a template that can be used to setup a content plan in BOE XI3.1.
It is an Excel document, that shows by application the possible rights.
Hans - you're probably referring to Dwayne Hoffpauir's 2008 GBN User Conference presentation - it's really helped me set up our security for XI 3.1.

Request MDX syntax for BOE XI3.0 and SAP BI7
Hi,
Does anyone know that where I can find a document to specify the MDX syntax that can be used for BOE XI3.0 and SAP BI7?
I found a related topic on:
Resources for customizing SAP Universe objects with MDX
But after go through the above thread, the feeling is that we can only get the answer by testing each of the syntax.
Could anyone share any ideas to this topic?
Thanks and regards
noraHi Ingo,
Here is the example that customer gave:
Per you request, a real example. The following objects were created,
when an universe was set up against a BEx Query:
Notation A: [0LOCNOTA].[LEVEL01].[20LOCNOTA].[Value]
Notation B: [0LOCNOTB].[LEVEL01].[20LOCNOTB].[Value]
Notation C: [0LOCNOTC].[LEVEL01].[20LOCNOTC].[Value]
Notation D: [0LOCNOTD].[LEVEL01].[20LOCNOTD].[Value]
User Status: [0LOCUSTA].[LEVEL01].[20LOCUSTA].[Value]
Want to be able to create an object, CFact, defined in the universe as
(shown in Oracle syntax here, but of course we have a SAP OLAP
universe thus our request for a MDX syntax for BO and SAP BW/BEx Query):
decode([0LOCNOTA].[LEVEL01].[20LOCNOTA].[Value],'Y','FAIL;','')
||decode([0LOCNOTB].[LEVEL01].[20LOCNOTB].[Value],'Y','CDMN;','')
||decode([0LOCNOTC].[LEVEL01].[20LOCNOTC].[Value],'Y','BSFR;','')
||decode([0LOCNOTD].[LEVEL01].[20LOCNOTD].[Value],'Y','ERR;','')
||substr([0LOCUSTA].[LEVEL01].[20LOCUSTA].[Value],1,4)
Say, if values for the objects are 'Y', 'N', 'Y', 'N',
and 'INACESSIBLE', respectively, CFact would have the data
FAIL;BSFR;INAC
Hope the above provides you with enough detail.
thanks and regards

Consider the Police Case study and identify 3 security requirements. For each of these security requirements:
• Discuss the necessity for the feature and how it will be implemented;
• Implement code for your security feature;
• Demonstrate, discuss, testing of the security feature.
what types of security features available on oracle? I found sql to sql and access grant/revoke.....but I do not understand what sql to sql does?

Hardware requirements for BOE XI 3.1
Hello,
I am looking for the hardware requirements to install BOE XI 3.1, but could not find any information in Installation guide as well as deployment guide.
The information given is something like below, but if I click the link it will be redirected to SAP service market place.
================================================
System requirements
For a detailed list of supported environments and hardware requirements,
consult the Products Availability Report (PAR) document available on the
Business Objects support site http://support.businessobjects.com/documen
tation/supported_platforms. This document includes specific version and
patch-level requirements for web application servers, web browsers, and
operating systems. For information related to the planning of a
BusinessObjects Enterprise deployment, consult the BusinessObjects
Enterprise Planning Guide.
================================================
Where can I get the correct document?
Thank you in advanced!
rgs,
HiroshiHi,
go to [http://service.sap.com/bosap-support] and navigate to Documentation->Supported Platforms->BusinessObjects XI 3.1
Keep in mind that what you see there are the minimum HW requirements. And if you are planing on deploying BOBJ on a virtual machine, make sure that it gets enough CPU and RAM and that the disk I/O on the host has a decent throughput.

