Seeing files on icloud in safari

Hello: does safari (or mercury) allow me to view my files in my icloud, on my ipadmini2 retina? When I type in "icloud.com" in safari's address bar, all I get are instructions on how to set up icloud.
-How might I view my files on icloud, on the retina mini 2? Thank you.

You can log into iCloud.com using Mercury as long as you identify the browser as a desktop browser in the settings. Tap the three horizontal line son the right side of the toolbar to get to the settings. Then tap User Agent in the bottom right corner of the settings window. Then swipe down in the User Agnebt windo and select one of the desktop browser versions.
However, there really is no need to see your files in iCloud.com since all of your files should be in the corresponding apps that work in iCloud.com. One of the features of iCloud.com is to keep all of your devices in sync, therefore if it is in iCloud, it should be on your iPad as well.

You cannot revert back to iCloud after enabling iCloud Drive on your MacBook Air. If you want to be able to access your documents on all your Macs you'll have to upgrade the others to Yosemite and enable iCloud Drive on them too.

Firefox won't allow me to download my files from icloud, but Safari does. Why?

When I use icloud, I can see my files 'in the cloud', but when I try to download them to my Mac, nothing happens, and I cannot find the files anywhere. If I use Safari however, there is no problem, and the files pop straight into my download folder.

Open the Error Console (Tools > Error Console) and view the error messages. When you locate that specific error message, right-click it and select '''Copy''' and then Paste that message here. That should tell us what's wrong.

Seeing files in iCloud

I know that varieties of this question have already been asked, but it ain't workin'. I have iCloud set up on my MBPro (MtnLion) and it shows a list of files. On my iPad3 these files are not showing up. Another support discussion suggested GoodReader. I have that loaded as well and set to access iCloud, but there is nothing showing up. iCloud is ON on my iPad settings.

Often when people think they've deleted an application, what's really happened is that they deleted its icon from the Dock. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Applications
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-A to open the Applications folder. If the application is in that folder, drag it to the Dock (not to the Desktop or anywhere else.) The other Dock icons will move out of the way to make a place for it.

You can't view your back up files at icloud.com.
You can't view your camera roll and you can't view your Photo Stream files at icloud.com.
The icloud back up plan allows you to "restore" your iOS device from the files you backed up at icloud.com.

When I download a Numbers file from iCloud to my Mac, it isn't the latest version.

Today I worked on a Numbers file on my iPad 2 from 4:40 pm to 6:30 pm. A few hours later, when I tried to download the file from iCloud to my Mac, none of today's changes appeared. When I looked at it again on the iPad, on the main Numbers page where you choose the file you want, it showed a time of 4:43 pm associated with the file. However, when I opened it, the two hours of work was still there even though the time was off. I tried sending the file as an email and when I opened the email attachment on my Mac, all of today's changes were there. So the new changes are captured when emailing a file but not when downloading it.
It almost seems as if the file hasn't made it off the iPad and into iCloud, but I can't find any information on ways to force that or know if it's been done.

Two possible problems. 
1. BlackBoard never supports the latest version of Firefox, for a few reasons. Some schools don't run the latest version of BlackBoard Vista or Campus Edition. Also, BlackBoard upgrades seem to be tied to the "school year" cycle, the changes they make to improve and update their software seem to be rolled out for the fall term so that changes aren't being made during the normal "school year" and possibly causing problems for the schools. That also may be a function of their contract / payment cycles with the schools that use their programs.

Depending upon which version of WebCT your school is using, you will have to use Firefox 3.6.x, Firefox 3.5.x, or Firefox 3.0.x when accessing the Blackboard site.
My advice is to install the Firefox Portable version that you need for Blackboard on your computer, and use that installation only for Blackboard. Continue to use 4.0.1 for all other web browsing.

2. Firefox uses a Plugin ( you have Office Plugin for Netscape Navigator installed) to open files that aren't "internet files", like word processing documents. 
I can't help you directly with Office, as I use Open Office, but there should be a preference for that Plugin within your Office preferences or options under something like Internet, to have those files '''Display documents in browser'''.

how do I share files on iCloud between different apps?
I would like to edit simple plain text files on my Mac and my iPad using different apps. They don't see the content of each other. How do I fix this?
example:
when I create a .txt files:
Byword on Mac syncs nicely with Byword on iOS.
Ulysses 3 on Mac syncs nicely with Daedalus Touch.
BUT, cross-sync is not possible.... :/
How can I change this? - I would like to work with Byword on my Mac and Daedalus on the go.

Cross-sync only works if an app on the iDevice allows it. For example, some apps (editors) sync with Dropbox (icloud usually isn't the thing to use) but only in their own folders.
If you save a file from the mac to it's own folder, A, on dropbox and on the device you use a different app that uses its own folder, B, then you won't be able to reach folder A on the device.
One thing to look for in editors that support Dropbox (most do, on a device - clearly all do on a mac) is whether they access dropbox using the root folder. From there you can drop down to any subfolder and reach the files you want.

To Find your music You would Enter iTunes then do the following: Search for Quick links on the right> then Select Purchase> From there you can search for All Media that you have on iTunes, can all select from the two options on the Right> All or Not on this Computer & then once you've selected your choice you can see what you have and what's not on your computer, but this only works for media you've purchases through iTunes. You might want to make sure your credit card is listed in the billing information associated with your Apple ID (see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1918).
Also, to change the From name that appears when you address emails on and iOS device, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...tap your iCloud email account, tap you iCloud account at the top, tap Mail at the bottom, then enter the name you want to use in the Name field at the top.
To change the From name on your Mac Mail, go to icloud.com, sign into your account, open Mail, click the gear shaped icon on the bottom left and choose Preferences, go to the Accounts tab and enter the name you want to use in the Full Name field and click Done. Then quit Mail on your Mac and re-open it. Your new From name should now appear in the drop-down list when you compose a new email.

If you upload a document from your computer to your iCloud account, the document automatically appears in the app on the iPad - If the app works with iCloud.
You can't log into iCloud and transfer just any and all documents from your computer to the iPad. That's now how iCloud works. You have to upload all of the compatible files into iCloud before you get to the office and then the files will be accessible on your iPad.
There are really only a few apps that even work with iCloud in this manner right now, the Apple iWorks apps work with iCloud, so once again - at this point in time - given the way that iCloud works - there is no reason to log into your iCloud account on the iPad. You have to understand what iCloud does and how it works and I think then it makes sense as to why you don't need to log into iCloud on the iPad.
