Seeburger Workbench: Recovery Monitor and Archiving

Hi,
We need to have Recovery Monitor and Archiving enabled in our Seeburger Workbench.
It was there earlier when we were able to recover sent files if the message is failed in Seeburger Monitor.
But when we had Seeburger upgrade from 1.5 to 1.7,these (Recovery Monitor and Archiving ) are not working.
We need to fine out what is missing in this installation.
Can anyone please let me know if I can do something as a developer to enable this or if it has to be done by BASIS team,then can I get the details of steps involved in order to enable this ,as they are not very familiar with seeburger installation.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
Shweta

Hi Prateek,
Thanks a lot for the information.
As I understood,there is nothing that I can do for this.
Also,we have clustered environment.
Recovery jobs from adapter version 1.5 do not comply with version 1.7. So remove or process all jobs that have been created by 1.5 versions before updating to v1.7.
But if this is not done,is there anything that can be done now to enable this again.
Also,the note says that these bugs are fixed,then why we still have these problems,do we need to install some SPs to fix this?
Thanks again.
Regards,
Shweta

    I am trying to find a way to back up all files, activities, web history, downloads, and so on from one mack bookpro to another. I want to do this in a nonvisible manner, preventing notifications, or any evidence this is being tracked.

    In environment of Lync Server 2010 deployment, you can disassociate Monitoring and Archiving with Lync Server pool in topology builder and deploy a new Monitoring or Archiving, then associate them with Lync Server pool.

  • Seeburger Workbench access - restrict users to Message Monitor only

    Hi All
    Does anyone know if it's possible to restrict users to Message Monitor only access in the Seeburger Workbench?

    Hi Andy,
    if by "restrict" you mean if you can change the links available in the workbench, then sadly no - this is currently not possible. If you're ok with getting a HTTP Forbidden when clicking on other links than the Message Monitor, then yes - this can be configured within the SAP NetWeaver Administrator -> Identity Management. Check for example to documentation of the Message Monitor
    Extracted from there:
        Log on to the NetWeaver Administrator (NWA).
        Open Operation Management | Users and Access | Identity Managemet (UME).
        Create a role and assign the manage action for com.seeburger.xi.frontend.messageidmonitor to that role.
        Now you can assign the newly created role to any user you want to grant access to the SEEBURGER Message ID Monitor.
    This is for explicitly granting some user the access to the Message Monitor. The manage action is per default set to "Everyone". You need to remove Everyone on the corresponding frontends (search for actions with name com.seeburger.xi.frontend*)
    Hope that helps
    Greetings

  • Capture all SQL statements and archive to file in real time

    Want to Capture all SQL statements and archive to file in real time?
    Oracle Session Manager is the tool just you need.
    Get it at http://www.wangz.net
    This tools monitor how connected sessions use database instance resources in real time. You can obtain an overview of session activity sorted by a statistic of your choosing. For any given session, you can then drill down for more detail. You can further customize the information you display by specifying manual or automatic data refresh, the rate of automatic refresh.
    In addition to these useful monitoring capabilities, OSM allows you to send LAN pop-up message to users of Oracle sessions.
    Features:
    --Capture all SQL statement text and archive to files in real time
    --Pinpoints problematic database sessions and displays detailed performance and resource consumption data.
    --Dynamically list sessions holding locks and other sessions who are waiting for.
    --Support to kill several selected sessions
    --Send LAN pop-up message to users of Oracle sessions
    --Gives hit/miss ratio for library cache,dictionary cache and buffer cache periodically,helps to tune memory
    --Export necessary data into file
    --Modify the dynamic system parameters on the fly
    --Syntax highlight for SQL statements

  • My Macbook pro 1,2 monitor and laptop screen goes black once in a while and then comes back on

