SeeBurger Receiver VAN/FTP Adapter: where to mention the target path

Hi,
I am using SeeBurger VAN/FTP adapter for IDOC-XI-EDI scenario.
In seeburger receiver VAN/FTP adapter, where I have to set the target path. My target path is very long (15 characters).
I am able to configure Host, Port, User id and password.
Please suggest where to put the path name in seeburger receiver VAN/FTP adapter.
Thanks,
Madan Agrawal

HI Madan,
Can you please tell me which VAN provider you are meant to use? It is the same question which Prateek asked above 'which protocol' without this it is hard to help dude.
I just checked and half of them don't want you to use this field 'host path;
Also the error is different ...
1) Are you doing FTP or FTPS?
2) which VAN/Protocol

  • Quality of service in Receiver file/ftp adapter (SAP PI 7.1)?

    Hi,
        We are building an IDoc to File scenario in SAP PI 7.1, where a single incoming idoc will create three different output files. Also files must be created in target server in a specific order.
        Our first idea to ensure that files would be created following a specific order was that Message mapping (in Java) build target payload with all three files following expected sequence.
        In addition, receiver file/ftp adapter is setup with a dynamic variable to create each file with a different filename adding also timestamp.
        Testing the scenario, we see that three files are created in target server but when we sort them by creation date, it seems they don't follow always same sequence.
        Sometimes adapter creates File1, File2, File3; next time it created File2, File1, File3 and so on.
        Our problem is that files must be created always with a specific order and we cannot use BPM. Does anyone know if a receiver file/ftp adapter can be setup to create files following specific sequence (EOIO)?
        I know that sender file/ftp adapter can be setup with a quality of service, but I didn't find anything similar for Receiver file/ftp adapter.
        Suggestions will be welcome.
    Kind Regards,
    Aitor

    Hi,
         First, thanks all of you for your quick answers. They were helpful because we learnt a new configuration setting.
         We tried your suggestions but they didn't really fix our problem.
         Finally interface has been re-designed and we will not have to apply this logic, so no issue from our side.
         However, let me continue with this topic in case that somebody else will have the same issue, then it will be able to review this thread.
         When adapter created the files in the target directory (windows server), files had the expected timestamp in each filename. However, if we sorted windows directory contents by "Date Creation", files were sorted different that timestamp shows in the filename.
         For example, adapter created following files:
    File1_20090325-115117-169
    File2_20090325-115117-174
    File3_20090325-115117-180
         But when we sorted windows folder contents, files were sorted as follows:
    File2_20090325-115117-174
    File1_20090325-115117-169
    File3_20090325-115117-180
         It seems that timestamp was pre-assigned by the adapter, but when adapter created the files, it did it with a temporary name and finally assigns the filename. If a file size was bigger than other, maybe it takes more time and windows creation date is higher.
         If so, it means that adapter is not following same instructions as itu2019s indicated in "maintain order at runtime" checkbox.
         Do you know if there is any way where we can push also the order in the adapter as we did in interface determination?

    Aitor

    Hi,
    this is the content of the oss note (hope it helps):
    Symptom
    Where are the documents that you can create and display using the generic object services (System -> Connections or System -> 'Services for the object') physically stored?
    Solution
    Storing attachments using generic services
    The generic object services offer a separate option via the 'Copy desktop document', 'Connect Internet address (URL)' and 'Create a note' services to add an attachment to a business document.As of Release 4.6C, these services are called 'Create attachment', 'Create an external document (URL)' and 'Create a note'.
    These services should enable the end user to easily enter attachments without document characters (memos).Correspondingly, there is no archiving concept for this type of attachment.
    Technically speaking, notes, PC attachments and URLs are treated as SAPoffice documents and result in corresponding entries in the SOOD and SOFM tables. The contents of the attachments are stored in the SOC3 table.As of Release 4.6B, the contents of PC attachments are stored using the Knowledge Provider (KPro).The KPro allows you to connect an external storage system so that the contents of the PC attachments no longer place a burden on the database. If an external storage system is not connected, the contents of the PC attachments are written to the SOFFCONT1 table as of Release 4.6B.The administrative information necessary to locate the document in the Kpro is in the SOC3 table.
    The content of notes and URLs continues to be stored in the SOC3 table.As these documents are usually small, the additional effort involved in storing them in the KPro is not justified.
    If the PC attachments are not to be stored in the SOFFCONT1 table, you must assign a category to the SOFFPHIO document class using transaction SKPR08. The category is created in transaction OACT and refers to a repository on a HTTP content server. If documents that have already been stored are to be moved to the content server, see note 389366.
    For more information on connecting an external Content Server, see the online documentation for the SAP Knowledge Provider or the information available in the help portal under Basis -> Basis Services -> Business Workplace -> Administration of... -> Information on Documents... -> Configuring an HTTP Content Server for Documents.
    The relationship between the attachments and the business documents is provided via the Object Relationship Service.
    Defining attachments using the archive link
    If an optical archive was connected using the archive link and the corresponding settings for the document type were maintained for the object types of a business document, documents can be stored in the Content Repository, directly from the PC, via the 'Establish relationships for the stored document' or 'Store the business document' service.
    In addition, refer to the online documentation for more information on configuring the archive link.
    Best regards.

