Seeing NINE (9) SUID warnings? DL update from THIS link

It repaired all of my permissions, and left the ONE warning re SUID RemoteADR, which apple claims is a 'false positive'

Yup, it is actually an "issue" but a very soft one. We perfectionistas want it to go, though.
After two perfect installs and upgrades to 10.5.1, it's the only thing that I am concerned with.

Well, if it was going to do anything to your iPad, its too late now, isn't it?
First off, it did not install anything on the iPad. Can't do that from a web site on an iOS device. The only thing you might consider is to clear your browser cache and data: Open Settings app > Safari:
    Clear History
    Clear Cookies and Data
And if you are really the paranoid type, Advanced > Website Data > Remove All Website Data.

  • Just had a request from this link - tinglishtea.***/layouts/out/ to confirm an app purchase. Then asked for loads of info regarding my card. I got out quickly. Any ideas? I had not purchased the App

This seems like a con to me.
The link was disguised on the original to resemble an Apple link

  • I'm not interested on buying CC, I'd just like to update from LR5 to LR6. Where are the links?

    I have LR5, I'm interested in LR6.
I don't want to commit 10 USD/month for a program that I don't use every month, I prefer to pay an upgrade as it has always been, but looks like Adobe is only interested in pushing its CC no matter if you don't need the other products in the bundle.
If there's a link to buy LR6 which is?
If there is another procedure, please let me know

You can buy or upgrade from this link:  Products
Click on Buy in the Lightroom section. Don't worry about the price at first.
You should see something like this when you drop down the box from Full to Upgrade and tell it what you already own.:

My AppStore id is my apple id n password which is good when purchasing. But when I am updating from update option it ask for a password. The user id I see there is not mine, it's different. How do I change that to my apple Id? Please help me resolve  this issue. I have tried resetting it but nothing... Either I'm doing something wrong or....

I believe the issue is with the Apple ID that was used to purchase the App. If you download an App that was purchased under a different Appple ID then all updates will also be linked to the original purchaser's Apple ID. Your Apple ID is the the same ID as your iTunes, iCloud, etc. Some folks use different ID for the different Apple sites. No need for that One ID for all Apple Sites, and if someone else buys an App using their ID and they(you) download that App onto your device and that App requires an update it will ask for the purchasers Apple ID. This happens a lot when folks sell their iPad or give it to someone else and leave some purchased(free) Apps on the iOS device. You cannot change the original ID the App was purchased under. A suggestion would be if someone else has an App that you like but do not want to pay for use their ID or in the future have them gift the App to you.

  • My workstation won't see Software Updates from my server

    Hi guys,
I'm toying around with Software Update Services. I've setup the Software Update service on my Xserve, and I've downloaded the update packages & made them available for clients to download.
The trouble is, when I run Software Update on my workstation, it still seems to connect to Apple for updates; instead of the workgroup server. How do I troubleshoot this? If I look on the Xserve, there is nothing in the Server Admin logs for Software Update that relate to my workstation failing to connect. In Workgroup Manager, I have the Preferences set for my workstation where "Software Update server to use" is set to "http://bugs:8088". With Safari on my workstation, I can open http://bugs:8088 and see the directories where the packages are stored... yet Software Update ignores them!
The Xserve is running OS X Server 10.4.2 and my workstation runs OS X 10.4.5. Any suggestions? Thanks!
      Mac OS X (10.4.5)

I to am having the problem with my test client not getting updates from the server. I am the lone IT man in this company so I've had to work slowly to get my Mac server online. I am following the System Imaging and Software Update Administration guide. It said to enable the service, enable and mirror the updates I wanted. For an unmanaged client (like this one) do:
defaults write com.apple.SoftwareUpdate CatalogURL http://ifire.local:8088/. Each time software update runs I get no new software available. I used terminal with softwareupdate -l and followed the process. I get 'Unable to use product xxx' on everything and the line that followes is 'Failed to load distribution file xxx.' I know there is one update for me, Quicktime.
    !!HELP!!

I've tried and tried several times to Connect my device to my PC and follow the onscreen instructions in iTunes to download the update from Apple. Problem is iTunes doesn't connect to my iPad so that I can update to iOS 5. I don't see the iPad icon when iTunes loads. I have looked in my computer and see the iPad is recognized. Any one else having this problem? This is also happening with my iPod
    Thank you, Ripley

I haven't updated yet. Apple's download servers have been too busy. Did you know you can update via wifi instead of connection to your computer?
Here's a description of the update. Not a lot of changes for iPad 1/2.

  • How do I get rid of Search, I installed this program accidently as it claimed to be an update from firefox?

Search has taken over my home page and search page.
I understand that it is a malicious virus that is designed to send lots of adds and also invade the PC and find out personal details.
I accidentally installed this while working on wordpress.
I received several warnings that I needed this update.
When I clicked on the page I received a certificate from Norton that verified that this was safe.
I have uninstalled from the programs list in uninstall programs.
    All help would be appreciated.

If you get a pop-up message asking to update Firefox or plugins then such a message is likely a scam and you should never respond to such an alert to avoid getting infected with malware.
*Only update Firefox via "Help > About" or by downloading and installing Firefox from the Mozilla server and never via a pop-up or link on a web page.
*Plugins should only be updated via the plugin itself or by visiting the home page of the plugin.
You can also do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
