See layers in Filter Window

When using the Filter Window, we would like to see the other layers at the same time. At the moment, we only see the active layer on a transparency checker background.
Is this possible ?
We are using CS2.

thanks for your quick reply !
We used to be able to do this in previous versions of Photoshop, and I don't see the Filter Window and stacking filters to be a useful enough feature to justify not being able to see the effects on top of all the other layers.
To add to that, opening the Filter Window is slow.
Is there a place where we can make feature requests to Adobe ? Just a simple checkbox for "View all other layers" in the Filter Window...

Rendered composite doesn't show the layers I see in the edit window

In exporting or rendering a segment or a still frame of a four layer composite, I don't see the same effects applied that I see in the edit window. The composite is a luma traveling matte composited over a color corrected background, with a gaussian blur/line art adjustment layer ( that I found help for on this forum, thank you). But now when I try to output it, I don't get the adjustment layers. Any ideas?

Details not appearing in the dropdown list in the filter window

Dear All,
   I have come accross a unique problem. I have made a user defined query. Now there is an item code column. I want to filter the item codes in the generated query. But all the items are not appearing in the filter window> item field> dropdown. My query output shows all the items but the filter does not!!!
   I have 10,000 items where the codes are ranged from A to X with various serials. When I run the query the report shows all the items which are within the query conditions. But when I open the filter window then in the dropdown for the item code only codes upto "G" appear.
   How can this be resolved?? otherwise I am not able to filter my selections.

The query is to generate a report to find out the total units of items sold through delivery. Actually, there is no problem with the query. The query shows absolute reports. The problem is among these 10,000 items which come in the report, if I need to see some specific item then I can use the filter option. But in the filter option the items codes upto "G" are only appearing inspite of the fact that the query report list has all the items from A-J.
I hope I am clear. This is not the problem with this query only. In all the queries where the item details are appearing, the system doesnot give me the flexibility to filter by all the items rather only upto a range. Why is it so?
Still if you need to see the query then please let me know. I will put in the query statement.

Why is EVERYTHING I put in the SORT & FILTER window of this forum resulting in "INVALID TAG" error windows?

No matter what I put in, whether the version, my OS, or the problem, nothing I put in the sort & filter window will actually sort & filter the messages! I do not really wish to go through each one to find those relevant to my issue, computer, & version I'm running! Also, why is there no way to look up the questions I've asked, to see if there have been any responses?

The sort and filter is used to filter be specific, pre-set tags. For example, all Mac 10.6 tags are, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions?tagged=mac-os-x-106. You can't put whatever you want in that field, that's what the search is for.

Setting the Prompt Message in a Bex Report Charactorstic Filter Window.

Hello Experts,
Recently my project was enhanced with some more new project and mixed it with my project.
Now my issue is before my new project was mixed into old project. We have the option..when a Charactorstics in Free Charactoristics (Ex: Customer, material ) context menu we come to see the option Select Filter Value and Filter Window opens.
In that my old project, for the users comfortability and for knowing to users that there are more than n no of materials avaialble like that..in that filter they put one prompt message " has more than n values ".
But after mixing up the enhanced new project, now..we are unable to see the above prompt message in Filter window..when material drill down.
User requirement is to again users need to see that kind of prompt in the charactoristics filter window and this requirement is needed for Query Level and is for two or three reports only.
I come to know some solution like in WAD web template under web items section Do not display system messages check box is now..Ticked. By un checking that option this issue will be solved like that. But i had tried in that manner but no use.
And also i got one more solution that in WAD XHTML Coding section we can set this feature like that.
Here my question is how to find XHTML Coding Section in WAD. Because i already tried to check in HTML coding section but couldnt find tha option.
Requesting you , please reply me based on the solutions which i know can suggest further, or else if any body faced this kind of issue in your projects or come to know from ur end.

Just i wanted to update one more thing..regarding this issue..
Currently the in the prompt Maximum no of hits has set as 200.
user is asking to have a prompt of more than 200 values in the report.