  • How to give a dynamic File Name for Receiver File/FTP Adapter.

    Hi Experts,
        I have one scenario in which we are creating a flat file of IDOC which is coming from R/3 & sending it to FTP location. For this we have configured Receiver FTP adapter with File Name Scheme as "NT.out"  & in File Consturction mode i have given as "Add Time Stamp".
        therfore while creating a file it is creating as NTyyyyMMdd-HHmmss-SSS.out
    where as my requirement is only to to add Time & not the Date. (NThhmmss.out)
        How to do this ?
        for your info we are using ABAP Mapping.
        Pl help me
    Regards,
    Umesh

    Hi Umesh,
          Add one more field to your target structure for your file name and populate that field as per your requirement like NTyyyyMMdd.out. In receiver communication channel use Variable subtiution option and give the refrence of Payload and file construction mode set as create.
    And refer the below weblogs for Variable Subtiutuion File Name Scheme

  • FTP Adapter where FTP server is SSH Tectia Server for IBM z/OS

    We are purchasing "SSH Tectia Server for IBM z/OS" as the secure FTP server.
    1. Has anyone used this with Oracle FTP Adapter to securely FTP files to the mainframe?

    HI,
    Unfortunately there are some concerns with FTPS connectivity with XI.
    As you know SFTP is not yet possible with XI, but somehow you could use FTPS.
    Please confirm below things this may help you
    1. Please make sure to Activate Secure Storage in the File System after Deploying the SAP Java Cryptographic Toolkit. Check below thread for the detail procedure
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/cd/14c93ec2f7df6ae10000000a114084/content.htm
    2. You can go for Third Part adapters such as Seeburger adapter AS2, OFTPS etc. for better connectivity with FTPS

  • Configuring the Receiver File/FTP Adapter !!

    Hi
    I am trying to configure the Receiver file adapter using the J2SE adapter engine(Please note , NOT the J2EE adapter engine).I see a prerequisite for configuring as below
    "The address (HTTP port and URL) where the adapter can be contacted from the Integration Engine".
    What values are to be specified and how can they be validated ?
    I could see an example given in the Docs saying below,
    If i specify , say for example,
    "XI.httpPort=1234 and
    XI.httpService=/file/Receiver, the end point address of the file/FTP adapter in the Integration Engine must be specified as follows:
    http://<fileadapterhost>:1234/file/Receiver"
    Can anyone explain what exactly is this endpoint address and where should it be specified/referred to ?
    Thanks
    Saravana

    Hi,
    "http://<fileadapterhost>:1234/file/Receiver"
    this adress refers to an end point with the end point type "xi-connectivity" in the integration directory (ID)which refers to the settings in the file adapter (httpPort=1234 and XI.httpService=/file/Receiver)
    1. you specify these adress in the file adapter (outbound)
    2. you refer to these adress in the ID (Receiver System End points)
    every file adapter should have an own port, because you can not specify two identical ports in two fileadapters.
    hope I could help you,
    michele

  • Get the File Name received from FTP Adapter

    Hi,
    How to get the File name reived through the FTP Adpater. I have created a variable with the Message type from ftpAdapterinboundheader.wsdl. from there I mapped the filename attribute to a local string variable.
    But I did not receive the file name. The output in the Audit trail is as follows:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <Invoke_File_Process_FileProcess_InputVariable>
    - <part xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" name="InputParameters">
    - <InputParameters xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/db/PIERS/SP_FILE_PROCESS_UPDATE/">
    <AS_DIR xmlns="">I</AS_DIR>
    <AS_FILE_NAME xmlns="" />
    </InputParameters>
    </part>
    </Invoke_File_Process_FileProcess_InputVariable>
    Can any one let me know how to get the recevied file name from FTP adapter.
    Thanks

    you have to define variable of type InboundHeader_msg. Then in receive activity click on Adapter tab and for header variable chose your newly created variable (InboundHeader_msg). Once you receive message from FTP you should see in this variable fileName.

