• How to save state of a flash cs5 application for iphone

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it is possible to somehow save the state of a flash application so it is able to resume where it left off after being closed. For example, is it possible for a user to save games in an iPhone game written in Flash? if so could anyone point me in the right direction on where to read up on how to do this.
cheers

• White flash when previewing movies on full screen

Sometimes, when previewing my current editable movie project on the full screen I see a brief white flash at the end. Any idea why this is, please, and can it be avoided? No problem, I guess, if it does not appear in the final iDVD version or on the burnt DVDs. Thanks, Keith.

Hello, Keith,
Welcome to the discussions.
Some users reported a brief white flash in association with a transition. Is yours related to a transition? The 'cure' was to move the playhead frame by frame until you see the white flash, then 'split video at playhead' to isolate the flash. Usually it is only a frame or two in duration, and you can delete it.
If it is with a transition, you will have to delete the transition, find the white flash frame, delete it and redo the transition.
Post back if this is not helpful.

• Flash CS5 and iPhone

Hi, I've got a few questions about developing for iPhone in Flash CS5 that I can't seem to find the answer to anywhere.
How do you compile for iPad using this? I see the option that says "Device" and "iPad", but what does this actually do? Does it change some setting in the app that tells the iPad that it's compatible, so that it's not treated as an iPhone only app? What happens when you run an app on the iPad, does it resize the stage to the iPad's resolution?
How does this work on devices with the "retina" display? Is there support for this? Does it resize the stage to fit the screen's resolution, or does it just re-scale the whole app and all of the content? How about the app's icon? Does Flash support the higher quality icons?
Thanks for your help!

Yes as far as i know of all the ipad icon does is makes it compatible for the Ipad, You would have to make the app with the dimensions of the ipad, and then adjudt your code to refit the iphone. Otherwise you would have to zoom in on the ipad for a iphone game to work.
so to compile for the ipad. Make it of the ipad type, but you will need to change the stage dimensions.
The retina display, is just a part of the iphone, a app will allways be for a retina display app as long as it is present on the phone. There is no special feature for this. its just a part of the phone.
And yes a icon is justa  image, flash has nothing to do with the icon. It goes in a folder whilst your compiling it.

• FLASH CS5 on iPhone

Hello,
Excuse me, but I'm new to using Flash. I recently installed FLASH CS5 and I'm trying to open up a new iPhone OS flash file. But unlike various videos, tutorials, etc that I'm following on line. I don't actually seem to have this on my version. Can anybody help me as I'm at a lose. The product is brand new and is for the MAC version? Thank you.

click file/new.  you should see a new document menu that lists iPhone OS just under Adobe Air 2 in the general tab.

• Print Size is not the same as what I see in my project in Flash CS5

Alright, I'm doing a project for Biology 11 and I need to create a flipbook for the stages of a Lysogenic Infection.. This is what my front page is going to look like.. But, whenever I print the document it doesn't come out in the size that I have it set as, it just comes out almost covering up my whole white piece of paper.. and I need it flipbook sized. I have the width set at 3.99 inches and the height at 3.4 inches.. I want it to be flipbook size, so when I print it out, it's just a tiny portion of the white piece of paper that contains my drawings and stuff.. any idea what I should do? I want it to match the exact size of the white that I have in Flash CS5.

Hi,
It may be because, Scale to fit option may be selected in your printer options and hence may be the scaling. Just make sure that this option is not selected in your printer properties dialog.
Thanks!
ps: please mark this post as Answered if this is of help to you

• How do I update content weekly in Flash CS5 Android/iPhone App?

Hi,
I am working on an eLearning app that provides some new content for users to learn on a weekly basis. I am currently developing for AIR 2.5 using Flash CS5. I am thinking whether it would be possible to either push a minimal amount of additional content each week to the user's device? Or, if it would be possible to link to a web-app and display the new content via the web-app? Are any of these two methods possible to acheive using Flash CS5? If, so, which would be the better solution? And how do you do it? Thank you for your help !

