Security warning popped up in dreamweaver about flash player

I had the trial version of DW cs4 installed. I purchased CS4 design premium that packages dw, fireworks, flash etc. Last night I instaled it on my computer.
This morning while working in DW I embedded a YouTube video and received this security warning:
Adobe Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation.
The following local application on your computer or network:
C:\Users\Videos\index.html is trying to communicate with this Internet-enabled location:
s.ytimg.com
To let this application communicate with the internet, click settings. You must restart the appthe application after changing your settings.
Does anyone know what this means? Should I allow the communication with s.ytiming.com

This warning is talking about the Flash Global Security Settings Manager. This is not a virus but rather a very common security step related to allowing Flash to connect to the Internet while testing on your local machine. This only occurs during testing on your local machine and does not come into play when that same Flash object is on the Web page on the server.
The Settings Manger allows you to "approve" connecting to the Internet for a particular Flash object.
http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.htm l
So go to the Settings Manager, Click "Edit Locations" or "Add Location" and browse on you computer for the Flash file that you are giving permisssion to connect to the Internet. Each Flash object that attempts to access the Internet will need to be given permission separately.
Kind of a pain... or just upload your Flash to the server and test from there, then it's not an issue.
Best wishes,

    Hi 7absinth49,
You mentioned that you already performed an update with the phone, have you tried doing a reset on the phone itself? If not yet, you can do this one, but make sure that you created first a back up for every files that you have on the phone.

If you are talking about Safari on the iPad, there is no version of Adobe Flash for iOS and there never has been. Clear Safari, close the app and reset the iPad.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If you are talking about Safari on your Mac, you are in the wrong forum. But I would still clear the cache, quit Safari and restart the Mac.

  • I have recently purchased my I PAD2 and would like to know about  flash player

I have recently purchased my I pad and would like to know about Flash Player  and  what to download if any
    thanks

Skyfire web browser is the most popular app that will allow you to view Flash content on many, but not all websites.  iOS devices don't support Flash natively due to stability and battery drain issues.  It's agood move overall, and most websites send HTML5 content to iOS devices.  But the transition isnt complete, so you'll still find that you can't view video on some sites.
Flash based games are pretty much out.

  • Issue with IE Security Warning box about Flash Player

Recently upgraded to Flash Player 11.8 on a Win7 x64 system with IE9. Am now having a IE Security warning box pop up repeatedly saying Flasher Player wants to open Web Content. If I Allow, it is an endless loop with the warning box. If I Don't Allow, it eventually stops popping up after 3-4 times. Need to know if there is an issue with Flash Player or if there may be something else going on in my computer. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, I am not a whiz, but manage.

You can either lower the security settings of Internet Explorer, or - easier - download the executable installer from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
P.S. note that no browser windows must be open when running the installer.

  • Security warning pop up

How do I stop the security warning window from popping up every time I go to a web page?  It says " Do you want to view only the web page content that was delivered securely?"
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If you use Internet Explorer on a recent computer, see this page.
Fixing the ‘Do you want to display nonsecure items’ message
When you post here, it's best to tell us which computer you have. See the label on the bottom.
If the problem involves the web, best to tell which browser you use and its version as well.

  • Warning About Flash Player for Safari?

Is there any truth about the warning about the Flash Player causing crashes and leaving your system open to attacks?
The one they say is the problem is 10.22.87?

Yes, and Adobe released a new version yesterday that fixes the problem. There's also a new version of Acrobat Reader that fixes the same vulnerability. The new version of Flash Player is 10.0.32.18 and the new version of Acrobat Reader is 9.1.3. You can get them directly from Adobe or visit a site like Versiontracker or MacUpdate.

  • Need to contact adobe about flash player

Can't seem to find any way of contacting adobe directly, anyone have a support link directly to them or is there a mod that can contact me please? I already attempted a thread about my issue but I'm not seeming to get any hits or replies on it. NEED HELP!!!

Samsing was just "Passing the buck". Adobe can't and won't do anything about it because Android (not Adobe) droped ALL support of Flash last Summer (June 2012). Adobe is no longer putting time and money into developing Flash for an OS that's incompatible with it.
The following is from a chat I had with Samsung Support (07/31/2013) regarding this:
"Beginning August 15, 2012 we will use the configuration settings in the Google Play Store to limit continued access to Flash Player updates to only those devices that have Flash Player already installed. Devices that do not have Flash Player already installed are increasingly likely to be incompatible with Flash Player and will no longer be able to install it from the Google Play Store after August 15th, 2012."
Android recommends "Dolphin" as the preferred browser to view Flash content with Android mobile devices.

  • Windows 7 internet security will not allow the installation of Flash Player 17 Update

Windows 7 internet security will not allow the installation of the Flash Player 17 update.  I have tried the direct install using the IE_AX update without success.

    Hi,
Thanks for the screenshot.  It's very helpful. Essentially, this is an issue with the internet security settings on your machine (Internet Explorer > Internet Options > Security), and not a Flash Player issue.  I Googled "internet security settings prevented one or more files from opening' and it returned numerous hits.  I'm posting a few for you, however, I'm not endorsing any of them.  I recommend you search your self and select one you feel comfortable with.