    Hello all,
         Thank you very much for taking the time to view my issue. This issue just started about a month ago, I have a 22" LCD Monitor that I have been using, when this issue started the monitor would flicker and the screen would go black, but if I turned it off for a bit then turned it back on it would come back on. After a while it just started to go black and not come back on at all, so I decided to disconnect the monitor and use the notebook screen, I thought the monitor itself was broken. The notebook screen was working fine up until the last week, it is now doing the exact same thing, when my computer wakes up from being asleep it sometimes flickers then goes black, I can still faintly see the outline of the programs I have up but it is completely black. Sometimes it is a pain to get back on and I have to force shutdown and turn it back on to get it working. I am not sure what the problem is but I really want to get it fixed.
    My Macbook Pro 1,2 is the first model made, but it was the best model available at the time. It has a Intel Core Duo 2.16GHz chip with 2GB of ram and a 160GB hard drive, it also has an ATI Radeon X1600 video card with 256mb of Vram. If anyone has any suggestions or resources I can use, I would greatly appreciate you sharing them with me.
    Thank you very much in advance!
    Sincerely,
    Saggz.

    You have limited opportunity to attempt to create a backup of your created files.
    That is what the SafeBoot or safemode appears to allow you -- at the moment.
    Since the hard disk drive exhibits signs of failure or other major issues, plan
    on a replacement in the near future. You may be able to get the computer to
    start up in a regular full OS X (not safe mode) but consider its hours are limited.
    An externally enclosed hard disk drive (with own power supply, not relying on
    Mac ports to run it) is a good basic means of which to use a disk utility to make
    a copy or a Clone of the current OS X. This may help retrieve an archive that
    could be used along with a Time Machine backup, to restore your Mac once you
    get a new hard drive installed inside.
    Good luck & happy computing!

    Hi,

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Take a look of the above doc contents:
    Configuring the Backup Retention Policy
    As explained in "Backup Retention Policies", the backup retention policy specifies which backups must be retained to meet your data recovery requirements. This policy can be based on a recovery window or redundancy. Use the CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY command to specify the retention policy.
    so  you have option to choose either  recovery windows or redundancy based you can set the configuration like
    read in the Doc What it said for both:
    Recovery Window-Based Retention Policy ==>RMAN does not consider any full or level 0 incremental backup as obsolete if it falls within the recovery window.  Additionally, RMAN retains all archived logs and level 1 incremental backups that are needed to recover to a random point within the window.
    Redundancy-Based Retention Policy==>The REDUNDANCY parameter of the CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY command specifies how many full or level 0 backups of each datafile and control file that RMAN should keep. If the number of full or level 0 backups for a specific datafile or control file exceeds the REDUNDANCY setting, then RMAN considers the extra backups as obsolete. The default retention policy is REDUNDANCY 1.
    RMAN> show RETENTION POLICY;
    using target database control file instead of recovery catalog
    RMAN configuration parameters for database with db_unique_name DDTEST are:
    CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO RECOVERY WINDOW OF 7 DAYS;
    RMAN> CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO REDUNDANCY 3;
    old RMAN configuration parameters:

    new RMAN configuration parameters are successfully stored
    RMAN> show RETENTION POLICY;

    new RMAN configuration parameters:

    new RMAN configuration parameters are successfully stored
    RMAN> show RETENTION POLICY;
    RMAN configuration parameters for database with db_unique_name DDTEST are:
    CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO RECOVERY WINDOW OF 7 DAYS;
    CONTROL_FILE_RECORD_KEEP_TIME:This parameter applies only to records in the control file that are circularly reusable (such as archive log records and various backup records) ref Doc:CONTROL_FILE_RECORD_KEEP_TIME
    1. Any condition is there to set the Retention Policy Recovery Window and Redundancy and control_file_record_keep_time?What is the relationship between these 3 parameters?
    2. Explain the scenario if i set the control_file_record_keep_time=4 Redundancy=3 and Recovery Window=7?

  • Very Confused over Reinstall Discs, Recovery Discs and how do I CREATE THEM!