Technical specification template for WebDynpro development required
Dear All,
Can you please provide any pointer to SAP provided technical specification templates for WebDynpro development.
Thanks and regards,
SudhirHi Sudhir
Does that mean you got the documents you were looking for?
I too am looking for sample documents and/or templates for Technical Specification for WebDynpro (Java) Application but was not able to find any.
If you have them will you please forward them to me?
If you can share a tech spec done for a real project (or even a sample one) along with any such documents, I'd much appreciate it as I'm new to the technology. I still have to find my way around these..... :o)
Thanks in advance. -
Ok, this is a bit off topic, but let me put this up:
1. On a windows 7 with the latest Java, I am accessing a Java page
http://nlvm.usu.edu/en/nav/frames_asid_190_g_1_t_1.html
2. This page doesn't have a trusted certificate, as its an educational purpose one, anyway, I get the message :
"Your security settings have blocked an untrusted application from running."
3. Referring to : http://www.java.com/en/download/help/appsecuritydialogs.xml : I can as a Admnistrative user go in and goto Control Panel, Get to Java (32-bit) and open it up
Then I can go to Security and add the exception there.
My issue is with users who are non-administrators.
So I would like to know if anyone else has had a similar requirement where they had to do something in the Java Control Panel and used an ADM template, one they created or one available somewhere to configure it globally.
Regards,
Ramu
Ramu V RamananHi,
try a web search.....
http://www.bing.com/search?q=admx files or java RT
you can write your own admix files for the Java RT settings or usually the software vendor offers a template for corporate users.
or you could use procmon.exe to monitor which registry keys are changed by the java RT security console.
Regards.

Template for reviewing new transactions.
Hello,
I need a way to track new Z transactions as they are created, to ensure that they are reviewed for potential SOD issues and, if needed, added into Virsa.
Can someone point me to a document that I can use as a template for this?Hi Michael,
There is no pre-defined document for tracking the custom transaction built. However, with my expertise in dealing the custom transaction codes, below are some of the tips:
Checklist:
1. Ensure that the AUTHORITY CHECK statement is included in the custom tcode - The AUTHORITY CHECK statement can be used to restrict the authorization to a specific plant/company code.
2. If the tcode is a table maintenance tcode, ensure that S_TABU_DIS is tagged to the authorization data in SU24 with authorization to the required table authorization group. If you are on the latest stack, you may use S_TABU_NAM using which the tablename can be maintained directly.
3. Look for the code for any tcodes that are called internally using CALL TCODE funtion. In such case, the authorization objects that are maintained for the call tcode, should be maintained for the Z tcode too.
Template should contain:
1. The SOD analysis at Permission Level & Action level.
2. The Role owner information.
3. Incase of any risks, the Control Objective and how it should be applied.
4. Risk Monitor and Mitigation Control Owner Information.
5. Business process to which the risk should belong to.
6. Management approver information of the business process.
Also, the function ID and the Risk IDs should be either mentioned in the template or should the Security team have a predefined processes in naming the IDs.
Do let me know if I can further assist you!!

Need to create custom offer letter templates for irec offer letters
Hi All,
I am trying to create a custom template for irec offer letters. The additional fields I require in the offer letter are configured as DFF on the Irec page. Steps I followed to create a custom template:
1.Created a custom rtf and used tag names as specified in the standard "IRCESOLDD_SD.xml" file for the additonally configured DFF fields.
2.Created a new template definiton and used the standard data definiton "iRecruitment Offer Letter Data" as reference while creating my template definiton.
3.Associated this custom template to the required business group.
But while navigating the irec page I get an error like below:

DivyaHi Divya,
When ever you will get exception with SQL statement just copy that statement to SQL editor and run the parameter.
that statement will give you proper error which you can understand
Check the below statement for your environment and check your offer letter territory and language if you can found out into the output of the below query.
Query :-
SELECT *
FROM (SELECT DISTINCT
tmpl.language
|| DECODE (tmpl.territory, '00', NULL, '-' || tmpl.territory)
template_locale,
la.name
|| ':'
|| DECODE (tmpl.territory, '00', NULL, te.territory_short_name)
|| DECODE (tmpl.language,
tb.default_language,
DECODE (tmpl.territory,
tb.default_territory, ' (*)',
NULL),
NULL
name,
DECODE (tmpl.language,
tb.default_language,
DECODE (tmpl.territory, tb.default_territory, 1, 2),
2
sort_order
FROM xdo_lobs tmpl,
fnd_iso_languages_vl la,
fnd_territories_vl te,
xdo_templates_b tb
WHERE
-- tmpl.application_short_name = :1
-- AND tmpl.lob_code = :2
-- AND
tmpl.lob_code = tb.template_code
AND tmpl.lob_type IN ('TEMPLATE', 'MLS_TEMPLATE')
AND tmpl.file_status = 'E'
AND LOWER (tmpl.language) = la.iso_language_2
AND UPPER (tmpl.territory) = te.territory_code(+)
ORDER BY tmpl.language

