Security vs calculation

Hi,
I had this post on essbase forum, but I thought I should post it here as this is planning application and I am using rule for my calculation.
I am having a situation which works exactly the way what I need if I restrict the calculation only to go through the members assigned to the users when the users launch the script. But, in my test it is not doing that. I have a scripts that covers few users (in fix) and assigned that for all of them. But every time one user running the script it is calculating the members which he is not having any access and causing some numbers mismatch issue. Is there any way we can restrict the calc to run only for the assigned members to the users. I tried to use some prompts and still it is not doing it right.
Also can I fix a slice of dimension and use 'AGG' on the same dimension to aggregate that slice only. I mean I only want to aggregate some hierarchies in the same dimension?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
KK

Hi,
For partial aggregation, also check out this post:
Re: More efficient aggregation rule
As Ahmet said, rules are run as admin on Essbase server. However, by cleverly using variables in your Fix you can limit the calculation specifically to the members your users have access to. Why it's not working the way it should is another question, sending your script might be more helpful to get a precise answer.

  • How To stop the Security Deposited Calculation at the time of move out.

    Hi Guys,
I am working on this issue from last week still unable to stop the calculation of SD in Final bill at the time of Move out, i have blocked the main and sub transaction, any help will be appreciated as early as possible, this issue has to be solved on weekend.
    Regards
    K. Shilpa

    Hi Shilpa,
First thing I will say that if you reverse an actual payment from customer's account, there are many impacts on the customer side and on SAP side. I think you have already taken care all these things.
Now for the first point if you want the open SD will not appear in the print document, you can do it by reversing the security deposit or by invoicing printing configuration. For the first option you can go to change security deposit (FPSEC2) and reverse it. To do this all the SD documents should be in open status.
For the second option you can go to the following menu path:
    SPRO-SAP Utilities-Invoicing-Invoice Processing-Item Selection in Invoicing-Item Selection in Account Maintenance/ Define Sub-Items
In the above menu path for clearing type R4 (Invoicing) and periodic billing (R41),  you can control the items which will be printed in the invoice. Select the clearing type and click on the 'Item selection on bill print out' on the left hand side. For the clearing category (maintained at contract account level) you can maintain the main and sub transaction of security deposit (might be 0020 / 0020) and you can see a field 'IP' (Item Will Be Printed on the Bill) where you should maintain it blank. If you do that, security deposit will not be picked up in the invoice document. However it will remain open in the account if you just stop the printing of SD and keep it in the account.
However it totally depnds on the business requirement and related implications whether you want to reverse the SD or you want to keep this in account and do not want to show them on the bill.
Now for the second point you have mentioned, you need to first decide what you will do with the SD payments made by customer.
Either you can release the SD amount and refund it to customer or the amount can be adjusted with the next invoice. Again it depends on business requirement whether you will refund any payment made against SD or you will simply reverse all open security deposits.
Also if you want to stop the SD creation process now onwards, you need to revert all SD configuration like main / sub transaction configuration for SD, default SD releted settings etc. There is no standard process for it. If you want to reverse the SD, you can write a custom program. The configuration related things need to be done manually.
Since all the things will impact the business process or customer, I hope you will take care those things before coming to a conclusion.
    Thanks.

  • Updating Business Rule access and security

    Hi All,
We have recently load balanced the planning servers, as a part of this currently we have to update "Location" and "Acces Privileges" tabs to reflect "All Locations".
There are hundreds of business rules for us across all servers. I was hoping if there is an automated or maxl way of updating access for business rules rather than manually pulling all the groups in each business rule.
    any thoughts on this.
    Thank you
    Arun

    Hi john,
    Thanks .It works fine....
    I have another question.
I have some calculationscripts along with this business rule.I m not able to find out a option to launch a calculation script from the planning application.
    I m logging in as User1(Planner).
do I need to add security for calculation script?
I didn't get any option to add security to calculation scripts in eas?
    Plz help
    Thanks