  • I have a question about flash player not working.

I have downloaded and installed both the adobe flash and shochwave players on both my computer. When on a page that requires a flash player I get the message to install adobe flash player. Under computer; program files neither show as being installed just adobe reader and adobe help show. Now under the control panel under Programs and Features the shockwave does show but not the flash player 10. I have a desk top running XP Pro 32 bit. and a laptop running vista 32 bit. I have tried differnt things from the support page nothing there seems to work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the programs seveal times.  I did have adobe 8 before which worked fine on my desktop but have been unable to find it to download. Could someone help me to get them to work. Any help would be wonderful, thank you. Patches_11

I am using IE 8 for a broswer.
No I can see no animation on the site you sent.
under the folder C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash is the following 2 files

  • Question about Flash Player Installer

I downloaded the Adobe Flash Player installer on my Mac -- OS Mavericks.  The installer will not accept my password to install the update.  Gives the message "changed password"  I went to Adobe and changed my password, but the installer still will not accept the password or begin the installation.

    Hi Jean,
The password being requested is not your AdobeID password.  This is your computer's password, what you use to log into your account.  Please see What userid & password do I need to install Flash Player? for more information.

  • Why did you ignore my post about Flash Player failing to register its ActiveX Control?

Three days ago I submitted a precisely-worded description of a persistent installation problem:  Every time I attempt to download and install Flash Player V. 16 on my laptop running Windows Vista 64 bit and IE 9, the download completes successfully, but at the end of installation, a dialog box gives this message
    "ActiveX Control failed to register."
I presume that your installation software was unable to write something into the Windows Registry.  Other software has no trouble writing to my Windows Registry.  My anti-virus software is not blocking the Registry.
I expressly asked for an Adobe staff member to guide me on how to debug this failed installation.
All I got was zilch.  Your forum software assured me that my request was posted, but I have not seen it on the list of recent posts.  You made it disappear and did not respond to it.  Your company does not provide any other avenue for a distraught user to obtain technical support.  Your dismissive attitude toward your customers and user community is even more distressing than your bloated, malfunctioning software products.
Without Flash Player installed, my computer has been dead in the water for ten days.  I can't do my work.  If I am forced to write my own Flash emulator just to get my work done, then I won't need Adobe anymore.

    Hi Pramananda,
You're previous post wasn't ignored.  Assisting users on forums is not staffs primary responsibility and we try to assist users as our time allows, in between our responsibilities.  Creating multiple posts for the same issue also doesn't help as it simply forks the problem and results in responses to both, causing confusion.
Failure to register errors are normally caused by registry permissions issues,  not user permissions issues.  Please review the Flash Player | Windows registry permissions tech note as it addresses this issue.
    Maria
P.S.  I locked your other thread so that responses will only be posted to one location, eliminating forked responses and confusion.

  • Can anyone tel me about flash player for Ipod Touch

Will apple release Flash player for browser in Ipod touch and Iphone? I am eagerly waiting for that. I am new to this forum so kindly help me out with your replies and ideas for further reading.
    I use a Ipod touch 4G

No, I would stop waiting if I were you.

  • Virus? A pop up window saying the flash player is infected

Hi there I suddenly got a pop up window when I was browsing Facebook. It says
    WARNING!
    Your video player is infected!
System has two malicious viruses: Rootkit.Sirefef.Spy und Trojan.FakeAV-Download. Your personal and financial information is not secure.
Remove viruses, Please promptly update your video player:
Is this a virus? I am sorry if I asked a stupid question but I am really confused. I am using Mac with google chrome as my browser.
Thanks a lot for your help.
    link:http://update3.flash-palys.us/Player/Warning-uk.php?installer=Flash_Player_11_for_Other_Br owsers&browser_type=KHTML&dualoffer=false

Well, you can relax... BOTH of the "infections" it lists ( a "Rootkit" and a "Trojan").... WON'T run on a Mac, so you KNOW it's a fake. There's NO WAY it could have detected WIndows malware on a system running OS X.
I'd stay away from that Facebook page, and report it to them.

  • Snow Leopard Flash Player Security Vulnerability

In the "What were they thinking?" department, various sources are warning about security vulnerabilities in the older version of Flash Player that is included with the Snow Leopard installation. It is recommended that the newest version of the Flash Player be downloaded from the Adobe web site and installed. D'oh!

    Raymon:
You should probably be updating Excel to 10.1.6 anyway; then run the new Security update. In fact, if you're running Excel with MS Office X, I there's a combined updater to take care of all the products in that Suite. (Run repair permissions from Disk Utility before installing.)
I wouldn't be concerned with older flash files you have previously put on your Mac. I'd just install the new security update(s) and go on with enjoying your Mac.
Yes, you'll also want to update the Shockwave Player or other Flash-based Macromedia software you might have installed, based on the listing at the bottom of that referenced site.
I'm not really surprised about views/replies. "Vulnerabilities" don't necessarily mean that there's anything vicious roaming around the net right now, but rather that something in the software code was discovered that might allow such things to be enabled. If something affecting Macs was running rampant, I suspect that it would be reported everywhere very quickly.