Bridge Plugin: Make comments and see layers in PSD and TIFF files

I've been searching the interweb thin for Bridge plug-ins without luck.
I work in a production company and we have a quite intense QA process meaning that we compare images against each other and return feedback to editors.
So instead of cycling through applications it would make our life so much easier to just stay inside adobe bridge.
What I'm looking for is a plugin for Adobe Bridge with following attributes:
1. leave comments and notes on images
2. See layers in tiff and PSD files
I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this request, but I figured that this was the best place to ask.
Ps. it is not important what version of Bridge it will be compatible with (but preferable cs6)

You also might get a better answer but I'm not sure what way you need to leave comments and notes. You already have the option to label and rate the files and of course you have the IPTC Metadata to leave comments in (e.g. IPTC status / instructions).
As for the request to view layers, that would be nice but certainly not easy to realize. But it might be useful to extend this request in more detail, about how would you see them. Currently the preview window has a max of 9 files to view in one panel, would you see them scrollable or together in one window? Some layers have only masks or brush corrections in masks, would you see them in the same way as in PS using alt click on a mask?
The more detailed you make your feature request the better chance in getting more votes and better replies in possibility etc.

CS5 64bit - top of HDR filter window cut off

When I open the HDR toning filter the top of the HDR controls window is always hidden under the top edge of the screen. I can't reposition the window. This is in CS5 64bit. When I make the same actions in CS5 32bit and in CS6, the whole of the HDR filter window is visible in the normal way.
How can I get to see the whole HDR controls window again in CS5 64bit please?

Looks like you're seeing the compressed version of the dialog, made for small screens.
I take it you're not seeing an OK button over on the upper-right, even if you move the dialog to the left?

Filter Window - Adjustable?

Hi,
Is there any way to re-size/adjust the width of the Filter Window?
When exploring multiple levels of a dimension, my business partners find it very inconvenient to have to use the horizontal scroll bar to see lower level members (see screenshots below). It would be easier if they could simply drag the right edge of the window to expand the width to a more accessible viewing window size. A larger window width would make the exploration experience more productive.
If this adjustable window feature is not available in BI4.0 SP8.3, is it available in a later version?

Adjusting the width is not available in BI 4.0.... but is available in BI 4.1.

Photoshop crashes when rearranging layers in layer window. I'm using Photoshop CS4 Extended on a MacBook Pro purchased 5 months ago. I have tried restarting the computer. I am able to rearrange layers with the hot keys.

As with all unexplainable Photoshop-problems you might try trashing the prefs (after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed) by keeping command-alt-shift pressed on starting the program or starting from a new user-account.
System Maintenance (repairing permissions, purging PRAM, running cron-scripts, cleaning caches, etc.) might also be beneficial, Onyx has been recommended for such tasks.

Weeding out bad fonts never seems to be a bad idea, either. (Validate your fonts in Font Book and remove the bad ones.)
If 3rd party plug-ins are installed try disabling them to verify if one of those may be responsible for the problem.

I came up with an alternative solution.
Instead of actually trying to move the JInternalFrame from one JDesktopPane to another, I added a single, maximized JInternalFrame to the left side. When one of the right side frames is to be docked, I merely copy its ContentPane to the single JInternalFrame on the left, set the original to be non-visible, and adjust the properties of the JSplitPane to make the "docked" frame appear.
When the "close" button on the docked frame is pressed, I simply undo this procedure to "undock" the frame and redisplay it on the right-hand side (with its content intact from the docked frame, but in its original position).

In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Copy the line of text below into the box that opens, and press return:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
I've seen an unconfirmed report that the "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you might need to remove it as well, if applicable.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

Sort order in web filter window

Hi All,
Is there a way of specifying the sort order of a characteristic in the web (v3.5) filter windows? When you try to filter on specific values of a characteristic, the window returned displays the characteristics ordered by key rather than by text which is not helpful to the users. Can I change this ordering by any means to be related to the characteristic's text instead some how?

The sorting property was already set to be based on text and this is reflected in the results of the query displayed. However the filter box does not seem to behave likewise. Also, limiting to text only doesn't change the sort order, it is still ordered by the hidden key unfortunately.

Let's be real clear here -- are you saying you are using Internet Explorer and when you try and download Mozilla Firefox it gets around 75% through and shuts down?
If so there is something wrong with your computer -- or at least IE. I rarely, if ever, recommend this, but it might be time to reformat your hard drive and reinstall your OS (if you are even thinking about doing this the first thing you must do is back up all your data files, preferably to writable media like DVDR or CDR).
If you have a friend with a computer perhaps you can get them to download both the latest iTunes as well as (more importantly) the latest firmware updater, and then install them on your machine (they can write them to their own CD).
The other thing that occurs to me is you might not be logged in as admin on that computer -- make sure you are doing this and are the only user.
Otherwise my brain is fuzzy right now -- perhaps someone else can jump in after you reply (I'm right in the middle of packing for a cross country move and only able to spend about five minutes a day on this board).
