Security Warning when running DNG converter

Hi,
I just did a clean install of Vista Ultimate on my laptop and then installed the DNG converter (version 4.4.1).
I copied the executable into Program Files/Adobe/Adobe DNG Converter but every time I run it I get a dialogue box:
Open File - Security Warning
which asks me to confirm I want to run the file. Even if I uncheck the "Always ask before opening this file" checkbox the behaviour happens.
Anyone else seen this and know how to fix it?

This is the standard Micro$oft warning for any none Micro$oft product installed from a web download. It is part of their marketing strategy to discourage the use of non-Micro$oft products. It also occurs with Windoze XP.

Other users are able to run the reports. They have IE8 and Adobe Reader 10.1.2 installed. Any ideas why this problem might occur?

Problem running DNG Converter from command line in Windows XP

I'm a frustrated user trying to run Adobe DNG converter from the Windows command line - more specifically from a batch file.
- Am reasonably conversant with writing batch files
- Have read the PDF file provided by Adobe
I just can't figure the correct syntax for adding the command line parameters and, unfortunately, the Adobe PDF file doesn't have verbose examples for idiots like me. Nor can I find any such examples on the Net, or any discussion of this problem in the forums.
The Adobe PDF instructions state...
"The parameter list includes the conversion options you want to use, followed by the names of the files to convert."
As there is no switch to prefix 'the names of the files to convert' I assume I just leave a space and include the path to the source files at the end of the parameter list?
Here is the batch file line I am trying to use...
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe DNG Converter.exe [parameter list]"
Where I want to specify in the [parameter list] that...
(a) The destination directory (-d <directory> parameter) is c:\DNG_files
(b) And the source files are in directory c:\RAW_files
Here is the batch line with the parameters entered...
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe DNG Converter.exe -dC:\RAW_files c:\DNG_files"
I've tried variations of this with space between -d and C:\RAW_files and C:\DNG_files\*.* for the source files parameter.
I just keep getting DOS erros like "The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect"
Can anybody help me. I'm clueless how to solve the problem. :-(

LOL. Well this lemming doesn't habitually rename .exe files (e.g. Adobe DNG Converter.exe) to a non-spaced alternative either! (Adobe_DNG_Converter.exe)

As you can see (a) Source files exist(b) DNG command line runs without generating an error (c) no output files in destination.
DNG Converter did not run.
If I remove everything after the command (i.e. the parameter list stuff) it fires up DNG Converter in interactive mode. Not what I'm after.
Any other thoughts on what the problem is?

Font warning when running swing apps

I am seeing this warning when I run my swing app using JRE 1.4.0.

XML PrintSelectedInvoices completes with warning when run as child request

Hi Friends,
I have converted the print selected invoices to xml and it runs fine when run by itself through SRS but it fails when it is submitted as a child request ( when it gets run as a child request when Invoice import and print program is run). Here is the problem:
1)When request is submitted, through SRS it passes fine and while submitting I find the template name,template language in theoptions button: Upon completion �Window:(UNDER LAYOUT section)
2)BUT When request is submitted as child request it fails and while submitting this; Ifind that there is no information in the layout section in the options: Uponcompletion �Window:(UNDER LAYOUT SECTION).You will see that there is notemplate name,template language etc. and details picked in the Upon Completionwindow under OPTIONS buton in SRS.
Also the error in the log file is as follows:

Register the template before using it.
Once it is registered, you can call that report as a child request.

How do I avoid the recipient of my Indesign PDF receiving a security warning when clicking on links?

If the PDF is opened in Adobe Reader, when the recipient clicks on a hyperlink in my PDF they get a security warning asking if they trust the site. How can I avoid the recipient receiving this Security Warning as it would scare people into thinking I had sent them something malicious when I haven't?

You cannot avoid it, that's part of the PDF security system to make the user aware that he is entering non-trusted area, as it is with every web page when it is opened the first time in Reader or Acrobat on this computer. ThatÄs an unchageable fact. You have to live with it.

There's nothing you can do as the creator of the file. If you could, that whole source of security would be worthless.
They would need to tweak their security settings in Edit>Preferences>Security(enhanced).