  • Tax Procedure in India

    Hi All,
There is a requirement  to changes in taxes for Indian states  Kerala & Gujarat.  Post India Budget 2008-2009, the state governments have proposed a few changes to the taxes . There has been a requirement from the State Governments of Kerala and Gujarat, for imposing Social Security Cess  on VAT( kerala)  & Additional tax( Gujarat) on Base amount  applicable from 1st April 2008 and . The details of the same are as below:
As per clause 6 the Kerala Finance Bill, 2008, a Social Security Cess has been imposed on
at the rate of 1% on VAT Payable.
In the State of Gujarat,  Here are the changes as per the Bill. As per the Bill the total tax including additional tax, in case of goods attracting 4% will be 4% VAT + 1% Additional Tax and therefore total tax will be 5%. In case of goods attracting 12.5% the rate would be 12.5% VAT + 2.5% Additional Tax and therefore total tax would be 15%.
To meet this requirement at FI side following is been carried out:
    1.     Two new conditions will be added to the Tax procedure( TAXINJ):
    a.     ZSSC u2013 Itu2019s a new condition proposed for Kerala tax changes which represents the Social Security Cess calculating on VAT in Kerala. This will be applied on VAT (JIP5). This new condition needs be added in the Pricing procedure from PUR.
This ZSSC tax condition which will be created in FI will post to G/L account -1337027.
    b.     ZADT u2013 Its new condition proposed for Gujarat Additional tax. This will be applied on the value on which VAT (JIP5) is calculated. This new condition needs be added in the Pricing procedure from PUR.
This ZADT tax condition which will be created in FI will post to G/L account -1337032.
      3.   Tax codes needs to be created for respective states. Respective changes needs to be done in pricing procedure by PUR.
My question is what need to be done at Purchasing level for Input tax. All I understand is we need to do  the testing once tax code is changed.  There is no Change at Pricing Procedure level at Purchasing. Please advice what all should be covered in testing ? Do I need to cover all purchasing documents and PO processes like consignment, Subcontracting, Contract,SA etc,
    Thanks.
    Shalini

    Hi,
If u modified  the TAXINJ procedure as per the requirement means .
on which amount VAT @ kerala state needs to be calculated?
on which amount VAT @ Gujarat state needs to be calculated?
this is importent from TAXINJ procedure point of view.
    Secondly ,
In TAXINJ Tax code is important u should have diff tax code (u allready have it)
    Testing point of view:
U should run a domestic procurement cycle and check the account enties at the time of MIGO & MIRO (important).
I think this would be enough.

    SNB

  • Securities

    Hii Experts,
In Securities Module , I am using the valuation of securities on the basis of  Portfolio, that means that my profit & loss is calculated on weighted avg on the basis of portfolio. Now there is new requirement to get the profit & loss on weighted avg on the basis of entity(co Code ) wise. Can i use both these simultaneously or  Can i generate a report where the Profit 7 loss for security is calculated on the basis of Co Code(weighted avg).
    regards
    Saurabh gupta

    Hi,
When you define a new valuation area, you have to initialize it i.e. to transfer existing data into this valuation area as of the initialization date. This you can do in the IMG step TRM -- Transaction Manager -- General Settings -- accounting -- Organization
In this you have to initialize your valuation area for your product group like securities for the start date from which you want this VA to be functional.

    Hi,
I have configured the special GL Indicator H and i received the amount against the Indicator H against the Customer. Now i want to calculate the Interest on Security deposit.

    2. Same customer is applicable for open item interest.

    Dear Sriram,
    It is possible:-
1.You have to create Interest Calculation Type for Customer SD Int Calculation say (R1)
2.Go to OBAA and maintain R1 there.
    3.Go to Prepare Sp GL Transaction Interest Calculation (Maintain R1 - D - H - R1
4.In OBAC Maintain R1and select from date
    5. Define Time dependant interest terms
6.In OB83 define the rate of interest
7.Go to OBV3 and maintain Account Determination for Int Posting (Select Account Symbol for Posting Key and again Assign GL code to same Account Symbol)
    8. Maintain R1 in the Customer master to whom Interest will be payable.
Then Run Interest calculation posting T Code:-f.52

