Security warning claims invalid site when I attempt refresh. It uses outdated firefox component from Jan 2003.

Tech details at end of this narrative:
As you can see, Firefox is using an old piece of software not aware it is the one out of date, not the current certificate which it discovers is too far in the future. Accepting this puts me at risk as it may relate to the odd fact that a man called this morning that I did not know before saying he received email from me about the product I am now preparing to market. That was great - but, he received a message from me that I did not send and said he called my number expecting to hear a 15 minute recording I do not have set up. On occasion, including a few weeks ago, I have received email with my own address as if it was sent to me by someone with my identical address. If I push through this warning, it appears I am at risk of authorizing someone else access to my computer from a separate location. If so, with such persons advanced knowledge, I could lose access at times to my own online ID - for banking, etc, while such person cleans out my accounts. My Firefox software recently offered and I accepted an upgrade. Please assist me in getting the old security piece of softwar removed and I'd like to know what else may be suggested if anything. Thanks a million. Michael

Pease dont' waste your time with that useless article. Carolyn has been warned many times before to stop posting that and waisting people's time.
This error is a little generic at times and there are a few things that could be happening here. Please put in a ticket here for an advisor to check into details:

When I print to PDF using Acrobat 11 Pro from any application the acrobat Reader does not launch automatically. Associations are correct. Happens from Chrome, IE, Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Previously had deskPDF installed but uninstalled correctly. Can't find a preference setting for the auto launch. Thx for your help,  Bruce

A simple way is to flatten the form fields, which converts the field appearances to regular page contents. You can do this with JavaScript or PDF Optimizer (Advanced > PDF Optimizer > Discard Objects > Flatten form fields). A very nice script that adds a custom menu item can be found here: http://www.uvsar.com/projects/acrobat/flattener/

  • WHEN I OPEN ANYTHNG THAT USES JAVA FIREFOX CRASHES

I use Firefox mainly for Tazareo.com. I have 2 screens so I have Taza open for information and adding data into that system. My problem is that I cannot download anything to taza and when I try it crashes and takes firefox with it. I have contacted Taza and they said it was not on their end. My IT guy has no clue and I really need to download and upload from my computer. My work load is increasing and I need to get this problem corrected. I know nothing about computers ( I was born about the time they were being invented) So if you could give me a step by step instructions on what might be the problem, I could hopefully fix this problem. I even went into a site that was suggested on Firefox to see if Java could troubleshoot and it crashed on that site.

  • How do I disable the "Security Warning" - encrpted script message when I log in to a website using https ? If I cannot get the website owner to change it's code

    ''dupe of https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1027400 - locking''
Whenever I log onto a website via https, I get this message and am unable to have Firefox save my password for the website.
Another user asked this question and it was answered, however, the user was asking in the context of his own website where he was able to change the code.
I am unable to change the code for this website but would like to disable this message and have Firefox remember my password for the user id I type in.
Whenever I log onto a website via https (including my website), I get this message:
Although this page is encrypted, the information you have entered is to be sent over an unencrypted connection and could easily be read by a third party. Are you sure you want to continue sending this information? This is followed below with two boxes, "continue" and "cancel".
In order to connect with the website, I must click on "continue" each time I log onto the website. HOW do I permanently DISABLE this message?
    Chosen solution
Firefox gives that error because the page is on HTTPS but your form action is HTTP:
    <form action="http://eclipse69forum.com/index.php?app=core&module=global&section=login&do=process" method="post" id="login">
Can you change that to HTTPS?

There is a disconnect here: if the form is being submitted securely, then you would not get that message. So although you may be looking at an HTTPS address in the address bar, Firefox is warning you that your username and password are going to an HTTP address and being transmitted in the clear rather than being protected.
That's definitely not the normal way to set up a login page. Do you want to give the URL of the problem login page to get specific comments? Without knowing more, it sounds as though it isn't designed for secure logins and you may be wasting your time accessing their login form using HTTPS.
Anyway, to answer your question, I don't think there is a way to disable that warning.

  • How do I stop the stupid security warning everyone is talking about? I am very dissappointed with Firefox, I mean Chromefox! It now sucks!