• IPhone 5 white flashing when on camera in the dark?

iPhone 5 when I go on camera in the dark I notice a white flashing dot above the option button. When I slide it on to video or face time camera it goes? Help!!!

The flash on a smartphone camera is tiny. It only lights up a very small area right in front of the camera. It won't light up the whole scene.
Have you seen the size of the flash on a professional camera? Even they can't light a whole scene in the dark.
Fact is, a smartphone camera is not capable of taking good photos in the dark, even with the flash.
You'll need to buy and learn how to use a professional, dedicated SLR camera to be able to take good photos in the dark. It is not easy.

• Packager for iPhone update for Flash CS5?

I see the packager is updated...will the packager in Flash CS5 also be updated through the Application Manager?
http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/packagerforiphone/

Let us hope that it will be added soon.
480x320 isn't bad, but its ugly if you know you look at it on a retina display.
Also, on android, you get nicely 800x480 without problems (but android probably doesn't use tricks, just plan resolution)

• Why is the Packager for iPhone guide for Flash CS5 and not Flash Builder?

Following this tutorial, I gave compiling an iPhone project via the command line a shot and found it very difficult. The commands are not clearly explained and have character errors (“ ” instead of " ", \ instead of /, etc.).
I've also downloaded the pdf that comes with the Packager for iPhone and tried to follow along, but the explanations are for developing in the Flash CS5 IDE...why is that? It seems that Flash Builder would be the logical development environment for developers and a dev guide...
Can anyone explain or perhaps direct me to an easier, more official tutorial on developing iPhone applications in Flash Builder? Thank you!

Because Flash CS5 users need more help than us Flex devs. jk
The "Packager for iPhone" was depreciated some time ago, so I imagine you are reading some old docs. Now (since FB 4.5), it's just another target platform in a Flex Mobile Project. Before then it was part of the ADT compiler which could be run in ANT (or a really long command line string), and before then it was actually the "packager for iPhone".
If you do not have FB 4.5 then maybe you can provide more info on the challenges your facing, and someone may be able to point you in the right direction.

• Adobe Flash CS5 - iPhone/Android - Zugriff auf Camera?

Hallo,
ich habe versucht mit Flash CS5 eine iPhoneOS Anwendung zu erstellen, die auf die Kamera zugreift.
Der Code war:
import flash.media.Camera;
import flash.media.Video;
var kamera:Camera = new Camera();
kamera = Camera.getCamera();
if(kamera != null){
var video:Video = new Video();
video.attachCamera(kamera);
video.x = 0;
video.y = 60;
addChild(video);
Als ich diesen Code aber auf meinem iPod Touch 4G mit iOS 4.2.1 testen wollte, sah ich nichts. Kann eine AIR-Anwendung auf sowas zugreifen?
MfG,
comiplo

The solution is very simple.
I use Vista 64-bit. I got the same error with Master collection cs5. Every other thing from master collection installed fine except flash.
1) So i uninstalled flash cs5.
2) Then i downloaded the flash cs5 standalone.
3) I copied the setup files to a new folder in the desktop. Then i ran the installation.
And it installed without a hitch. Problem solved. Hope it works with Win7 too.

• Scrollbars in Flash CS5.5

I published a Flash file with the html wrapper.
Flash publish settings-
Size - %
Height- 100%
Width 100%
Scale- No scale
HTML alignment- Default
Flash horizontal alignment- Center
Flash vertical alignment- Center
All good but there are no scroll bars on the browser when I make the browser window smaller? Search took me to this thread-
http://forums.adobe.com/message/3557607
The solution there is "find the parameter in your CSS that states "overflow: auto" or "overflow: hidden" and change it to "overflow: scroll"
I did that and now I see a white scroll track in the browser but no actual scroll bar? LOL What do you think is going on? How do I solve this problem?
Thanks