  • HTTP adapter: where to see the transformed output message

    All,
    I am a beginner in Webservices/HTTP interfaces in PI. I have to make changes on an existing custom interface which uses HTTP adapter. I have done the changes in the message mapping and tested it using the test tool. It seems OK.
    However when we do end-to-end testing, data is flowing but  bussiness needs a copy of the transformed data that has been sent out from PI.
    I checked RWB->Message Monitoring-> Integration server(Database) and it showed the successful message. When I drilled further into this message, it showed the SOAP message (Version 0 and Version 1 with payload). The payload showed the data that ECC had sent to PI and not the transformed data that went out from PI to 3rd party via HTTP adapter.
    Appreciate if you could guide me in right direction regarding where to see the Output/Transformed data that is actually sent to third parties.
    I have checked SXI_MONITOR as well in PI but that also shows the payload only and not the transformed data.
    Regards
    SK

    Hi ,
    Go to particular message in SXI_MONITOR. In Message there will be window on left hand side. There will be Technical Routing.
    Technical Routing> Payloads->Maindocument. This shows the Output data.
    If you are not able to see Technical Routing inform you basis team they need to do some configuration in SXMB_ADM

  • Where to mention the IP address in a  JSP dyn page

    Hi ,
    I am creating a mail sending system with Javamail.
    Created the JSP dyn page,
    wrote the event handler in the java file. and all.
    now I have to mention the IP address of the SMTP server.
    where should I do this....
    inside the event handler itself?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    The button tag in the jsp looks like this
    <hbj:button
            id="sendEmail"
            text="sendEmail"
            width="125px"
            tooltip="Click here to send mail"
            onClick="sendEmail"
            disabled="false"
            design="STANDARD"
            />
    The function to handle the button eventing occurs in the dynpage  . The function looks like
    public void sendEmail (Event event) { ..coding.. }
    Now when the button is clicked, the control is transferred to this event handler sendEmail and the code with init starts executed.
    Hope it is clear...

  • Ftp connection: "Can not find the catalog/path"

    I have had a Webserver operating on my old IBook.
    I had it opened through my firewall, and everything worked.
    Now I try to connect to the same iBook, but with an IP-adress that comes from turning on
    Internet sharing on the Ethernet port of my iMac. I try to connect in iWeb, ftp server test.
    But the iMac I do things on, cannot find the catalog, it says. (At least the ftp login seems to work.)
    I have things in the path /Library/Webserver/Documents, and started my 3rd
    home page in the subdirectory iMe, which catalog I created inside the Documents folder.
    Thankful for all tips!
    Best Regards,

    As per usual, do not compond problems, mix them and then cry for help. And iWeb is not involved, yet.
    Start at the beginning.
    Set up your network and make it work. Period.
    On the remote computer where you want to have access, and publish your website, enable Remote login.
    Then test it and find out where you end up.
    There you create a folder where you want to publish your pages.
    Put a sampe html file in that folder.
    In the /Library/Webserver/Documents folder on that remote computer you create a symlink to that folder.
    Open your browser and type the URL to the file.
    TEST TEST TEST TEST TEST TEST TEST
    UNTIL IT WORKS.
    If you do not understand it, search the interwebs or find a forum that deals with it.
    Then, when it works, and only then, you may open iWeb.
    To publish to that remote folder you created earlier, choose this setting :
    The directory path is determined earlier when you tested the connection.
    You can also use filesharing.
    Enable it on the remote computer and then mount the remote disk on your desktop.
    Choose publish to folder in iWeb.
    iWeb doesn't care.

  • Receiver File/FTP Adapter

    Hi,
    I want to take in a message packet and output it to a file.
    You can dump the XML out by simply choosing the "File" message prototcol. However, I don't want the XML. I want the data. For example if the inbound interface message type is:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <ns0:MT_BalanceExtractHAPS_ForFTP xmlns:ns0="http://gcc.access.com/360ToHaps">
      - <Body>
           <Reference>PCN123456</Reference>
           <Balance>65.50</Balance>
           <BalanceSign>+</BalanceSign>
        </Body>
    </ns0:MT_BalanceExtractHAPS_ForFTP>
    I want an output file with 1 record as follows:
    PCN123456,65.50,+
    Fairly sure you have to use the FIle Content Conversion message protocol but I have a couple of questions:
    1. What do you put in File Name Scheme ?
    2. Would the following Content Conversion paramaters be used to give me comma separated output ?
    Body.fieldSeparator has a value of ","
    Body.fieldName has a value of "Reference,Balance,BalanceSign"
    Any help would be much appreciated.
    Cheers,
    PaulC.