  • Calculation of Interest on Security Deposits Maintained with Vendors

    Hi Friends,
We have some problem on Line Item Interest calculation.
We want to calculate Interest on Security Deposits(Spl GL) given to Vendors.
There is no Interest on Normal Items.
When we run Interest (f.47) it not calculating on cleared items eventhough we select interest for all items.
    Example:
We paid Deposit on 01.01.2007 an amount of $10000
We recieved back total amount of Deposit($10000) on 15.02.2007
and when we run interest run (f.47) its not calculating any interest.
But we want to calculate interest for the period  the deposit outstanding i.e. from 01.01.2007 to 14.02.2007.
Can any one help us in this regards,
    Thanks in Advance,

    Hi
You may like to check the config from the below angles :
    1) interest payment is produced if the credit interest (because of interest calculated on items paid before the due date) is greater than the debit interest.
    2) Calculate interest on items paid before due date
Indicator which means that credit interest is calculated for items paid prior to their due date, provided that the item paid was not subject to a cash discount. Interest is calculated using credit interest rates.
    Note
The system calculates credit interest only on those clearing transactions where all payments were made before the due date. If you do not select this option for those transactions then the items are ignored.
This option has no effect in the case of clearing transactions where payments are made both before and after the due date. For transactions such as these, interest is always calculated on the basis of debit interest.
For partial payments and down payment offsetting items that are made before the due date of the invoice, interest is calculated from the document date if this indicator is set. If it is not set, interest is calculated from the due date of the invoice.
    3) Calculate Interest as of Due Date for Net Payment
Indicator which means that interest is calculated as of the due date for net payment; otherwise, you pay interest as of the settlement period lower limit (if the due date for net payment is before it) or as of the date of the last (according to the master record) interest caluclation (if the corresponding parameter is set).

  • Interest calculation on secured loans

    Hi guys,
I have a customer invoice at 1000 rs after that i have been paid to customer for 5000 rs. The difference amount of 4000 rs (5000 - 1000 ) we have considered as a secured loan. So how can i calculated the interest on the 4000 rs only.
Please let me know the configuration steps with documentation.
    Thanks
    Ram

    HEllo!
In the report RFINTITAR, you use the interest indicator customizing:
IMG   > Prepare Item Interest Calculation   > Ref. Date
    (table V_T056UX)   >  field Ref.
(FI Item Interest Calculation: Reference Date)
You have the possibility to define what You need to be considered as
incoming payment due date, choosing between:
1 Value Date (or Baseline Date for Net Payment)
    2 Document Date
    3 Posting Date
    4 Payment Baseline Date
As you can use one interest indicator per customer/vendor you can use only of the dates is used. But, in this
program you can use the BADI FI_INT_CUS01. Please, check if you can meet your business requirements using the methods
    of the BADI.

  • FICA - Security deposit interest calculation

    Hi,
Currently our system calculates interests on deposit applied items up to it's clearing date i.e. interest gets calculated until deposit is returned to the customer. However we want calculate interest only until the date deposit is released. In order to do so, we need to track deposit release date. Does anyone know how can we track deposit release date or how can we make system calculate interest only up to the date deposit is released and not up to the date when deposit is returned?
Note - We usually perform annual mass interest runs in our system. So deposits get considered for interest calculations long after they are released and returned.
    Thanks,
    Amol

    Hi Amol,
    You can use FM FKK_DB_CASH_SECURITY_STATUS_GP.
Pass your SD no in  X_Security to derive the status from Y_STATUS_TXT.
If paid, from TY_FKKOP_REQ, AUGBL display the Returned date.
    Hope this helps

  • Calculate interest on Security Deposit at the time of invoice?

    Dear All,
I have a requirement of calculating interest at the time of invoicing.
I did the following configuration in spro:
SAP Utilities ->Invoicing->Invoice Processing->Define Control for additional invoicing functions
I clicked at the Int:Cash Security Deposit button.
But when I execute transaction EA10 (Creating invoice) , interest is not calculated on the security deposit.
All the configuration w.r.t interest calculation is correct.
Please let me know if anybody has any solution to this.
    Warm regards,
    Rahul

    Hi Rahul,
To calculate interest on any line item, we have to assign a interest key to it.
Take the FICA document created for Security Deposit and open it into FPE2 and goto change document:Item and then click on Tab Dunn. Data. Provide the interest key over here and then RUN your invoicing.
    Regards,
    Gaurav.