Warning when running FBICR3

When running FBICR3 I get this warning
Display categories open items and recivables contain some of the same data records
Message no. FB_Rc017.
If is only a warning and the reports is correct, but the warning is irretating....how can I avoid the warning ?
Another question, I have set up ICR on our test system/sandbox. When we start on our Development system and I set up ICR, is everything transportable ?, or do we have to open for customizing on our PRD system, to implement ICR ?

Hello Rafael,
No, it is not necessary to run FBIC004 before importing the customizing. But you may have to run it afterwards.
You always have to run FBIC004 in update mode the first time after you import customizing if you want to use process 003. The table group FBICRC003 is not delivered as active in the posting framework.
You also have to run FBIC004 in update mode if you added additional fields since the last run of FBIC004 in the productive system. You should avoid making changes to the additional fields in the production system if possible.

Firefox gives me a security warning when I open web sites and I don't want it to.

I access a providers web site daily and when I go in I get a box message that their is a security warning that I have to get rid of before going any further. This happens to sites I go to everyday and I don't know how to stop this.

Mac OS running DNG Converter from terminal

I would like to run a big batch job of DNG conversions from the Mac OS Terminal. I have test run a few files and there doesn't seem to be any output to the stout from the command. I was really hoping to write a text file that I could examine after the run.
Am I missing on a switch or is that just the way it works.

Downloaded JPG Files Have Security Warning When Downloaded with FF 14.0.1

Since updating to FF14.0.1, JPG files that are downloaded from the internet display "Open File - Security Warning" "Unknown Publisher" when double clicked to open. I can disable the warning for individual files, but would rather have it global for all since JPG file are a low security risk. They do open without the warning when downloaded within IE8. I couldn't find any FF security settings that may affect this issue.

I'm not aware of any changes in Firefox 14 relating to this feature, but there are dozens of changes in each release, so I certainly can't rule it out.
Is the E drive a partition on your hard drive, RAM disk, removable storage? Just wondering whether it might be treated differently than the C drive for some reason. But IE and Firefox should be consistent, since this is all about Windows' internal security controls...

Security warning when searching

33.1.1, XP, SP3
Since upgrading to 33.1.1 every time I do a Google search from my BT Home Page I get the following security warning:
"Although this page is encrypted, the information you have entered is to be sent over an unencrypted connection and could easily be read by a third party.
"Are you sure you want to continue sending this information?"
I am aware that Google search in Firefox's default page is encrypted and I also know that if I use Google search in the address bar of my BT Home Page there is no warning (presumably because I'm still effectively using Firefox).
As stated this has only started happening since the upgrade to 31.1.1 - is this a new addition?
It is much more convenient to use the large search box on my BT page as the cursor is placed there by default.
Obviously I don't want to people to track my searches although I have been using non-encrypted http for years. However, is there any way I can set my BT search panel to https or to tell Firefox that https should be used on that page? Probably not.
As a last resort, is there any way I can turn off this annoying warning?

Unless you actually use the Shockwave (director) player for some certain games or interactive learning things, you may not likely need it compared to the Flash Player anyways. So you might as well uninstall it versus having to keep it updated.

Warning when running Disk Utility

I installed Snow Leopard without issue on Friday, but when I run Disk Utility on my hard drive, I get the following message:
Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAg ent" has been modified and will not be repaired.
I never received this message under Leopard. Can anyone tell me if it is a problem I can overlook or a more serious issue? Anything I can do to fix it? Thanks so much!

Getting Flash Player Security Error when running extension.

I had created a nifty utility which uses a Flash interface. It worked fine in CS3, but after upgrading to CS4, I keep getting the Flash Player Security Error popup when I run it.

In CS3, opening the Global Security Settings panel and adding the script's path to the trusted locations would fix this problem, and the utility would work going forward.
In CS4, however, adding the script's path to the trusted locations seems to have no effect.
I am using the ExternalInterface class in the Flash UI to communicate to and from the JavaScript.
Has anyone else run into this issue and found a solution?

Where are you running your movie from? If you are planning on
running them from a server, there should be no need to worry about
your end user seeing those messages. However, if you are planning
on each user copying them to their own hard drive or if you are
running from a CD-ROM, you may need to perform some trickery to
make them work without issue.
The message is occurring because there are links in some of
the files that point to internet resources and the Flash player is
seeing that as a potential security risk. So it is blocking the
action until you pat it on the head and assure it the world will
not, in fact, end if it shows you the content.