How to use one WAD template for all the available queries
Hi,
I have created a WAD template... Now we have close to 25 queries which will use that template for displaying their output at Portal...
Is there any way that i don`t have to create multiple copies of my WAD template...
I.e. all queries would call that same template through portal...Hi,
The Bex report uses the Standard Template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN while it is executed.
So if your sure that the look and feel of all the Reports is going to remain same, you don't need to even attach all these Queries to Templates in WAD.
When you execute the BEx query, it would pick up the standard template and run it in portal.
But if you want to customize the Report Template:
1) You can change this standard template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN and customize it according to ur requrement in WAD.
2) Or you can create a copy of this standard template and change it as required. Then change the template in spro (transaction RSCUSTV27) to point to this Z template.
Let me know if you need more details.

Row Level Security not working for SAP R/3
Hi Guys
We have an environment where the details are as mentioned below:
1. Crystal Reports are created using Open SQL driver to extract data from SAP R/3 using the SAP Integration Kit.
2. The SAP roles are imported in Business Objects CMC.
3. Crystal Reports are published on the Enterprise as well.
3. Authorization objects are created in SAP R/3 and added as required for the row level security as mentioned in the SAP Installation guide as well. The aim is when the user logs into the Infoview and refreshes the report he should only see data that he is meant to so through the authorization objects.The data security works very much fine when the reports are designed directly on the table but when the reports are built on the Business View it doesnt work hence the user is able to see all data.
Any help in this issue is greatly appreciated.
Thanks and Regards
KamalHi,
In order for row level security to work for you using the OpenSql driver, you need to configure the Security Definition Editor on your SAP server. This is a server side tool which the Integration solution for SAP offers as a transport.
This tool defined which tables are to be restricted based on authorizations.
However since you are seeing the issue on reports based on Business Views, you need to identify whether the Business View is configured in such a way where the user refreshing the report is based on the user logging into Infoview. If the connection to your SAP server is always established with the same user when BV is used then you security definition is pointless.
You can confirm this by tracing your SAP server to identify what user is being used to logon to SAP to refresh the reports.
thanks

How to use myself JSP template for my projects
I am using JDev 10. .I realized the default templates of JSP in JDev don't match with my projects so I want to create my own template for JSP Pages. I read some threads in Forum about this problem but I am a beginner, I cannot understand fully and don't know the way to create template nor adding it into Project. Someone can tell me where I can find the tutorials, examples(demo).

Reg, Template for a New Project
Hello,
Will anyone can guide me to create a Template for SD Module. If anyone can send an URL / doc, that will help me a lot.
[email protected]Hi Rao,
The ASAP Methodology has five phases:
1. Project Preparation project formally initiated and planning well under way.
2. Business Blueprint project team gathers requirements and conducts conceptual design of the solution.
3. Realization system solution is built and integration tested, end users trained
4. Final Preparation final check before cut over to new system solution
5. Go Live & Support solution confirmation, on-going support in place and project closing

As the title says, I have a new Windows 8.1 based device which I'm trying to connect to my Exchange 2010 box (SP3 Update Rollup 2). I currently have my iphone set up as an EAS client with no problems. I have an EAS policy on my mailbox
with the following settings surrounding passwords :
Require Password, Require Encryption, Allow Simple Password, Time without user input - 10 minutes. Allow non-provisional devices is also checked.
The Windows 8.1 device has Bitlocker enabled, which meets the encryption requirement - I know this because the 1st time I tried this it moaned about Bitlocker needing to be enabled to meet requirements, though at that time the local user account on the Windows
8.1 device was an admin level account so it never mentioned this issue, it worked normally.
Now, while using a std user account on the Windows 8.1 device and trying to connect up via EAS, it complains that my local windows user account must be an ADMIN level account to meet the security requirements...?
Anyone encountered this?Did anyone solve this problem? I'm also struggling with this issue.
this is still a problem. I'm just hitting it now and it's not doing much for management's love of Microsoft devices.
Evidently, it has to be an admin to set the policies on the device to match the policies on the EAS. And once set, a user can be changed back.
But this is seriously not cool. Don't the "app" folks and the enterprise folks talk to each other?