    For File Naming Scheme, put *
    For parameters:
    .fieldSeparator = ','
    .endSeparator = u2018nlu2019
    .fieldNames     =  list of field names in each record
    All values are including quotes.

  • Where we mention the Profile Attributes when we call these attributes throu

    Hi
    I have query
    I am working in Call Centre Application on 7.7 version. Some of my x employees have written some scripts on some Business Components. In that Scripts they have called some GetProfileAttribs with out using the SetProfileAttribs.
    But i can not under stand where they have set this Profile attribs and from where they are calling these attribs?
    If any body have an idea on this please let me know ?
    Thanks
    Venkat

    As well as "dynamic" Profile Attributes there are also static profile attributes that are stored within the system. You can see which attributes have been defined by looking at the fields defined on the "profile attribute" BCs.
    In Siebel Tools go to the Business Component view and query for Profile Attribute.
    There is more information about the use of these BCs in the Personalization Guide in Bookshelf.

  • How & Where to create the Target Groups and Transport Targets for Business

    Hi Experts,
               I am Transporting the scenarios from Development 500 client XI system to Development 500 client PI7.1 system. I have taken the exports of Technical system and Business System from the DEV XI system and correspondingly have imported the same in the PI7.1 system. I can see the all the business system in the Business system SLD of the PI7.1 system. I would like to assign the Business System Groups and Transport Targets for every business system that I want to transport. How can I do that ? Whether this is to be done in DEV XI system or the DEV PI system? Can somebody elaborate the step by step method to create the Groups and Target system for the every Business system so that I can import the object of the Integration Directory sucessfully................................

    Hi Supriya,
               Thanks for the reply and good illustration............Still going further after defing the destination for transport in the source SLD Business system ( XI dev server) , then we should export it and subsequently import it in the SLD of the PI 7.1 ie the destination server.  Then we should transport the objects of Integration Repository and Integration Directory to the new PI7.1 server. Is this the right way to proceed.?  Hope that this will not give the error while importing the objects in Integration Directory. An typical which comes while importing the objects in the Integration Directory is as follows:-
    *Import failed because of business system transfer of object Communication Component | PCM: Obligatory transport target for business system PCM not found in System Landscape Directory*
    Pls clarify on this ......

  • Seeburger FTP Adapter And SAP PI 7.1

    Hi Everyone,
    Just a few questions about Seeburger FTP adapter please. Bit of background for clarity, we are doing an implementation using Seeburger FTP and sap PI 7.1 picking up EDIFACT (Orders) and returning (DESADV, ORDERSP, INVOICES). However we are not using any BIC, using another tool for EDIFACT -> EDIFACT-XML conversion (conversion agent) and in-house mapping development using graphical mapping.
    So couple of things which I haven't been able to figure out from the standard documentation for Seeburger FTP adapter:
    1) First is the functional ACK which we are meant to send back to the VAN is that a STANDARD FUNCTIONALITY with Seeburger FTP adapter?
    2) Because we are receiving a mix bag EDIFACT interchange on the way IN, I need to split messages accordingly and pass them on to the relevant channels and mappings. By using the standard module Splitter can I achieve that?
    3) Lastly some of the standard validations which are applicable to EDIFACT are they supported within the FTP adapter automatically? e.g. Counting number of messages in one interchange etc.
    Any help in this regard will be really great.
    regards

    Now a Good news.
    If you are using Seeburger version 2.1 (which you should be as you want it for PI 7.1), then there is an Internal Classifier and Split option for FTP adapter. You just need to tick checkbox "Use built-in splitting" and you are done. Then I believe there won't be any need for considering all these problems. The earlier version of Seeburger with PI 7.0 doesn't have such option and that could be the reason you haven't received any appropriate response yet.
    Still I will reply all your questions considering that "your case is of PI 7.0". -> remember PI 7.0
    >>even with just splitter we should be able to break it up?????? or am I wrong in thinking this?
    No. You even need BIC or an equivalent custom module for achieving this.
    >>I can't visualize where to handle the overall message count in one Interchange any suggestions?
    You need to write an adapter module for this. Not sure about the code but this module has to be added before the split happens.
    >> seeburger ftp adapter it does talk about a lot of reports which are available on sender/reciever actions. e.g. delivered, despatched etc. Are these reports not essentially ACKs?
    These reports are the ones used at the receiver side for getting the ACKs from the receiver. Your requirement is at present for sender scenario.
