Seeing my iPOD in the dark

I haven't gone through all the posts so this may have been suggested before. It's all very well allowing the screen to light up for 10 seconds or so when you touch the control wheel.Wouldn't it be a good idea if the back light could be extended to the control wheel symbols so I could see what I'm doing in the dark.

Well it will of course. The next iPods will be touch screen versions, basically iPhone minus the phone and plus a hard drive. So by default the buttons will be backlit because they will be part of the screen.
They will never do it for current iPod because there is no hardware (LEDs, cold cathodes, etc.) behind the wheel to support it and next generations are almost sure to be iPhone like.

I am having problems with my itunes, when plugging my iphone or ipod to the laptop - i can see iphone/ipod in the top right corner of itunes but when i click this to the see what is on theis iphone/ipod the option is no longer there, this was working

Perhaps Bob will see this thread, he is the professor in these cases.
You do not use a WEP password but wpa/wpa2 on router and equipment.
All equipment connects to WiFi, but for your iPad.
Even with all other equipment WiFi off, you cannot connect your iPad.
Your iPad connects to other WiFi nets correctly.
All resets etc done on iPad and Router.
Still I am not sure it is your router for sure, frustrating...
I want to test 2 other things:
1. in your iPad, set everything OFF in Settings/Cellular, turn off/then/on your WiFi, and see whether it will still not connect...
2. If that does not do it: disconnect the router as well as the modem from the power, for 15 seconds, then reconnect the modem, let it fully start, then reconnect the routet let it fully start, turn of your WiFi in iPad, then on, and see whether it will connect.

Can't see my iPod in the Finder

I have a 20GB click wheel iPod, and I used to be able to see it in the Finder a while back, now it does not appear. I can see it fine in iTunes, works fine and no other issues (but have to eject through iTunes). Maybe this is due to software upgrades and is normal?
My reason for asking is I want to remove some of the data files that I backed up to my iPod using it as a hard drive with Backup, but am not sure how to do this if I cannot view those files, so if you can help with that too that would be great.
I'm running iTunes 7.5, iPod software is version 3.1.1. Thanks very much.

Seems to not be an easy fix...I opened Script Editor (v2.1.1) as the page instructed, but it would not launch (the icon bounced once then disappeared from the dock).
Also, the page that you sent me to alluded to the fact that Spotlight would find files on invisible drives, but I searched for a song that I can see through iTunes is on my iPod, but Spotlight does not find it. Not sure if this is helpful to you.
I am not familiar enough with Terminal to really follow the next suggestion given on the page. I could print it out and take it to the Apple store, or do you have any other ideas?

Here is my problem :

And you are positive the white part of the headset is flush with the body of the Nano?
Have you tried another set of headphones to see if the problem persisted? If so, it's likely that the headphone jack needs replacing.

Seeing controls in the dark

this is my first ever ipod, new video 80gb. I was using it in the car with a fm transmitter and when it got dark the screen came on when I touched it but i couldn't see the controls. surely these can be backlit can't they. i have set backlight on and 10 sec option but the controls are still un lit in the dark? can any one help

No app on the iPod is required.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up or conbtinue to show off-line.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.

- If not shown/shown off, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.
