Seeing full URL in the address window

When using Weblogic, is there a way to not show the full URL of pages within an app?
After logging into an application, I can copy the URL displayed, open a new IE session, paste the URL in the address box, and be taken directly into the application without having to log into it. This seems to not provide the greatest security for an on-line app.

Eh? Why not? Both IE windows are part of the same process, on the same computer, being run by the same guy. Not really a problem re: security.
Try emailing the URL to someone else on a different computer, and see if they can open it. If so, that's a problem.
To increase the security a bit you can not allow session identifiers on the URL (cookies only) and then require HTTPS for all connections.
There are other things you can do but let's start there...

The protocol (http://) has been removed from the URL in the location bar for http:// pages only. https:// pages will still have the protocol. those are some addons that other users have reported to cause the same problem in the past: Gom player, Ask Toolbar, DivX (Plus) Web Player, RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin...
in case you have one of them present, try to disable/remove it - otherwise you could disable all your extensions & reenable them one by one (a restart of the browser might be necessary after each step) until you find the culprit.

The address window has shrunk. How can I make it longer so I can see the address (or most of it at least)?

I have updated to Firefox 3.6.23 for Mac. I have OS 10.4.11. Immediately I noticed that the address window has been reduced to about half an inch. The search window is long, like the address window used to be. This is not good for me. I usually use the address window to make changes and move to a new page. I cannot do this now. How can I make the address window long again? Can I go back to 3.6.22? I need that long window.

You can place the mouse between the location bar and the search bar and it will become a resize icon. 
Press the left mouse button and drag it to the right to make the location bar wider.
You can also reset the relative wides by deleting localstore.rdf in the Firefox Profile Folder

Why is it that now, when I click on a link for a website I've saved, it does NOT show the URL in the address bar? I can't drag it to an email to share the link.

Why is it that in these newer versions of Firefox (I have 21.0), when I open a link that I've saved, it does NOT display the URL in the address bar any more?

It becomes necessary to reveal the properties of the URL link I've saved, using the Windows "Properties", then copying and pasting the URL into the Firefox address bar, before I can do anything with it.

No changes have been made and no problem with extensions has interfered with the URL appearing in Firefox before. Only with the last few new versions of Firefox has this cropped up. Also, the link opens correctly - it just doesn't display the URL in the address bar, instead it just reads (in gray) "Search or enter address." How could another extension interfere if Firefox is the sole program associated with .htm, .html files?

Can not copy a URL from the address bar/line

Why is it proving so difficult for me to copy a URL from the address bar using Safari? When I click on the link I want to copy, it does not highlight. I have used Command L and Command C, and that works but there has to be a simpler way. I also read that if I click the address bar once, then press the control key and click on it again that a menu would appear with cut, paste, copy. That does happen, but all options are greyed out, and not selectable. Another google search resulted in someone saying there was a button or arrow to click on and that this tool would copy the URL.

Click the icon (favicon) to the left of the URL.
That will select the entire URL.
Command C will copy the URL.

I need to open up the same web site in two separate tabs. Since I upgraded to Firefox 6 when I try to open the web page in a new tab from the list in the drop down in the address window it only gives be the option to switch to the tab already have open.

When I go the drop down from the address window, rather than showing the URL of the website I want open in a second tab it says "Switch to tab." But I don't want to switch to the tab - I want to open a second tab on the same URL. If I want to open it a second time I have to manually key in the address. Is there some way to turn this off so I can open up the second tab using the same address from the drop down? I have always been able to do this with previous versions of Firefox.

How can I add more than five URLs to the address bar drop down list?

How many URLs can the Awesome Bar hold in the drop down list? I was showing five, but when I tried to add a sixth by cutting and pasting the URL in the address bar and clicking "Enter", it did not show up. Can the Awesome Bar hold more than five?

It is possible that you have an extension that sets this value to a lower setting than the current default of 12.

Since switching to Firefox 4 I'm unable to access a web page by pressing "Enter" after typing the url in the address bar; I now have to click on the bar; how do I change things so that I can go back to a keyboard shortcut?

Thank you. I only saw the word "More" on one review of one app that I looked at, and I knew to click on that. But many reviews of several apps had three dots at the end of the sixth line without the word "More". And it was obvious there was more written because it was, for example, left in the middle of a sentence.

To be more precise, you can setup a JComponent or JPanel on top of your JavaFX nodes that has a TransferHandler that can convert the (AWT/Swing) images dragged to the app to JavaFX image and then insert it into the underlying node.
As for the file chooser itselft: ListView and the JavaFX composer can allow you to create one quite easily. TreeView can aslso be used to a lesser extend (still a big buggy). For both of these, there are small bugs in the Cell API that may (or may not) prevent from displaying a proper thumbnail in the cells.
You can also use a regular JFileChooser if you do not mind the dialog box having a different LnF from the rest of your application.