    I am the owner of a Lenova IdeaCenter K300 Computer with Windows 7 64Bit OS
    The system has been running for just about a year now...no issues, very stable...however after a recent issue with another computer MFG system...I have questions:
    First the Other MFG system - The computer was purchased in April of 2008 with Windows Vista, the computer was unplugged on November 1, 2008 and stored in a cool Dry place....In October of 2011 My Godson wanted a new computer and I told him I have a computer that was lightly used and would do what he wanted it to do.
    I plugged in a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and turned on the unit when MUCH to my surprise the HD had failed...BADLY...so I went to a local store, purchased a new HD and installed it on the machine.
    First let me explain that this computer MFG after several calls to them looking for help.. explained to me the following
    1: Reinstall Discs were NOT avail
    2: The System did not support creating Recovery discs since all the information that the system needed was stored on
        the Hard Drive that was supplied with the system...and that the OEM Windows VISTA version was available to use for
        3 years
    I said Okay, but I have a computer that had a HD failure so how do I go about reinstalling Windows Vista to get the computer up and running again?  They told me that I had to PURCHASE from a store a copy of Windows Vista.   I said that I had from two other computers from another MFG Windows Vista Reinstall Discs, can I use those, and use the Product Key code supplied by YOUR company to reintsall the OS?  They said NO...you need the orginal Hard Drive....I was like WHAT!
    Needless to say you can imagine my EXTREME frustration over not being able to get the computer up and running again.  After several calls to the Presidents Office I was finally....after 6 weeks of battle able for a cost mind you of $19.99 to get physical DVD's to reintall Windows Vista onto the system - (they should arrive this week)
    So now I am sitting in front of this LENOVA computer wondering ...Worse CaseScenerio...HD FAILURE...and lets face it it DOES HAPPEN.
    so here are my questions
    1: What is the difference between Recovery Disc and Reinstall Dics?
    2: If this Lenova System can only Create Recovery Discs ...and the HD needs to be replaced will the Recovery discs reintsall Windows 7 on this system?
    3: How do I create these discs...I found an option on Lenova Rescue System to create Recovery Discs but it was 24  4.5 GB DVD's to do this?  Windows Vista only needed 2
    Am I missing something here can some one Please help me
    thank you!

    They should sell you recovery disc without any problems. If you call customer service and you feel that the conversation is going no ware you probably talking to wrong person. Disconnect and tray another time, you will never speak to the same person twice
    OEM reinstall disc doesn’t need activation, retail windows disc needs but you have serial number on the sticker so just call Microsoft and activate it.
    Recovery disc is a copy of your computer hard drive with windows, drivers, software included
    Reinstall disc is the same for all computers with windows only, you have to install drivers and software separately
    Reinstall OEM disc is only for Lenovo system but it is the same like retail windows disc with added pre-activation

  • Monitor and Printer Calibration

    I am running a MacPro 4.1 (early 2009).  I have older monitor and printer hardware and their related software. Unfortunately, the software will not run because the Mac will not run PPC software.  The software has both PC and Mac versions on the CDs. I originally ran these on a PC before switching to Mac. It appears that the manufacturer does not have new or updated software to enable these devices to run on the MacPro, and a Google search has not revealed any other devices that will run on this machine.
    My question: Is anyone aware of any new such hardware with software that will run on this Mac?

    Check out the blog and topic articles index, and the sections on Lion, RAID, and other issues, plus at the top, "Cloning as Backup Strategy"
    http://macperformanceguide.com/blog/2011/20110915_2-LionFullScreen.html
    No Mac Pro should be without redundant systems and backup methods.
    Definitely not TimeMachine alone, and definitely not when moving to a new OS.
    Backup now. Clone you drive. Or just get a new system drive - you will want and need a new OS drive and a backup drive for SL TimeMachine with at minimum room partition set aside for clone.
    WD Green 1.5TB $109 makes a good size for both but it is always best to have separate drives / separate backup sets.
    Install OS X 10.6.3 and update.
    As for "old Sl FILES" you mean your old data? other than Apple Mail and some prefs, should all be the same. And keep your data files off of and on their OWC "data media drive(s)" or something if you don't already, and that makes sense to you. OS / Apps on one, media and projects on 2-3 drives, some external backup drives.
    And keep anything you download. Updates, installers, programs, whatever.
    Ask Lion Community. There were/are changes in what and how TimeMachine Lion works.
    I personally never really had a good warm fuzzy feel about TimeMachine, especially when it was pushed out in "1.0" form in 2007 and had so many bugs and problems even in 10.5.2.
    A lack of configuration options and preferences; why do I need to use 3rd party to configure Apple's? So I stick mostly with other programs. To clone, to make backups and archives, to synch.