    I guess since I can't disable the security warnings in Firefox 30, I mean Chromefox, yes that's exactly what it is now, I am going to can Firefox until they decide to get with the program! This message pops up with just about everything so no point in asking stupid questions back like what sites, or coming up with some dumb fix that must be enabled on every site in the world! Mozilla really dropped the ball lately and should be ashamed of them selves! Firefox used to be my favorite browser because they were different! Now I see no point in having it at all! May as well just use Google Chrome! I mean after all why use a cheap substitute when you can have the real thing? Mozilla has become a joke now! Lets see what type of dumb answers come up with this post! Bet they will be " You don't want to do that" " What sites are you having problems with" This is a clean computer with clean OS and fresh install of Chromefox! You know what they say, if it looks like a duck, sound like a duck and acts like a duck, then it must be a duck! :{

    Hi,
The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.
If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox ''Help'' menu and select ''Submit Feedback...'' or use [https://input.mozilla.org/feedback this link]. Your feedback gets collected at http://input.mozilla.org/, where a team of people read it and gather data about the most common issues.
    Wrong place to try.
I am sorry but Firefox 29 / Australis Development, and design policy decisions are again off topic on this forum. (We did initially temporarily suspend that forum policy so that people had a chance to say something)
I am sorry but we are only fellow users of Firefox there are no Developers here to see or answer these questions. It only diverts attention and effort from trying to help users with problems.
Please See for example a long recently closed thread.
    * ''The I-do-not-like-Firefox-29-layout topic'' [/questions/998106]
    That thread includes
    *A quote of a developer's comment,
    * Suggestions of where you may discuss this, or post feedback
*Helpful information for those with problems from the Firefox 29 changes
    * An extract of current forum rules
If you need help and wish to continue using the current Release of Firefox please post another question making that clear and we will do our best to help
If you post again it would help to know the exact message you got and possibly a screenshot (Forum software does not permit screen shots on the first post but you could link to a site with the screenshot on)
I will close this thread as off topic.

  • How do I remove a DNS Solution Error?  Sometimes when I do a search using a Firefox browser, this message comes up and it doesn't take me to the site I am looking for.

Sometimes I use Firefox for browsing and when I do a search,  the search engine will not take me to the site but I get a message that says "DNS Solution Error".
I believe it is some kind of malware.  I appreciate any help from anyone who knows how to fix it.

You may have installed a malicious or defective Firefox extension. Remove all extensions that you don't know you need. If in doubt, remove all of them. Otherwise, check the Firefox network settings (not the Network pane in System Preferences) for a proxy server.

  • When I attempt to log-on to Firefox, I get a pop-up box telling me "We noticed you may have signed in or signed out in another window. Click OK to reload your page. How do I fix this?

After I click OK to reload my page, it reloads but it doesn't load to my home page which is www.my.yahoo.com.

Firefox cautions against going to the lengthy trouble of using Safe Mode. Instead, it recommends resetting the browser to its original default settings. On 06/10/2012 the recommendation worked correctly for me. I have opened Firefox a few times and not endured a repetition of the message, "We noticed you may have signed in or signed out in another window. Click OK to reload your page." It takes a matter of seconds:
    Click Help
    Click Troubleshooting Information
    Click Reset Firefox
    Click Reset Firefox

  • What is security central - is it a virus (it pops up saying needed for firefox-coming from you)...google said it is a dangerous virus -- any protection?

Received 3 popups today - indicating that Firefox wanted to install Security Central 137 and Security Central 577 because my computer is unprotected (then a number of trojans and viruses were listed). I didn't buy it, so googled "security central" -- search revealed that security central is a virus.
Is security central OK or not...was that popup from Firefox or Mozilla? If not, is there a fix?

My Avira detect that installer as a virus, beware of it!!!

  • TS1292 I received an iTunes Gift Card in the amt of $15.00.  I redeemed the card on your web site and was informed that my acct now has a $15.00 credit.  When I attempt to purchase songs I am refused saying I have an invalid code.

I received an iTunes Gift Card as a Christmas Present in the amt of #15.00.  I validated it using the code on the card on your web site and was informed I now have a $15.00 credit.  I then attempt to buy music downloads and when I attempt to pay using the code on the gift card I am told it is an invalid code.  Several times I have tried getting the same results.  Since it was a gift I do not have a receipt or know where the card was purchased.  This is very discouraging.  Help please....

  • "Security Warning" dialog box when click script set to Run at Server

I am rendering a PDF form using the renderForm component.  I'm setting the Target URL.  I have a script on a button set to "run at server".  I can render my form in a browser and fill it out, but when I click the button I get a dialog box with a title of "Security Warning".  It says "Acrobat is attempting to connect to [target URL]" with options to Allow or Block.  Is this the expected behaviour for server-side execution of scripts?
I'm thinking that maybe I should just use a submit button instead.  The problem with that though, is that I don't want to run the mandatory field rules and validation rules.  As I understand, you can't submit a form with a submit button unless all the mandatory fields are completed.
Here's the requirement.  I need to have two "submit" buttons.  One checks all the mandatory field rules before submitting a "final" version of the form.  The other button submits a "draft" version without the mandatory checks.  I was hoping that the second button could be implemented as a normal command button with a script that executes server-side.  Sure enough, it attempted to submit without checking the mandatory fields.  Unfortunately I ran into other undesirable side-effects including a distressing "Security Warning" dialog box.
    Ideas?