  • Error while parsing AS2 message: DECRYPTION_ERROR in Seeburger Workbench

    Dear all,
    In our production SAP PI 7.1 server, we are getting the below error in the Seeburger Workbench screen.
    Error:
    State Error on receive, task will not be retried
    "State Description Error while parsing AS2 message: DECRYPTION_ERROR # com.seeburger.ediint.edi.EDIMessageException: message decryption failed: failed to decrypt message: provider BC not found"
    Imp points to note are:-
    1. This error is not specific to one interface. 3-4 interface messages have this error.
    2. And even for a particular interface that has this error, we could see that some messages are getting processed without any issues, and some error out, so we are not in a position to conclude anything.
    Because of the above issue, many business critical messages are pending to be processed.
    If any one has encountered this before error, pls share your inputs to resolve this or any workarounds to temporarily handle the issue will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Younus

    Hello Younus,
    We are facing exactly same problem in some of our scenarios.
    It is strange that this error doesn't occur all the time ,only some messages fail with this error.
    I know ,this is a worst approach,but as we couldn't find any solution,we have adopted a workaround to request partner to resend the message and this works well .
    Thanks.

    In addition to what was said, I can think of two other possibilities for RMAN-6054 during duplicate: bugs such as 12625205 (also see 8554110); duplicate was run earlier without removing the old restored files (Note 1549172.1). In the first case, just specify SCN or find the actual log file and speficy log sequence, instead of time. In the latter case, remove the old restored files or speficy noresume.

  • Urgent: Huge diff in total redo log size and archive log size

    Dear DBAs
    I have a concern regarding size of redo log and archive log generated.
    Is the equation below is correct?
    total size of redo generated by all sessions = total size of archive log files generated
    I am experiencing a situation where when I look at the total size of redo generated by all the sessions and the size of archive logs generated, there is huge difference.
    My total all session redo log size is 780MB where my archive log directory size has consumed 23GB.
    Before i start measuring i cleared up archive directory and started to monitor from a specific time.
    Environment: Oracle 9i Release 2
    How I tracked the sizing information is below
    logon as SYS user and run the following statements
    DROP TABLE REDOSTAT CASCADE CONSTRAINTS;
    CREATE TABLE REDOSTAT
    AUDSID NUMBER,
    SID NUMBER,
    SERIAL# NUMBER,
    SESSION_ID CHAR(27 BYTE),
    STATUS VARCHAR2(8 BYTE),
    DB_USERNAME VARCHAR2(30 BYTE),
    SCHEMANAME VARCHAR2(30 BYTE),
    OSUSER VARCHAR2(30 BYTE),
    PROCESS VARCHAR2(12 BYTE),
    MACHINE VARCHAR2(64 BYTE),
    TERMINAL VARCHAR2(16 BYTE),
    PROGRAM VARCHAR2(64 BYTE),
    DBCONN_TYPE VARCHAR2(10 BYTE),
    LOGON_TIME DATE,
    LOGOUT_TIME DATE,
    REDO_SIZE NUMBER
    TABLESPACE SYSTEM
    NOLOGGING
    NOCOMPRESS
    NOCACHE
    NOPARALLEL
    MONITORING;
    GRANT SELECT ON REDOSTAT TO PUBLIC;
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER TR_SESS_LOGOFF
    BEFORE LOGOFF
    ON DATABASE
    DECLARE
    PRAGMA AUTONOMOUS_TRANSACTION;
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO SYS.REDOSTAT
    (AUDSID, SID, SERIAL#, SESSION_ID, STATUS, DB_USERNAME, SCHEMANAME, OSUSER, PROCESS, MACHINE, TERMINAL, PROGRAM, DBCONN_TYPE, LOGON_TIME, LOGOUT_TIME, REDO_SIZE)
    SELECT A.AUDSID, A.SID, A.SERIAL#, SYS_CONTEXT ('USERENV', 'SESSIONID'), A.STATUS, USERNAME DB_USERNAME, SCHEMANAME, OSUSER, PROCESS, MACHINE, TERMINAL, PROGRAM, TYPE DBCONN_TYPE,
    LOGON_TIME, SYSDATE LOGOUT_TIME, B.VALUE REDO_SIZE
    FROM V$SESSION A, V$MYSTAT B, V$STATNAME C
    WHERE
    A.SID = B.SID
    AND
    B.STATISTIC# = C.STATISTIC#
    AND
    C.NAME = 'redo size'
    AND
    A.AUDSID = sys_context ('USERENV', 'SESSIONID');
    COMMIT;
    END TR_SESS_LOGOFF;
    Now, total sum of REDO_SIZE (B.VALUE) this is far less than archive log size. This at time when no other user is logged in except myself.
    Is there anything wrong with query for collecting redo information or there are some hidden process which doesnt provide redo information on session basis.
    I have seen the similar implementation as above at many sites.
    Kindly provide a mechanism where I can trace which user is generated how much redo (or archive log) on a session basis. I want to track which all user/process are causing high redo to generate.
    If I didnt find a solution I would raise a SR with Oracle.
    Thanks
    [V]

    You can query v$sess_io, column block_changes to find out which session generating how much redo.
    The following query gives you the session redo statistics:
    select a.sid,b.name,sum(a.value) from v$sesstat a,v$statname b
    where a.statistic# = b.statistic#
    and b.name like '%redo%'
    and a.value > 0
    group by a.sid,b.name
    If you want, you can only look for redo size for all the current sessions.

  • Deleting the flashback recovery area and the files (Oracle 10g on Solaris 8

    Hi,
    We have a dev. db which is small about 3 gb in all (crd files). for this I had enabled flashback and also put it in archivelog mode. then the db_recovery_file_dest_size grew to 3 gb. since space is an issue, I turned off the flashback feature. (by the command: ALTER DATABASE FLASHBACK OFF;)
    Tomorrow I will also make it into noarchivelog mode. My question is: it is having lots of archived logs (may be 3 gb or more) in the flashback recovey area. What is the correct syntax to delete them? There is a warning in alert log which says that use RMAN delete command but I am not aware of exact syntax.
    Thanks
    Nirav

    You can use variations of delete. (As you say there are many files, incude noprompt)
    Once the database goes into noarchivelog mode, the archived redo logs are essentially worthless. They would be useful/necessary if you wanted to restore the database to a point in time prior to going noarchive, but if you don't need that, the two ways you are looking at deleting (depending how you go about it) are at the OS level and within the database (what Oracle knows or remembers about the archived redo logs and where they were sent to via the arch process). The RMAN approach is cleaner, assuming you were using that.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/backup.102/b14192/maint009.htm#sthref776
    Delete unnecessary files from the flash recovery area using the RMAN DELETE command. (Note that if you use host operating system commands to delete files, then the database will not be aware of the resulting free space. You can run the RMAN CROSSCHECK command to have RMAN re-check the contents of the flash recovery area and identify expired files, and then use the DELETE EXPIRED command to remove missing files from the RMAN repository.)

  • Infrastructure Navigator 1.2 monitoring and alerting

    I was under the impression that Infrastructure Navigator did monitoring and alerting of services and applications where if something stopped working or had issues it can notify you via something like email or SMS etc. From what I have seen it appears that it only shows you what services are running on a VM and the dependencies it has with other servers. Is that the case or am I missing something?

    Take a look at http://www.vmware.com/products/datacenter-virtualization/vcenter-infrastructure-navigator/overview.html:
    vCenter Infrastructure Navigator automatically discover application services, visualize relationships  and map dependencies of applications on virtualized compute, storage and  network resources. A component of the        vCenter Operations Management Suite,  vCenter Infrastructure Navigator enables application-aware management  of infrastructure and operations to better understand the impact of  change, provide more complete disaster recovery protection and minimize  downtime.
    Automatically discover and keep up-to-date the names and version numbers of application components and services
    Visualize application relationships, communication paths and  backend connections at the infrastructure, guest OS and application  level
    Map dependencies of application components on the underlying  virtual infrastructure to understand the impact of change and build  disaster recovery plans with confidence
    The use case you describe is more relevant to vFabric APM - VMware's perfomance management suit which among other capabilities, will alert and notify in case of application performance issues, unavailable services etc. take a look at http://www.vmware.com/products/application-platform/vfabric-application-performance-manager/overview.html
